    Lemon Meringue Pie

The hostess was not rude but not kind. Our server was very kind and prompt. We had the trout dip, which was mostly trout, not too much mayo! We shared the fish and chips, which was huge even with sharing. We finished with the lemon meringue pie, which was my favorite bite! The ambience is great for a brisk fall day. Can't beat the patio vibes.

Cute place, but starting off, they sat out part of five at a four person table leaving one guests sat on a corner. After 30 minutes, we finally received drinks that we could tell had been sitting out and had watered down. At the one hour mark, we received our food, which was just mediocre. Overall, disappointed.

Everything was over the top! We just arrived in Highlands and decided to have a quick charcuterie board with cocktails before dinner. The charcuterie board was plentiful with 4 cheeses, marinated onions, pickles, 4 meats, including smoked trout... pita breads were fresh and grilled. We could see the waterfall by our table and our waitress was kind and informative! Nice experience!

Good food and wonderful atmosphere. We had a corner table in this beautiful garden next to the little bridge. What we ate: - Seared duck was good and flavorful. It could have benefited from having fat rendered more. - ThickBurger was also good; a bit soggy and burger fell apart at the end - Caesar salad was tasty...properly served with great crouton toast and anchovies - Bread pudding was good - Panna cotta dessert was beautiful..unfortunately, looked better than it tasted. It didn't have the creaminess texture and hold up like traditional panna cotta. Tasted more like fruit fluff. Service was spectacular - from the hostess to waitress to the various staff who brought food and cleared our table. Good place to enjoy dinner in a beautiful setting. Food was good not great.

We took a short drive from Atlanta and made a stop at this lovely establishment for some post-lunch drinks. The outdoor seating area, surrounded by a beautiful garden, instantly appealed to us. Our host greeted us with a warm smile, and our server Steijin provided exceptional service, making us feel genuinely welcomed, which was especially important to me as an immigrant. I enjoyed the refreshing Pink Orchid cocktail. We also tried flavorful Pimento Cheese and crackers. Later, I also had espresso. I loved my drink. Coffee was nice as well. I was so impressed with the overall experience, the inviting atmosphere, and our server hospitality that I'm already looking forward to a future visit. This place offers so much to explore and try out that I would love to stay overnight to fully try everything this place have to offer.

This is a nice little spot nestled in the Highlands, attached to the Old Edwards Inn property. Oddly, I must have missed this place the last time I came to Old Edwards Inn back in 2015. You'll find parking along the street and will probably have to do a short walk to get here. There isn't a ton of tables (maybe 10-15 max) so I'd suggest doing a reservation. It's all outside with a garden atmosphere. It felt to me like we were sitting on an upscale dock. I admit I wasn't hungry when I came here so I didn't really order much. However, I did do their version of apple cobbler and a hot chocolate. My friends all ordered salads and the butternut squash soup (which looked amazing!). Highly recommend the soup, based off presentation and everyone saying great things about it. The apple cobbler was very unique. It came out in a small white baking dish and had a massive apple aroma around it. I've never had anything like it. Part of me wished it were more moist but the other part loved the spiced breading. Try not to imagine what you think apple cobbler normally is when you take a bite, and you'll love it. The apples are baked inside, and there is much more breading than normal, so you really don't get a lot of juicy apple. But it works! And the aroma worked so well that most of my table ordered it after seeing mine. Based off just the apple cobbler, I look forward to coming back here again in the future and trying one of their entrees!

The staff is most pleasant. Our waitress " Mabula" I hope I spelled it correctly. She has to be the best I have ever encountered. The food was delicious, fresh and nicely presented. This is not our first time here and will not be the last.

10/10 for afternoon drinks. Absolutely beautiful flowers and waterfall. Good and fast service as well!

The goods: beautiful scenery, especially on a crisp fall afternoon. I felt the selection of drinks and foods were great and had just a little of everything. The displays were beautiful and tasty. The bad: I was surprised to find the service lacking. The hostess was very friendly and helpful, however the bartender was very rude. My friend and I just wanted to grab a drink at the bar as we waited for our table, and she was very impatient with us. She immediately wanted our order upon sitting down, without even looking at a menu. We went ahead and ordered a drink and appetizer because we were told it would be a 30 minute wait, however, our seat was available within a few minutes. The bartender was very unclear on whether we needed to close out with her or with the waitress. She made it sound like we had to close with the waitress so we grabbed our drinks to follow the hostess, but then she yelled at us for not paying and staying at the bar. She also told us we wouldn't receive the appetizer at our table, but still had to pay for it. Our waitress was kind and made sure we got our appetizer, but the whole ordeal was VERY strange and unsettling, especially for an establishment with such a high reputation. I'd skip this spot and try another restaurant in town.

WOW this place was incredible. We ate outside here one of the first days after quarantine. I got the ribeye with Potatoes, Shallots, and Creamed Broccoli. So delicious. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. I was wondering why they hadn't given me a steak knife, but I didn't even need one! The coca-cola cake was delicious and moist too served with House-made Malted Chocolate Ice Cream. There was a great wine selection obviously and many yummy cocktails.

Beautiful outdoor dining in Highlands NC in connection with Old Edward's Inn. A dear friend of mine from college met me there for lunch. It was a gorgeous setting with patio outdoor tables with umbrellas on different levels of decks. We both had a glass of wine to accompany our mountain trout with an array of peas and vegetables. My friend enjoyed a dessert of pecan pie a la mode. Their food was delicious, but very small portions of trout compared with the price of the entrees, hence the four stars. The main focus was on visiting and catching up with a college friend and our lives. We spent three hours enjoying our wine, food, and visiting. The gorgeous outside setting is definitely worth a visit to The Vine. Also, our server was excellent which made our dining even more special.

The restaurant is located on the main street that runs through the town making it easy to find. Be sure to make a reservation as it fills up quickly. The staff we encountered during both visits were friendly and professional. The food was exceptional each visit. The eggplant parmigiana starter was tender and so flavorful. Three of the four of us ordered it on the second visit as it was that good. The beef carpaccio and meatball starter were also enjoyed. For entrees we had the trout Frances, stuffed halibut special, the gnocchi special, the mushroom tortellini and the linguine pescatore. All dishes were delcious while the trout Frances, mushroom tortellini and linguine pescatore were our favorites. It is worth mentioning their gnocchi could not have been better prepared as it was like a fluffy pillow as gnocchi should be. Had it been paired with the truffle sauce from the mushroom tortellini then it would have been perfection. For dessert, we sampled several ice creams, sorbets, the tiramisu and the Blueberry Coconut Layered cake. The raspberry sorbet and cappuccino Oreo gelato were the fan favorites for the dessert course. Ristorante Paoletti receives our highest recommendation as it is on point with offering a positive atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food.

Everything about the restaurant was so special, amazing location for a sunset dinner, perched high above the Blue Ridge Mountains - amazing views. The best thing is if you stay at the Skyline Lodge, it's just steps away from your room and that comes in super handy when it's brunch time! We were fortunate enough to enjoy these two meals; dinner & brunch with our kids (who are foodies too) and they are now huge fans of Oak Steakhouse. They said it was the best steak they ever had, you can't go wrong with the Filet! The menu is not huge but really has all of the dishes you would want for an amazing dinner. Plenty of options, even if you don't eat steak. Amazing sides to accompany each dish and you must start with the bread, which is made in-house. I went with a dish I have not tried before and it did not disappoint, Venison Wellington while my wife tried the trout. I will let the photos do the talking. They also pour an amazing espresso martini by the way and to finish you have to try the chocolate cake, trust me! We also want to give a shot out to all of the staff and servers; their attention to detail and overall service was outstanding! Seems to be the case at all Indigo Road establishments, they really know hospitality. We cannot recommend Oak Steakhouse enough, even if you're not staying there but in the Highlands of NC make sure you give them a visit.

Our server was very friendly and (unprompted) comped our bread service after a lengthy delay. Once received, the bread was amazing and went nicely with my lettuce wedge salad. The entrees were excellent as well, with my wife loving her risotto and my steak frites being top notch with fork-tender beef and amazing truffle fries. The portions are generous so to-go bags are a common sight. Oak is not inexpensive, but clearly the value is there if you are looking for a proper steakhouse experience near Highlands.
