Chicken Kabobs, Rice, Pita

Olive Pit is quickly starting to become a favorite! I've been here a couple times. Each time I've had a great experience. Service is great. The servers are very attentive. Food and presentation is excellent. I have nothing bad to say here. They make a killer margarita.

Modern Mediterranean spot in Brea. Very nice interior and clean. Ordered the sirloin steak entree with a side of Mediterranean salad and basmati rice. It tasted really good. Love the hummus. Public parking conveniently located at the back of the restaurant. Our server was attentive.

Came here for a birthday celebration, accommodated us to patio seating right away, server was amazing, and food was great. I've been wanting to try this spot for years and definitely don't regret it! Btw feta fries are where it's at! The rocka salad is to dieeee for and works as a great side for steak, if you like acidity, get it! The way the apples and pumpkin seeds, and red onions marry together was divine! Also the zucchini chips sauce that it comes with good lord idk what it is but it was delicious !

A little tricky to find parking on a Friday night. We called ahead to see if we could be added to a waitlist, but we were told that they do not have one. I also noted before that they do not accept reservations either unless it's a larger party. However, the wait only ended up being about ten minutes after we were told fifteen-twenty. We had grilled chicken and steak kabobs and both were great. The rice and fries as well. I also tried the avgolemono soup. It needed more richness but it was still good. Margaritas did not disappoint. The restaurant is nice with indoor and outdoor seating. I'm definitely coming back.

Came here to celebrate two birthdays. Another awesome experience here at Olive Pit. We started with an order of spanakopita and fried calamari. The batter on the calamari was light and perfectly fried. The spanakopita was flaky and tasty. Our son ordered the pastitsio which looked great and he said was delicious. His wife ordered the lamb gyro entree which she loved. My wife ordered the single sirloin kabob with salad and basmati rice while I ordered the double sirloin kabob with basmati rice and fried artichoke hearts. The sirloin was cooked to medium rare which left it tender and yummy. Our server, Deb, was kind to bring us two birthday desserts for our two birthday guests. We love the decor in the restaurant and gives you a nice Greek atmosphere.

Can you reach nirvana with a burger? After trying the lamb burger at Olive Pit Grill, I'm convinced you can. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, this burger was absolutely to die for. On a whim, I asked our server what I should pair it with, and he recommended the Hazy Little Thing IPA. I have to give him credit--it was the perfect pairing and took the whole meal to the next level. The service was just as memorable as the food. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely steered us in the right direction with his recommendation. If you're a burger lover, do yourself a favor and order the lamb burger... and don't skip the Hazy Little Thing IPA alongside it. You can thank me later.

Chicken entree with basmati rice and grilled vegetables

The Olive pit is a local favorite when I'm in Brea. Girls shopping day ended with an early dinner here. My favorite is the grilled chicken entree with basmati rice and Mediterranean salad. Ordered a side of hummus for the table. The service was good, food came to the table at a reasonable time, refills were offered. We waiting a bit for the check and to request boxes a while after we were done eating. None the less, we enjoyed our dinner and would definitely come back.

Dolmades

This Greek spot in Orange County has decent Mediterranean cuisine. The dolmades are alright, but the sauce could be better. The spanakopita is mediocre, not remotely as good as what our family makes at home. But the Feta Fries are incredible! That's my best recommendation here! The lamb dishes and various kabobs are also pretty good. The restaurant is in a great location in the heart of downtown Brea, and the service is excellent! But the Olive Pit isn't going to wow you as much as some of the best Greek restaurants in SoCal.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area indefinitely my favorite Greek restaurant. I have a tendency to always order the same thing. Here my go to is usually the lamb Jairo or the lamb chops but lately I've been trying to try different things. I am happy I chose to do this as I have found items that I have loved that I just hadn't tried. I had this year tuna one day and it was really good. It was perfectly cooked and it had a good sauce but the one item that I was honestly surprised was the half roasted chicken. I tend not to order chicken at restaurants because I am worried that the chicken will be dry, but that was definitely not the case here. The chicken was really good and I will definitely get it again. My boyfriend tried it and he wanted to switch dishes, but I absolutely did not allow him to. The chicken was just very juicy and tender. For the sides, I used to always get hummus, but I didn't know that they had an eggplant dip similar to baba ghanoush. Now that I have tried it, it is my go to. You can really taste a roasted eggplant in there and the texture is similar to hummus. My other go to side are the artichoke hearts because they are so big they are roasted and it's a good portion. Overall this remains to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I will be back.

Although the Olive Pit is in busy Downtown Brea, there's a parking structure right behind the restaurant, so parking is a breeze. They have a very nice patio area as well as spacious and stylish indoor seating. It was a bit windy today, so we chose to sit inside. There are both tables and half table half booth seating, and the booths are very homey and comfortable in that the backs are lined with an assortment of throw pillows. Our server today, Chris, was one of the best servers we've had in a while. He didn't make us feel rushed, checked on us regularly, was very personable, and just had a great sense of humor. My friend ordered the margarita flat bread and thoroughly enjoyed it. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were generous without being too heavy to weigh down the crust. I had the lamb gyro wrap and upgraded to feta fries for my side. The feta fries had a very generous amount of cheese and was really good. The lamb and veggies in the wrap were nicely proportioned, but it could have used more of a dressing or spread to tie it together better. It was an enjoyable visit thanks to Chris. The food was filling, so we didn't have room for dessert, but I have my eye on the baklava ice cream when we return!

I visited Olive Pit Grill in downtown Brea with two friends because we wanted a healthy meal. The three of us ordered Dolmades, a Margherita pizza, grilled chicken kabobs, and a sirloin steak kabob. Everything was delicious; I especially enjoyed the Dolmades, which I was trying for the first time. For dessert, we had Greek yogurt mixed with nuts and honey, which was a perfect way to finish the meal.

This place has changed from my last visit; it is now a sit down restaurant with great atmosphere! Super clean. Outdoor seating is available. Friendly and attentive service I'm sure it gets busy on the weekend.Parking garage is located behind the restaurant. We got our food rather quickly. Everything was delicious. I do prefer the chicken kabobs over the steak kabobs; the chicken was more tender. Definitely coming back!

There is plenty of parking around the restaurant. We dined inside, but they also have a semi-enclosed patio in front with fans and heat lamps. Their inside dining room is the smallest of the other local Panini locations I have visited. I had the Beef Koobideh Kabob plate with two skewers, the Mediterranean salad, and basmati rice, $20.99). It only cost $3 more to get two skewers instead of one, a no-brainer. This is a huge plate of food! There is a lot of meat which is cooked perfectly and very flavorful. It also comes with a skewer of roasted vegetables. The salad is big, with lots of feta cheese on top, and the homemade balsamic vinaigrette was delicious. The serving of rice is huge, and has a little saffron on top. The side of tzatziki is also a generous size. I ended up taking a half skewer of beef and a lot of rice home to enjoy later. She had the Fresh Norwegian Salmon kabob plate, also with the Mediterranean salad, and basmati rice, $22.99). She had a side of the spicy red bell pepper hummus. This plate comes with the same large serving of salad and rice, and one skewer each of salmon pieces and roasted vegetables. She also enjoyed her plate, and also had plenty left over to bring home. Our server Lestat (yes, he is named after a vampire and is asked about his name often) was very friendly and provided great service. Several other staff members also checked on us often. Bottom Line Up Front: If you like Greek food but don't want…read moreto pay big bucks at an traditional sit-down restaurant, Apola can be your yummy, budget-friendly alternative. The Food: Let me start by saying this is clearly an American take on Greek food, so if you're looking for super authentic food, look elsewhere. But if you're OK with a fusion, Apola will satisfy your Mediterranean craving. There are gyros (pita wraps), bowls, combo plates, and burritos (see, there's that American take I was talking about). All of them range in quality from average to really good. Though I've been here several times, I'll focus on my last visit when we got "the Works" pita wrap and a Greek salad bowl. For the Works, it comes with all the fixings, your choice of protein, and fries stuffed inside (yes, inside, not as a side). I chose beef-and-lamb gyro meat, which came in a huge portion. (Pro Tip: I pulled the fries out and got a "free" side. Of course , there's not a lot of fries, but enough to satisfy my fried food craving.) The gyro was big and tasty. For the Greek salad bowl, we also got beef-and-lamb gyro meat. Once again, they hooked it up with the quantity. Nice! The ingredients (tomatoes, cucumber, feta, etc) were all fresh and seasoned nicely. Side note: I do find it odd that they call this dish a salad bowl when it comes in a rectangular plastic tray. But semantics aside, it was quite good. I also ordered a fountain drink and got a Coke. It was nice a crisp with a lot of carbonation. Just the way I like it. It's not as good as the exclusive Coke blend at McDonald's, but was a close second. I have had some pretty watered down Cokes at other places in recent years. The Service: There were two young gentlemen working the last time I visited, and they were both friendly and knowledgeable. They even brought our meals to our table, which was a nice touch for a fast food establishment. The Setting: It's located inside the recently revamped Yorba Linda Downtown, which has revitalized the area and made it a pleasant place to hang out. Unfortunately, on weekends, it's hard to find parking sometimes. Fortunately we came on a weekday and got parking nearby. Inside, Apola is clean and tidy with roughly enough tables and chairs for a variety of party sizes. The Conclusion: Apola offers good Mediterranean-inspired food for a reasonable price (compared to other restaurants these days) -- just don't expect it to be 100% authentic Greek food. It's not perfect and not super cheap, but with the right expectations set, I plan to return on semi-regular basis.

Although some people may see the price tags and wince, they do not skimp on portions. They will fill your plate to the absolute brim, give you one huge pita, and send you on your way. The flavors on the food are nothing to scoff at either. The hummus, tabbouleh, and beef skewer are absolute hits. Flavorful bites with the perfect amount of balance between the acidity of the tabbouleh, the light and rich hummus, and the meatiness of the beef. The shrimp skewer is tasty as well but not something I think I'd get again. The rice pairs well with everything, and as I've mentioned before, the humongous pita they give you is delicious as well.
