Ok decided to give this place a shot since the reviews were fairly high. The pro's: this is basically a fast food restaurant and the service was great and the staff were very friendly. The price of this entree was $14.95 and it is a lot of food. Which considering the amount of food it's a fairly decent price. However if you are planning on eating all of the rice and macaroni salad my advice would be to plan a nap afterwards because it's a lot of carbs. The cons: Having lived in Hawaii I would not really consider this Hawaiian food. It's really ok but I don't think I would go out of my way to eat here again. If you are looking for a quick, fairly priced, filling lunch or dinner this is your place. I may go back and try the pork just to see if the experience changes my opinion. Came here for lunch today and was greet by a friendly staff. I ordered the Kailua pork mini meal and my husband got the teriyaki chicken mini meal. The food was fresh, hot and tons of flavor with good quality of food. Price to portion ratio is good as well. We like to mix our rice with the macaroni salad and it was all delicious. We will definitely be coming here at least once a month if not more often. Stayed full for 5+ hours later. Highly recommend!!!! read more

We stopped in tonight to try this place out. What a fantastic experience! We ordered a variety of foods to try. For an appetizer, we got a couple orders of spam musubi. The spam was fried so nicely and overall the musubi had a great flavor. For our entree, we got the Aloha family pack, which came with three proteins, rice, and macaroni salad. For our proteins, we got the Hawaiian BBQ chicken, kalua pork, and kalbi short ribs. All of these were absolutely phenomenal! The kalua pork has this amazing smoky flavor and they include this sweet sauce that makes it so delicious when combined! The kalbi short ribs were incredibly tender and tasted amazing. The bbq chicken was cooked to perfection and was so delicious. I'm not going to lie, I figured I probably wouldn't care for the macaroni salad, because it's not really my thing. It was so simple and yummy, I kept grabbing more. For dessert, they had this sponge cake with a custard top and cinnamon dusted on it. It was so good! The yellow sponge cake was light and fluffy. The custard top tastes exactly like rice pudding without rice. And to top it all off, the staff were so amazingly pleasant and friendly and kind. We decided to order this to go and had lovely conversation while we waited. Honestly, we typically avoid new restaurants for the first few weeks after they open, because we know it takes some time to iron out the kinks and get into a good rhythm. This is the best Hawaiian food that we have had outside of Hawaii. We have had Hawaiian food all over the Us and this place is fantastic. Everything is homemade and just hits the spot. The salmon salad had super crunchy fresh lettuce, edamame and perfect cucumbers. The katsu chicken is cooked perfectly and it's obvious it's hand breaded. The masubi has the best seaweed (tastes like Maui gas station masubi). The macaroni salad is super authentic (not sweet, like chain restaurants). This is my new favorite local spot!!!! read more

Best meal out I have had in quite a while. My friend, her roommate and I went to a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant yesterday afternoon and it was AMAZING. We got chicken teriyaki, a combo of kalua pork and katsu chicken, and beef and roasted chicken and we shared some Spam musubi. They all came with fried rice (or white rice but we all picked fried), a scoop of macaroni salad and cabbage and broccoli. Everything was amazing. The biggest winners were the pork and the beef. The pork was bursting with flavor and the beef was melt in your mouth tender. We loved the spam musubi too. Macaroni salad was also to die for, and that's not something I would normally eat. I live an hour away, but will be going back next weekend for that beef. Holy cow! I was dreaming about it. Service was wonderful and everyone was SO friendly! I can't wait to go back! read more

We got the bbq beef-chicken katsu combo and the Aloha meats combo (beef kalbi, bbq beef, bbq chicken) plus the spam matsubi to go. Combos come with 2 scoops delicious white rice, one scoop of tasty macaroni salad and some mixed veggies (cabbage, carrots, broccoli) plus dipping sauces. Don't be deceived by the pictures and in small print under the menu it says pictures may not be what you get. I ordered, teriyaki chicken, was supposed to be with fried rice, broccoli and greens. First time eating here. I loved the Hawaiian BBQ place in Cool Springs years ago and was excited when I saw this place open. The Katsu Chicken was awesome! Loved the katsu sauce that came with it. We also got the BBQ chicken. It's just a chicken breast with BBQ sauce on it. Nothing special and won't get again. The rice was dry. Not bad but the texture was off. It was like I got the day-old rice that had been left out overnight. The macaroni salad was not good. It had a strange flavor. One bite and it went in the trash. The thing that saved my review from being lower was the Katsu chicken. If I come back, it will be for that, but I'll need to figure out something else for the sides. read more
