Today was my first time coming here. I tried the iced lovestruck latte, a special valentine's themed drink that was created by a barista. It was pretty good. Upstairs there is a book store with a wide variety of choices. They have a system where you can ask them if they have a specific book in stock and they will tell you. You are also able to have books ordered if they are not in stock as well! Inside the bookstore there is a sweet cat that enjoys napping and pets. Very neat place.

For jarring my memory and giving me memories to fix not writing a great review for this place. We traveled to Brevard back in 2022 for one of our annual leaf viewing tours. Fun fact about Brevard! There are white squirrels everywhere. There are also regular brown squirrels too. My wife told me about this before we got here but it's strange, there are so many of them. One of the oddest things I find is that there are no mixed squirrels. Like kinda brown, or kinda white, it's either one or the other. They hang together, surely they get it on. What the hell is going on here?!?!? Where did they come from? Why haven't they spread to other areas?? Anyway.... About this bakery. We stopped by here a few times for meals and snacks. Most of it was just pretty good and nothing to really write home (lol) about. I did not know this at the time and did not truly savor the moment well enough. I had the absolute best pastry I have ever had in my life here. I often think back to it and when I see a similar looking pastry only to be let down when I try it. It was the scone to beat all other scones!!! So freaking good!! Orange Pistachio Coriander was the flavor and nothing will ever beat it I am afraid!! If you make it here, check out the white squirrels. There are even gift shops dedicated to them and I swear they have little signs all over town about them. Also.... Mantiques is right down the way. All the ladies that were working there today were very helpful, kind. and generally very nice in Customer Service! After a hard decision, I got one of their huge cinnamon buns with the original icing, and two of their homemade original cream horns. On my way to the checkout, I saw at a different type of bakery bread,"Blueberry Goat Cheese Sourdough "- never had seen this combination loaf before, so my curiosity said buy it and try it! After my ride home to Hendersonville, I decided to cut us a couple of slices and toast this bread. I must say that this is extraordinarily delicious and the quality of the bread is superb. I can't wait later to try a little bit of my other sweet treat findings.
