A hidden gem located in an unassuming strip mall, Green Leaves Tea Café is a definite must-visit in my books. Not only does it have the typical tea shop flavors you'd expect (with the option to build your own drink), but also more whimsy, inspired ones like their Jolly Rancher Slushie, and a unique assortment of Asian and Latin snacks: popcorn chicken and tater tots with a selection of different seasonings, bubble waffles, churros--yum! We ordered a Jolly Rancher Slushie, a Black Sesame Milk Tea, and tater tots with cajun seasoning. Very much loved everything, and 75% sweetness was perfect. Doesn't seem like their drinks are overly sugary like other tea shops are. Sadly they didn't have their house special sauce, so we went with BBQ for our tots. No regrets, it was still so yummy and the tots were so nice and crispy. I found myself wanting a second serving. Ordering is easy through a kiosk, and the wait time was super short. Plenty of seating, with WiFi provided. Good spot to hang out or work/study. Absolutely coming back the next time I'm in the area, and looking to try out more of their generous food menu!

Food/Drinks: Popcorn Chicken & Signature Milk Tea Price: $5.45 (Small) | $4.75 (Small) Overall: My friend recommended me this place! This is her fav spot to get milk tea and popcorn chicken. Arrived around lunch time and it was not crowded. Prices are not that bad in this economy! The service was excellent and in a quick manner! I got the sriracha Cajun with sweet chili and the signature milk tea! The popcorn chicken was juicy and crispy which paired well with the milk tea. Although it was a bit sweet (next time I'll get less sweet), the boba was chewy and perfect. Great spot to chill with friends and sip boba drinks!

Signature Milk Tea and Very Berry Slushie

The location is actually very cool and unexpected when you walk in! They have very comfortable seating and it's a pretty cool spot to hang out and enjoy some food or drinks. Everything was fresh and looked like it was made from scratch. There were multiple jars filled with ingredients including ones where you couldn't really see it. Since this was our first time here, we didn't really know what to order so we went with our usual-milk tea. Unfortunately the drinks were not as tasty as excepted. One was the signature milk tea with 50% sweetness and double pearls. It didn't have any type of taste- best way to describe it...meh. It was refreshing however there wasn't much flavor. One thing we did enjoy was their pearls. They are very tasteful and soft. Definitely saved our drink. The second drink was a black milk tea with 25% sweetness and I thought it was okay. Nothing to rave about but then again it wasn't an exciting order lol. The 3rd drink was the very berry slushie and it wasn't a hit. Might come back and give it one more try if we are in the area. And the only reason is because the cashier was SUPER nice. Wish I would have caught her name. But she has colored eyes and curly hair. A+ service from her.

Mango green tea with boba

Tea is on the stronger side, and boba didn't come out fresh so it was a bit chewier than I like. I got a mango green tea and it had a good mango flavor! Server last Friday afternoon was very kind and I appreciate that they actually treat it like a cafe and bring your drinks and food to you! The food smelled good so I'd be down to try that another time

10/10 Food: Popcorn chicken seasoned with sriracha cajun (Small Size) and a side of mango habanero sauce. The seasoning and the sauce is something I've never tried before from popcorn chicken. I loved it!! 2/10 Boba: This spot mainly is a boba spot that offers many different types of drinks. I wanted to order a drink so badly with my popcorn chicken but I've been here 2 years ago and I recall their bobas were awfully hard in the middle. So instead of committing to a drink I asked for a sample and thank god I did because lord the boba was HARD ASF. I dont drink drinks without boba so I did not order a drink. 10/10 Service: The girl who took my order answered all my questions and was super nice to me. 9/10 Price: $6.03 in total for the small size popcorn chicken. Price point is really good compared to other boba spots I have been to.

Very nostalgic boba place that I stumbled upon since I was near the area. They had a lot of versatile drinks and even options for you to create your own. The service was really slow when I went, took about 20 minutes for 3 drinks, but they were also training someone. I would come back just to get a drink because their boba reminded me of when boba first started getting popular. I ordered two thai teas and a pina colada slush. Both were very yummy! The tables were sticky and needed a wipe down. I would like to come back next time and try out their snacks :)

Came here to get some boba, I love the taro milk tea. Been here twice before. The service is amazing, Jett did a phenomenal job helping us with boba options. The inside is also cute, also always busy!

Lrg: Green tea, apple/peach flavor, peach popping pearls. Sml: black tea, pomegranate flavor, and strawberry popping pearls.

I still really like their drinks, but I can't justify going very often because my drink has increased in price by 30% in the last 3 years. $8.50 for a 20oz Thai tea with boba, which is half ice, is a lot. I always get great service and the place is still very clean when I go, I just wish they weren't so pricey.

foods okay but the drinks are way better. vibe is pretty chill, never really been busy but i'd drive this way just for the drinks Lol

I was in the area visiting in laws so heavily relied on Yelp reviews one day and ended up here on Christmas Eve. Staff were friendly, the place was welcoming and clean. He even let us try one of their specialty tea before I purchase one. The popcorn chicken we had was probably one of the best that I had - very happy and satisfied. Whenever I return to the area, I will definitely come back to visit.

Just went back for the first time after moving away from the area and was disappointed to see my favorite Boba Tea spot was hit by shrinkflation. A regular is no longer a regular compared to any other Boba shop. The boba quality was not great either. Didn't taste or feel fresh or maybe they changed their supplier to a cheaper version too? Definitely disappointed as I always try to support small businesses. I get why they do make changes like this, but in my opinion there are better options out there. This was a small for almost $10! A regular boba is about $6.50 for a regular everywhere else.

Ask the Community - Green Leaves Tea Café

Do you have sugar free drink options?

They do! They're able to accommodate all drinks with the sugar free option, except for the brown sugar drinks since those require a specific sweetener

Kelly, have thought about adding brown sugar boba to the menu. It's all the rage in the boba industry right now. And I would prefer to go here for brown sugar boba because the service at Tai Tea nearby is poor. So could you please consider adding it?

Do they have Brown Sugar Boba Milk?

Does your non-dairy creamer have sodium caseinate (milk derivative)? If so, it wouldn't be vegan.

What do you use as milk/creamer for the milk teas? And do you use powders or syrups for the drinks?

Lots of space to sit, love the ambiance feel like you were in an old train station. Service was great, I had questions about some of the coffees and they took their time explaining it to me. For food they only had pastries but for coffee and matcha lots of interesting options. They have beans from various parts of the World, but mainly Norway!!! We got really excited about this. We ordered a Volcano Latte and a regular latte. The Volcano latte had an explosion of flavors topped with a smoked salted foam out of this world. My new favorite. I will keep on coming to try more things while in town.

One thing to keep in mind is that parking isn't free, and depending on the time of day, it can be a little challenging to find parking if you're just stopping by for coffee. I tried two different lattes and unfortunately wasn't a fan of either. Yuli, the barista, truly did her best to make it right and was so sweet, which I wholeheartedly appreciated. Her service alone made me want to give this spot a higher rating. That said, the lattes were a 2/5 for me. They tasted too milky, and the coffee had an aftertaste I personally wasn't fond of.

I remember trying to go here a while back ago when it blew up on TikTok but ended up not sticking…read morearound because it was so crowded (and also because I got harassed by a neighbor outside who, in his own words, was trying to make people feel not welcome here because he was angry about people coming in and parking in the neighborhood... weird). Still, I decided to give this place a second chance (no angry neighbor this time), and I was glad I did! PARKING: There's street parking around the neighborhood - I parked on Almond Ave so I wasn't in front of a house. The spots right outside the shop were 30 minute only. If you can't find parking there's probably tons as you go east if you're willing to walk. WHAT I ORDERED: Pistachio cream cold brew THE DRINK: Amazing. I've had my share of acidic or bitter cold brews, and this was not one of them. The cream was perfectly sweetened and flavored . SERVICE: Exceeded my expectations. The baristas when I came in were very bubbly and answered my questions and gave me suggestions, and were funny too! I wish I got their names, but they were working on Monday early afternoon - I hope they get some recognition. We also got some samples of the food items (which may have swayed me to get the turkey panini next time I come in). Even with the experience I had above a while back ago, I remember going in to let the baristas know and they were very understanding and apologetic, which I really appreciated. VIBES: Probably one of the top coffee shops to get work done in OC. Here's my work-from-coffee-shop checklist: * OUTLETS: So many. Not at the tables downstairs but in the private rooms and at a lot of the seating upstairs. * WIFI/INTERNET: Yes, good speed * BATHROOMS: Yes, clean * WATER: You can ask for free water * VOLUME: Music was a little bit loud but not terrible * SEATING AVAILABILITY: Lotsssss of seats when I came on a Monday late morning-afternoon. Very cool that there were private rooms (which can be reserved two hours in advance if you call them), tables, bar-style seating upstairs, and most importantly, comfy couches!! * LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions BOTTOM LINE: I can't believe I almost missed out on this gem. I'll be back soon!

Food/Drinks: matcha…read morelatte - not the richest matcha taste or quality and when i got it with oat milk, the oat milk flavor ended up overpowering the matcha a bit. although, it wasn't bad it was still decent to sip on while working! iced caramel macchiato - on the sweeter end of drinks and if you get oat milk it will overpower the taste a bit but still a decent drink banana cream matcha latte - has the creamy texture from the banana cream and surprisingly the banana didn't have a strong artificial banana taste. to me, that's a little rare and in a good way. the matcha isn't a strong matcha taste but still present avocado toast with egg - it was plated and presented nicely which i was kinda surprised about. it tasted decent. the bread is on the softer/soggier end rather than the crispy and toasted end. the sauce and radish overpowers the taste. i got a runny sunny side egg and it was a nice addition for me. service: this spot has one of the nicest helpful service. i was here for a few hours working and despite shift changes, each new staff who was working were so nice and helpful! ambiance: it's such a bright and spacious spot with a few study rooms and many seating. it's bright and has a cozy wooden feel. i love that there are many outlets and it's not overcrowded or too loud. it was the perfect spot to work at!
