    Turkey and cornbread dressing
    Katie A.

This was our first stop in Pigeon Forge and we had a great experience. There was a wait but it they seated people quickly. Our waiter was very nice and helpful when asking for dish recommendations. I had the turkey dinner meal and the cornbread dressing was amazing! The green beans were soggy and not flavorful but everything else we ordered was great. Other dishes enjoyed at the table were the boiled catfish and chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were really well flavored. Great spot for good ole southern comfort food.

So good came here 3 times. Everything from breakfast to dinner was amazing. The food is truly home made and high quality in every aspect. Everything tasted amazing and portions and huge. You definitely will not leave hungry of unsatisfied. The value for you money is best meal in pigeon forge as well.

We had heard a lot about the Old Mill and trying this out if visiting. Once pulling up and checking in this gave us the same vibes of St. Augustine. Very crowded when we arrived and were told a 30 minute wait but were called much quicker. The decor is amazing and the views depending what floor your on determine if you can view the river. The lower floors have those views. The service was good but definitely stretched so you may not see them often. The food was pretty good, you can tell this was scratch and made with care. Get here early if you want to try them out.

We love the Old Mill Restaurant. Probably our favorite in Pigeon Forge. Down home cooking at its best. It was extremely busy when we arrived but definitely worth the wait. As with any busy restaurant , it was loud, but it didn't bother us. Johnny was on the spot today. Our favorite server, Santiago, was only taking large tables according to the hostess who could have been kinder, but Johnny definitely filled his place well. The corn chowder was amazing as were the corn fritters. Piping hot. Husband ordered the Country Fried Chicken with the gravy on the side. Added Cole slaw. I had the Pot roast with slaw instead of green beans. Everything was incredibly delicious! Food was perfect and the service on point. Always worth the wait. No time wasted when you get food as great as this.

The Old Mill is a must stop every time we're in the Smoky Mountains! All the food is delicious and the service is always great!

I have mixed feelings about this place and if I could rate it separately on the restaurant experience and the food, I would. I'll start with the positive - the food is better than expected. My catfish dinner was tasty and hot. Each meal comes with a variety of sides, corn fritters, salad, soup and dessert and everything exceeded my expectations as far as quality goes. The value is good and portions plentiful. We ended up taking my husbands entire chicken pot pie to go as we were already full by the time our entrees came out. The only disappointment food-wise was that they were out of banana pudding by time we ordered dessert, but the pecan pie was a great consolation. That said, the overall experience of this place is exactly what you'd expect from a touristy restaurant turning over hoards of people as quickly as possible. From beginning to end, it felt like I was eating at Disney World, from the Big Thunder Mountain-like queue (and hour plus wait) to the nondescript, somewhat dirty dining rooms. Our server was efficient and nice, but was obviously extremely busy, as were the dozens of others scurrying around with huge trays full of food. Overall, I'd average the food 4 stars with the experience 2 stars, for an overall 3 stars. It's not a place I'll itch to return to, but I wasn't sorry we went either.

Waited 1.25 hours to get in and it was so worth it. Hubby got the pot pie which was huge!! He also got the pecan pie for dessert which was delicious!! I got the turkey dinner which was absolutely delicious. Along with the fritters, soup, salad, green beans and mashed potatoes with our meal. My husband who doesn't even like turkey took a bite and said it was really good. Savannah was our server and she was attentive and answered all of our questions since this was the first time dining here. She's a gem. I got the chocolate cake for dessert and Savannah told me that it was really decadent. It was and I would have preferred getting the pecan pie. Dinner at Old Mill was fantastic! Highly recommend despite the wait. Can shop around the area or visit their store or do a tasting at their distillery while waiting.

We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner on a Friday in June, based on a recommendation from close relatives who had visited about a year ago. The place appeared busy, and we were told there would be about a 20-minute wait for a party of two. Judging by the size of the ramp leading to the entrance, we imagine it gets much busier during peak times. While we waited, we were told our name would be called over the intercom system, which reaches both the outside area and the adjacent Old Mill General Store. We took the opportunity to browse the store while waiting. After a brief visit to the General Store, we made our way back up the ramp and spent a few moments reading the informational signs about the mill's history. Soon after, our name was called, and we were seated. Shortly after placing our drink orders, we were brought corn fritters and corn chowder. I hadn't had a chance to request the vegetable beef soup instead, but when my wife asked if I could switch out my soup, our server, Natalie, was happy to accommodate. She was kind and provided polite, attentive service throughout the meal. My wife ordered the Meatloaf, and I chose the Pot Roast and Gravy. The food was good, but everything about the experience felt incredibly scripted--like a well-oiled machine focused on volume and turnover. This is not the kind of place we would typically choose. While it's efficient and the décor is charming, the overall atmosphere felt commercialized and impersonal. From the check-in process to paying our bill, we felt more like a number than guests. Natalie did a fine job, but the system itself lacks warmth or authenticity. There was no real engagement or sense of connection to the experience. For that reason, we wouldn't return. If you're curious, it might be worth stopping by once to see the place--but for those looking for something more personal or unique, we recommend exploring options off the beaten path.

So to start off it was a 45 min to 1 hour long wait. But the wait didn't last long cause there is tons of shops to go shop around in while waiting. And there is a benches outside of the place where you can sit by the river and watch the wildlife. Also this place may not be wheelchair accessible/friendly there was a ton of stairs around (including getting into the place). I saw one wheelchair elevator by the checkout area to get to the downstairs area. Our server was super nice didn't chat with us long though because they were super busy. Alright let's get to the food is was AMAZING they give you a ton of food. Everything we ate was delicious. And I have a tummy ache writing this from eating too much

I love good Southern cooking and this place was excellent. We had a thirty minute wait which seemed to go by quickly. It is a comfortable wait outside if you are visiting from out of town with pamphlets for things to do and maps on the long ramp up to the restaurant. This place is huge inside, super- busy and runs like a well-oiled machine. We were a party of seven and once we were seated our humorous, good natured, and sarcastic waiter took excellent care of us. All meals came with corn fritters and corn chowder (not vegetarian) which was fantastic. I ordered a Reuben for lunch and it was as delicious as any deli would offer. As busy as this place is, our server was extremely attentive to every need and made us laugh (which was a complete bonus). I would love to come here again for dinner next time. This was an excellent experience and such a warm welcome to the area. This place welcomes tourists. A must do if you are visiting the area.

Chicken and dumplings and country fried steak.

We enjoyed our meals here at Old Mill Restaurant. My only "gripe" - we went later thinking it wouldn't be busy... ha! Were we ever wrong. We waiting an hour and 15 mins for a table for 2. But the wait was worth it. They have a streamlined operation for sure. You put your name in and they will call you over a speaker system (that even goes into their store next door! Once seated, our server was there immediately. We had drinks within a minute and ordered. Salads and cornbread nuggets came out in the next 5 mins (or less!). Meals followed in maybe about 10 mins. Piping hot and very good. I didn't realize it was "family style" with the sides. We got a bowl of mashed potatoes and green beans with our dinners: Chicken and Dumplings for me, country fried chicken for my husband. Big servings so we have left overs for dinner tonight. Dessert is also included with dinner! Banana pudding and pecan pie (to go!).

Following the recommendation of my Yelp elites and tons of others we visited this restaurant. This is one of oldest restaurants in America and everything about this place is unique. The country vibe, decor and the ducks outside made it so beautiful. The southern hospitality as its best and EVERY dish prepared had a finest and amazing flavor. We ordered the country BBQ ribs with an order of the country fried chicken. Our dish came with soup, house salad, mashed potatoes and a dessert. As for drink we had the sweet tea. All am going to say about the entire experience is it was AMAZING. We enjoyed every bite. The ribs were tender, the chicken savory and very tasty. The hospitality of the staff was top notch and we had refills on our drinks without even asking and We didn't even had to wait much time for a table. Special recognition for the staff that works in the kitchen and the bakery. The deserts were wonderful. Thank you for making every dish with so much love! PS: The pecan pie and ice cream will make you want to come back for more!

Food was pretty good. I had the fried chicken and it was juicy and piping hot. I liked the seasoning in the breading as well. We came with a large group and the reviews seemed to be that some food seriously lacked flavor. The corn fritters for the table were the highlight with the maple butter they gave. I could've eaten the entire basket. You definitely get a lot of food for the price so good value there. Our server was friendly, but it was not clear to many people that there was a charge for sharing a plate. While we understand why you'd be charged as the sides and items are family style, there needs to be better communication from the staff when it's ordered.

From the moment we sat down, the food just kept coming . fried chicken that was crispy and juicy, fluffy biscuits, creamy mac and cheese, and sides that tasted straight out of someone's grandma's recipe box. The online menu gave plenty of eye candy and we were absolutely starving by the time we arrived Friday evening. The staff was very attentive and kind. It's clear that this place is fully operated by word-of-mouth and return guests. It's a huge establishment with several rooms by big fireplaces and Lazy Susan's to pass around the family style meal. The menu was a little difficult to navigate so many options laid out, but only certain options available per day. So ultimately, we were not able to order exactly what we wanted, but we ordered what was available for Friday, which was the Salisbury steak, fried fish, and fried chicken. All of these meats came in a small portion to split amongst our three people, and with unlimited sides. Some of the sides were pretty impressive. I would have to say my favorite side was the broccoli casserole, followed by the mashed potatoes and gravy, which were real potatoes! The mac & cheese was more on the creamy side versus the gooey cheesy side. Unfortunately, some of our chicken was undercooked, and the skin was very thin and not too crispy. The fish was decent, not dried out whatsoever, which is a pretty good compliment. While my coworker said that the chicken and dumplings were her favorite, I failed to enjoy them :( All in all, this was not our favorite restaurant from our trip this weekend and it appears that big groups and big families really do enjoy dining at this establishment.

    (149 reviews)

Chubby's is a classic restaurant that offers American comfort food. The great dinner feel of the…read moreplace is an excellent representation of the bygone era of the traditional dinner. It has a real down home feel. The place offers burgers (Mushroom Swiss, BBQ Burger), sandwiches (Cheesesteaks, Reuben, BLT, Chicken Sandwiches with Ranch/Buffalo options), and hearty baskets with fried chicken, cod, or shrimp, plus breakfast served all day, desserts (chocolate pie!), and options like pork chops or steak. They have someone thing for everyone. Everything is cooked to ordered. We started off with deep fried deviled eggs. My wife had the Beef Stroganoff. While I had the House Smash Burger. The stroganoff is served in a wide, shallow bowl that showcases the sauce's glossy sheen and the generous scatter of sautéed mushrooms. Steam carries a rounded, savory bouquet: beef-forward notes, toasty browned butter, and the faint acid of a finishing touch -- likely a splash of vinegar, wine, or lemon -- that hints the sauce will be bright rather than cloying. The presentation is simple and effective: no unnecessary frills, just clear evidence that plate composition exists to showcase the food's strengths. The sauce is the star: a glossy, velvety emulsion built on a brown stock backbone, enriched with sour cream (or a light cultured cream), and tempered with mustard and a touch of acidity. The mushrooms are properly caramelized, offering an earthy counterpoint and slight chew that complements the tender beef. Onions are present but not intrusive; garlic and a whisper of thyme or parsley frame the dish without flattening the primary flavors. Chubby's pairs the stroganoff with broad egg noodles -- they're al dente-yielding and capture the sauce in their folds, which makes each mouthful a composed, layered bite rather than separate elements awkwardly forced together. The Smash Burger was an equal masterpiece as well. In an era when burgers can feel formulaic and predictable, the SMASH Triple Burger with Chubby Sauce at Chubby's Restaurant stands out not just as a meal, but as a culinary statement, mine was constructed of three thin-pressed beef patties -- each seared to achieve that iconic lace of caramelization -- deliver an intoxicating aroma of grilled beef that primes the palate for something special. The smash technique here isn't a gimmick; it's a masterstroke that intensifies the beef's flavor while maintaining juiciness through every layer, a testament to precise heat management on the griddle. The Chubby Sauce, a house specialty that earns its name with rich, tangy complexity, serves as the burger's soul. It marries creamy umami with a whisper of sweetness and a balanced acidity that cuts through the savory heft of the triple stack. This sauce is not merely a condiment -- it's the architectural glue that binds texture and taste, elevating each bite into a chorus of complementary notes. What makes this experience remarkable was how it balances bold indulgence with thoughtful restraint: the trio of patties makes a statement, yet the burger never feels overwhelmingly heavy. Each layer interacts harmoniously, and the Chubby Sauce is nothing short of inspired -- tangy yet creamy, bold yet nuanced. We topped it all off with pie. My wife had the peanut butter while I opted for the Apple pie was our desert. Dessert at Chubby's often arrives with the quiet confidence of a house specialty, and the both the Apple & Peanut Butter Pie is no exception. If you think you've had every version of apple pie, this one will surprise you. Chubby's Apple Pie is warm, comforting, and brilliantly balanced. The apples are tender and spiced just right, the crust is buttery and flaky. The peanut butter pie has a subtle, savory richness that keeps the dessert from being overly sweet. It's indulgent without being heavy and memorable in the best way. An absolute must-order if you save room for dessert. This was a great dining experience and in a tourist dominated area, this place stands out as real down home cooking that your grandmother made. Highly recommend, this is one the most stop sites if you are in the area.
