We came with a group for NYE and it was all of our first time. I have to say, I was definitely impressed. The food and service were great, my steak was perfectly cooked and the sides were delicious. The restaurant itself could do with a bit of updating, especially the bathrooms. It was also a bit on the pricey side, about $100/pp and we brought our own wine. All in all, a good steakhouse to have in your rotation in Omaha!

Wanted to like this place soooo badly, but our experience was absolutely horrendous. We were greeted by what seemed like a host in training (or maybe just a helicopter of an owner). The first thing they told us about was the location of the bathrooms (hmmm.. probably wouldn't start a guest's experience with that) and asked if we had a reservation like HMMM not sure if we can fit you in... ok the place was empty. We were seated upstairs and we asked if we could be outside (as it was the nicest weather day of the entire summer) and they noted the patio was closed. Let's note they have literally the most dreamy outdoor section of all time. They said that section was closed. I do understand, but it was 8pm in the summer, at a steakhouse, and the patio is literally on the other side of the windows from the table we were sat at. We waited indoors for 5-10 minutes and were not greeted, and not brought water. Servers constantly walked right past us. Finally, once greeted we asked once again if there was any way we could be outdoors, as the place was so quiet it didn't seem like it would be the end of the world for them to make an exception. At this point, it was clear that there must be a power struggle going on at this establishment because the servers were so certain management wouldn't allow it, although those tables are literally 2 feet away from our current table inside. We finally were allowed to go outdoors, and minutes later they allowed another table to be sat near us on the patio. Again, no service, no water... nothing. Then, the topper on the cake was the other table seated outdoors without a struggle.. was greeted immediately, got water, and their drink order. Still no water or nod to us that we were even there. No water, now we are 15 minutes into the experience. Clearly, there was mass miscommunication at this establishment, and total lack of teamwork. We really tried to wait it out, but decided our time at this steak house would have to come to an end before even receiving water. We really wanted to like this place because the patio was so dreamy and relaxing, but enough is enough. We took a few photos of this historic place, and left.. never to return.. not worth it.

My husband and I came to town to celebrate our anniversary. After speaking with a few locals and the staff from our hotel we knew Omaha Prime would be the best place for our anniversary dinner. When we came in for our reservation we were greeted warmly and wished a happy anniversary. We ordered a round of drinks and the Chilean Sea Bass, the 14 oz KC strip steak, and a baked potato to share. The sea bass was absolutely delicious and the garlic sauce was to die for. My husband raved on his steak and potatoes as well. The service was absolutely top tier, and we were gifted cheesecake for an anniversary dessert. I truly loved everything about this place. If you find yourself in the area we highly recommend stopping in for your next steak dinner.

Sometimes you need to go straight to the source And that's what we did in Omaha. We had the best quality steaks we've ever had. Out in the Midwest, where the cows are raised, you won't find a fresher steak. It's hard to describe but the tenderness was unlike anything we've had before. The meats were so juicy and cooked to a perfect rare. We ate every piece so fast in order to enjoy the amazing meats. The truffle cheesy mashed potatoe side was phenomenal paired with our steaks and red wine. There are so many steakhouses to choose from in Omaha but this one was a fantastic classic one. The vibe was old school and not much frills with great service. They truly let the quality of food dominate the experience. Highly recommend!

So headed back home from our trip and my father and I decided to get a good steak for the evening. We didn't want to go somewhere to pricy because we just weren't dressed for the fancy places! We stepped into Omaha Prime and it was like stepping back into time! The decor is older but not horrible! But let's be real. I was there for the steak not the decor. I ordered the Caesar Salad and bone in filet. Caesar salad was fresh and had actual anchovies on it. That provided a new level of saltiness that I had not had. I have to say it was one of the best caesars I have had. The bone in filet... was it worth the extra money or not? I would vote just to get a normal filet. But hey I can say I tried it! The filet was cooked perfectly and was a great piece of meat. Tender and seasoned well. My father ordered the hash browns and asparagus family style sides which were both good. Overall I can say the service was excellent, they have a great bourbon collection to choose from, and the steak was great.

Almost our whole spread! Twin tail lobsters, porterhouse steak medium rare, asparagus, and mushrooms on the way!

Fine dining is something that we rarely treat ourselves to. We both appreciate great food, well put together dishes, and special touches that make an entree unique. I had heard about Omaha Prime through word of mouth and it all looked (from the pictures) and sounded delicious! One morning one of my friends through asked what days would work best for me and Jason to try out Omaha Prime. A few weeks later after figuring out our schedules he had set up a reservation to trek on down to Old Market and try this local New York Style steakhouse. We started off dinner with an appetizer of the shrimp cocktail. These came pretty promptly and a great portion size for the two of us workout-a-holics. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and cooled and large as well. When our main dishes started coming out were were so amazed by their beauty and abundance. Our porterhouse was wonderfully cooked to our liking and being able to taste both sides was an experience I'll always remember. Now I can easily tell the difference between a new york strip and filet mignon, but eating them both in one sitting was amazing. Both were delicious in their own unique ways. The mushrooms were wonderful, if I was going to enjoy mushrooms I'd enjoy it sauteed in brandy just like this. Everything we ordered went incredibly well together like a beautiful harmony of notes that create a beautiful song. Even our waiter was a delight to have help us out. We ended our dinner trying a couple of their desserts which were the perfect ending to our evening. The New York cheesecake and key lime pie were just enough rich with the right amount of sweetness. We are so thankful to Mo and our waiter, our friends who treated us, and this tucked away steakhouse that has more to offer than what it seems. Be sure to make reservations and treat yourself!

38oz Tomahawk Ribeye and Cabernet. I spared the garnish.

While I'm Town I decided to try what I hoped would be the best (read: most expensive) steak ever. I ended up ordering a 38oz Tomahawk Ribeye ($110) and a nice Cabernet. This is NOT something I normally do, lol, but I wanted a memorable "Omaha steak experience". I don't know if I'm ready to claim that it was the best steak in my life, but it was pretty damn good, and it was cooked perfectly (medium rare), especially considering how thick it was. The waiter was great, and I have no complaints about the atmosphere. It's in a great location for anyone wanting to wander around the Old Market district.

The best steak I've ever had in my life!!! I was here for a weekend and was in the middle for steaks. We have gone to many steakhouses including Mastros and Morton's and this steak beats all of them. I asked for my steak well done and it was still so juicy and delicious.

Bacon wrapped quail !! So so good !!

Plank has, unfortunately, announced they will be closing at the end of 2025, and while I did enjoy…read moresome of their food offerings, I can't say I'm super surprised. They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

We'll definitely stop by again next time we're in Omaha!

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

Sometimes the specials do not hit for me, but that is not their fault. It is a seat yourself space, but I have never had any issues finding a spot, usually by the time you order, someone has left. The Drover, a review:…read more When you pull into the parking lot the outside of the place appears very unassuming. Once you walk-in, the modest decor gets even more humbling. It's a very old school, western, and rustic type of vibe. There's a sense of rugged individualism, resilience, and Western identity. Cowboys are a big part of the theme here, hence the brand name, The Drover. Various murals of impersonations of these vaqueros plaster the walls. The lounge area gives off old mafia movie feels, as you can picture how it could be filled with clouds of cigar smoke as mafioso Capos & soldiers belly-up to the dark bar sipping on their Scotch. Once the drinks start flowing and you get relaxed then the magic starts! You won't be disappointed in the Old Fashioned, or any other type of cocktail for that matter. The fresh baked bread comes out first with a significant portion of spread butter, which is absolutely delicious! Then you realize, that this place actually still has an old school salad bar. Like as soon as I seen the salad bar with all the fixings and the homemade Thousand Island dressing, I was hooked! Finding an open buffet style salad bar these days is as rare as finding a good woman who cooks and cleans. They're like unicorns. The Drover has several cuts of meat to select from. You honestly can't go wrong with the cut that you choose. They have seafood selections as well, just in case you want to get your Surf 'N Turf on. There's one thing that you can definitely say about this place, and that's the fact that it's a no-frills type of joint. They don't waste any time with any fluff. It's strictly meat & potatoes...literally. You won't find any bartenders here doing stupid bottle tricks and begging for clicks like they do out in Vegas. Instead you'll find Tony, who just keeps the glasses full with the concoctions that you wish to imbibe on. One of the female bartenders would fit right in at home in NYC as she drops an F-bomb or two. But, I'm no Karen, so I welcome the realness. She stated, "it's so fucking hot in here", as the bar fills up and the workers get slammed! Now onto the main course: I went with the 8oz Filet and the loaded baked potato. It was delicious! Simple, tasty, and loaded with flavor. They're famous for their secret "whiskey marinade" recipe. The baked potato comes out still wrapped in its foil, which will bring back memories of when your dad would cook them on an open flame charcoal grill. Did I mention the butter? I think I ate enough butter to kill a baby cow! And, I still couldn't get enough. Overall, this place is the epitome of Midwest Steakhouses. It gets right to the point and its customers will appreciate that! One guest told the bartender that he's not from Omaha, but every time he comes into town he comes directly to The Drover to eat dinner. He stated, "I've been coming here for 28 years". Later adding, "except for the years it was burnt down". Another female bartender quickly corrected him, "it was only shutdown for 9 months". Well, when your favorite restaurant is closed for any amount of time, "it felt like years", I added, as we all got a good laugh. As one old timer who came to sit at the bar said, "this is our favorite place". Well...old cowboy, I can see why. And, just like any Old Western movie, The Drover packs a serious punch. Pro tip: they open for dinner at 5:00pm, so get here early, unless you have Reservations of course. I got there at 4:55pm, no reservation, sat at the open bar, which is first come first serve and by 5:40 the place was packed! And, this was on a Wednesday.

This fit the bill so we walked over around 5pm one evening for an early dinner after spending the day exploring the zoo. When we arrived the place was pretty empty - think maybe two tables occupied, and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We did not, and honestly she seemed a bit put out for a bit. I kind of wondered if we were going to be able to eat in this empty restaurant, but alas she decided it was okay and we were seated. This is one of my pet peeves at restaurants. I know, I know, that there could have been a ton of business booked for later, but it's such a bad look to make such a big deal about reservations when the place is empty. Also - while it did start to fill it was by no means full by the time we left. At any rate, things perked up at that point and we all got seated, ordered drinks, food etc. and had a good time. The server was kind and thoughtful and the food was pretty tasty. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my husband as the entrees are a good size here. My six year old had the kids hamburger, though we did have a bit of a scare when the server said "your cheeseburger will be out soon!" we had a long wait on the kids meal and when she said cheeseburger I immediately said - "no cheese!" the menu item was described as a "hamburger" with no mention of cheese and our kid doesn't like cheese her burgers so that was a really close call. I sort of got the impression that server wasn't accustomed to kids, but when the burger came out it was right and even though she had to wait, my kiddo gave it two thumbs up. Overall this is a good pub style restaurant in Old Town. Nothing really to write home about, but they do have decent food and local beers which was all we really cared about after a long day at the zoo.

But honestly, we came for the steak, and it absolutely delivered. We finished with the chocolate cake for dessert, and WOW. It was a huge slice and so delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Always love the ambience and romantic, low lit vibe of Brother Sebastian's! Perfect spot for a date…read morenight/special occasion. We went recently for our 19th wedding anniversary and upon walking in were greeted with a warm welcome and happy anniversary so that was nice. I did reserve a table in a certain room and when we got there they said all the tables were taken in that room so not sure what happened there, that was disappointing. Service was great....food was amazing - you have to try the prime rib it melts in your mouth along with the baked potato! Our meal came with a huge salad bar and we had the lemon cake for dessert / super yummy. Overall, can't go wrong with Brother Sebastian's!
