    Cinnamon Bread

The cinnamon bread at Dollywood is so famous, and it was number one on my list of foods to try during my visit. The line wasn't that long, and it moved very fast. The staff was very kind and told me exactly where I needed to go to pick up my bread. The loaf was served hot and fresh from the oven. We ordered an extra container of icing, and that was definitely a good idea. The cinnamon bread is a great size, and we shared it between 5 people. They have a small seating area right outside the bakery, but it fills up very quickly. We also got an extra loaf at the end of the day to warm up the next day for breakfast. You have to try this famous treat at least once!

Since planning our trip to Dollywood, the biggest "must" I've read was to get at least 1 loaf of cinnamon bread. I was excited for the hype and maybe I shouldn't have listened to the hype as much as I did. The cinnamon bread is good, don't get me wrong! It's baked perfectly, soft, and warm. It tastes exactly like a cinnamon roll. My problem is the sugar crystals on the bottom. The sugar content hits you hard and you have to prepare the doctor as to why you suddenly have diabetes after years of great health. Jokes aside, it's too sweet on the bottom, so best to avoid licking the pan (in my opinion, my husband disagrees). Now, we are coming back home to NC with three new loaves of cinnamon bread and tiny tubs of icing...after already finishing one loaf in a night's sitting. However, it is homemade and I'm pretty confident I can make this cinnamon bread myself. The employees were super nice. A gentleman checked us out and gave us an extra icing for free without asking. The lady packaging the breads gave us a bag upon request and packaged it for us (while other customers were doing it themselves). We really did have 5 star service! Is the bread worth the hype? I mean, it's worth some hype but maybe I just didn't join the Cinnamon Bread cult...yet.

While all of the food at Dollywood is delicious, if you can only get one item, make sure it is their famous cinnamon bread. It is popular for a reason because it is that good. I went in the off season so lines were not bad at all, but I can imagine that it could get quite busy. The icing that comes with it is equally yummy, or you can get the apple butter. And it all comes in a box that travels well so be sure to take an extra loaf home with you before leaving the park!

What happened to this place? I came a few years back and was great. I went into the building after waiting in like for 20 minutes and the employees were rude and the guy said with an attitude that I had to pay somewhere else then bring the ticket to them to pick up the bread. I said they should have a sign stating this if so. I looked all around, by the front door... ZERO signs saying to pay somewhere else. So then I had to wait 45 yes 45 minutes for s damn ticket for 1 bread. I wanted to get 2 tickets and get one of the breads later and they said no they cant do that. Are you freaking kidding me..... Now the bread is $14.39 for a few pieces of cinnamon bread that they changed the recipe or how they cooked it from year ago.

Even on a cold rainy night with a limited crowd on the last day of the Christmas event, there was a long line for this place! I only tried the cinnamon bread. It had a lot of sugar crystals in the cinnamon mix that hadn't dissolved so It was sugar bomb and I love sweet desserts! Staff was friendly and there's a decent sized selection of treats. The bread is in a cardboard type box with opening in the sides. This caused a lot of leaking while carrying back to the exit in the rain. It's a cute bakery but the bread didn't live up to the hype for me.

This cinnamon bread is too amazing to be true! It is the best with the icing, and dipping it in the warm, melted cinnamon and sugar at the bottom of the container! The apple butter is delicious as well, but I preferred the icing.

When visiting DW you HAVE to go get in line for this fresh baked goodness!! I wondered what all the fuss was about but stayed to the recommendations to get this stuff and boy am I glad we got 2 loaves!! Each load is almost $11 and you can get icing or apple butter for an extra charge which I got both however it's not needed. The cinnamon sugar topping they have on this and the softness of the bread just make this!! I almost ate a whole loaf by myself. The line builds up but the wait is so worth it. I promise. And recommend getting a few. There is seating around the area (benches and rocking chairs) for you to enjoy your bread. This is a order and go type setup.

If you are looking for the famous cinnamon bread that Dollywood is known for you've come to the right place. Set in an actual gristmill they bake cinnamon bread constantly. You can get it with or without a creamy topping. When I arrived there wasn't a line so it was easy to make a purchase. You actually can see the loaves as they are set for baking along with the prepared loaves. They also sell apple butter and various syrups here. If you forget to buy the latter they are available in Dollywood's emporium. Cinnamon bread now retails for $12.95 per loaf plus tax but believe me it is worth the investment! It is large enough to share with other people. That was certainly my case and I was glad I had both my husband and daughter to share it with. Needless to say it is delicious and worth every penny. The cinnamon bread is also available at the DM pantry at Dollywood's Dreammore resort. The Grist Mill is located in the Craftsman's valley section of Dollywood.

The cinnamon bread is absolutely worth the park visit alone! Lol I went in closer to closing time but the bread was still warm. I tried both the icing and apple butter, I'd like to say don't waste your money on the apple butter but you gotta try it atleast once. My favorite was the icing but the bread alone tastes so good, especially with the butter, cinnamon, sugary concoction that puddles at the bottom of the tray. It is best eaten straight out of the shop while it is still warm. I'm sure you could warm it up at home but definitely not the same experience.

Okay, I made it my mission to get cinnamon bread because everyone at Dollywood said to lol. I got two, and was so upset I didn't get more! This bread was absolutely deans taste even better warm. My children demolished one by themselves. I probably got two small pieces.

Warm, buttery cinnamon bread with cream cheese icing; how can you go wrong? Always a line for this at Dollywood, but worth the wait!
