Walking into Mama's Farmhouse felt like walking into a big Southern kitchen where everyone's already happy to see you. From the moment we sat down, the food just kept coming . fried chicken that was crispy and juicy, fluffy biscuits, creamy mac and cheese, and sides that tasted straight out of someone's grandma's recipe box. Nothing felt rushed, and the staff was genuinely warm and attentive the whole time. And they had fun games to play outside while you wait. We played cornhole and ping pong. It was alot of fun. What really made it special was the atmosphere loud in the best way,we all were going back for seconds. You don't leave hungry, and you definitely don't leave disappointed. If you're in Pigeon Forge and want comfort food done right, this place is a must.

The outside is very quaint and appealing. They have a little photo cutout you can use to take photos and an outside game area. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was okay, but the wait staff and kitchen staff were a bit loud - almost yelling at one another to talk and was a small disturbance. The food was okay. It would be nice if they offered the full "meat" menu instead of a portion each day. While I am sure this is due to preventing waste, it's still manageable to offer a larger range to select from than 3 meats. The pricing is average for "all you can eat"; it comes to about $25/person before a tip. This includes their biscuits, summer salad, the two meats for the table, four sides for the table, drinks, and dessert.

As folks who visit Pigeon Forge 3-4 times a year, we had never been to Mama's Farmhouse until this past week. Holy moly. I am so sad that we had never been here before. We went on a weekday morning before 10. We got the breakfast served family style. This started with pinwheels (YUM), jelly/jam, and apples. So so good! We could have as much of anything they brought that we wanted. Our server was excellent and had us in stitches the whole time. It was very reasonably priced in my opinion, considering you could eat all you wanted and kids 5 and below were free. The atmosphere was like being at your mountain grandmas house and it warmed my heart as I looked around at family photos, the little lace valances, and the coziness of the restaurant. To top it off, my daughter was told "if ya eat good, you get to go to the toy box!" Lo and behold, there was a toy chest in the foyer filled with all the trinkets a nearly 4 year old could want. There is plenty of seating inside to wait, as well as seating on the porch, complete with a play area to the side to pass time before or after a meal with family. We had a blast and can't wait to come back next time!

Every time we have visited in the past, we have done the all-you-can-eat thing, choosing your meats and sides and they're brought out in individual bowls. This time, we went with the Blue Plate option: you choose your meat and sides (2 or 3) and they bring it on one plate. So it's the same food, except smaller portions, and cheaper. We had already decided we wanted a steak for dinner (see my review for The Cherokee Grill in Gatlinburg!) so this portion size was perfect! We got the fried chicken we were craving, but without being too stuffed for dinner that night. Win-win! As usual, service was sweet, fast, and friendly. Yet another great lunch at Mama's Farmhouse!

The biscuits were good but we didn't care for the syrup that was brought out with them. My drink came out wrong, TWICE (it was just supposed to be a sweet tea and lemonade). My little one spilled his drink because the lid wasn't on all the way and they just left the puddle there at our feet (at least bring me napkins and I will clean it up! But doing nothing is wild to me). and after I let them know about the spill I still had to make another request for him to get a new drink. The chicken was dry, the corn was over cooked, the Salisbury steak was also a bit dry and very small. We were very disappointed. The Mac n cheese was good as was the sweet potatoes and the desserts but my gosh, how can you be a southern momma's kitchen and get so much wrong?? We won't be back and I can't recommend this place.

We had no idea this was buffet style food service, but the food was amazing and the staff were friendly and great. All the food we had tasted home cooked.

Nope!! Never again! My husband and I ate here for dinner while visiting in October. We were going to a place next door that was packed, so we decided to go here instead. Bad decision. The food was not good. We were very disappointed in the quality and taste. All I can say is...don't do it.

Skimpy pieces of chicken...the white meat was a breast cut into thirds, and they kept trying to give us these wings.

And then I looked again, hoping that maybe something low-calorie or nutrient-dense was hiding and I just needed to look harder. Nope. But if you're looking for a sandwich that consists of chicken tenders between two glazed donuts, then this is your place. Sawyer's has other things that are not so county-fair forward. They are known for breakfast: French toast, pancakes, omelettes. If you get pancakes or waffles or the like, you should definitely ask for their house-made peanut butter syrup. It's amazing and so unlike anything that I've ever tasted. I got an omelette, which was good and had a lot of stuff in it. They will give you hot sauce upon request, which I was grateful for because I thought the omelette needed it. One thing that's really cool about Sawyer's is that they seem to take food allergies very seriously. That's always nice to see! As you're entering or exiting, make sure to admire the decor. It looks like you're in a barn, and as you exit, there's a gift shop with stuffed animals, t-shirts and other things to commemorate your visit to Sawyer's. This is a fun little place that's great for families, for sure.

I ordered the traditional schnitzel (pork cutlet that was pounded thin). It was not breaded, but it was coated with egg and flour and prepared well. I had the German potato salad and red cabbage side orders. Both were served warm as is custom. I was a bit upset that the waiter gave me the bill when the meal was finished. I told him it was my birthday and that I had wanted coffee and cake. He took the bill and crumpled it in his hand. The portion of cake that he presented could have easily served three! I left the top frosting. The chocolate cake was moist and the frosting between the layers was German chocolate. Available seating offerings were a booth, table, or a table al fresco. It had the beer garden appeal. I opted to sit inside. The restaurant is also very family oriented (as are most things in Pigeon Forge). Prices were reasonable, food was served at the correct temperature, portions were prodigious. The venue was also immaculate. I would recommend this tavern to anyone who appreciates German fare.
