Very humble appearance from the outside, but when you walk in, the smell is undeniable. Such a good price for the 2 item combo which usually last me 2-3 meals. Mango lassi was tart and delicious, felt very authentic. My only complaint is I wish there was better packaging for the more saucy foods, I walked to pick up my food and when I got home I lost so much of that delicious tikka masala sauce inside the plastic bag. EXCEPT The new girl that works there really gave me 4 pieces of chicken with my food. I decided to check out Orange Curry because I was in the mood for Indian food and had them bookmarked for the longest time. I ordered my go to tikka masala, chicken curry with garlic naan. I was impressed with the generous portions but I did not like the curry. The tikka masala consistency was broken and not smooth/creamy. The flavor lacked depth that I normally get when eating curries. There was a layer of oil on both items and was very displeasing. When I dip the naan into the curry, it was like an oil sponge. They also have really good vegetarian food. And they allow you to try samples of their food which is amazing!The bowl item comes in with rice, good bread and two choices of what you want with the rice just for $9 ( curry, spinach, etc. ) they have eggplant that I'm looking forward to trying too. Craving Indian food while in Anaheim? Then you definitely have to try Orange Curry. This place is perfect for delicious, cheap, tasty, authentic Indian food. As soon as you enter the restaurant the aroma of the spices hit you in the face and by that alone you know it's going to be good. Note that they only offer counter service as this is more of a fast food restaurant. They have the dishes pre-cooked and in visible warmers. You can choose from ordering combination plates or order by the dish. On my previous visit here the owner was quick to offer me a sample of any of the dishes. On this visit I ordered a 2 item combination plate which included basmati rice, chicken curry (which is made with thigh meat), and chicken tikka masala (tender breast meat). It also came with an order of naan (garlic or plain) which they make fresh with every order. Their portions are very generous. The food is delicious and the service is quick. The only downfall would be that since the food is pre-cooked and in warmers you can't really adjust the spice level of the dishes. The dishes I've had were more on the mild side, so if you like your Indian food spicy, you may need to ask if they have any chili sauce to turn up the heat of the dishes. I ordered the 2 combinations; Aloo Gobi and Palak Paner thru postmate. Arrived relatively quick. Food was good BUT there was no potatoes ( don't care much for cauliflower) in the Aloo Gobi. Gave the restaurant a call to inform them. The lady who answered my call literally asked me " So, what do you you want me to do?" Not once but TWICE. Owner took over the call and apologizes for her. I moved from San Diego three years ago and have tried many Indian restaurants in the county. This is the top Indian restaurant in the area. I stop by at this place to order food at least once a week and I noticed that their food is always fresh and delicious. The service is outstanding and owner himself makes the food from scratch.
