What a fun place! My husband had the smash burger, I had a house salad (comes with hard boiled egg, bacon, cheese & tomato) and the fried green tomatoes. All of it was great...The salad was very fresh/crisp and the perfect size. The service was Excellent...everyone was so friendly! We'll definitely be back

We stopped by because it was near our BnB and it was a great choice! I had the catfish special and was able to sub the coleslaw for fried okra and everything was great. The hush puppies are a cornbread base and some of the best hush puppies I've had. My husband got the smash burger with everything on it and he loved it. The staff is also friendly and know the menu so they are able to give actual recommendations based on your preferences! It does get fairly busy so don't be surprised if there's a wait for groups but it's well worth it.

Ok this place was ON POINT. If you are looking for local vibe, Southern cooking, and reasonable prices, this is the spot. We popped in while on vacation and were welcomed warmly. The service was great, the food was plentiful and delicious, and they made my daughter's day by having rubber ducks for sale at the check out counter! The Mac and cheese was a highlight on my plate along with the meatloaf. I will not pass through town without stopping here again.

Chubby's is a local gem! Secluded just a few miles off the main parkway, you'll be greeted with excellent service and whopping plates of food, all inside a super casual dining atmosphere, all with great pricing. I started with deep fried deviled eggs, which were egg-cellent, then went for the pork tenderloin sandwich and sadly I was defeated by this behemoth. My tactic was to carve all the edges emerging from the bun and try to eat just the bun portion, still couldn't finish it, and I had at least 3 massive cuts of breaded pork to take home!

The service was an immaculate 11/10! The ambiance is amazing especially if you're a Gen X person. Don't take it too seriously. The food is way over the top and that's the complication. Everything is taken to the nth degree and that's not always great. The deep fried deviled eggs are good but a challenge texturally. The other food was good but a little too much all around. A little overwhelming. Still great and a place I would certainly recommend.

Our Favorite Tennessee Tradition -- Chubby's Never Disappoints! Just had another amazing meal at our favorite spot in Sevierville! Chubby's has been our go-to tradition every time we vacation in Tennessee for the past 4 years, and we've never had a bad meal here. The food is always incredible, and the service is phenomenal. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a cozy, homey vibe that immediately makes you feel welcome. The interior has a charming, rustic feel with friendly staff bustling around, and the tables are perfectly spaced so it never feels cramped. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and really soak in that warm, local Tennessee atmosphere. The service here is next-level. Our drinks magically appeared without us ever having to ask, and even waitresses who weren't serving our table stopped by to make sure everything was perfect and that we were enjoying our food. It feels like everyone on staff genuinely cares about your experience--they're attentive without being intrusive, and it makes the meal feel extra special. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes--lightly breaded with a nice peppery kick, and the tomatoes themselves were firm and flavorful. Honestly, one of the best versions I've had! For my entrée, I tried their new Smash Burger, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The beef was moist, perfectly seasoned, and topped with their signature Chubby's sauce that really took it to another level. Hands down, the best burger I've ever had! Their onion rings were delicious as always, but I could only manage one since the burger filled me up so much. My husband went with his all-time favorite: the Fried Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. When I say huge, I mean HUGE--you could easily make two or three sandwiches out of it. The breading is light and crispy, clinging to juicy, tender pork that keeps us coming back every time. Between the warm, inviting atmosphere, the amazing food, and the magically attentive staff, Chubby's feels like more than just a restaurant--it's part of our vacation tradition. We truly can't talk this place up enough. If you ever find yourself in Sevierville, do yourself a favor and stop at Chubby's. Amazing food, generous portions, and the friendliest staff--it's everything you want in a hometown favorite

It's located along Dolly Parton Parkway and has a large sign out front. It's easy to find and get into the smaller than expected parking lot. Still, there was plenty of parking with wide traffic lanes to get into and out of the spaces. Leaving the parking lot can be problematic, especially if you want to turn left at rush hour. Still, there are clear sight lines, so take your time and you won't have any issues. There are handicapped parking spaces right in front of door. Access is easy, although you need to go around several statues/ art pieces which certainly make a fun and interesting walk into the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated right away. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. We had a booth near the back but there is plenty or natural and artificial lighting throughout the seating area. Our server took our drink order as we were seated. The drinks came quickly and we asked for more time to look over the extensive menu. We were ready in a few minutes and our server came back without prompting. Our appetizers took about five minutes to arrive. The fried deviled eggs are amazing. The egg white part is deep fried with a thin crispy coating, then the typical egg yolk mix is added. The appearance and taste combination is excellent, and this appetizer is a must order. We also tried the fried pickles as one of our dining party is a connoisseur. The pickles are cut as spears instead of chips. The extra thickness seems to allow for more pickle flavor and some moistness compared to the typical chips. The accompanying dipping sauce was pleasantly spicy and an excellent accompaniment to the pickles. Our connoisseur pronounced them some of the best she has eaten. The Reuben sandwich was a last minute decision and turned out to be an excellent choice. The corned beef was flavorful and moist without being greasy, the sauerkraut had a slight tang, and the thousand island dressing gave the right balance of sweetness. The marbled rye bread was toasted and held up to the weight of the sandwich. This was an unexpected delight. The burger was another hit. The meat was fresh, moist, and flavorful, the toppings fresh and crisp, and the bun soft without falling apart. The sides of fries and onion rings were cooked perfectly and were provided in a generous amount. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. It is obvious the staff has a lot of experience and knows how to treat customers right. We even met the owner who was checking on customers and took the time to talk to everyone. Chubby's is a must-stop location any time you are even near the area. Treat yourself and take the time to stop for a meal. You deserve it.

Good local diner with down home food. It's not a fancy place, and doesn't try to be, but provided quality food at affordable prices. Burgers are really good and their country fried steak was excellent per the wife. Staff was very friendly and restaurant appeared to be clean. Inside you'll find typical wood booths and tables. Would definitely visit again.

Absolutely amazing will be a new regular spot for sure! A little out of the way from the strip but well worth it!

I try to be absolutely honest with all of my reviews. With that being said, if you are looking for a great burger, this is the place! I got the Mushroom & Swiss burger and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were perfect, and it was cooked perfectly. The one thing they don't mention is how big a double is! lol The staff was just like you imagine from the south, polite, respectful and friendly! It is a local "mom & pop" restaurant, and they are doing it right! Highly recommend!

Gordon Ramsey would consider it a threat. As a chewy bacon lover and enthusiast, when my bacon came out charred and demented, i was appalled to say the least. I had to drench it in the white gravy so it would give my stomach the illusion of chewy. Even then, even with the request of chewy, i was let down. The home fries were exceptional.. as exceptional as any other home fry you'll get on the Pigeon Forge strip. And why? They'll all the same refrigerated chips of processed mess. Soggy, not even crisp. So poor you'd hope the microwave would add additional flavors from all the other food they microwaved. I wouldn't even praise the food if paid me, it's sad enough i paid IT to taste like wet squeaky boots. But anyways the atmosphere was just bewildering! They have a big exhibit with birds you can watch. Sometimes they're loud and a bit squawk-y but it doesn't deplete the experience. This is my internal conflict with a certain drink on the menu. The Monster. This satanic abomination soup of a beverage really tempted me. I drink energy drinks and was excited to try a Monster! I mean.. we're all a little adventurous deep down.. human nature! Wrong. Apparently.. With full fledged confidence.. as much as you'd expect at a busy bar playing BINGO.. I asked the waitress for a Monster energy drink. Big. Mistake. I get it.. I took an unsuspecting picture of the beast waiting.. opened it.. and took a sip. If you were to ask me, giving somebody a pedicure with your MOUTH would taste no different than a can of this monstrosity. Maybe I recommend the restaurant.. but I don't recommend the Monster. Our server--I believe his name was Joe--was incredibly attentive and accommodating. Food arrived VERY quickly. We had multiple people check on us throughout our dinner, all very polite. We ordered the fried chicken skins, buffalo frog legs, and bone marrow as appetizers. The chicken skins were HUGE and deliciously crunchy. The buffalo frog legs were very tender. The bone marrow paired very nicely with the bread it's served with. All were very tasty. For the main dishes, we got the 48 oz Tomahawk ribeye (topped with bone marrow butter and a side of fries), as well as the wood grilled lamb. We asked that the tomahawk be rare, specifying charred on the outside and still mooing on the inside, and they absolutely nailed it. The outside, especially the fat, was seared beautifully--it was absolutely delicious. The fries were very fresh and flavorful as well. We'd never had lamb before, so we asked our server to have them cook it the way he suggested. It was cooked phenomenally, and the flavors with the blackberry reduction were amazing. The goat cheese grits weren't overpowering, they were the best cheese grits I've had. The cornbread went very well with the steak. For dessert, we got the blackberry and blueberry cobbler, and the goat cheese cheesecake. They were both mouthwateringly delicious. I'm still thinking about that cobbler... Overall, there was not a single thing to complain about during our visit--besides it having to come to an end, lol. The online menu gave plenty of eye candy and we were absolutely starving by the time we arrived Friday evening. The staff was very attentive and kind. It's clear that this place is fully operated by word-of-mouth and return guests. It's a huge establishment with several rooms by big fireplaces and Lazy Susan's to pass around the family style meal. The menu was a little difficult to navigate so many options laid out, but only certain options available per day. So ultimately, we were not able to order exactly what we wanted, but we ordered what was available for Friday, which was the Salisbury steak, fried fish, and fried chicken. All of these meats came in a small portion to split amongst our three people, and with unlimited sides. Some of the sides were pretty impressive. I would have to say my favorite side was the broccoli casserole, followed by the mashed potatoes and gravy, which were real potatoes! The mac & cheese was more on the creamy side versus the gooey cheesy side. Unfortunately, some of our chicken was undercooked, and the skin was very thin and not too crispy. The fish was decent, not dried out whatsoever, which is a pretty good compliment. While my coworker said that the chicken and dumplings were her favorite, I failed to enjoy them :( All in all, this was not our favorite restaurant from our trip this weekend and it appears that big groups and big families really do enjoy dining at this establishment.

It had no crust or char on the outside. It came almost with the same consistency as a wet and greasy pulled pork. It had no Smokey Flavor and it did not have any BBQ flavor, at all. Mac N Cheese was flavorless and I would venture to say it came out of a can. The noodles were extremely mushy. There was no "pull" to the cheese, indicating real cheese wasn't used to make it. You can choose between 2, 3 or 4 entrees and all come with 4 sides. Our family style feast started off with cheddar biscuits dripping with warm, herbed butter. SO GOOD! I should have asked for more of these but I didn't want to get full and not have room for my AYCE entrees and sides! Peach tea was very sweet! We later diluted it with water and it suited our taste better, but I know they generally like it sweet in the south! We got the four entree four sides lunch for $23.99 per person and chose: - Fried chicken: tasted like Popeye's. The white meat was dry. The dark was where it's at. - Pot roast: Super tender, but salty. Comes with rice too. - Fried catfish: Awesome! Moist, flaky fish and crisp batter. Loved the tartar sauce too. Get this! - Chicken and dumplings: I guess this is how it's supposed to taste but we both didn't think it was good. - White cheddar mashed potatoes: Creamy and delicious! They mash the red skins in there too. - Creamed corn: Good, mixed with some grits. - Broccoli casserole: Awesome! Get this one too! - Coleslaw: Very good! Creamy, but not overly-so, and the crunchy buttery crackers on top made it! Desserts are $1.99/each and you can take it to go. We got one of each: - Peach cobbler: not enough peach. A weird goopy filler. Would have been better with some crunch. - Ooey gooey cake: Too sweet. - Banana pudding: Good! - Chocolate ooey gooey cake, special of the day: Yummy! Like a thin moist brownie. We liked this one much better than the regular ooey gooey cake. Kari was our server and she was as sweet as pie! Ask for a seat by the window so you can people watch below and the fountain show! I had the chicken tenders, with mac n-cheese and chicken & dumplings as sides. My wife had tenders with mashed potatoes and green beans. Both plates also included a biscuit w/ jam. Oh, and definitely get the cheese curds if you can! The restaurant has good seating and was very clean when we visited. Very happy we decided to stop in!

Sometimes the most frustrating restaurant experiences aren't the terrible ones…read more They're the ones that are so close to being really good. That's how I felt about Mama's Chicken Kitchen. I came in with high expectations. The restaurant has strong reviews, it's part of the Johnson Family of restaurants, and I've enjoyed several of their other establishments over the years. So I walked in expecting a meal that would have me planning a return visit before I even paid the check. What I got instead was one of the strangest cases of missing seasoning I've encountered in quite some time. Let's start with the positives. The people here are genuinely nice. Friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and seemed to care about providing a good experience. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and inviting. And the kitchen clearly knows how to cook food. The fried chicken was cooked beautifully. Crispy on the outside. Juicy on the inside. Exactly the texture you're hoping for when you order Southern fried chicken. The problem? The seasoning apparently called in sick. This chicken had all the flavor intensity of a weather report. No noticeable salt. No spice. No personality. It tasted like the chef had just completed community service at a nursing home and was legally prohibited from possessing a salt shaker. My piece of chicken was juicy and cooked properly. Unfortunately, my wife's chicken breast was noticeably dry, which didn't help matters. Then came the fried pickles. No seasoning. Chicken and dumplings. No seasoning. Coleslaw. Tasteless. At one point I started wondering if there had been some sort of building-wide seasoning shortage that nobody had told us about. The frustrating part is that none of the food was poorly cooked. Quite the opposite. The techniques were there. The textures were there. The execution was there. It just felt like someone got everything ready and forgot the final, critical step of making the food taste like something. This is a restaurant with good people, a pleasant atmosphere, and a kitchen that clearly knows how to cook. Now they just need to introduce their food to salt, pepper, and a few of their seasoning friends. Three stars. Because the potential is absolutely there. The flavor just never showed up for work.
