Nice and quaint coffee shop on the parkway. They have a nice range of familiar drinks and specials, at an affordable price. Staff were friendly and very quick.

The coffee from here is incredible. Strong flavor, doesn't taste burnt, variety of creams and syrups. We've always been delighted to stop in on our trips and take in the beautiful valley view while sipping on our coffee!

Nice new addition to Townsend with great atmosphere

As locals, we are excited to have a new option in Townsend, and this place fits in perfectly. They have unique food offerings perfect for a quick / light breakfast. We had the wrap, egg "tart" (more like a fritatta), yogurt with granola, the chicken burratta panini, and biscuits with jam. Most of their food could be good for breakfast or lunch, which is convenient. The tart, panini (though it wasn't pressed), and wrap were good. The biscuits were good but would've been better hot, and the jam was odd--peach onion. I get the sweet / savory thing and usually love it, but this combo was a miss. The yogurt was amazing with great flavor. We tasted their gluten free chocolate cookie samples and they were great, too. Large selection of other baked goods looked great but we didn't try them this time. The service was quite off. I would've given three stars if they weren't new and hopefully just working out kinks. Much of our food never came so we had to go ask for it, only to find it was completely forgotten and not being prepared at all. There was a strange interaction about getting a cup of tea, which also never came. The young lady at the register said she was new but she kind of seemed new to the world in general. (She asked if we wanted a tea bag or the entire box when we ordered tea.) But she was polite and will learn I'm sure. Unfortunately the other employee must have been new or very inexperienced to restaurants as well. Hopefully that all improves because we'll definitely go back.

Friendly staff and cute little sitting area by the fire. The GF cookies are delicious.

More importantly, it's totally worth it. We got a box of goodies and they were all fantastic. You can taste the quality of the products they use. You can taste the butter. It's just lovely. My husband also really liked his latte. We sat inside and ate some of our goodies. We took the rest home for my mum for Mother's Day. My family loved them, too. Nice space. We also bought some whole wheat flour as a gift while there. Will absolutely go back when I'm in the area.

If I'd had more time, I would have loved hanging out here for a while. I only managed to get here about 45 minutes to close, so their selection was understandably if somewhat disappointingly quite picked over. I wound up with a cranberry oat scone and a blueberry and raspberry hand tart. The employee was very pleasant and warm. I appreciated her eagerness to help and positive attitude despite my late arrival. The baked goods sadly didn't really live up to my expectations. The cranberry oat scone was the much better of the two; it was pleasantly sweet and had the proper scone texture and only a little dry. Unfortunately, the hand tart had several edges that I discovered later had been burnt. This impacted the flavor of the whole item and sadly diminished it greatly. The fruit filling was tasty at least, though I didn't get much raspberry from it -- mostly blueberry. I'd be down to try again in the future, just would come earlier in the day when the selection is a bit larger and the products available are a bit more "choice," let's say. I appreciated the kind service and lovely vibes!

Some attractions sell an experience…read more Some sell a product. The Apple Barn Cider Mill somehow manages to do both. What started as a simple stop turned into one of the more enjoyable experiences of our trip. The star of the visit was our guide, who took us on a cider journey through the various flavors and offerings. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She answered questions, explained the differences between the ciders, and made the tasting experience fun instead of feeling like a sales pitch. And since there's a chance she might somehow see this review: Happy 40th Birthday! Sorry I forgot your name, but your hospitality certainly wasn't forgettable. Now let's talk about the cider. Excellent. There was a large variety of flavors available to sample, making it easy to compare styles and find a favorite. Whether you're new to cider or consider yourself a seasoned enthusiast, there's enough variety here to keep things interesting. After sampling our way through the lineup, we wound up purchasing a glass of the original apple cider and enjoyed it outside. And honestly, that's where the experience really came together. Sitting outside with a fresh cider in hand, playing cornhole and Jenga, enjoying the atmosphere, and slowing down for a little while made for a genuinely relaxing afternoon. No rushing. No crowds pushing you along. Just good cider and good company. We also picked up a growler to bring back to the hotel because one thing became very clear during the tasting process: leaving empty-handed would have been a mistake. The Apple Barn Cider Mill does a great job creating an experience that's welcoming, fun, and memorable without feeling overly commercialized. Great cider. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Five stars. And judging by the growler currently waiting back at the hotel, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
