Let me start by saying the food was delicious, well prepared, appetizingly plated with nice portions. I ordered the pasta with 50/50 sauce and added grilled salmon. It was yummy. My hubby ordered the shrimp and grits - it's a different take on the dish than most "shrimp and grits" and it was outstanding. There is limited outside seating so we were glad to get a table. Inside seating seemed sterile and was quite loud. I am glad our meal and table were great because the service was not. The restaurant appeared normally busy and we saw the other servers regularly checking in on their customers. Our server, Brianna, greeted us with an attitude and it continued for the entirety of the meal. She never checked in to see if we needed anything. Once when we were able to get her attention and asked for more water, she literally looked at our water bottle, saw it was about 1/4 full, rolled her eyes and told us she would get us more when she got a chance. When she did bring a new water bottle, she placed it on our table with the same attitude she arrived with and never spoke a word. Her attitude only improved when she appeared with her electronic device happily announcing our bill. We had to ask to see the ticket - we always check to make sure everything is accounted for. She seemed annoyed but complied. We would definitely eat here again because the food was that good. We would not stay though if our only server option was Brianna. read more

This is a great place for dinner in Franklin! The food is fresh, varied, and well prepared. We've always had great service. It's great to sit outside, sip, eat, and watch the traffic on Main Street. What a wonderful place! The outside seating is great for beautiful views but inside seating is also very nice. Everything is clean and feels high end but it's also casual. We stopped here on our way home and our waitress was super sweet. I asked her to surprise me-which I know most waitresses aren't a fan of- but I have never been disappointed yet. I got the meatloaf and it was phenomenal! It was a lot of food though. If I didn't live so far it would be great for leftovers but I don't think it will survive the 7 hour drive to get home. read more

Came here 2x while visiting family in Franklin. 1st time was for brunch were I opted for a power bowl w/smoked salmon while dinner the 2nd time was for a simple Wayah Bald salad - no protein. Others members if my family for dinner opted for meat loaf, salmon, steak, and a kids nuggets. Service was great as we were taken care by Nash who was personable and prompt in service. I ate there this past weekend with a group of 14 after hiking to see the dam release at the High Falls trail. Caitlyn (I believe that was her name if I recall correctly) was our server, and she was exceptional. Everything was on point- from keeping our water glasses full to taking our orders and have everything come out pretty quickly. It's not easy handling the requests of 14 individuals, but she managed to pull it off seamlessly. As for the food, everyone enjoyed what they had. I had the burger, and it was pretty good! They have great vegetarian options, and the cocktails are always on point. Gracious Plates on Main is open seven days a week (hours vary, so definitely check online), and they're consistently open for lunch--which is such a plus in Franklin. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it never feels dark or cramped. The décor is adorable and gives off that "craft-cocktail meets farm-to-table" vibe that just feels good the moment you walk in. As for the food it was outstanding. We had the Sunday brunch. The meal was well worth the price! We went there after church on Sunday ( March 22nd it was our 51st wedding anniversary). Stopped by on our way to Asheville. We were greeted by a sweet lady standing in the front and she even recommended some great dishes. The food was good, but the service not so much. We ordered 9 dishes and only 6 came out. We reminded our server about the missing dishes TWICE and only 2 out of 3 came out. The last missing dish came out after we were done with everything. Rather than acknowledging the error, Brianna blamed that us ordering 2 different salads confused the order. I get that things can happen but we were one of only 3 tables in the whole restaurant. This place is a very unexpected when you enter in. It is very unique, quaint, and pretty. I suppose I didn't expect it looking at the outside. I thought it looked more like the typical restaurant from the outside with the black signage but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The food was good for the most part. I liked the appetizer the most which we had the crab fritters and my son boasted how he loved his fried Shrimp. The service was wonderful. Caitlyn was attentive and provided several recommendations. The manager did stop by or I think it was the manager but she seemed like she was in a rush but did ask us, the food is good right? And, I did respond it was delicious which it was. Best meal in Franklin, Many visits and not once thought it to be anything but exemplary.

Having been to Gracious Plates from their soft opening to after they've been open for several months, I can say I am not too fond of their food options. From their chilled quirky glass bottle of self serve water, to the shot glass of thick sweetener to sweeten your ice tea to your liking, this restaurant is a favorite for some and attempting to be bit too "ritzy" for others. They do have breakfast and lunch, I can't speak for their dinners because we haven't been there for their dinner service. This little dive prefers that you have a reservation but walk-ins are welcome, though I feel we were seated differently, the four times we have been there, in a less impressive side of the restaurant and even felt a little rushed by the male that met us at the entrance once we answered his question of whether we had a reservation or not. From what I HAVE had, the food also seemed dry, sometimes cold from waiting too long under what I assume is a heat lamp, and the wait staff seems to be in a hurry to the point we have been forgotten on several occasions when requesting a replacement of a side or waiting on a refill of drink. It's a bit pricey for what we get and I can't help but feel as though they are trying to pass themselves off as ritzy or "west coast" via their menu options, meal titles, portions and prices. After at least 4 times of giving this restaurant a whirl, we have given up on going there. Some locals do seem to like going here, but don't let my review stop you from trying them out. They just aren't our cup o tea. read more

While visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Franklin, NC. she recommended Gracious Plates as a place to enjoy a nice meal in town. What a pleasant surprise. Gracious Plates offers a wide variety of choices on it's menu including small plates, entrees, vegan and gluten free options. Wine, cocktails and deserts are also featured. We decided to have some small plates and to share an entree. It was a difficult to pick as so many of the small plates are appealing. We chose the Lamb Meatballs with arugula, and tzatziki sauce. Crab Fritters and Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms. All were just fabulous. The Stuffed Portobello was our favorite As our shared entree we had the Brasstown Flat Iron and Frite, a truffled garlic sauce was served with this entree. The steak was done exactly how we enjoy it, medium rare. Still a bit hungry we ordered up another Stuffed Portobello. The Ambiance and Table Service were top notch. The restaurant is spacious and tables are well spaced. There is an outdoor dining option as well. In Summary this is a nice gem of a restaurant in Franklin NC. The food was delicious and the menu varied. The only downside of the meal, in our opinion, was the small plate prices to the portion size, was a bit pricey albeit delicious. Here is the full menu.
