We have driven by here for years and finally tried it after many YouTube and TikTok food reviewers convinced us. We will never come to Pigeon Forge and not eat here, now! It was crowded and loud, but the speed of service, good food, and great service was worth it! Thankfully my husband put us on the list and we had a 45 minute wait but we were able to hang out in the car super close by (we have a 4 year old to entertain) and then we went to check in closer to our time to be called in. The food we got was delicious! The chips and cheese dip have been on my mind for a few months now since we went. I can't wait to go again in November! read more

3.1... Pottery House Café -- Pigeon Forge, TN We've eaten at the Pottery House Café several times over the years, and unfortunately, this was by far our worst experience. So I guess everybody has an off day. Unfortunately, this one felt like they were having an off week. I had the triple-decker sandwich and loaded potato soup combo. The sandwich was good, but it definitely needed more of the sweet onion sauce. There must have been a shortage of sweet onions because they were apparently rationing that stuff. The loaded potato soup had really good flavor, but it wasn't even close to being hot enough. It was more lukewarm potato soup than loaded potato soup. Apparently, the potatoes got more of a warm bath than a hot tub. We also ordered the loaded potato chips as an appetizer, and they were good, but there seemed to be about half the cheese on them that there normally is. I guess the cheese was also on a budget that day. My wife ordered the quesadilla -- well, technically it was a quesadilla wrap -- which consisted of a very small amount of chicken and approximately 16 pounds of cheese. At some point, it stopped being a chicken quesadilla and became an extremely cheesy wrap that happened to have met a chicken once. We also had a house salad, which was pretty underwhelming. Honestly, it was more of a side salad pretending to be a house salad. And considering the amount of cheese in my wife's quesadilla wrap, I thought maybe they could have spared a little of it for the salad to give it some flavor and excitement. Our waiter was friendly and did an OK job keeping up with the refills, so no complaints there. We were able to sit outside, and it was HOT that day. Thankfully, they had fans running, which made it pretty bearable. The atmosphere was nice, as it usually is. Unfortunately, when you put everything together, this visit just didn't live up to our previous experiences. We've been here several times, and this was easily the worst one. I'm going to classify this visit as "jumped the shark." Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but based on this experience, I'd eat somewhere else next time. read more

Everything here has been so good. Had a special today - Sampler Salad with a scoop of tuna salad, chicken salad and pimento cheese spread. Also half the plate was fresh fruit. It came with 1/2 slice of the cinnamon raisin pecan bread. I almost asked for extra bread but was plenty full and had leftovers . My husband had the BLT with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese on grilled sourdough. He's ready to go back for another one. The wait staff is always pleasant and accommodating. You can eat inside or outside and the inside has lots of windows for plenty of light. I bought a loaf of bread, coconut cream pie and carrot cake on my way out. I forgot to take a picture. OMFG! That praline pork chop tho! Just the right amount of sweet, succulence, and crunch! Cooked to perfection! You MUST get this! I got the lunch special, which came with one pork chop. I polished it off. I believe the dinner entree comes with two! Luckies! The fried green tomatoes were also awesome, and so was the shrimp and grits which was a "lighter" version with the veggies and tomato base in the grits. The lunch specials are a steal and a healthy portion size too. Available every day 11am-4pm. Complimentary freshly baked bread served warm upon request. We had high hopes for the pies and ordered the seasonal lemonade pie. It was meh. We would pass on this one. Heather was our server and she was great! We walked in around 3pm on a Saturday and were told it'd be maybe a ten minute wait but then got a text as soon as we sat down that a table was ready! This place has amazing food! Our server Mandy R. gave us top notch service! All of the staff are super friendly as well. You can dine inside or outside and it has a nice old feel atmosphere. Three of us got the chopped steak with mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples, and one of us got the fried chicken. All of our dishes were delicious. read more

Outstanding lunch! We are already planning to go back again before we leave town because it was so delicious! The kids got cheeseburgers and fries, I got the lunch special with the club sandwich and potato soup (SO GOOD), and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak. We were too full to try any of their desserts, but we will be back to try those! Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is lovely inside and outside (all the flowers everywhere!!), and they even serve all their meals on the pottery they make there! I went here for dinner after traveling all day. I was looking for something a bit more slowed down from the pace of the strip. Tucked back in a graden-esque setting this is a nice little eatery. The atmosphere was a little noisy, but not overly. Our server, Xavier, was polite and his attentiveness was appreciated. I had their house burger and steak fries. Everything came out hot and still steaming a bit. The burger was FANTASTIC! Juicy, beefy and delicious. It was hard to put down. This was a relaxing, enjoyable meal...and it wasn't really that expensive...given the area. It's right across from the forge. My dear wife agrees that this is a Perfect Date experience. Thankfully, very Old School and Not a ubiquitous sports bar which is infecting local dining. We been coming here since 1970's and loving it all. Always a great sign when my wife cannot decide between 7 possibilities. Great menu, and menu changes; great service, and a romantic ambience. Lots of couples and small groups of ladies. Outdoor tables in back and in front, with space heaters. Sadly, my salmon was overcooked even following instructions to server; my wife's shrimp and veggies were perfect. Bread is not a given, and must be requested. We highly recommend. read more

We were seated outside on the front patio and ordered the truly southern eggs benedict and a soup and salad plate with a scoop of chicken salad. We felt like the eggs benedict was a must try when visiting TN because it had a lot of local flavors- fried green tomatoes, pimento hollandaise, and a biscuit. I really loved the soup and salad plate because it allowed me to try a few different menu items, the loaded baked potato soup, the strawberry spinach salad, and the chicken salad (+$2.50), as well as a piece of homemade cinnamon raisin bread. On a road trip in Pigeon Forge when we came across Old Mill Pottery House Café that serves classic Southern comfort food with a charming atmosphere. I ordered the fried green tomatoes made with Old Mill's fried green tomato breading & served with original Old Mill's avocado ranch dressing. The fried green tomatoes were a bit over-fried and the batter had a bit of burnt taste unfortunately. I was excited about the pecan-crusted fried chicken, and split that with my mom. It came with two chicken breasts that were perfect for splitting and lightly breaded in a pecan breading and fried. Topped with Old Forge's French toast moonshine sauce and chopped pecans. Served with a baked sweet potato. The chicken was juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and the pecan crust added a rich, slightly sweet flavor that made it feel special without being overdone. Portions were generous, the food came out hot and fresh, and the service was friendly and attentive. Amazing service, delicious food, large portions and charming setting. I got the fried chicken liver with coleslaw and jalapeño corn pudding. The chicken liver was beautifully battered and fried, so crispy and light. It was delicious dipped in the comeback sauce and with some Tabasco to mix things up. Sides were amazing also. I'd like to start off saying I typically won't post a review unless it was phenomenal because I want to promote small business owners. We have vacationed in the area on a regular basis but had always gone to the "big Old Mill restaurant" but so many people on Yelp were giving glowing reviews about the cafe, so we decided to check it out. The menu is great. Lots of unique twists on regular items. The server was excellent! Our food experience was not excellent. Three of us got the lunch combo of a sandwich and a bowl of soup. One got the chicken tenders. It was 25° when we visited and we needed some warm wholesome food to fill our souls. The issue I had was the temperature of my food. Barely warm baked potato soup the grilled cheese must have been sitting so long because the cheese was back in a solid /plastic looking state. No warm gooey cheese one would expect on a three cheese grilled cheese. (I would also bet there was only one cheese on it as I didn't taste Gruyere at all. The chicken tenders were excellent. Fresh, nothing previously frozen. The desserts looked phenomenal but we didn't try them. Coconut cream pie, hot fudge pie, and the cakes....might go back tomorrow just to give dessert a try. read more

Great food and service. Choice of inside our outdoor dining. We started with some really tasty bread, and an appetizer, Chicken Livers. I don't think that they did anything wrong with these. My wife and I hadn't had chicken livers in approximately forever, and then it was in the form of a spread on dark rye bread (which we liked). But full-on chicken livers--we are now pretty confident that they are not our thing. The restaurant insisted on taking them off our bill, even though we told them that we didn't think they did anything wrong. Let's move on from that unpleasantness. My wife had an Open Faced Roast Beef sandwich that came with mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples. She hadn't had one of these (which she calls a "Manhattan sandwich") in years, and loved it. I had the Beef Short Ribs, served over cheddar cheese grits. Delicious. I had it with the Tomato Basil soup, which I also enjoyed a great deal. We ended with Chocolate Pecan Pie, which we split. We've visited here every time we come to Dollywood. Was top notch, worth the wait, now that is over. Tables crammed together in back dining room, four of us crammed at a small table up against the wall, meanwhile, they sit two people at a table that seats six, two at a table that seats four... Hard to get server's attention, would have asked for a manager but could barely get drinks refilled, floor filthy, dishes wet, food sub par. Severe decline from what used to be excellence. Short ribs weren't short ribs at all, it was pot roast with a bay leaf still in it (see photo). Obviously they ran short and tried to pass pot roast off as short ribs. Undercooked, grits salty, pecan chicken next to no glaze, had to wait a very long time for any attention. We will not be back. The end has come for this establishment. read more

We love Pottery House!! Every time I visit my mom and step dad and we come up to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood we stop by here for dinner and it never disappoints! They have a wide variety of food options on the menu. First you must order their fresh bread that they make in house. It's a whole loaf and it comes out nice and hot and served with fluffy butter. Yum! We didn't order an appetizer this time but in the past we've had the fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. This time I ordered their chicken salad & wedge salad and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We love that they use their own pottery pieces for dishes. The gift store is super cute and we always enjoy looking at all the pottery pieces. We were really disappointed with our recent visit to Pottery House Cafe. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated, although the outdoor seating was very nice. There are tables in front so you can people watch or a back patio that is more intimate. The kids' meal was especially disappointing -- the chicken fingers were very small, there were only a few fries, and we were told that kids' meals no longer include a drink. A drink must now be purchased separately. The menu says that one is included. The Strawberry Spinach Salad was missing the cinnamon bread that is supposed to come with it. Again, the menu says it is included. Unfortunately, the experience was made worse by the attitude of the women working at the front counter. She was not friendly or welcoming. We have enjoyed visiting Pottery House Cafe in the past, but based on this experience, I can no longer recommend it to families traveling with children. There are too many other restaurants where families can get better food, service, and value. read more

The Pottery House Cafe is ALWAYS a treat! The food was delicious which was great because while our server, Rebecca, was kind, she was MIA for much of our visit. She was either at other tables taking orders and bringing their food or no where in the dining area to be seen. There were two tables of guests that came in after us and received their food before us. They even left before our food arrived. Thankfully, our food was hot and tasty when it arrived. The long wait on food is not typical Pottery House service, which was surprising to us since we have gone there many times. Fortunately, this is an enjoyable place to sit and enjoy the view out the window, but it would have been nice to get our food sooner. Delicious club sandwich with a sauce that had the perfect fruity tinge. The salmon was tender and flavorful, and the fruit salad was actual fresh cut fruit -- not the usual bagged mix. The fish filets were thick and hearty, just a smidge too crunchy. The green tomato and bacon sandwich paired perfectly with the delicious avocado salsa, and the bread tasted warm from the oven and so light. We enjoyed our meal at the old mill pottery cafe while in Pigeon Forge. My wife had the Summer Berry Salad with chicken salad added. I had the 2 chicken breasts (with Teriyaki sauce) over rice and a side of broccoli. All was very tasty. The cafe is nicely decorated and the server (Ben) was very friendly, engaging and very courteous.
