    Double bacon cheeseburger

Not hard to find but easy to miss. In this small diner you will find the biggest, juiciest, most delectable pork tenderloin you'll ever have in your life! It needs its own zip code! We had two of them and could have shared one with the entire party, which included two teen boys. Who, by the way, could not finish their burgers! But each loved their onion rings, mushrooms, and fries. Our waitress was a sweet lady who never let us look for her, she was very friendly and good at her job. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the soda was off with the carbonation, which I got a tea but then the tea was weak. I'd come back again in a heartbeat and order a water. Thanks!

I was looking at reviews for different restaurants when I came across Chubby's. I looked over the menu online and saw they had country fried steak and that sounded good to me so that's where we decided to go for dinner. It wasn't hard to find and they do have parking right in front. Walking inside, it's not quite what I expected. Definitely a down home feel and retro 70's and 80's memorabilia on the wall. Being older, we thought that was cool. We were seated pretty much immediately and our server took our drink order. She was very nice and helpful. We ordered the deep fried deviled eggs as a starter. I've had them at a different restaurant before and thought they were okay but decided to try them again here. They were good but I have to say, I still prefer chilled deviled eggs the best. But that's a personal preference. I ordered country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. My brother ordered a BLT with fries. Our server returned quickly to let me know they were out of mashed potatoes. While this normally wouldn't be an issue for me, I really want mashed potatoes with country fried steak. Since they didn't have any, I just knew I wouldn't be happy with my meal. I asked if I could change my order. She brought the menu back and I decided on a club sandwich. Our food was good, even if it wasn't what I originally wanted. One complaint is when we were at the register waiting to pay, I can only assume something had been spilled recently. The carpet was very sticky, my shoes actually were sticking to the floor. It had a really dark spot on it and I can only hope it was a recent issue and they don't leave it like that all the time. Overall, the food and service was acceptable, but I can't say it was outstanding. Not sure I would return but if you are looking for more down home food and vibe, I'd recommend it.

We stopped by because it was near our BnB and it was a great choice! I had the catfish special and was able to sub the coleslaw for fried okra and everything was great. The hush puppies are a cornbread base and some of the best hush puppies I've had. My husband got the smash burger with everything on it and he loved it. The staff is also friendly and know the menu so they are able to give actual recommendations based on your preferences! It does get fairly busy so don't be surprised if there's a wait for groups but it's well worth it.

Good Southern Food! Awesome service with a nostalgic vibe. My friends have been telling me to try this place but they're always so busy. Tonight the parking lot was full and we stopped anyway and We were immediately seated. So don't let the parking lot stop you from checking them out!

Ok this place was ON POINT. If you are looking for local vibe, Southern cooking, and reasonable prices, this is the spot. We popped in while on vacation and were welcomed warmly. The service was great, the food was plentiful and delicious, and they made my daughter's day by having rubber ducks for sale at the check out counter! The Mac and cheese was a highlight on my plate along with the meatloaf. I will not pass through town without stopping here again.

Chubby's is a local gem! Secluded just a few miles off the main parkway, you'll be greeted with excellent service and whopping plates of food, all inside a super casual dining atmosphere, all with great pricing. I started with deep fried deviled eggs, which were egg-cellent, then went for the pork tenderloin sandwich and sadly I was defeated by this behemoth. My tactic was to carve all the edges emerging from the bun and try to eat just the bun portion, still couldn't finish it, and I had at least 3 massive cuts of breaded pork to take home!

Chubby's is a classic restaurant that offers American comfort food. The great dinner feel of the place is an excellent representation of the bygone era of the traditional dinner. It has a real down home feel. The place offers burgers (Mushroom Swiss, BBQ Burger), sandwiches (Cheesesteaks, Reuben, BLT, Chicken Sandwiches with Ranch/Buffalo options), and hearty baskets with fried chicken, cod, or shrimp, plus breakfast served all day, desserts (chocolate pie!), and options like pork chops or steak. They have someone thing for everyone. Everything is cooked to ordered. We started off with deep fried deviled eggs. My wife had the Beef Stroganoff. While I had the House Smash Burger. The stroganoff is served in a wide, shallow bowl that showcases the sauce's glossy sheen and the generous scatter of sautéed mushrooms. Steam carries a rounded, savory bouquet: beef-forward notes, toasty browned butter, and the faint acid of a finishing touch -- likely a splash of vinegar, wine, or lemon -- that hints the sauce will be bright rather than cloying. The presentation is simple and effective: no unnecessary frills, just clear evidence that plate composition exists to showcase the food's strengths. The sauce is the star: a glossy, velvety emulsion built on a brown stock backbone, enriched with sour cream (or a light cultured cream), and tempered with mustard and a touch of acidity. The mushrooms are properly caramelized, offering an earthy counterpoint and slight chew that complements the tender beef. Onions are present but not intrusive; garlic and a whisper of thyme or parsley frame the dish without flattening the primary flavors. Chubby's pairs the stroganoff with broad egg noodles -- they're al dente-yielding and capture the sauce in their folds, which makes each mouthful a composed, layered bite rather than separate elements awkwardly forced together. The Smash Burger was an equal masterpiece as well. In an era when burgers can feel formulaic and predictable, the SMASH Triple Burger with Chubby Sauce at Chubby's Restaurant stands out not just as a meal, but as a culinary statement, mine was constructed of three thin-pressed beef patties -- each seared to achieve that iconic lace of caramelization -- deliver an intoxicating aroma of grilled beef that primes the palate for something special. The smash technique here isn't a gimmick; it's a masterstroke that intensifies the beef's flavor while maintaining juiciness through every layer, a testament to precise heat management on the griddle. The Chubby Sauce, a house specialty that earns its name with rich, tangy complexity, serves as the burger's soul. It marries creamy umami with a whisper of sweetness and a balanced acidity that cuts through the savory heft of the triple stack. This sauce is not merely a condiment -- it's the architectural glue that binds texture and taste, elevating each bite into a chorus of complementary notes. What makes this experience remarkable was how it balances bold indulgence with thoughtful restraint: the trio of patties makes a statement, yet the burger never feels overwhelmingly heavy. Each layer interacts harmoniously, and the Chubby Sauce is nothing short of inspired -- tangy yet creamy, bold yet nuanced. We topped it all off with pie. My wife had the peanut butter while I opted for the Apple pie was our desert. Dessert at Chubby's often arrives with the quiet confidence of a house specialty, and the both the Apple & Peanut Butter Pie is no exception. If you think you've had every version of apple pie, this one will surprise you. Chubby's Apple Pie is warm, comforting, and brilliantly balanced. The apples are tender and spiced just right, the crust is buttery and flaky. The peanut butter pie has a subtle, savory richness that keeps the dessert from being overly sweet. It's indulgent without being heavy and memorable in the best way. An absolute must-order if you save room for dessert. This was a great dining experience and in a tourist dominated area, this place stands out as real down home cooking that your grandmother made. Highly recommend, this is one the most stop sites if you are in the area.

Our Favorite Tennessee Tradition -- Chubby's Never Disappoints! Just had another amazing meal at our favorite spot in Sevierville! Chubby's has been our go-to tradition every time we vacation in Tennessee for the past 4 years, and we've never had a bad meal here. The food is always incredible, and the service is phenomenal. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a cozy, homey vibe that immediately makes you feel welcome. The interior has a charming, rustic feel with friendly staff bustling around, and the tables are perfectly spaced so it never feels cramped. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and really soak in that warm, local Tennessee atmosphere. The service here is next-level. Our drinks magically appeared without us ever having to ask, and even waitresses who weren't serving our table stopped by to make sure everything was perfect and that we were enjoying our food. It feels like everyone on staff genuinely cares about your experience--they're attentive without being intrusive, and it makes the meal feel extra special. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes--lightly breaded with a nice peppery kick, and the tomatoes themselves were firm and flavorful. Honestly, one of the best versions I've had! For my entrée, I tried their new Smash Burger, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The beef was moist, perfectly seasoned, and topped with their signature Chubby's sauce that really took it to another level. Hands down, the best burger I've ever had! Their onion rings were delicious as always, but I could only manage one since the burger filled me up so much. My husband went with his all-time favorite: the Fried Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. When I say huge, I mean HUGE--you could easily make two or three sandwiches out of it. The breading is light and crispy, clinging to juicy, tender pork that keeps us coming back every time. Between the warm, inviting atmosphere, the amazing food, and the magically attentive staff, Chubby's feels like more than just a restaurant--it's part of our vacation tradition. We truly can't talk this place up enough. If you ever find yourself in Sevierville, do yourself a favor and stop at Chubby's. Amazing food, generous portions, and the friendliest staff--it's everything you want in a hometown favorite

    Fried deviled eggs!

It's located along Dolly Parton Parkway and has a large sign out front. It's easy to find and get into the smaller than expected parking lot. Still, there was plenty of parking with wide traffic lanes to get into and out of the spaces. Leaving the parking lot can be problematic, especially if you want to turn left at rush hour. Still, there are clear sight lines, so take your time and you won't have any issues. There are handicapped parking spaces right in front of door. Access is easy, although you need to go around several statues/ art pieces which certainly make a fun and interesting walk into the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated right away. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. We had a booth near the back but there is plenty or natural and artificial lighting throughout the seating area. Our server took our drink order as we were seated. The drinks came quickly and we asked for more time to look over the extensive menu. We were ready in a few minutes and our server came back without prompting. Our appetizers took about five minutes to arrive. The fried deviled eggs are amazing. The egg white part is deep fried with a thin crispy coating, then the typical egg yolk mix is added. The appearance and taste combination is excellent, and this appetizer is a must order. We also tried the fried pickles as one of our dining party is a connoisseur. The pickles are cut as spears instead of chips. The extra thickness seems to allow for more pickle flavor and some moistness compared to the typical chips. The accompanying dipping sauce was pleasantly spicy and an excellent accompaniment to the pickles. Our connoisseur pronounced them some of the best she has eaten. The Reuben sandwich was a last minute decision and turned out to be an excellent choice. The corned beef was flavorful and moist without being greasy, the sauerkraut had a slight tang, and the thousand island dressing gave the right balance of sweetness. The marbled rye bread was toasted and held up to the weight of the sandwich. This was an unexpected delight. The burger was another hit. The meat was fresh, moist, and flavorful, the toppings fresh and crisp, and the bun soft without falling apart. The sides of fries and onion rings were cooked perfectly and were provided in a generous amount. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. It is obvious the staff has a lot of experience and knows how to treat customers right. We even met the owner who was checking on customers and took the time to talk to everyone. Chubby's is a must-stop location any time you are even near the area. Treat yourself and take the time to stop for a meal. You deserve it.

The service was an immaculate 11/10! The ambiance is amazing especially if you're a Gen X person. Don't take it too seriously. The food is way over the top and that's the complication. Everything is taken to the nth degree and that's not always great. The deep fried deviled eggs are good but a challenge texturally. The other food was good but a little too much all around. A little overwhelming. Still great and a place I would certainly recommend.

Never have I really ventured outside of that and I couldn't actually tell you why. When my kids and I made a quick 1 day Dollywood trip over to Pigeon Forge, 23 we're looking for a place to eat prior to the big day at the park. What's funny is I relied in Googles AI (Gemini) to tell me where to go. I was driving around and was asking for recommendations. It said Mama's Farmhouse was a popular place to eat for families and it was all-you-can-eat. The kids wanted fried chicken and Salisbury steak, which was in the menu for that day. What a coincidence! If I could summarize it, this is basically a local Cracker Barrel-style restaurant but the food is a lot better. It's tucked away off of a side road off of the main highway 321 road and reminds me a lot of the Applebarn Restaurant down the road. The ambiance is this old timey feel, like many of the establishments around the area. The fried chicken (bone-in), chicken tenders, fries catfish, and Salisbury steak was what we ordered for our mains. Everything was delicious! The seasoning had the perfect amount of salt across all the dishes and sides. The chicken was juicy and tender. The Salisbury steak was solid, some of the best I've ever had. Savory, rich brown gravy, and tender chunks of beef. All the sides were amazing too, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken and dumplings. Honestly there wasn't a negative thing about this place. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

The online menu gave plenty of eye candy and we were absolutely starving by the time we arrived Friday evening. The staff was very attentive and kind. It's clear that this place is fully operated by word-of-mouth and return guests. It's a huge establishment with several rooms by big fireplaces and Lazy Susan's to pass around the family style meal. The menu was a little difficult to navigate so many options laid out, but only certain options available per day. So ultimately, we were not able to order exactly what we wanted, but we ordered what was available for Friday, which was the Salisbury steak, fried fish, and fried chicken. All of these meats came in a small portion to split amongst our three people, and with unlimited sides. Some of the sides were pretty impressive. I would have to say my favorite side was the broccoli casserole, followed by the mashed potatoes and gravy, which were real potatoes! The mac & cheese was more on the creamy side versus the gooey cheesy side. Unfortunately, some of our chicken was undercooked, and the skin was very thin and not too crispy. The fish was decent, not dried out whatsoever, which is a pretty good compliment. While my coworker said that the chicken and dumplings were her favorite, I failed to enjoy them :( All in all, this was not our favorite restaurant from our trip this weekend and it appears that big groups and big families really do enjoy dining at this establishment.

Or none. But we've definitely had much worse. It was pretty quiet when we started our meal but it became pretty busy. Twenty minutes of that was too much. Uncalled for. That comes from a parent (me). But I digress. The food was probably the best we've had since coming here. The pot roast and fish were excellent as were the potatoes, creamed corn, broccoli cheese casserole and okra (tons of seasoning which was amazing). Yes. I know it is not traditional southern okra but it's still pretty darned good. Why the four stars? One: they do not bring enough food. I wish I could give this five extra stars…read more The food was hands-down amazing. Those biscuits or something to write home about, and the fried chicken was perfection! The staff are the friendliest I've ever seen. Everyone literally looks delighted to be at their job jobs.

Sometimes the most frustrating restaurant experiences aren't the terrible ones…read more They're the ones that are so close to being really good. That's how I felt about Mama's Chicken Kitchen. I came in with high expectations. The restaurant has strong reviews, it's part of the Johnson Family of restaurants, and I've enjoyed several of their other establishments over the years. So I walked in expecting a meal that would have me planning a return visit before I even paid the check. What I got instead was one of the strangest cases of missing seasoning I've encountered in quite some time. Let's start with the positives. The people here are genuinely nice. Friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and seemed to care about providing a good experience. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and inviting. And the kitchen clearly knows how to cook food. The fried chicken was cooked beautifully. Crispy on the outside. Juicy on the inside. Exactly the texture you're hoping for when you order Southern fried chicken. The problem? The seasoning apparently called in sick. This chicken had all the flavor intensity of a weather report. No noticeable salt. No spice. No personality. It tasted like the chef had just completed community service at a nursing home and was legally prohibited from possessing a salt shaker. My piece of chicken was juicy and cooked properly. Unfortunately, my wife's chicken breast was noticeably dry, which didn't help matters. Then came the fried pickles. No seasoning. Chicken and dumplings. No seasoning. Coleslaw. Tasteless. At one point I started wondering if there had been some sort of building-wide seasoning shortage that nobody had told us about. The frustrating part is that none of the food was poorly cooked. Quite the opposite. The techniques were there. The textures were there. The execution was there. It just felt like someone got everything ready and forgot the final, critical step of making the food taste like something. This is a restaurant with good people, a pleasant atmosphere, and a kitchen that clearly knows how to cook. Now they just need to introduce their food to salt, pepper, and a few of their seasoning friends. Three stars. Because the potential is absolutely there. The flavor just never showed up for work.
