My husband and I went here twice during our vacation. He has a strict dairy allergy, so we appreciated how accommodating they were. Everything is made from scratch and they let us know what could be and couldn't be dairy free. The food taste great too! We tried two burgers and wings, all were delicious and filling. Service and Atmosphere was nice, overall, as well. Our first server was mostly attentive but did seem to forget our waters for awhile. However, that's the only complaint we had. One thing to note is that the parking lot is steep and tight, but we didn't have any issues finding a spot. read more

They make pretty much everything in-house. The service was quick despite the restaurant always being super busy. As far as sensory issues, it is loud due to the busyness and it is very cold inside. Local Goat is comparable in size and popularity to Old Mill just down the road both are local favorites that stay busy. Unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. We called hours ahead for a party of 10 since our friends were meeting us from Atlanta while we were visiting from Tampa. We were repeatedly told we couldn't sit together, yet when we arrived, all 10 of us fit comfortably in the booth they claimed would only seat 6. The wait was about 45 minutes, and after ordering, it took over an hour for our food to arrive. The entire meal lasted about 2 1/2 hours, causing us to miss our pre-purchased sunset excursion. As for the food, nothing really stood out. My son ordered the filet mignon and couldn't even finish it he said it "sucked" , and we ended up getting Chipotle afterward because he was still hungry. I had the wicked past with shrimp, which I'd give 3 stars if you enjoy spicy food, but it became too spicy for me after a few bites. The fried deviled eggs weren't anything special they still tasted like hard-boiled eggs with bacon and a little Sriracha. The burgers had a nice grilled flavor, but I'm not much of a burger person, so I'll let others judge those. The highlight for me was browsing the gift shop and picking up some goat milk lotion. I stopped into Local GOAT pretty late one evening while passing through on a road trip and was pleasantly surprised. At first glance, it has the feel of a large chain restaurant... kind of a Texas Roadhouse or Claim Jumper vibe. The difference is that Local GOAT does the food better. I ordered a burger with bacon and a fried egg on it. Think Red Robin's Royal Burger... except this one showed up after spending a few years at burger finishing school. It was genuinely excellent for this style of restaurant. But let's talk about the onion rings. The fundamental flaw of most onion rings is that you take one bite and the entire onion evacuates the breading like it's escaping a burning building. Suddenly you're left holding an empty ring of fried batter wondering where it all went wrong. Local GOAT has somehow solved this problem. First, these onion rings are gigantic. Second, every bite actually contained onion and breading together, exactly as the Onion Ring Gods intended. There was no premature extraction. No onion slithering out before its time. No disappointing hollow shell left behind. These rings held it together better than an overachieving theater kid trying desperately not to cry during their final curtain call. This isn't white-glove dining, and that's perfectly fine. I don't care what the hands are wearing if they're bringing me more of those onion rings. If you're traveling through the area and need a reliable stop, Local GOAT is an easy recommendation. read more

Decided to stop here for food. My goodness the food here is amazing. The staff was super friendly & the service was quick. I got the bison meatloaf and it was very flavorful. I got the lunch special portion and it was still enough to have leftovers for later. My husband got the Fettuccine Rocco. He said between the actual meal and the bread that is served with it he wished he had more to eat later since it was so good. Its a bit darker inside the restaurant. We also went on a cloudy ish day though. So that may of been why. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are look for some quality eats. read more

If you're looking for a nice spot to enjoy a very unique and great meal, please try local goat. I had the lamb burger with tzatziki and a side of sautéed spinach. The burger was amazing. The lamb was a flavor bomb in the tzatziki cream sauce was the perfect fitting for the lamb. The bun was toasted and soft. It was the perfect combination of a burger. This place has some very good variety of burgers from beef to lamb to even bison. The ambience in this place is very nice. It's a good place for a group or just for a date night. The customer service was really nice. We had an amazing server who was able to assist with us making choices on what was recommended to eat. Local Goat was honestly such a great find while we were in town. It was pretty busy when we got there, but we were seated right away, which was a nice surprise. The place itself was clean and had a really good vibe, and our server was super friendly and attentive. We started with the Bing Bang Boom shrimp, and wow! so good! The flavor was on point. The only thing I could've skipped was the wonton crisps on the side, but that's just personal preference. For my meal, I got the TN whiskey burger and... oh my goodness. From the food to the service everything here was just awesome. I had taken my son 9 and daughter 7mos out for a morning filled with activities so around 2:00 we were all hungry. I had seen Local Goat while driving a few times and really wanted to check it out. I am so glad we did. When we came in it wasn't super busy and we were seated right away. Our server came up to us and explained that it's a local chain with two locations and most everything was made in house, which is amazing. He quickly brought our drinks and took our food order. I got the burger with goat cheese and bacon Jam and my son got the kids chicken fingers. The food came out pretty fast and was nice and hot. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crunchy. My burger was huge. Not only was it plenty of food but it was delicious. The patty was well cooked and the goat cheese and the bacon jam complimented it really well. Everything on the burger was fresh and just well balanced. The bun was light and airy. I wish I could have eaten the whole thing, but thankfully the hotel has a fridge and microwave in the room so a perfect meal for later. My son was raving about his food. He absolutely loved it. Which, can be hard for him because sometimes he can be extremely picky. He loved the fries and the chicken fingers. I tried a bite of his chicken and it was juicy and had a nice crunch to it. Definitely, not the premade chicken fingers you often get for kids meals. Our server was awesome. He checked on us multiple times and brought me a refill on my soda before I had finished the first. Stopped in for lunch while in town for a volleyball tournament. My parents suggested this place and it was amazing. Their burgers had an awesome flavor along with all the fabulous toppings which make them even better. I had the pimento cheese burger which also had bacon jam on it and it was the perfect flavor combination. The fries were so good with their homemade ketchup which has just the perfect little kick to it. The buns have an everything g bagel seasoning on them which just adds to the tastiness. As soon as we told her it was our first time, she got excited for us to be there and gave us confidence that we will enjoy whatever we order. We absolutely did!! We got the spinach dip... okay so it comes with pico and sour cream. My boyfriend practically flipped the cup into his mouth of pico because it tasted that good! It was so fresh and the acidity was perfect. The spinach was good too lol He got the ribeye with baked potato and coleslaw. 10/10 he left no crumbs! The food was amazing and well worth the wait! We went on a Thursday night while in pigeon Forge and the parking lot is huge and was full. The wait time was about one hour so we opted to wait in the bar have an appetizer and a few drink drinks until our table was ready. The bar tender was so rude and the drinks were all off. It has been a while since I last visited Pigeon Forge, and I decided to follow a Yelp recommendation for Local Goat. I am so glad I did because it absolutely did not disappoint. The service was wonderful from start to finish. The wait staff were very friendly and clearly knew the menu inside and out, which made ordering easy. As for the vibe, the ambiance was perfect. It has that great "local bar" feel with plenty of screens to catch a game, but without all the obnoxious noise you usually find in those types of places. It was a really comfortable spot to just sit and eat. For starters we got their fried deviled eggs and bar queso spread. For our mains, we ended up trying one of the burgers from their huge selection and a Mediterranean salad creation. Whether it was a standard menu item or something a bit more customized, everything came out tasting fresh and full of flavor. Between the amazing food and the great service, I will definitely be making this a staple stop for any future trips through Pigeon Forge. We split a chicken sandwich and fries, which turned out to be the perfect portion for lunch. I also grabbed a local IPA, which paired nicely with the meal. I'd absolutely love to swing back here. Went back for the second time after a year and it still is just as good as a year ago! Went early on a Tuesday afternoon and had about 30 minute wait time! Our waiter Caleb was fast to get our drinks and his yummy recommendations! We started with the creamy spinach dip and I really think it was the best I ever had in my entire life! I had the Smokehouse burger with their fries which EVERYTHING is made from scratch even the ketchup! My boyfriend had the Teriyaki filet kabobs with fried rice and steamed broccoli! Stopped in one recent Saturday night for dinner with my sister and mother. They were on a 25 minutes wait so we got on the list and fortunately ended up only waiting about 15 minutes before getting the text our table was ready. The place was pretty packed and I'm not sure how many tables our server had but she seemed to be a bit overwhelmed as we would go for long periods of time without seeing her. For starters we went with the Stuffed Piquillo Peppers which came out super quickly after ordering. They were a table favorite - I mean, warm sweet piquillo peppers stuffed with goat cheese and topped with a balsamic glaze a basil you definitely aren't going to go wrong. After this it was almost an hour before our entrees I came out though so I guess we shouldn't have gobbled all the peppers down so quickly. For my entree, I went with the Teriyaki Filet Kabobs. On paper they sounded delicous but instead they were just ok - ordered medium but they came out more medium well and the flavor/marinade was lacking in flavor. After dropping our orders off we didn't see our server again for quite some time and had to chase her down just to get the check. All in all - as a huge goat cheese lover (which many of their menu items feature) I wanted to love The Local Goat but the taste of the entree and lackluster service left much to be desired (even on a Saturday night). read more

I tried the filet teriyaki kebab, and it was absolutely delicious! The presentation was deceiving -- it didn't look like much at first, but the flavor was outstanding. The teriyaki filet steak was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor. The rice was seasoned and cooked just right, and while the steamed broccoli wasn't much to write home about. We also had the ribs, which came with a side of cole slaw. The slaw was super fresh and perfectly balanced -- a great palate cleanser alongside the rich bbq ribs. The rack itself was delicious, and honestly, half a rack is plenty for one person unless you're deliberately saving some to take home.
