Cute little shop with a rich history--open since 1925 and at this location off Highway 31 since the 1950s. Impressive longevity! I stopped in looking for locally sourced hot sauce as last-minute Christmas gifts after my usual online supplier went out of business. I always try to support local businesses, and this one popped up in my search. They have a nice selection of honey, jams, hot sauces, sausages, and some cheeses. Exactly what I was hoping for, and I found a few great gifts. The only downside was the customer service. I was the only customer in the store at one point, but the two young women working there didn't greet me or offer help until I asked a question. They didn't seem particularly engaged or connected to the business (possibly not family or long-term staff). It lacked the warm, small-town Southern charm I've come to expect from similar local spots. Not a deal-breaker, and I might return, but the experience felt a bit impersonal compared to other family-run places I love. Still worth a visit for the unique local products and historic vibe!

I saw online that they carried Tupelo honey and since we were in the area we stopped to pick some up because it has unique flavorful and health benefits. It is hard to find and has a limited production. They have local honey as well as gift items that you can buy to ship. Some cute displays and information on honey bees and beekeeping make it an interesting stop.

I take honey every day for the health benefits, and can honestly say Early's has the best-tasting honey I've ever had!

I had to come back and update my review because this place continues to impress me. If you haven't…read morebeen to Light Hill Meats yet, you're seriously missing out. The quality of everything they sell is top-notch, and it's become one of my favorite local spots for fresh meat. But this visit, I have to talk about the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Wow. It was one of those desserts that makes you stop talking after the first bite. The cobbler was warm, packed with sweet blueberries, and had the perfect buttery, crumbly topping. Paired with the cold, creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it, it was absolutely incredible. I honestly wasn't expecting to find one of my favorite desserts at a butcher shop, but here we are! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or make recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their products and the experience they provide. It's rare that I update a review, but this place earned it. Between the outstanding meats, excellent customer service, and now one of the best blueberry cobblers I've had, Light Hill Meats keeps giving me reasons to come back. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor--grab some meat for dinner and don't leave without trying the blueberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. You can thank me later!

I like to support local businesses, but it's become obnoxious. Perfect example is they sell Masa Chips for $15 a bag. I have ordered them direct for months, @16 bags for $56, free shipping. Seriously, I am all for running a profitable business, but I stopped shopping there for a year, and finally went back for sausage just last week. I will again, go back to Semler Farms.
