Beef and noodles with added tomatoes, squash, cilantro, broccoli and onions - $14.99
    Jaclyn M.

I had the opportunity to create my own bowl, which was affordably priced at just under $15. Option to choose your meat(s) and veggies. The food quality was okay. I went with the recommended sauces, but wished they were more flavorful. The interior of the restaurant was clean and well organized.

One of the first dates Toby and I had when she visited here for the first time was a Mongolian BBQ place at the mall. I told her in high school there was a famous Mongolian BBQ joint near the school that every Senior made it a point to have a picture taken at for the yearbook--like a tradition. But unlike Mong Q, the food they served there was pretty forgettable, especially for a sit-down type place. Mong Q for being a far more fast casual joint really delivered a quality entree of exactly what I was looking for--lots of brisket and pork loin, a ship ton of garlic, veggies, and a lot of sauce over a bed of noodles. You couldn't ask for anything more from a quick and dirty Mongolian BBQ joint when the hunger is high and the time left before your movie is low. The service was S-Tier. They got me my food and drink fast, fast, fast. They didn't do a lot of back and forth with making my bowl. They just took what was given to them and did me right by handing me back a quality tasty bowl of yum. The quarters, while not huge, was still clean and kind of had a modern touch. I wouldn't mind hanging out here after the meal just shooting the ship with friends; it had that kind of vibe to it. All in all, this is a great option at The Block and one I'll have to keep in mind going forward when I'm here to catch a film.

I had been craving for Mongolian noodles for years!!!!! And this place really hit the spot. The service was amazing, fast and pretty nice. Whenever I craving for noodles this is the place where I want to go to. Keep up the good work!

The worst food. The noodles had a stale, musty smell, the taste was inconsistent, and there were no vegetables--just smelly

    1. The spot has good options to add to the bowl! 2. The spot also has fun casual vibes since it is located inside an outdoor shopping center! 3. There are indoor and outdoor seatings! 4. The staff were friendly and kindly suggested for me to add more meat since I can add as much as I can stack into the bowl! 5. There are lots of parking but it can get busy depending on time and day! Note: This spot does not have their own restrooms for customers, but there are multiple restroom areas in the shopping center! Photo: Mongolian BBQ Bowl (Regular)

My boyfriend is the biggest fan of Mongolian BBQ. We noticed this spot opened up and I knew we had to try it out. I have to start off with the amazing service from Hector and the cook! They were both so nice and gave us a smile as we walked in. Hector let us know that the store was new and even welcomed us back. Our bowls were stuffed ! They are so generous with the portions here. Hector explained the different sauces which were very helpful. At our usual spot, they just slam everything together and push you along. Not here! The store is also spotless. There is plenty of seating but we took ours to go. The plate was enough to feed me and my boyfriend. We added spice but next time we'll have to add more. Don't miss out on this new storefront !

Food was amazing!! Very tasty. Everything was clean and the staff were very helpful with their recommendations which made the food taste even better. Portions were a perfect size, very worth the price. It was a nice meal/break after walking around shopping all day.

So happy to finally have a Mongolian Bbq place close by! It's nice being able to get a large to share right before watching movies at AMC~ I highly recommend stacking your toppings as much as you can to get your moneys worth! I wish there was a teriyaki sauce to add a bit more sweetness, but other than that, the experience is very streamlined and everyone was very nice. I would definitely be coming back here again!~

We were wondering why it was totally empty at dinner time
    My Y.

Dinner time and it was empty should've been my warning; we walk in about to enjoy a nice Mongolian BBQ meals. We started putting the food into the bowl and we were wondering why to-go they used the glass bowl instead of the box. Well, then when we were about to finish adding the food to the tiny bowl an OG guys (probably owner) came over started yapping not to use the hand when the meat fell of the bowl. He continues and we told him why didn't they give us a to go box. The bowls are angle, tiny and not flat so you cannot put much in it. Instead of making all these excuses why not just say I'm a tight wad owner and don't want you putting much food into a bowl. But at least let us put enough food to be full after the meal my goodness! Obstensibly, there is a sign that states not to use your hands when food falls over the bowl which we didn't see like we are there to read lol... Meanwhile he is here picking up our bowl and complaining and spitting in the bowl. That's ok but don't use your hand or be prepared for a tongue lashing! Then we just said forget it and left. We see why it was empty in the restaurant. Meat was stone hard very sparse amount in each selection. We got veggies first since we prefer veggies and then put the meat after. Cheaping out and then charging almost $20 a bowl is a joke. They should visit Hong Kong Express across the mall ...

Looks like I was late to the game because they have been famous with articles from Eaters Magazine LA and The New York Times about Chef Winnie Yee, the Pit Madam. I think this is a new location they expanded to in the Cottage Industries newly developed area in Garden Grove. There is a small private lot off 9th street, but it's usually full, so you can find additional parking off 8th or 7th street nearby. I was helped by Swarna and she was so friendly, courteous and helpful. My boyfriend and I wanted to try a little bit of everything so we ordered 1/2 lb Brisket ($19), 1/2 lb Siu Yuk ($16), 1 Green Curry Sausage ($9), Mac and Cheese ($8), Tallow Fries ($8), and a Regular Fountain Drink ($3.50). We took the food togo, but everything tastes fresh and delicious. It did not affect the quality of the food. The one feedback I would like to give the restaurant is that it seems a bit stingy to only give us only one of each sauce when we ordered 3 meats. I didn't see this until we got home or I would have asked for more. It's hard to say which one was my favorite because both the brisket and the siu yuk were good. It was not only the flavor but the quality of the protein. The green sausage was a really nice fusion execution of a traditional American barbecue item. The sides were less exciting. I ate them and they were average but I don't feel like they live up to how great the proteins were. I would definitely order different sides the next time I come back. A great execution from Chef Winnie's Asian background in perfect harmony with American barbecue. I'll definitely be back!

It was plenty of food, more than enough for all of us and pretty affordable I'd say for barbecue. My favorite meat would probably be the crispy pork or brisket. Best side was the sesame slaw, fresh and helps cut the fats from all the meat. The cornbread was a tad dry but the butter helped out. Fries were also just alright, would've chosen something else. Also really like the outdoor seating idea but realistically, during summer... the flies and the heat are unbearable. Wished there was an indoor option.

We ordered a BBQ plate, cornbread (that comes with 4), and their own home brewed root beer . Damnation plate comes with choice of 3 meats, choice of 2 sides, and corn bread. You add an extra $2 for premium tier meats. For the meats we ordered brisket, tri-tip, and pork belly. For the sides we got the coconut creamed corn and smoked mashed potatoes. I enjoyed that the meat was cut almost to bite size pieces. Pork belly at a BBQ joint is unique to offer. We enjoyed its flavor and taste. The coconut creamed corn is delicious. Very unique and first time trying. We enjoyed the savory corn with the sweetness to the coconut milk. The mashed potatoes were very subtle to the smokiness. Slightly gummy. Cornbread was a tad dry. Fresh brewed Brew Hawg Rootbeer I really enjoyed. Not overly sweet. It's very hard to find a place that brews their own Rootbeer. Again, I say the service was amazing. When we were done eating, the lady behind the counter gave us some banana pudding to try. Thank you. The service is memorable. We will definitely be back.

But fine Pork ribs : 7/10 Side dish was a runny Mac and cheese: 4/10 Onion rings are pretty perfect. Thick slices with crunchy panko-ish breading. Onion rings 10/10 Brisket plate with 2 sides: sweet potatoes and beans The brisket over all was salty and a bit dry. We were served two fatty pieces from the middle. And a couple not so fatty ones from the ends. Those were dry. The fattier ones were better. But still really salty. Wasn't a fan Brisket 5/10 Beans: a bean medley?!? Multiple variety of evens. Which I am assuming had some bbq sauce in the broth as they were both vinegary and sweet. Honestly. I hated them We threw the entire side away Beans 0/10 Sweet potatoes : Sweet! Like. Really sweet. Ketchup is served in little plastic cups.. as opposed to a squeeze bottle. The onion rings don't actually fit in the cups to dip them in ketchup. So.. yeah that's annoying. Bbq sauce is also served in those little cups. Where are the squeeze bottles of sauce lol. At least they don't charge for bbq sauce like heritage does. All in all was nice to get a new place.
