My husband and I stopped by for a cocktail and some apps before wrapping up our first day in Highlands. The staff were as friendly and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. You could tell they had a lot of regulars and it's a place the locals like the hang. We enjoyed the spring rolls the most. They had great flavor and the chili sauce they were served with complimented them well read more

Won't be going back. Wife and I sat down, she ordered wine, I asked about the mezcal in the $14 Smokey Cucumber Margarita. She mentioned it was Smokey, I said "Great, I'll have one". My wife ordered a chicken sandwich, "No onions", got onions, but didn't want to bother them. We got the check, she asked me if I had 2 margaritas? I laughed and said '"No, why?" They charged me $24.00 for my $14.00 house margarita and claimed I ordered their "Casa Amigos Mezcal" which I did not. They refused to adjust the bill. We refused to tip our dishonest waitress. We got this kind of crap when we lived in Park City, Utah, with the restaurants presuming we were tourists only in town for a few days so they could "cave your head in " on the tab. Shady, so shady. My wife and I have been coming here for decades, sadly, first time, last time at a restaurant this shady. read more

Not the greatest lunch experience unfortunately. We arrived and stood inside a bit not knowing we were to seat ourselves. The gentleman behind the bar eventually let us know to sit anywhere so we opted for one of the handful of outdoor tables, as the inside felt a tad gloomy. This male employee brought us some menus and was pleasant. Our female server was not as friendly, however. She took our order with minimal interaction and brought our lunch back quite fast. Upon her placing our food we each had a request...I asked if I could get lettuce for my sandwich and my daughter asked for some dipping sauce. The server was clearly annoyed by our requests and it made us feel pretty unwelcome honestly. We waited for the items long enough our food had started to get cold, so we ended up going ahead without. Eventually she did end up bringing the items and attempted to be slightly more cordial from then on, but truthfully we just felt out of place at that point and ready to move on. As far as the meal was concerned, the food was average, but at fair pricing. read more

This place had the BEST BURGER I have ever had. Whatever their special blend is for their patty, we thoroughly enjoyed it! Likewise, the chicken tenders were phenomenal. 6 tenders that were moist and juicy. The breading was light and flavorful. This would have been hands down a 5 star review of the service had been better. I got the soup of the day (cabbage, potato, and chorizo), and expected some spice - chorizo, duh. However what I got was a VERY spicy broth, and I couldn't eat it (there had been no mention of it being spicy). The waitress never stopped to check on our food, and when she cleared the plates and left the soup, I told her she could take the soup as well since it was too spicy for me. I said it politely (that's how I was raised). She just looked at me annoyed, said okay, and walked away. I was still charged the upcharge for the soup, which I can understand, but most places would offer fries at least (which came with the meal). We had been looking forward to trying dessert, but she seemed eager to see us go. Her attitude was a huge turn off, so I would get my order to go next time. read more

We love coming here for lunch! It's no frills, but the food is great and the wait staff is attentive. They have $11 smash burgers for lunch which is a great deal in Highlands! read more

Wow... what a great experience! We decided to check this restaurant out and it was wonderful. From the start, the service was EXCELLENT!! Hallie and Sam were the best! We started with some cocktails, which didn't disappoint. I had the cucumber refresher... delish! And then, the summertime mule. The strawberry basil syrup was a perfect twist! My husband tried the meatloaf and I had the 4118 burger. Both were cooked perfectly and a nice size portion. We both had to ask for to go boxes. What an amazing experience!! Highly recommend read more

The service was amazing, top notch, better than we had at Madison's the night before. My burger was the best I've had in a while. My cucumber drink however, had too much lime juice other than that it was a great experience. read more

Good food, OK service and OK selection, prices are OK not overwhelming but a nice little local place plenty of selections as to the food

Quaint and friendly atmosphere. Service was great, and our server was extremely helpful in making our food choice. The staff worked as a team so well. Spinach artichoke dip was delicious. My husband loves the turkey melt, but it was too smoky flavored for my liking. read more

We've always enjoyed visiting 4118 and today did not disappoint. Pics don't do it justice, the Griddled Chicken Sandwich was amazing. I was a little hesitant with the combination of pimento cheese, mushrooms, bacon & purple onion added to the grilled chicken but the flavors were amazing together. My husband had the Fish and Chips, he said it was some of the very best chips he's ever had. 4118 also has a good selection of wines! Enjoy! read more

A great place for a straight forward, all-American lunch, dinner of snack. Menu is simple with burgers, sandwiches, salads and some entrees. Shrimp and grits, roast chicken, fish & chips, chicken tenders, salads, egg rolls (!), roast pork, desserts. Prices $4 - 15 with highest price for 1/2 chicken $18. Very reasonable and the food is good. Covid has forced an on-line menu and ordering, but I think you can eat inside. We were here in the early days of Covid and Highlands was adjusting. Good spot, nice friendly people and reasonable prices and portions. Beer and I think wine is also served. read more

We arrived just a few minutes after they opened for lunch so getting a table was easy. Food took maybe 10 minutes to arrive. We ordered the Cornbread and Buttermilk Biscuits, Smash Burger, and the special of the day which was a heated sandwich with mushrooms, onions, cheese, and beef. Everything tasted good. Only downside was that it was somewhat difficult to get our server's attention for drinks/refills at times. read more

I rode up to Highlands with the family last weekend. It was their first weekend open since Covid shut everything down. The place was empty, but we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The waiter was funny and went above and beyond taking care of these out-of-towners. He found us a store that was open where we could buy playing cards. He called the owner of a local spa (at home) to see if they would be open the next day. He was pretty snappy with our orders too. I've never met a barbecue sandwich that I didn't like...well there was that one time in Crawfordville, but that's neither here nor there. Anyway, the Cheerwine bbq sandwich was delicious. It was a bit sweet for my tastes, but I prefer a more vinegar flavor anyway. If you like sweet bbq, this one is on point. The kids got the buttered pasta and burgers. The macaroni and cheese is really good. By the time we left, a few more folks had drifted in and everyone there was happy and outgoing. A little old local couple decided to make 4118 their first meal out after the shutdown was lifted. That tells me something right there. If you enjoy a cocktail with dinner, 4118 has a full bar and can make anything you want. The drinks were tasty and not overpowering, but not too weak either. We went right after the restaurants were allowed to reopen and there were a few hiccups, but overall, it was a great experience. read more

Amazing service at 4118. Had dinner with my husband and two kids. Wide variety to choose from and everything was excellent. One of my kid's entrees came out a little late (we didn't complain - it happens!) and they proactively took the meal off of our bill. It was completely unnecessary but an example of outstanding customer service. read more

Ate lunch there approximately a month ago, as with most places they were short staffed. Experience was very awkward and the food was marginal at best. I had reviewed right after visit but the owner didn't like my accurate review and harassed so I deleted now. Will leave out details and leave at 1 star. read more

Great food and staff. Be careful with takeout as they charge a 15% 'to go' fee. Not sure if it goes to the staff as a tip or just a fee for the restaurant read more

Had lunch today at 4118 Kitchen. Food was very good and service was attentive. My wife raved about her roasted cauliflower. I had the burger special and it was terrific. Food and service was excellent for lunch. Atmosphere isn't anything special but I'll sacrifice for it.

The burger was absolutely delicious, though I did order without onions. It was served with onions. The wine tasted like it has been open for a few days, I will give it another chance in the future. read more

Love this place as we were traveling, mostly locals here. Both of our meals were top notch. My Burger had the perfect balance of traditional taste with a mixture of spices that linger on the palate with and end note of Buffalo flavor. The Turkey club was perfect , the chef smokes the turkeys himself and you can really tell. The waitress was very pleasant and it was a great dinner overall. Highly recommend! read more

Came for lunch in a season where there's not a lot of options in town. Food was excellent. Friendly service. Interior And ambiance is basic. We ordered the green bean starter, chicken wings with buffalo sauce, and the Cuban sandwich. Everything was executed well and ingredients used made a difference in the flavor. Pork on the Cuban was tender, the dill pickles were flavorful, and the bread was perfect. I would recommend 4118 Kitchen for a great meal. read more

Good food and service. Off the beaten path but worth it. Get the shrimp poboy. Evrrliked their food

Stopped here on a recent weekend trip to the Highlands based on a recommendation from a friend. When we walked in there was a gentleman there who admonished us for not having on a mask telling us about the mask mandate. That's cool, I don't mind wearing a mask, but it's kind of hard eating while wearing a mask :) . My real issue was that no one had on a mask in the whole restaurant. He didn't, the servers didn't, and the bartender didn't. Now about the food and service: the menu was not the menu you see posted. It is scaled down, probably due to covid. My husband opted for the shrimp and grits. They were very good. I would give them a 4.5/5. I ordered the burger and fries. It was ok. Not the worst burger, but not the best. I would give it a 4/5. I would stop here again, but it probably won't be my first choice. read more

We had a wonderful experience at 4118! Our waitress, Sandy, was so bubbly and helpful. The food was amazing! We ate lunch and ordered from the "Smash" menu. I had the fish sandwich and my husband had the burger. The portions were perfect...not too big or too small. We will be back! read more

We are so sorry we went there for dinner We stood at the front door area for quite a while before anyone acknowledged us. We should have left then. Bummer I ate scallops. We are not sure how they are even in business still.... read more

4118 is an absolutely amazing restaurant! We ate lunch there the day we arrived in Highlands. Everything here is prepared in house or sourced locally. We had the house made bison sausage on the pretzel roll, which was locally made, and it was amazing! The sausage has such a great, savory flavor, the pretzel roll was exactly like a good homemade pretzel. We also had the beet salad with blue cheese which was the perfect combination of cheese with beets and the dressing was superb. To top it off the micro greens gave the salad a bit of zest and complimented the beets nicely. We enjoyed lunch so much that we came back for dinner the next evening. The wild mushroom ravioli with the duck confit was prepared perfectly with the duck complimenting the mushrooms nicely. The duck breast with the freeze dried cranberries was cooked to perfection and so tender and flavorful. This is a hidden gem in Highlands. There are few restaurants of this quality in this area so I highly recommend that you try 4118. read more

Stopped in for mid week happy hour, wasn't disappointed. Place was filled with happy patrons of all ages. We had dinner plans so we didn't look at the menu but everything that came out for others looked top notch. I was a little thrown off by the location, I've never really been a fan of strip mall establishments but once you walk through the doors, you'll be happy to see a dim lit, upgraded ale house, for lack of better words. They were serving cheese boards and fancy cocktails, few steps above your local strip mall pub. read more

Food was marginal. Premade cafeteria grade burger. Chicken was the same. Zero safety measures. They barely made an effort at faking adherence. Drinks were just ok as well. The wait staff is very friendly and gave wonderful service. The food was good and the atmosphere is pleasant. But...the restroom was filthy. It smelled awful, the vent fan didn't appear to work and it was covered in dust. The walls and floors were all dirty. If the bathrooms are like that what is the kitchen like? As I looked around the restaurant I noticed all the baseboards were dirty throughout and the spider webs that hung in the corners were covered in dust, they had obviously been around a very long time. Hope this winter during off season 4118 will hire a good cleaning service and a good painter and spruce the place up. And hire someone to clean regularly. read more
