    Delicious food! The raw marinated seafood in the summer special was so fresh and delicious, and the warm soup set was so flavorful and hearty. The milk tea makgeolli was also unique and delicious. The servers were super helpful and attentive, and the ambiance was great.

    5/5 Chanhap unagi $35- My friend said this is the best eel she's had in the US, & I agree. This comes with rice on the bottom, on the side: layers of rice, scrambled eggs, seaweed & furikake. There's also wasabi & pickled ginger on the side. The eel is sweet but I didn't really mind it, very flavorful & tender otherwise, I think the furikake or seaweed on the egg was too salty. I didn't use the wasabi which I regret. You're supposed to mix all the sides/everything together so you get a blend of all flavors in 1 bite- sweet, salty, spicy, umami. This also comes with banchan- soy sauce, seaweed, brilliantly plated kkaktugi wrapped in kimchi & a lychee yuzu dessert. Loved everything esp the dessert. 3/5 porcini mushroom set seafood platter $42 glass noodle $5 extra - the crab wasn't the best quality but everything else was pretty good

    Oncheon ("On" = warm, "Cheon" = spring) really lives up to its name, the whole place has a relaxing, hot-spring vibe. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, and they serve a very clean, healthy style of hot pot. We ordered the Oncheon Signature Set ($42 per person). For the soup base we chose the fermented soybean broth, which was excellent. The set comes with a box of assorted vegetables and four small side dishes. For proteins, we added the Wagyu ribeye (+$7) and the seafood platter. The Wagyu came with about 5-6 thin slices and the quality was really nice. The seafood platter included scallops, crab, white fish, clams, and shrimp -- a great mix for two people. After cooking everything together, the broth became incredibly flavorful from the seafood and beef. That's one of my favorite parts of hot pot -- the soup just keeps getting better as you go. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt relaxing rather than rushed. I'd probably go with the seafood platter alone next time since it's a good value for the portion. All in all, a great spot for a lighter, healthier hot pot. You leave feeling full but still comfortable.

    Oncheon is one of my favorite new spots around k-town for lunch & dinner! The ingredients feel premium in the food and the ambiance is very relaxing. The staff is always kind as well. The menu has two types of options, either a healthy hotpot set or a box set. I've tried both and they're both really good! The hotpot set comes with a large amount of veggies and meat and you can add in extras like noodles. The box sets are perfect in case you're not in the mood for hotpot. They both come with side dishes/banchan so you can't go wrong. The crispy beef fritter appetizer, unagi box set and sukiyaki hot pot are my personal favorites here.

    Oncheon is a restaurant serving "well-being" shabu shabu. I love the beautiful chanhap boxes. The unagi was sooo good as well! THe signature doenjang shabu shabu was great, it's a very fun experience, and the staff are very attentive to you during the whole meal.

    A cute ambiance that's not as loud as other Korean restaurants nearby. The menu is selective and focused, with adorable presentation. The staff is efficient and very friendly.     My goodness! What an experience! From the servers, to the presentation, to the quality of the food, this place has it all! I was in the mood for something, wasn't sure what, and in NYC you can literally fall into somewhere great, and I walked past this place at least 20 times, but for some reason, it caught my eye today. Upon entering, you are immediately greeted but you get completely overwhelmed because from the outside, you don't expect what you walk into: it's dimly lit, but tastefully. The booths and tables are cozy, spread out enough to feel like you are alone. Even the bar (where I sat), felt like I was in my own world. It's beautifully decorated, and extremely aesthetically pleasing. With plants throughout, waterfalls, and perfect lighting. The server will give you several menus, offer suggestions, and pour you a glass of bamboo tea. I asked about it, and she stated that her family has it at home all the time, and it's the perfect complement to the meal experience you are about to have. I can't remember everything I ordered, but I decided I wanted glass noodles, and they were delicious. You're given a pot with whatever broth you decide to try, a platter of sauces, one of vegetables, and one of meat. The server will offer suggestions, ask your spicy tolerance level, and set everything up. It's so much food! And I did my best sampling everything, the cold and hot sauces were perfect, the meat was juicy, and the veggies were fresh and crispy. I spent under $45 for the entire meal. I'll be back very soon!

    Oncheon delivers both comfort and quality. The broth was rich and deeply flavorful without being too heavy, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. The presentation was beautiful and thoughtful -- even the small side dishes felt intentional and well-balanced. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the space has a cozy, relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger. Perfect for a casual but elevated dinner. Definitely coming back.

    Enjoyable experience overall. The uni beef tartare was excellent and definitely the highlight. I had the beef ribeye and seafood for shabu shabu -- good quality and satisfying. The matcha tiramisu was okay, not bad but not particularly memorable. Everything was well executed, though nothing really stood out beyond the tartare. Solid spot if you're in the mood for shabu shabu.

    I wanted to try a different kind of hot pot/shabu shabu and this was highly recommended to me. So we had a group of 5, and that means you get 2 pots, but everyone gets their own set. So we picked two different soups, one doenjang and one shabu shabu (you need two stoves for this one). We each got to pick a meat, and I upgraded one to the wagyu ribeye while everyone else got a wagyu chuck or seafood platter. The waitstaff helps cook your meal for you and it was nice to have someone show you how to maximize your enjoyment. The sides were great, and I wish they were unlimited, but alas. Would definitely come back to try their lunch special someday!

    Honestly, I had really high expectations for this place after seeing all the good reviews. I've had a hot spring meal in Japan itself, so I'm very familiar with the experience. I do feel that they executed the shabu shabu quite well. The spicy sauce, as well as ponzu sauce were a really excellent pairing for the seafood. I felt that the seafood platter was the most worth it as I glanced over at other tables who ordered beef as their entrée and you only get a few slices. However, the crab was not fresh so the meat was quite mushy which was a bit offputting. I do have to give 100 marks for their Unagi Don though. The eel was really tender, and I really enjoyed the Unagi sauce which was a little sweet. The egg on the rice bowl was also a good mix for the dish. Overall, I really enjoyed the flavors in this rice bowl and would order it again. My major complaint would be the takeout order I made the next day. I ordered a kurobata pork bento which ended up looking nothing like the picture. The meat was very light in color and tasted as if it was just stir fried in oil. I was really disappointed as the photo included items like mushroom as well as lotus root, but in the end, we only had a few slices of pork on top. Overall, I really liked the vibe of the restaurant and it felt very serene and calm. We also received top-notch service during our meal so I would return but only for very specific items.

    I stopped in for the lunch shabu shabu set and it was mid overall. Food: 3/5 I got the fermented soybean broth had nice flavor, and the Korean noodles were a good choice. You only get a few slices of beef, so expect to fill up on veggies and noodles. The standout was the fresh tofu salad--silky tofu, edamame, and a flavorful dressing I could eat every day. Skip the complimentary green-tea tiramisu they offer if you leave a review--it tasted mostly like whipped cream with a faint matcha layer. Total damage $55 with tip! Service: 4/5 I was seated immediately and had my pot and sides within 15 minutes--very efficient. The only hiccup was ordering tea: they poured one cup but never left the pot, so staff kept topping it with water by mistake. Friendly overall, and the owner seemed genuinely happy to check in. Ambiance: 4/5 Trendy interior with a Japanese vibe that makes you forget you're in busy Koreatown. It's a relaxed spot for a solo lunch or a low-key meal with friends. All in all, an okay lunch value and a fun shabu shabu experience if you're nearby. I'd return for the tofu salad, but probably not for dessert or a special night out.

Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

This place should be shut down because they discriminate against the disabled and refused to switch 1 chair to accommodate my back injury. How upsetting is that? Service is horrible. Do yourself a favor, don't bother to come there! Oh and also they tell you that you can only spend 1.5 there, a limit on your stay. You get the picture. Don't waste your time and better spend your money elsewhere.

But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence. But for lunch? Unexpectedly great. 4 stars for dinner, 5 for lunch.
