There literally aren't enough kind words out there, to properly convey my satisfaction with Shannon @ Cakes by Bakin Bishop.. 1st off, I was in town for a VERY last minute wedding for my brother & new sister in law! I arrived in TN from Florida a few days earlier than the rest, so I was put in charge of finding a decorative 2 tiered wedding cake. Yelp came to my rescue when I found this place! It was a Thursday afternoon & crowded when I went in! I'm convinced people line up for the free smells, too, bc OMG! Delicious. Everything about the place is delicious I needed the cake done & delivered to the restaurant post nuptials @ 3:30.. Boy did they deliver!! The Bride's face lit up when she realized the gorgeous 2 tiered cake w/ white roses & a silver drip around the edges was for her! It was a great price & I paid extra for delivery (WORTH IT!) I decided to try this place based on seeing the work on social media and thought that it looked like a reliable bakery for my elopement. I wanted a wildflower cake, I bought $30 dollar edible flowers on Etsy, informed the owner I bought them and was sending the flowers out to be an addition to my cake. I also sent a screenshot of the exact flowers that I ordered on Etsy. When i arrived the day before my wedding the cake had none of the flowers I bought. As the worker boxed the cake I had to add that I was missing the flowers I had sent. The worker called the owner and said she never received them- I checked the tracking they were delivered in the mailbox on 4/24. I paid $70 for a white 6 inch cake that I could have bought at Publix or Kroger for half of the price! So overall super disappointed, I feel like there should have been more communication before pick up. read more

Spotted this cute little bakery from the mountain coaster across the street. Since the commute was easy we decided to check it out and glad we did. We went with the 12 pack of mini cupcakes. They had six flavors so we got them all. They had a variety of icings so we got them all. They had a wall of sprinkles but I limited the kids to picking 3, we didn't need to be too ridiculous. Wow! Honestly I'm speechless with how they treated us. They were so nice to us! This little hidden gem is so aesthetically pleasing and this place really makes you feel like you're at home. We ordered 8 cupcakes with different toppings and icing. The cupcakes are very big can be eaten by two people. The icing is delicious. I would honestly buy the icing itself, it's that amazing! When I called to order cupcakes I was told they are not open on Saturday, but the owner, Shannon, was so nice. She let me order the cupcakes and pick them up on Saturday morning. I ordered 6 jumbo cupcakes. Man, jumbo was no lie! We tried chocolate with peanut butter (2) buttercream, chocolate with amaretto pecan buttercream, vanilla with blackberry frosting, vanilla with chocolate buttercream, and strawberry with regular buttercream cream. Two days in a row we visited this little locally owned bakery. We had the velvet cupcakes on the first day and the cinnamon rolls the second. There are few words to describe either edibles. Amazing, melt in your mouth, day altering are the ones that come to mind. The icing is rich but not overpowering and the cakes/bread was a perfect amount of moist. If we lived in this area we would be in serious trouble. The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever want to meet. Even though they were closed on Tuesdays, during their off season, she met me for cake pick up. The cake was a huge hit. My whole family, especially my grandmother, thought it was beautiful. Over the weekend we ate the whole thing.
