Food was delicious, Rib Eye with Truffle mashed potatoes. And a Cullasaja salad with flat iron steak.

While visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Franklin, NC. she recommended Gracious Plates as a place to enjoy a nice meal in town. What a pleasant surprise. Gracious Plates offers a wide variety of choices on it's menu including small plates, entrees, vegan and gluten free options. Wine, cocktails and deserts are also featured. We decided to have some small plates and to share an entree. It was a difficult to pick as so many of the small plates are appealing. We chose the Lamb Meatballs with arugula, and tzatziki sauce. Crab Fritters and Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms. All were just fabulous. The Stuffed Portobello was our favorite As our shared entree we had the Brasstown Flat Iron and Frite, a truffled garlic sauce was served with this entree. The steak was done exactly how we enjoy it, medium rare. Still a bit hungry we ordered up another Stuffed Portobello. The Ambiance and Table Service were top notch. The restaurant is spacious and tables are well spaced. There is an outdoor dining option as well. In Summary this is a nice gem of a restaurant in Franklin NC. The food was delicious and the menu varied. The only downside of the meal, in our opinion, was the small plate prices to the portion size, was a bit pricey albeit delicious. Here is the full menu. The restaurant was cute and cozy. The staff was very pleasant. The food was pretty good! We had the truffle cheese fondue for an appetizer which I liked a lot. Then we split some more appetizers for dinner. We had the fired pickles (my favorite) fried mushrooms (they were okay) and then the bruschetta (wasn't my favorite). We also got the veggie pasta with white wine sauce which was great! Overall it was a good place and we will be back. read more

Once again Gracious Plates outdone themselves. We were there last night with another couple for my birthday. I always get the Franklin Kick but I was determined to try something different and their take on the Old Fashioned was excellent. Whenever I am here I get the incredible Grit Cake in one way or another. This time it was in their own spin on Shrimp & Grits....OH MY! I am now ruined for traditional S&G!!! My next goal is to get here for Sunday Brunch! read more

My husband and I dined at GPOM and had such a wonderful experience. I am terribly sorry to the amazing waitress who was a fantastic wine connoisseur and other waitress who loves Twilight that I did not get your names. The service we received was outstanding. They were extremely accommodating and were wonderful to chat with. We went all in for dinner and started with the lamb meatballs and sweet potato chips. FYI they have bogo starters on Thursdays! The meatballs were amazing and so was the taziki. The chips were addicting. As our entrees we both had steak. I had the strip and my hubby had the Ribeye. Both were very generous portions and just so good. I tried the wine flight to go along with my meal and everything I was recommended was so good. GPOM we love you and your amazing staff. We will be back to visit the next time we are in town. read more

Would never go back here. It was quick and it was easy to get to being on the square are the only positive things I can say. The pork chop was dry and the chicken was so bloody and I asked for them to check the temperature and I don't think our waitress even checked. Mind you I never ask anyone to send anything back!!She said "the chef said it was at the proper temperature but it was how it's cooked" why it was bloody. The atmosphere was so odd and I didn't eat half my food. read more

Perfect Dinner - My husband and I had lunch here a month ago and we liked it so much we decided to go back for dinner last night with another couple. It was even better than lunch. I'm glad it's not located in Waynesville because we would be eating there every night. Two at our table had steak and loved them. Two of us had shrimp and scallops small plates. So good! Even though we were full we ordered desserts. OMG ! The winter berry tart. Excellent. Our waiter Nash was friendly and professional and funny! What else could you want in a waiter! read more

The food is fantastic. It doesn't matter what you order, everything is delicious! Service is always great. Just a great place all around.

Okay, I am generally not the person to give a negative review but I think this is important. First, I will say my husband and I ordered this as a delivery through Yelp! and DoorDash. So it took a minute to get our food. I ordered a steak medium rare with sautéed veggies and mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the salmon entree with sautéed veggies. He really enjoyed his meal. He compared the fish entree to one he ate in Key West. My steak and potatoes were very underwhelming for the price. This was one of the toughest steaks I have ever tried to eat. It's like the top half of the steak was almost tender but the bottom part was like I was trying to chew through a shoe. This could be a butcher/prep issue since the flat iron steak is made by removing the more tender portion of the meat from the thick, connective tissue. The potatoes had potential but there was just something I didn't like about them. I hope this experience would have been better in person. I feel like it all has potential but some adjustments may need to be made. read more

Great spot. The food was good, the cocktails were great. The service was on point. Great spot for a lunch or brunch.

The food is amazing thanks to the chef, as is the staff. The environment is calm and clean.

We had a great group dinner here! The staff and service was amazing. All of the dishes have great flavor and are fresh. I really like knowing that it's farm to table so you're getting fresh ingredients and protein. We ordered fried green tomatoes that fried crispy and had a nice kick of the slight tart taste of the tomato and the sauce used is a great addition. We also ordered the tomato bruschetta and that was on nice pieces of toasted bread with tomatoes. For my main dish I ordered the sautéed shrimp with andouille sausage that has a side of fried cheese grit with peppers and capers. The flavor is explosively good with peppers and capers plus I don't know how they made that fried grit cake and it still had that moisture of the grits on the inside. I enjoyed everything and my colleagues also loved their meals. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area to check them out. read more

Food and service were excellent. We can't wait to go back! So many things on the menu that we want to try.

One of the worst flat iron steaks I have ever had. The steak was so tough even the steak knife would not cut it. Flat iron steaks are supposed to be tinder second only to filet mignon. I told the waitress and she said it was the way it was cooked. She did not offer to notify the cook or the manager. Most places would have rectified the issue but not this restaurant. Very disappointed. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Will not be back. read more

We just got back from our second visit to Franklin. We have enjoyed Gracious Plates several times and last evening was no exception. The Gracious Sampler had a variety of veggies, truffle cheese fondu, awesome hummus, tepanade and bruschetta. The sampler and shrimp wraps made a great meal. Linda enjoyed her pasta with vegetables and hangar steak. Madison took excellent care of us and provided a great wine recommendation. read more

We visited with friends tonight as Gracious Plates had a "soft opening." We arrived early (5:15) for dinner. By the time we left, there was quite a crowd of people waiting outside to be seated. I had the Righteous Rebel Farm Chicken with vegetable of the day, which was broccolini and cauliflower, for $26. Hubby had Meredith's Pork Tenderloin with mashed potatoes and broccolini, for $24. They had a few wrinkles, which should be ironed out soon. We wish them the best! read more

We LOVE this restaurant! So many wonderful food and drinks options, stellar service, cozy but modern ambiance, and online reservations are the cherry on top! We will be back! read more

Food was amazing, Service stellar. The amounts were definately gracious. Small plate choices even had specials.

I along with my 5 family members all consider ourselves "foodies" with pretty high food standards. We were blown away by every dish here - so much so that we came back again the next day. Their chef absolutely knows what she's doing with the ever changing specials and unique dishes that you can't find just anywhere. Not to mention the service is super fast even when they're slammed, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. The tuna & scallops both cost $12 and were very generous portions. The negative review below is honestly a little laughable- just seems like the kind of person that likely complains anywhere they go. You'd have to try really hard to not love this place! read more

Great service! Kat was attentive, friendly, and on point with everything. Food was good, but the service made the visit.

We went to GP on a whim...so glad we did!! Portobello appetizer was excellent - just wish we had ordered two! Our entrees were delish. Pasta with chicken and sauteed shrimp with andouille sausage. Nash was so helpful - not pushy, good balance of assisting and suggesting, funny anecdotes. Will definitely be going back...soon!! Thank you for a delightful experience. Excellent farm-to-table restaurant located in downtown Franklin, NC! Food, service, and atmosphere are superb! Kim is a wonderful, competent, kind, friendly server at 'GPOM!' read more

First of all, this was one of the best meals of my life. Seriously. I still can't believe we stumbled upon it. I had called several restaurants trying to find a place where we could bring our pup and offered a covered outdoor patio since it was raining. After an hour of searching and calls, the idea of sitting down for a decent meal with a one yr old Golden wasn't looking too good and I began dreading another trip to Ingles. When we found Gracious Plates online I called to double check the acceptance of a pup and made reservations. The outside table was ready for us when we arrived which caught me off guard. Now, about the food. Let me start with saying every bite was bursting with flavor. I had shrimp and grits. This was not JUST shrimp and grits. It had sausage, capers, peppers and God knows what else. The grit cake melted in your mouth. I've only had shrimp and grits once in New Orleans at a restaurant called Le Petit Grocery. It was fantastic, but this version, here in little Franklin, NC was even better. My partner ordered the pork tenderloin which I stole a bite. Crazy good! Who cooks like this? The mushroom, sesame, soy potsticker appetizer was recommended by our lovely server Kim. Neither of us knew what a potsticker was but if Kim recommended it we were going to get it. Of course, they we're interesting and delicious and we knew after the first bite that we were in a for a real treat when the main course arrived. The outside table was comfy and our pup was quiet and happy. We tried to sit down at a restaurant last week in Asheville and a couple cute dogs weren't happy and scared the dickens out of us and our pup so we never made It to our table because we had to run out. Oh well. Needless to say, pup being comfy was a bonus. We met a lovely couple from the AT who were resting for a couple days. They certainly seemed to enjoy their steaks. Oh, we each had a beer but the craft cocktails looked amazing. Next time I'll order one of those. We live in Fl, but have a home in Whittier so there will be many next times with this little gem. Excellent all the way around!! Food, service & atmosphere. Second time there. It was just as good the first time!

Food was good, portions were a little large for lunch and a bit too pricey for lunch. We had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes (could have used more potatoes) and a small salad - $25.00 Service was excellent! Ambiance is great for the space they have. read more

This place has become our favorite - always delicious food & great service. Today we ordered the shrimp cocktail special & cheese fondue appetizers- both were delicious! Fondue plate serves fresh veggies, beets, cauliflower & jicama. We ordered the Tellico & Wayah salads, adding salmon & flat iron steak respectively. Both dishes were cooked & served perfectly, the dressings are fresh & delicious additions. We try but can't resist to add the grit cake to the meal, the tastiest & most original side item ever. It's not an inexpensive meal but you won't find better farm fresh food anywhere! read more
