    Beautiful views at sunset

Country-style feel with its decorations and down-to-earth atmosphere. The staff are upbeat and genuinely seem to enjoy being there, which makes the service feel extra welcoming. I love that it has that small-town local touch, especially since they co-own another spot nearby, so it feels like you're supporting a place that's really rooted in the community. The back porch has great mountain views, and it's the kind of setting that makes you want to linger a while after eating. The menu is hearty and fun, with burgers, pizzas, and even Sloppy Joes that taste just as good as the ones you remember from childhood. They've recently started offering salads too, which is a nice addition if you want something a little lighter alongside the classics. Portions are generous, onion rings come piled high, and everything feels made with care. Between the friendly energy, cozy décor, and satisfying food, this is the kind of stop that makes a trip memorable.

My wife and son had the Sloppy Original with fries,I had the Red Hot sloppy burger with onion rings. This isn't your fast food, this is elevated burgers. Our server was informative and made recommendations. The restaurant has cold beer but I was driving.Very rustic with character all in beautiful Wears Valley.A stop for the future for The working Man Review.

Sandra is awesome! We took her recommendations for our meals. Each dish was better than the last. Sloppy Hog Burger Joint is part of the hillbilly pancake house complex. Plenty of parking for cars, trucks and RVs. Sloppy Hog has an outdoor area that is dog friendly. Your food comes out fast. We got the sloppy Joe smothered homemade chips, the world famous (according to Sandra) onion rings, and the chicken wings. They smoke the wings for three hours before they fry them. They had a very good distinct flavor. The onion rings will become world famous. It was a very thin ring of onion with a light flaky coating. The sloppy Joe smothered homemade chips was delicious. Sandra nailed the description, the savory spicy of the sloppy Joe on top of the crunch of the homemade chips was fabulous. My daughter got the blueberry cider. I got the hillbilly slop. Both were very tasty. Great visit!

This was just what we needed after a full day of hiking through the GSMNP. It was a bit busy but well worth a little bit of a wait. Everything was super fresh and we especially loved the cheese curds, they have the perfect bit of kick to them! We found the onion rings a little bit greasy and they did hurt our stomachs a bit but honestly, worth it. Super cute inside, love all of the decor. Plus the ice cream shop right outside is perfect if you're still looking to get some dessert!

Sloppy Hog was a little slice of heaven just as you get into Wears Valley. The staff is so friendly and service is always great. They have amazing burgers, pizza and sloppy joes! I recommend the sloppy Joe chips! They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The view is beautiful.

Came here with 9 family members after passing by a couple times . Considering it was New Year's Day and crowd of people were in town including us ; the restaurant looked like it was short staffed as two waitresses were serving all the tables . We waited about 30 mins for 9 people and thereafter it got full The real reason this restaurant gets 4 stars is because the food was outstanding . Probably the best bbq style burger I've ever had, and every one was happy with the food . Def worth a shot I'm sure if I visit again service will be better. I ordered wings Fried pickles and chips with pulled pork . All amazing Also tried the cheese pizza , pepperoni pizza and the bbq pizza. All 3 were worth it

Came by because we heard they serve Sloppy joes!!! Haven't had one in years! They didn't dissapoint. You get a healthy size portion with a side. And Cole slaw. We chose the onion rings. My friend liked the onion rings. I felt like the onion rings were over seasoned in my opinion. Otherwise, All was good.

We ordered the sloppy Joe and the sloppy dipper. Both came with French fries. They were both delicious! We also had the fried pickles as an appetizer which were great!! Highly recommend!! Pricilla was our server! She was great!!!

What a find!! After a day in the Great Smoky Mountains (blissfully disconnected!) we stumbled out of the park right upon this burger/pizza place in Weaes Valley. Hubby and I both had the original smash burgers (double patties) with their homemade onion rings (worth the trip themselves!). Food was delicious, service was EXCELLENT and the staff all appeared to enjoy working there (singing while bussing tables, amazing ). We sat on the back porch with a beautiful view of the mountains (they are also expanding their outdoor seating in August). Definitely recommend stopping!

The wings were very good and the sloppy Joe was ok, could have used some brown sugar. Otherwise it was just a lot of hamburger with just ok taste. We did enjoy our meal and the atmosphere. We just decided when we go back we will not pick the sloppy Joe's next time. Service was awesome and the place was clean. Also outside covered seating has an awesome view. We will be back to try the pizza in December on our next trip

Food was good! Hot and fresh and didn't take very long. Fried Pickles had a delicious (yet a little salty) batter they were cooked in. They don't have a lot of indoor seating but have a back deck seating area too. Simple menu with a nice variety. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. It's a cute little place tucked away in Wears Valley so it's away from the main drag of tourists. Very clean. They use disposable utensils and cups. Will definitely go back to try something different.

We are staying at a short term rental property close to Sloppy Hog. I thought I would swing in and try it out. The burger, reviews and wing reviews all seem to be great, but I wanted to try their loaded homemade chips. They had pulled pork with barbecue sauce and jalapeños on top. It was hard to taste just the pulled pork, but the entire bite of chip, pork, BBQ sauce, and jalapeño was really good. I would recommend it. They brought the bill out, snapped under a rat trap. Funny. However, I'm not sure what the technology fee was that I was paying for at a burger joint. Especially since I paid an additional fee to pay with credit card.

    Chubby's Restaurant - Smash Burger!!

Chubby's is a classic restaurant that offers American comfort food. The great dinner feel of the…read moreplace is an excellent representation of the bygone era of the traditional dinner. It has a real down home feel. The place offers burgers (Mushroom Swiss, BBQ Burger), sandwiches (Cheesesteaks, Reuben, BLT, Chicken Sandwiches with Ranch/Buffalo options), and hearty baskets with fried chicken, cod, or shrimp, plus breakfast served all day, desserts (chocolate pie!), and options like pork chops or steak. They have someone thing for everyone. Everything is cooked to ordered. We started off with deep fried deviled eggs. My wife had the Beef Stroganoff. While I had the House Smash Burger. The stroganoff is served in a wide, shallow bowl that showcases the sauce's glossy sheen and the generous scatter of sautéed mushrooms. Steam carries a rounded, savory bouquet: beef-forward notes, toasty browned butter, and the faint acid of a finishing touch -- likely a splash of vinegar, wine, or lemon -- that hints the sauce will be bright rather than cloying. The presentation is simple and effective: no unnecessary frills, just clear evidence that plate composition exists to showcase the food's strengths. The sauce is the star: a glossy, velvety emulsion built on a brown stock backbone, enriched with sour cream (or a light cultured cream), and tempered with mustard and a touch of acidity. The mushrooms are properly caramelized, offering an earthy counterpoint and slight chew that complements the tender beef. Onions are present but not intrusive; garlic and a whisper of thyme or parsley frame the dish without flattening the primary flavors. Chubby's pairs the stroganoff with broad egg noodles -- they're al dente-yielding and capture the sauce in their folds, which makes each mouthful a composed, layered bite rather than separate elements awkwardly forced together. The Smash Burger was an equal masterpiece as well. In an era when burgers can feel formulaic and predictable, the SMASH Triple Burger with Chubby Sauce at Chubby's Restaurant stands out not just as a meal, but as a culinary statement, mine was constructed of three thin-pressed beef patties -- each seared to achieve that iconic lace of caramelization -- deliver an intoxicating aroma of grilled beef that primes the palate for something special. The smash technique here isn't a gimmick; it's a masterstroke that intensifies the beef's flavor while maintaining juiciness through every layer, a testament to precise heat management on the griddle. The Chubby Sauce, a house specialty that earns its name with rich, tangy complexity, serves as the burger's soul. It marries creamy umami with a whisper of sweetness and a balanced acidity that cuts through the savory heft of the triple stack. This sauce is not merely a condiment -- it's the architectural glue that binds texture and taste, elevating each bite into a chorus of complementary notes. What makes this experience remarkable was how it balances bold indulgence with thoughtful restraint: the trio of patties makes a statement, yet the burger never feels overwhelmingly heavy. Each layer interacts harmoniously, and the Chubby Sauce is nothing short of inspired -- tangy yet creamy, bold yet nuanced. We topped it all off with pie. My wife had the peanut butter while I opted for the Apple pie was our desert. Dessert at Chubby's often arrives with the quiet confidence of a house specialty, and the both the Apple & Peanut Butter Pie is no exception. If you think you've had every version of apple pie, this one will surprise you. Chubby's Apple Pie is warm, comforting, and brilliantly balanced. The apples are tender and spiced just right, the crust is buttery and flaky. The peanut butter pie has a subtle, savory richness that keeps the dessert from being overly sweet. It's indulgent without being heavy and memorable in the best way. An absolute must-order if you save room for dessert. This was a great dining experience and in a tourist dominated area, this place stands out as real down home cooking that your grandmother made. Highly recommend, this is one the most stop sites if you are in the area.
