"Truly southern eggs Benedict"
Lydia C.

We had a great weekend lunch/brunch at Pottery House Cafe. We were seated outside on the front patio and ordered the truly southern eggs benedict and a soup and salad plate with a scoop of chicken salad. We felt like the eggs benedict was a must try when visiting TN because it had a lot of local flavors- fried green tomatoes, pimento hollandaise, and a biscuit. I really loved the soup and salad plate because it allowed me to try a few different menu items, the loaded baked potato soup, the strawberry spinach salad, and the chicken salad (+$2.50), as well as a piece of homemade cinnamon raisin bread. Service was quick and friendly and the server was very accommodating to our requests and the requests of those around us.

On a road trip in Pigeon Forge when we came across Old Mill Pottery House Café that serves classic Southern comfort food with a charming atmosphere. The setting is cozy and inviting, perfectly fitting the Old Mill vibe and making it a relaxing place to sit down and enjoy a meal. There was a bit of a wait for a table when we checked in with the host. I ordered the fried green tomatoes made with Old Mill's fried green tomato breading & served with original Old Mill's avocado ranch dressing. The fried green tomatoes were a bit over-fried and the batter had a bit of burnt taste unfortunately. I was excited about the pecan-crusted fried chicken, and split that with my mom. It came with two chicken breasts that were perfect for splitting and lightly breaded in a pecan breading and fried. Topped with Old Forge's French toast moonshine sauce and chopped pecans. Served with a baked sweet potato. The chicken was juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and the pecan crust added a rich, slightly sweet flavor that made it feel special without being overdone. Portions were generous, the food came out hot and fresh, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, it's a great spot for authentic Southern flavors and a memorable dining experience.

Half salad and soup

Sit in the front room because the back room has a very old and off putting smell. Chips appetizer had a thin layer of cheese in the middle, leaving the rest of the chips naked. Some were overcooked. Chicken tenders was large and clean. Everyone liked the fries. Patty melt would have been good, but it was super salty.

I'd like to start off saying I typically won't post a review unless it was phenomenal because I want to promote small business owners. We have vacationed in the area on a regular basis but had always gone to the "big Old Mill restaurant" but so many people on Yelp were giving glowing reviews about the cafe, so we decided to check it out. The menu is great. Lots of unique twists on regular items. The server was excellent! Our food experience was not excellent. Three of us got the lunch combo of a sandwich and a bowl of soup. One got the chicken tenders. It was 25° when we visited and we needed some warm wholesome food to fill our souls. The issue I had was the temperature of my food. Barely warm baked potato soup the grilled cheese must have been sitting so long because the cheese was back in a solid /plastic looking state. No warm gooey cheese one would expect on a three cheese grilled cheese. (I would also bet there was only one cheese on it as I didn't taste Gruyere at all. The chicken tenders were excellent. Fresh, nothing previously frozen. The desserts looked phenomenal but we didn't try them. Coconut cream pie, hot fudge pie, and the cakes....might go back tomorrow just to give dessert a try.

Really tasty bread

Great food and service. Choice of inside our outdoor dining. We started with some really tasty bread, and an appetizer, Chicken Livers. I don't think that they did anything wrong with these. My wife and I hadn't had chicken livers in approximately forever, and then it was in the form of a spread on dark rye bread (which we liked). But full-on chicken livers--we are now pretty confident that they are not our thing. The restaurant insisted on taking them off our bill, even though we told them that we didn't think they did anything wrong. Let's move on from that unpleasantness. My wife had an Open Faced Roast Beef sandwich that came with mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples. She hadn't had one of these (which she calls a "Manhattan sandwich") in years, and loved it. I had the Beef Short Ribs, served over cheddar cheese grits. Delicious. I had it with the Tomato Basil soup, which I also enjoyed a great deal. We ended with Chocolate Pecan Pie, which we split. (Who am I kidding? My wife doesn't like chocolate in her pecan pie. So, except for a bite, it was mine!)

This place had an great lunch deal with half a sandwich and soup. I had their French onion and it was delicious. What surprised me the most was the sangria I had, it was perfect and flavorful. The service was good and fast. The place was definitely packed for lunch but quick seating.

As always, PHC was amazing. My go to is always the smoky mountain cheesesteak. The bread MAKES the sandwich. Their sour dough is so fresh and savory. Fries, and a pickle spear are perfect pairings. Can never go wrong here with hospitality, food or ambiance. Shop while you wait for a table, and their intercom system operates throughout the shops.

Great place with expansive seating area offering a yummy and affordable menu. Came in for the fried pickles and they were delicious! And the portion size was huge. They also make other southern yummies and make fresh bread daily that they sell here. Service was friendly and prompt. Definitely would try other items here :)

This cafe is the cutest and quaint restaurant. Their fresh bread is made daily with their own grain and served on their handmade pottery plates!

We love Pottery House!! Every time I visit my mom and step dad and we come up to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood we stop by here for dinner and it never disappoints! They have a wide variety of food options on the menu. First you must order their fresh bread that they make in house. It's a whole loaf and it comes out nice and hot and served with fluffy butter. Yum! We didn't order an appetizer this time but in the past we've had the fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. This time I ordered their chicken salad & wedge salad and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We love that they use their own pottery pieces for dishes. The gift store is super cute and we always enjoy looking at all the pottery pieces. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

It was cozy and the food was good. As you walk in to the restaurant you are welcomed with the smell of delicious fresh made bread and great servuce. Defently a good family spot. Enjoy.

The Pottery House Cafe is ALWAYS a treat! The food was delicious which was great because while our server, Rebecca, was kind, she was MIA for much of our visit. She was either at other tables taking orders and bringing their food or no where in the dining area to be seen. There were two tables of guests that came in after us and received their food before us. They even left before our food arrived. Thankfully, our food was hot and tasty when it arrived. The long wait on food is not typical Pottery House service, which was surprising to us since we have gone there many times. Fortunately, this is an enjoyable place to sit and enjoy the view out the window, but it would have been nice to get our food sooner. I would still encourage everyone to try the Potteryhouse!

Does anyone know what kind of bread they bring to the table ? My daughter had a severe allergic reaction after eating here and we're trying to figure it out.

Not exactly sure, think it has cranberries in it. I would call the restaurant and ask them.

After joining the waitlist online before driving to the restaurant, we were seated immediately upon arrival at a high top in the bar area. I enjoyed the chill vibe. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye. Our server said it was his favorite thing on the menu and I could see why. The steak was cooked perfectly. It was marinated in pineapple ginger sauce and then basted with teriyaki. It was absolutely juicy and delicious. I highly recommend this steak, which rivals the steaks at any of those over-priced steakhouses. The steak came with a salad and I chose the house lemon dressing. I continue to dream about this creamy, slightly salty dressing. They should definitely bottle it and sell it! I chose a baked sweet potato for a side and it was huge and unfortunately not cooked through, but I enjoyed the fully cooked parts. My husband ordered the Killin Me Burger, a full pound of meat with onion straws and thousand Island dressing on a brioche bun. He said it was the best burger he's ever had and my man knows his burgers! The bun was struggling, so my only suggestion is a sturdier bun. A really magnificent meal at a fun place! I've put it on my favorites list.

Anyway, we gave it another try recently because we had always loved it so much. Chloe was our server and she redeemed JT Hannah's for us. We had been looking at the French Dip, but Chloe recommended doing the Philly Cheesesteak instead while deleting the green peppers and substituting jalapeños. Then, order the consummé for dipping. What a delicious idea! The sandwich was EXCELLENT with the consummé and the side of horseradish! The Buffalo Chips were a tasty side. The restaurant is always a fun atmosphere with the rustic decor. You should give JT Hannah's a go! Ask for Chloe!

It took a bit for our server to come acknowledge us but once he did, he was very helpful and attentive. My boyfriend ordered a peach Kentucky mule (they originally said they couldn't make that, which we questioned with it being a distillery, but our server came back and said they could after all). He enjoyed it and said it's one of the better ones he's had! We both ordered smash burgers and sweet potato fries - I had the junction 35 (pimento cheese + bacon jam) and he had the farmhouse (bacon + fried egg). Both were amazing! Juicy burgers, perfect size patties for smash burgers, the buns were fresh and held up nicely, and the toppings were great. Sweet potato fries had a great crunch and were seasoned really well. Service was great, food was high quality and had great flavor, and the dog friendly patio was perfect for our pup. It's located in a nice little strip of shops and restaurants, and has a common area of cornhole and other games that would be fun for an activity before/after dinner, or if you have kids in tow. We'd definitely make another trip here when in the area.
