I was looking for a nice brunch spot and a friend recommended me this place. There's a back parking lot which can be hard to find with minimal parking spots. This plaza is shared with a couple of other businesses. I was shocked to find a brunch spot here as it's quite tiny. Thankfully we got seated right away. You order at the kiosk in front of the cashier and pay before you get seated. I ordered the matcha latte and French toast combo. The matcha latte was SO delicious- the latte art was also super cute. The French toast combo on the other hand was a bit of a let down. The bacon and eggs were your typical and tasted normal, same with the French toast. I wish the eggs were a bit tastier or seasoned- and felt that it wasn't worth the price I had paid. Regardless this was a super lowkey restaurant to chat and hang with friends! My family and tried this brunch establishment after Easter Sunday. And boy were we glad. While this is not a fancy establishment the food was delicious. What I feel we were most impressed with were that they made much of the side condiments in-house. For example, spicy mayo, pico de gallo, homemade guacamole and tomatillo sauce. The combination of these homemade sauces to complement their very tasty breakfast burritos were on point. Additionally, the waffles we tried had great texture and freshly cut fruit in season. The strawberries, bananas, blueberries, mangoes and kiwi were so fresh and satisfying that we did not even need to use syrup. A family owned vibe with high quality food. I had the opportunity to explore Pasadena as my boyfriend and I were planning to spend the day at Huntington Library. There are many cafes with great reviews in Pasadena so it was a bit tough to choose. We don't regret choosing Old Town Caffe at all. Note - this cafe is upstairs in a small shopping mall. When you walk up the stairs, you cannot miss it. Parking - it's typical downtown parking - there's street parking and paid garage parking - and it can be a challenge, especially during prime time hours. We parked at the hotel parking which we loved because we got to walk through the beautiful lobby and have a photo session! Restroom - it's available but you need to be escorted as you need to leave the cafe to walk around to it. Coffee - my boyfriend loved his cafe mocha and I absolutely LOVEEEEE my Cafe de Olla. I love it so much I know I'll crave it. Breakfast burrito - boyfriend loved this as well, he said it's one of the best he's ever had Bagel sandwich - good, loved my salad!!!! Aesthetics - cute with the hanging plants and dark bench and tables Indoor cafe - it's not overwhelming big. It's enough for couples and a small family to eat but I would not recommend it for large parties. Customer service - there was one cashier and one barista. With that said, you might need some patience. It took a while to get our food but even longer to get our coffees. It's not a deal breaker because we genuinely enjoyed our food and coffees. I think I found my new breakfast spot. So, this place really is a nook; you kinda need to know where it is and if you're willing to walk upstairs for food (I don't know about wheelchair accessibility). This is part cafe, part restaurant but yummy goodness all around. When I first arrived, I explained it was my first time there and the lady behind the counter was so nice and patient. She even offered to answer any questions I may have had. Seriously? Super sweet. After making an excruciating hard breakfast decision, I settled on the mini waffles with fruit and Nutella. I also chose an iced coffee drink. Can I tell you they are very generous with the size? A large is just that! Omg So into breakfast - the waffles were perfect! Perfectly crisp. The Nutella, fruit, and whipped cream combo is something I didn't realize would work together and it did without it it being overly sweet! Who knew?? So the only caveat is it's upstairs. What a cute café! I love the chill vibe. It is a good place to catch up with friends, a first date, or even do some work on the laptop. I love breakfast and old town caffe serves breakfast all day! I got the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was loaded with eggs, guacamole, pico de gallo, black beans, breakfast potatoes, and Shredded jack cheese! I recommend no modifications! The eggs were like soft scrambled, just the way I like it. I recommend loading it up even more with both bacon and chicken sausage. Both proteins were so good, along with all the items in the burrito. I got a hot Spanish Latte. The first sip got me going "MMMMM" out loud before realizing there were others around me who could hear me. This was one of the best Spanish Latte I ever had. I'm not a fan of super sweet drinks, and this had the perfect amount of sweet. It was fun seeing the barista work his magic behind the counter. If you also order a hot drink to-go, don't forget to pop the lid and check out the latte art! I got a heart. Starting off by saying I am not from the area, and therefore unfamiliar with what the local eats are. A quick look at what was around, this place caught my eye and as a regular enjoyer of small cafes and cozy vibes, I decided to check it out and was happy to find that i made a good decision! The staff was super friendly, and attentive. The vibes are friendly and cozy, feels like I'm having coffee at a friend's place. And the food was incredible. Good thing I ordered ahead of time on yelp and had my food ready for pickup to go as I was in a rush to a doctor's appointment. There's a few tables and chairs outside, good for 2 people or there's also indoor seating. We ordered a waffle combo which came with eggs and 4 slices of bacon. I 1000% recommend this restaurant! When I say that this has to be a hidden gem, believe me, it is. I can only comment on the breakfast because that's all we ordered. We first ordered breakfast and picked it up to bring back to our Airbnb. When I tell you that everyone was pleased, everyone was pleased. Everything tasted so fresh, from the eggs, to the pancakes, to the waffles, to the home fries. You get the point. We ordered a lot and enjoyed every bit. The pancakes and waffles were cooked perfectly and came with fresh fruit and decorative flowers. The home fries were crispy, but not dry. We enjoyed the food so much, that I actually called them back to thank them for such a great meal. The guy who answered was very appreciative of that. We actually visited the restaurant for breakfast (again) on our last morning in Pasadena, and invited a friend who lives in Pasadena and said that she now has a new breakfast spot to go to. This is a small restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating that feels more geared towards grab & go due to the small tables and limited seating. The seating outdoors was cramped and right by the stairs so people were constantly trying to squeeze by to get in and out of the cafe. We came in on Sunday morning around 11am and it was packed and despite how packed it was - service was great and food came in a reasonable amount of time. Now to the food and drinks. We ordered a London fog, drip coffee, breakfast burrito with bacon and a salmon avocado toast. The London fog was delicious - frothy and a bit sweet. The breakfast burrito was solid - tortilla was pliable and crispy and held up well while eating. It was a well stuffed burrito - we walked away feeling good, not too greasy. Solid cafe breakfast burrito but not anything I'd drive across town for. The aioli on the side was a nice addition. I wished they had some made salsa/hot sauce. The salmon avocado toast had a nice amount of salmon and avocado on the toast. The toast was underwhelming - seemed like a pretty plain piece of bread you could buy at a grocery store. There were lots of people, but our food came out at a good time! The decor was nice as well. The crepe we ordered was thick, like just a flat pancake. It was good, and the portions were great for the price. But I wish it was thinner like how crepes usually are. It also had lots of whipped cream, but it was light and tasted homemade :) The waffles were good, just wish it had a bit for fruit. We had to ask for syrup and ketchup, as it is not on the table, nor does it come on the side with the dish. We also got the salmon avocado toast which was okay. Wish there was more tomato, since they only gave 1 roma tomato cut in half. The dish was good! The drinks we got were decent as well. The strawberry matcha was decent, too much strawberry compared to the matcha. The sweet coffee and the turmeric tea was decent as well. This place was a nice cafe to enjoy. Super sweet cafe! I got the peanut butter acai bowl and a matcha latte. The acai was literally the consistency of ice cream!!! Sooo yummy and all the toppings were flavorful and fresh. The matcha latte was also wonderful and not too sugary. The menu is fairly priced imo and the ambiance is really cute. I came to do some work, they shared the wifi password with me. However, I didn't see any available outlets to sit and charge my laptop so come with a full battery. The only feedback I have is that the drink and bowl both came out in disposables/with a plastic spoon even though the order was "for here". Would love to see some reusables next time! read more

Overall pretty good but today went in and ordered the French toast combo but on then menu price was $14 ish but the man said it was $19 ish..I asked why and he said the prices changed but menu hasn't been updated. I thought it was odd because other restaurants use tape to revise prices or post a sign. Either way the French toast was ok and bacon was really crispy/burnt. Wow! This place was amazing! We wanted to have some breakfast so we walked over from the Pasadena hotel (2min walk) to find this little gem upstairs. We ordered the Deluxe Waffle which was probably the best Waffles I've ever had. Had strawberry, kiwi and acai ice cream and Nutella. We also ordered the avocado toast. We were seated pretty quickly outside, it was a smaller area and a smaller restaurant. The restroom is located outside, you kinda share it with the employees but it's no biggie. Another thing to mention is, there was a homeless guy yelling and screaming at some security who was telling him to leave, which kinda disturbed the peace but they weren't around when we walked back to the hotel. One line summary - hidden gem restaurant in a janky mall. What a surprise find! Aside from a very small and not so attractive restaurant, everything else was perfect. Ambience- when we first arrived, I almost turned back after seeing such a small restaurant packed with people. Restaurant has a very corner store vibe of 80's & 90's. I don't like overly crowded place so I was little hesitant to go in. Food - And Im glad I did. Probably one of the best breakfast burrito in town right along with Organico's breakfest burrito. So many combination of texture and flavor all jammed packed and somehow working beautifully. Make sure to get it with rheir homemade salsa verde. French toast was pretty good, not too soggy but not anything to praise about. I also got a glass of cold brew and boy, is this big. It's prob 2.5 times the size of starvy grande cup. Coffee was ok good, just not my preferred flavor profile in coffee but definitely helped me stay up til 1am that day. Service was also top notch. Super friendly staff.
