We come to Pigeon Forge quite often and never visit the numerous pancake houses. We always go somewhere else. This time we decided to stop and stopped at the first one on the left as your leaving Gatlinburg driving into Pigeon Forge. It's not as big as some of the ones I've seen but don't let that stop you from trying this Gem! Upon arrival everything was decorated so cute for Christmas. The staff were all so nice and chatty. I ordered a omelette with bacon, sausage and ham ( protein ya know ) and it was perfectly cooked. No crispy edges and I had grits and they were delicious. My husband got the corned beef hash and it was so so good and was crispy. Everything was cooked perfectly and they give you your own carafe of coffee . Came here for the pineapple upside down pancakes. They didn't disappoint. However, the bacon was a greasy floppy mess even though I ordered it extra crispy. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and even took the time to chat with us. Place was meh-looking, like a random boring diner with booths. Service was markedly slow and we were just three people. The blueberry lemon pancake was very good and pretty big. The big bear breakfast platter I had was ho-hum. The scrambled eggs were not good and the grits were bland. The casserole and biscuit were pretty good. The bacon was overdone, crispy and tasteless. There's a million pancake houses in this area, but looks like we chose a somewhat disappointing one. I saw the health inspection score is 94. I'm not sure why. It was very clean. My utensils was even warm. The menu was high. The the sides and add ons was a little pricy. The quantity was good. Loved the hashbrown casserole! Very creamy cheesy goodness with the potatoes. This was my favorite thing to eat. Cream cheese pancake was yummy. I reduced from 3 to 2 pancakes and it was still too much for me to handle. The cream cheese filling was okay. Just a bit in the sweet side. The pancake themselves were a bit dry imo. My hubby's pancakes had a hair in it. So we sent it back as that was very upsetting as we waited a bit to get our food as others got theirs b4 us even after being seated later. My pet peeve was our booth table was next to the busboy station. In which it was extremely unsettling talking to someone and the busboy is standing right behind your table. I couldn't enjoy my food with the feeling of being watched. Had to switch seat sides. Busboy area should never be near/in the dining area. Period. Our waiter, Richard, was very accommodating. However, he should have offered to comp the meal, offer to fix something else in the house, and apologize for the hair being in the food. But he didn't. Solid 4 stars for Smoky's Pancake Cabin not to be confused with the Pancake House. Found this spot off Yelp and some great reviews and people weren't wrong. We got there early so there were a few others there but within minutes the parking lot and seat weee full. The decor made us feel like we were sitting in someone home kitchen and the service from our server Megan was outstanding!!! The food was out quick and was not only hot off the griddle but soooo FRESH!!! We all enjoyed every bite!! Portions are huge and filling. You have so many choices in Pigeon Forge make sure to make this one of your stops!!! P.S. my only criticism is the sweet tea was not sweet at all but that's nothing in the grand scheme. read more

I really don't know the appeal of this place. My family and I vacation here and we wanted to try a new place. First off their menu items all have pancakes as a side which stinks if you're not a big pancake fan. I ended up getting their mountain man breakfast platter which was touted as a large hearty meal. When it arrived I have to say it was severely disappointed. One small piece of bacon, one small grizzly piece of ham, and one out of the box and burnt sausage patty. The scrambled eggs were also over cooked. The biscuits and gravy had a delicious biscuit but the gravy was just pathetic. Also appeared to be out of the box, bland, with zero meat in the gravy. The only highlight of the entire meal was the breakfast potatoes as they were cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. I'm from Chicago and I really wanted a hearty southern breakfast but this place is not authentic at all and most of what they serve appears to be out of the box. If it is homemade, that's just a damn shame. The portion sizes are way too small. I'm 155lbs and I ate the entire mountain man platter and still left hungry. I'd seek out more authentic option in the area as this place appears to cater to tourists which is reflected in their higher prices, small portion, and poor quality of food. read more

We happened upon this place on our way to Dollywood. It was a last second decision and I'm really glad we stopped in for breakfast. I ordered two eggs with corned beef hash and pancakes. My friend got the fiesta skillet and biscuits. I like eggs over easy and they were perfectly cooked. The corned beef hash came from a can, but I prefer this kind over the house made variety. It was nicely done with crispy bits. The pancakes were huge and delicious. My friend's skillet was especially good with scrambled eggs, refried beans, onions, bell pepper, melted cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. I stole a few bites and it was yummy. The coffee was excellent and they leave a carafe on the table. The real stand-out were the biscuits. We expected one basic biscuit and were very pleasantly surprised to get two large ones. They were golden brown, perfectly crisp and crunchy on the outside, and fluffy and tender on the inside. The flavor was absolutely divine! They were easily the best biscuits I've ever had. The only issue we had was that some of the food wasn't hot. The pancakes, hash, and biscuits were piping hot, but the rest was lukewarm. Any other time we probably would have sent it back, but everything was so delicious that we ate it anyway! The service was great and our waitress was very attentive. Gatlinburg was a bust, Dollywood sucked, and our motel was a dump, but this restaurant was the highlight of our trip. I absolutely recommend it. Gatlinburg was way too crowded to park our F250 for a quick food fix, so we headed back down to Pigeon Forge and stopped at the first place with parking. Just in time too, seems we were the last customers before closing for the afternoon. The buttermilk pancakes were screamin'! I added a side of bacon to get my sweet and savory fix-me-up. Hubby was more than satisfied w/his ham & cheese omelet & hash browns. Our waitress was sweet as pie, and even though they were closing up, she told us to take our time. But being stuffed to the teeth, we were ready to be rolled out the door & on to our next adventure. If you're in the area, these pancakes are the hot ticket. This particular one is a very popular one located in the pigeon forge area. Like most of the pancake houses in the area this has a cozy, southern home laid back atmosphere and vibe. The service we received here was outstanding. Our waitress was phenomenal and great with us and our five kids. For our entrees I personally got the Reese's Pancakes. They looked very tasty and had nice flavor to backup. Had peanut butter sauce and crumbled Reese's on the top. If I could add one thing it would probably be whip cream. Very good but just felt like it was missing a little extra something. My younger kids got the tasty and adorable bear shaped waffle. They almost felt it was too cute to eat but in the end hunger prevailed. My oldest daughter got the Fiesta Omelet. She said it was tasty and filling and she was very satisfied. My wife got Big Dave's Breakfast which is a massive platter of all the traditional breakfast favorites. She said it was good and the sausage in particular was very good. Sweet mercy I had a spiritual moment when I took my first bite of the Lemon Berry pancakes. It truly tasted like heaven. I'm not much of a pancake eater, but a relative took us here and urged us to try the pancakes. So happy I listened! The pancakes were perfectly cooked, packed with flavor.
