This meal was the highlight of our weekend visit to Franklin. We travel and dine out quite a bit and aren't super easy to please. We were honestly blown away by the quality and flavors of the food. Everything we ordered was delicious. The surprise star of the meal was the flatbread with olives. Didn't expect that but it was the best flatbread we've ever had. We were full after our entrees but got dessert to go because we didn't want the meal to end Lemon cake was on point and flourless chocolate torte was like a delicious truffle. Great ending to a meal we'll remember for a while. Our female server was outstanding, knowing just when to check on us and bringing drink refills without being asked. The place was understandably busy on a Sat. Night, so reservations are a good idea. We'll be back to this gem! read more

Food was very good. Service was good if you don't mind the constant selling by staff on the lemon cake dessert. I found it annoying. Portions were below average in size. Food was AMAZING. Waitress was about as attentive as a brick. Checked on us 3 times in an hour and a half. They were not busy enough for it to take that long. When i asked her if she would check on our food I got attitude. The table next to us had a different waiter, same amount of guests, and got all of their food, apps, desserts, and check. by the time our food was coming out. My wife and I can in for brunch on Sunday. We had to wait 30 minutes which wasn't bad. We ordered our meals but were not able to get the grit cake like we wanted because they were out. I ordered the Smoked trout sandwich and my wife ordered the burger. We waited over 25 minutes for our meals. We did notice that our meals were coming out but those people came in before us. The staff was very friendly and did check in on us a couple of times. We were received our meals the bacon my wife's burger was over cooked and was not eatable. The waitress went and replaced the bacon with fresh. She also had home fries on her plate when the menu had shoestring fries listed on it. When she questioned one of the other waitress about the fries she said that they do not serve them during Brunch. We actually noticed the fries on previous plates that came out before ours. When our original waitress came back, we ask her the same question. She said that they possibly ran out of shoe string fries. After this my wife took a bite of her burger and said somethings not right with this burger. She asked me to take a bottle of it. I found the burger to be very tough and lacking and flavor. It was so tough that it was hard to chew. She ended up only eating a quarter of the burger. The trout sandwich that I ordered was good however, the smoked trout seem more like salmon. It was very very pink and didn't resemble the texture of trout at all. By this time, we were so dejected and ready to leave we already put in an hour and a half in this restaurant and we were done not having a meal that either one of us was satisfied with. We told the waitress that this was possibly the worst meal that we've had there which we have been there several times And it's been hot or cold but never really great. The waitress Sam let me go get the manager and I said no we ordered this food will pay for it. Just pass it along that it was not that great. Unless something changes or it goes for a while, we will probably not be returning to this restaurant for a good while. Hopefully they will take this feedback and use it. I want to see local restaurants thrive but as of right now would not recommend this restaurant. read more

I usually have rave reviews for Gracious Plates. The service is great and the food is amazing most of the time. The last time we went I highly recommended the Steak & Eggs Brunch to my friend and he had to return the steak twice and asked for something different rather then offer them a 3rd time to mess it up. He asked for it to be cooked medium well and it came out rare and then medium rare. Maybe a new cook was on the grill, I'm sure they will do better in the future. The food is absolutely delish. The sampler platter a must. They have daily specials call to find out. Today was the wines tomorrow the small plates. Who's kidding who this is what you need to order the lamb meatballs, scallops, tempura shrimp and the grit cake with Gouda cheese omg!!!! You can bring your pup! Parking on the street but they do get busy so make reservations. Jaimie our server was over top. My drink never went dry and my pup was never thirsty either. We sat outside with views of the mountains can't get better than that. We will DEFINITELY come back and tell others to support this amazing establishment. read more

The sous vide steak was absolutely melt in your mouth and bursting with flavor. And the garlic mash were yummy, yummy. I highly recommend saving room for dessert. The chocolate torte with the coffee crunch ice cream was over the top. My husband got the lemon raspberry cake and he was highly impressed. What a wonderful choice to have downtown. Upscale service, a wonderful variety of foods capitalizing on local produce and meats. A mountain treasure where time stands still for a true meal enjoyment. Matthew was our exceptionally informed waiter on local farming. We followed his recommendations and very satisfied we did . We made our meal a selection of small plates (tapas) of lamb meatballs, shrimp with honey, and one of those salads bursting with freshness. We had a lovely meal at Gracious Plates last evening . I had the pasta with white wine sauce, to which I added scallops, and my husband had one of the salads, to which he added salmon. It was a very substantial piece of fish! We also had cheesecake with bananas foster on top. Yummy! All were excellent. Our server, Chloe, couldn't have done a better job. A couple of women in my water aerobics class recommended Gracious Plates to me today. My husband and I had to go to Franklin today and thought we would try it. The women were right. We loved this place. We shared three of the small plates. Tempura Shrimp, Crab Fritters and Tuna Bites. Each one was so good neither one of us could decide which one we liked best. Wednesday is half price wine day and they have an excellent selection. Service was fantastic and loved the decor. We will be back. read more

I was traveling with a friend to Asheville in July and stopped by here after reading the reviews. Loved the atmosphere, very cozy and inviting. We were seated right away at a booth. It was hard to decide what to drink because there were so many creative cocktails. I ended up getting the Pickletini and it was delicious. Again, when ordering food, hard to decide and opted for a bunch of small plates to share. We got the scallops, tuna bites, tempura shrimp, crab bites and stuffed portabello. The food came out quickly, presentation was gorgeous and everything was cooked perfectly. I found the prices to be very reasonable and the quality of food similar to nice restaurants in a big city. I try to get out this way every year and gracious plates will be a mainstay every time. read more

My family and I ate lunch here the other day and we absolutely loved it! The Brussels appetizer special was fantastic, and we all devoured our entrées: my dad got the smoked trout sandwich and my grandmother and I each got the Downtowner. We shared a piece of cheesecake with bananas foster for dessert and were scraping every little bit we could get off the plate by the end; beyond delicious (my dad said that he'd only ever had bananas foster over ice cream and never would've thought to pair it with cheesecake but that it was an absolutely perfect combination).
