The Riverstone Restaurant is a quint little country place that has great home style food. The bologna sandwich and grilled cheese with chilli was made to perfection. The service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant in Townsend just outside from the Smoky Mountain National Park.

oh my goodness. We stayed just down the street at Tremont lodge. We decided at 8pm to go eat. They're open until 9pm. The place was empty except 1 table. We have a little furbaby dog, and they allow dogs. They greeted us with a smile, and made us feel very welcome. Then all of a sudden, the place started filling up with people. This place is just outside the cove, so at dusk when people are leaving the cove, they are hungry. This place is one of the first places outside the cove in Townsend. We ordered and split their pot roast with vegetables, mash potatoes, and fried okra. It was absolutely amazing. Smoking hot, fresh melt in your mouth pot roast with potatoes, onions, carrots, covered with gravy and side of mash potatoes. With buttered Texas toast. The inside looks vintage, with family charm. Best meal we've had since being up in Townsend. They sell breakfast lunch and dinner. Don't miss this place!

My burger. I ordered it to go but decided to dine in since they were so friendly!

I stopped here after running the 5k that Vacation Races puts on. I was fairly hungry and they were only a ten minute walk from my room. I ordered the burger with fries and sweet tea. It was all tasty. The burger could have been cooked a little longer for my tastes. The fries were good and they give you a ton. Staff was super friendly! I also like the decor with an old timber feel.

I've been coming here for 20 years. Always love this country restaurant. This trip was off. The messed up the order pretty significantly and service was slow and follow up was subpar. Still love it but hope they step it up.

Great ambiance and wait staff. Love the oversized tables and decor. The food is a bit mediocre though. My grilled Rainbow Trout was thin and extremely over seasoned. I would not return for what I ate, but perhaps looking though other reviews would guide you to some better options.

This spot is near the cades cove entrance of smokies national park. We stopped after a bicycle event and were super hungry. This spot didn't disappoint. The portions are huge! We really wanted Pancakes but their breakfast ends and lunch begins close to 11.30 am. So plan ahead

Empty plate cause it so good.

Service was excellent. Breakfast was really bussin we had bacon, egg, pancake, and hatch browns. The atmosphere was pretty chill.

Do not dine here. Service too long, rude and our party of five with kids was ignored.

Unfortunately we got our days mixed up and our reservation was the following day. However the hostess told us it was not an issue and still seated us right away moving our booking to the correct day. The food came out in a timely manner and our server was very helpful as well. I ordered the seafood lasagna and it was very flavorful. Personally if I were to come back, I'd order another dish that was more filling. The server raved about how good it was and she was correct. It did have a lot of flavor to it. However it lacked seafood in the shells. At some points, I felt as though I was only eating shells and sauce with tomatoes unfortunately. Upon finishing our meal, unfortunately my father became ill after sipping water and going down the wrong pipe. We were so embarrassed seeing as though we were sitting in the middle of everyone dining. However the staff were so kind resulting us that it wasn't the first and dropping everything they were doing to tend to us with wet napkins and checking on my father. While we were deeply embarrassed, it really meant a lot to us that you all made us your priority in that moment and I greatly appreciate you alls service!

My husband and I have been here many times and we've loved it each time. Today, on Mother's Day, my…read morehusband wasn't feeling great so my ten year old son "brought" me for Mother's Day. It was more packed than I had ever seen (I'm guessing due to the holiday). We got there and were told 35-45 minutes and given a beeper. We went to sit in the car since there wasn't really anywhere else to sit. Working five minutes of getting to the car the beeper went off so we shut the car off, got out, locked it and went through parking to the front hostess area. They looked at the beeper and the list and told us they made a mistake so back to the car we went. About 30 minutes later the beeper went off and we were seated near the bar in the last booth by where everyone goes in and out of the bar. Or waited came out and took our drink order and my son had noticed the shark bite cocktail so we asked if they could make a virgin drink. It was horrible. So sweet he couldn't drink it at all. I tried it and agreed. It tasted like a slightly tart sugar water. We didn't complain because we did ask for the drink. Then we ordered our meals. My son got the Gator plate with fries which was perfect and he loves. I ordered 1 1/2 lbs of snow crab legs in a garlic butter sauce (which amounts to 3 clusters). It came with three sides since I ordered an extra half pound. Potatoes, corn and sausage. The seafood bread was amazing! If you go make sure to try it!!! Our meals were brought out. As I mentioned my sons was perfect. I noticed mine wasn't as hot as usual and figured as busy as they were it sat for a bit longer before being brought to the table. I've been eating crab all my life so I'm not new to how to eat it or remove the shells to get to the meat. As I carefully tried to snap the shells, they weren't breaking as they should and there was no getting any meat at all from the first two smaller sections. In the larger sections they wouldn't crack. Tried to use the metal crackers but it just squished it. I used the plastic tool which didn't work ands then used the metal fork. The meat wouldn't come out. It was completely stuck to the inside of the shell where I had to scrape it out with my fingernails. The claws were just add bad. I still kept trying while waiting on the waitress. When she got there I asked how they were cooked and she told me boiled in extremely hot water with fire. I told her what was going on so she went and got gloves and started trying to break my crab open. She wasn't able to get them out either so she went and told the manager. By that time I was done messing with them. He came over and I again explained what was going on. He offered me more cream or a discount. I should've taken the crab and brought them home but I chose the discount. I bagged up the two clusters to bring home to attempt to finish cooking them in hopes they'd be edible. When I got the bill, $7.00 was talked off for over $55 of crab. I felt extremely insulted. That didn't even cover my son's horrible drink but was supposed to make my Mother's Day meal better? We really loved this place but now I don't know if I'll go back. I'm not one of those people that complains all the time. I'm pretty sure if my husband was with me we wouldn't have gotten treated like that. Just an update, I steamed the legs and they came out perfect! I wish I had brought the rest home and just did it myself but since I paid for cooked crab legs I figured that's what I was going to get.

A Memorable Evening at Raven Steakhouse: A Refined Gem in Downtown Maryville…read moreAs a person with a particular appreciation for establishments that elevate special occasions, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Raven Steakhouse (211 W Broadway Ave, Maryville, TN 37801), and I can confidently say it sets a new standard for fine dining in the region. From the moment of arrival, the experience was seamless. Our reservation was honored promptly, and we were escorted through an elegantly appointed dining room that strikes the perfect balance: sophisticated and refined, with beautiful linens, soft lighting, and an atmosphere of quiet luxury that feels welcoming rather than intimidating. The space exudes timeless sophistication without a hint of pretension--a rare and refreshing quality. Our server, Alene--who doubles as a skilled sommelier--approached with genuine warmth and effortless grace. Her deep knowledge of both the menu and wine pairings proved invaluable, guiding us thoughtfully through an impressive selection of dishes. Attentive without ever being intrusive, she anticipated needs with remarkable precision, creating that ideal sense of being cared for rather than merely served. Alene's charm and professionalism elevated the entire evening. We began with two Raven Salads, which immediately demonstrated the kitchen's commitment to quality and restraint. The artisan mixed greens were impeccably fresh and crisp, serving as an ideal foundation for the other components. The bright acidity from pickled onions and the house vinaigrette was masterfully balanced against the rich, unctuous egg and perfectly portioned Benton's bacon--a locally revered ingredient that is too often overused. Here, it was handled with exemplary subtlety, allowing each element to shine. For entrées, my companion selected the Chilean Sea Bass, paired flawlessly by Alene with an unoaked Chardonnay, while I enjoyed the Prime Rib Eye. Both preparations were executed with precision: the sea bass moist and delicate, the rib eye richly marbled and cooked to absolute perfection. That first bite prompted the kind of involuntary satisfaction that only truly exceptional cuisine inspires--eyes closed, a contented lean back. The wine pairings did more than complement; they elevated and transformed the dishes, creating a harmonious whole that felt greater than the sum of its parts. An unexpected highlight came with dessert. We had initially ordered the signature 10-layer chocolate cake, only to learn the chef deemed that day's batch imperfect. Rather than disappointment, we were met with gracious transparency and a complimentary replacement. We chose the Bananas Foster, a dish new to me, and it proved transcendent: warm, caramelized bananas nestled alongside creamy house-made ice cream delivered pure indulgence. I now find myself wary of ordering it elsewhere, lest it fall short of this benchmark. To accompany the meal, we enjoyed an expertly crafted Old Fashioned and a pair of Espresso Martinis, each presented in ideal glassware and demonstrating true mixology artistry. In a year just beginning, Raven Steakhouse transformed our first "date night" of 2026 into an unforgettable celebration of culinary excellence and impeccable service. The drive home was filled with conversation about when we might return--proof of an experience that lingers long after the last bite. For anyone seeking a luxurious dinner where outstanding food, thoughtful wine and cocktail pairings, and genuinely gracious service converge, Raven Steakhouse is wholeheartedly recommended. This downtown Maryville treasure not only lives up to its elevated reputation but surpasses it. I eagerly anticipate my next visit.

Exceptional, all around delicious!! Steak, soups, salads, all of it!! We will definitely be back.read more
