This is a nice little nugget stashed away in a small town of Franklin NC at the end of town. Stopped in one late morning and picked up a maple bacon donut and was immediately confident I would return for a second visit during our vacation I the Smokies. Second visit my wife and I got there earlier and picked up a few items, apple fritter, maple bacon of course, cream cheese cinnamon roll, pumpkin cheese cake and a breakfast bagel and a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant donut. Enjoyed everything there in the quaint little sitting they have. I will say I've had better apple fritters where the apples are baked in but it was still delicious. The owner informed me of a hungry man sandwich that a re-occurring patron gets. Cinnamon roll with double egg meat and cheese. I'm totally and without doubt revisiting to get that b/c I love super special items that local restaurants come up with. Overall it was an awesome experience and the staff was super nice as you would expect from the small southern area like Franklin. Pricing for this sandwich is ridiculous at $7.99 and may have an uncharge for the cinnamon roll, but I wouldn't have cared. But pretty sure it was only $7.99. My wife got the sausage and gravy biscuits we heard another patron from the previous day rave about. She enjoyed them and said they were exactly how sausage and gravy should be. She likes it with lots of pepper but she forgot, but regardless loved this over a previous experience at another restaurant. While there they were rotating customers in consistently which is always a good sign. Overall, excellent place to get your donuts, sugary fix in the morning or a savory plate. Great value for the price. The location is easily accessible. The staff is 100%. Recognizing and acknowledging previous customers, even those that aren't local, is a big "CHECK Mark" in the customer service category. Thanks for the great experience. Wow!! I can't believe they didn't have a Yelp yet! So we are on our way to Tennessee and designed our trip specifically so we could stop by here. My s/o had someone who brought donuts to his work from here several months ago and he found out where she brought them from. Obviously he didn't forget about them and said we had to go try them because I hadn't. Thankfully we got there and they still had a good bit of donuts left. We got a half dozen for $5.99. We did the salted caramel, cherry cheesecake, coconut cream pie, lemon coconut glazed, apple caramel cinnamon sugar and the regular glazed. We have already eaten five of them. Oh my goodness, he was right. These are the best donuts we have eaten in any kind of recent memory other than maybe Atlanta. The lemon coconut was wonderful, flavorful, light, fresh. The coconut cream pie was good, not super forward with a fake coconut flavor. The apple still had a bite to the apple which was lovely. The cherry cheesecake was my favorite. It reminded me of a cherry cream cheese danish but...a donut . The glazed was perfect. Light, airy, not greasy. You know how sometimes you bite into a donut and it oozes? Not these. My family and I came to Franklin for a day trip from Dillard. We love to find and try local bakeries and cafes so based on the reviews Just Donuts! topped our list. We came for the donuts and were not disappointed! Fresh and fluffy and flavorful - they were a donut-lover's dream come true. We chose cream cheese, strawberry cream cheese, salted caramel, old fashioned, Bavarian cream, raspberry filled, chocolate and strawberry frosted and a couple of plain glazed - passing them around to share and taste. My favorite was the strawberry cream cheese. My husband's and my Mom's favorite was the salted caramel - unique, buttery flavor and not overly sweet. My daughter's favorite was strawberry frosted. My son's favorite was chocolate with sprinkles. With no greasy feeling or taste and not being overly frosted or dripping sugary goo these donuts were the perfect blend of dough and filling / topping. I don't quite understand the two 1-star reviews, so I'll clarify a couple of things; First of all Kaitlyn, the owner gets there around 3 a.m. to make the FRESH yeast-raised donuts daily. To stay open all day, just to be open during downtown events (especially evening events) would require that the staff be there for 16+ hours, to serve a traditionally morning treat. Wake up and get there early. They're only open until the sell out. Second, Branigan, the only time "pets" aren't allowed is when they aren't certified "Service" animals. Sorry, the purse dogs are NOT service animals. If the staff wasn't dog friendly, the woman behind the counter wouldn't have 3 dogs at home and wear a "Dog Mom" hat. She's just got enough common sense not to take them to a place of business that serves food without an outdoor patio to accommodate a "pet". And to even THINK for a second that they don't like children is absolutely absurd. Just ask any of the NUMEROUS customers who bring their kids in on a regular basis, for whom the staff knows most of the kids' names. Now that I've cleared that up, Just Donuts has the very BEST donuts you'll find in a 30 minute radius (at least) of Franklin. read more

This place is legit! Stopped in a few weeks ago while i was in town for a few days seeing a friend. Usually small towns have great donut shops and this is no exception. I got the maple bacon and the pb and j. Both were awesome, but i have to give them props on being one of the only places ive gone to that crisps their bacon. Its so frustrating biting into a beautiful donut that should be euphoric and instead you get limp, undercooked bacon. This one was what i had been longing for for so long. The pb and j was really unique as all the filling seems to be on top and they cut out the hole but leave it in. The texture is really nice to. Very soft and pillowy. The place itself was nice and clean and the staff seemed very friendly and welcoming. Prices were reasonable too. If im ever in Franklin again im definitely going back. read more

We just moved to Franklin in April and I have wanted to find a good fresh donut place. Last weekend during the sidewalk sale, we saw the sign for just donuts. Thought we would check it out. We were glad we did. We each had the bacon maple donut and a hot vanilla latte. Both were very, very good. Everything looked fresh and what we bought was great. We went back again this Saturday. This time, we tried a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese and a bacon egg and cheese croissant. Both the bagel and the croissant were very good. Very fresh. And the vanilla lattes we're also great. I can't imagine going to somewhere like Dunkin' Donuts after having these donuts and coffee. read more
