We had so much excitement and suspense built up to try Old Mill Bakery and the famous cinnamon bread. I honestly do not know what all the hype is about. The bread is a giant loaf which doesn't make any sense to carry around at an amusement park and is pretty dry with just some sticky cinnamon goo on the bottom. I don't know why they don't serve it by the slice or maybe in the form of a roll? We tried some coffee with our cinnamon bread and it really wasn't very good though claiming to serve Starbucks. If your family eats a lot of sugary bready things, you may enjoy it more and it might make more sense to grab a loaf on your way out of the park to take home. Otherwise, I would say skip the bread and go for the rides instead! read more

This store is fabulous! The country store is must visit in a quaint village of Pigeon Forge. They are located next the trolley terminal that takes you to Gatlingburg. If you enjoy sampling dips, soups, pies, and salsas you will love this place as much as I did.. My favs are the spinach & artichoke dip and harvest pumkin dip. My wife Amy bought a couple pecan pie mixes last year after sampling and loved them. She then tried all year to master "The Pecan Pie" from scratch. (They were super good) This year on our visit to the Old Mill I was surpeised to see her she stocking up on their pecan pie mix. She explained that after all that time perfecting her recipe the Old Mills was cheaper, easier and just as delicious.. The service is wonderful especially Dort who recommended we try their delicious soups with jalapeño corn bread. If you are in town I highly recommend this as a must stop. I been here several times on vacation and this is one of my favorite places to eat. I love the bread it is baked fresh and homemade. The pies are delectable and food is absolutely delicious. You can tell there is a lot of care taken in preparing food.I recommend sitting outside it's absolutely beautiful and relaxing. What a great lunch spot! (Or I guess any meal would be good...) The Pottery Cafe is one of the only wholesome places that Pigeon Forge holds. The absolute BEST dining experience I've had in a very long time!!! From start to finish this was absolutely AmAZing!!!!! First of all we had the perfect waiter (Paul) he took excellent care of us the whole way through from suggesting the pork chops ( which were awesomely tender and juicy) to refilling drinks and just making sure we had everything we needed. We never felt "bothered" (like u do sometimes when a waiter 'hovers') but we did feel taken care of. All of the food was delicious I would esp recommend the jalapeño corn pudding and the pork chops. Seating outside is the best! Even though it was warm, this spot was shady with a nice breeze. Their homemade bread was a nice way to start your meal. I ordered the chicken and a Caesar salad. The chicken was breaded and topped with cheese and mushrooms. Yum. Dressing was tasty but ask them to go light; it was a little too much. Hubby ordered grilled catfish and it was good. Fantastic food and atmosphere! If you are in the Pigeon Forge area it is well worth the wait. Locals love their quiche and the chicken almond is delicious! The fried green tomato BLT is a great twist on a classic sandwich. We ordered two kids meals and the boys loved them, they choose the fresh fruit side and it was not the typical honeydew and cantaloupe chunks, it was large cuts of tropical fruit.
