Lamb skewer and martini

Phenomenal food and even better service. The tapas were perfect portions, packed full of flavor and the drinks delicious. As soon as we sat down at the bar we felt like family. Nick was the perfect combination of fun, friendly and professional - especially his knowledge of the whole menu. We had an absolute blast for dinner and can't wait to go back

Patatas Bravas

A nice play to bring a group of people looking for tapas-style food, The Stubborn Bull serves up Spanish-style dishes. Service was very attentive and quick throughout our meal and very accommodating for the patio area (we had a dog with us). We didn't get any of the entrees and went full tapas for our dinner. The Pan con tomate was delicious and the bread was perfectly toasted. Soft yet still had a bite. The cured jamon and cheese on top was a nice touch too. The patatas bravas were excellent. The potatoes were soft and crispy plus the sauce was addicting. The calamari was fairly standard all things considered. And the crispy brussel sprouts were amazing too. The balsamic reduction glaze that they brush on really compliments and adds such a perfect sweetness to a savory bite. The bacon was tasty but texturally they were a bit tough. If they were crispy then this would have been a perfect dish.

They are very strict about missing your reservation and charge $25 per person. Yet they don't bother to let people know they are CLOSED. SO THEY OWE ME $50. What a joke.... How hard is it to update you hours of operation. Got dressed and made reservations to take my wife out for a nice dinner only to show up to a dark building;

Second time visiting this place. They changed their name from the Stubborn seed to the stubborn bull but I'll say the quality of what they do did not change one iota, they only got better. We had an amazing visit and our server and their entire staff wants to show off their abilities and wares. The food is meant as shareable plates (Tapas style) and this visit we had one of the best items we have ever eaten. Their big bang pork belly is to die for. The flavor, cook, and presentation was phenomenal. Had their shrimp, octopus, potatoes plates and couldnt have been more happy with our meal. If you are here in highlands this is a must stop for food. So thankful they are here and glad for the supreme quality of food they produce.

Wild caught salmon and forbidden rice.

Delicious! We are doing our best to try new places when staying in Cashiers. This is a great dining option for Highlands. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the forbidden rice was delicious. My husband had the Korean Chicken and it was so full of flavor. One thing we may ask next time is going a little lighter on the sauce but seriously it was soooo good!

Bread board and beet salad!

When you are in highlands make sure you eat here. The food was delicious as well as the service! To start we had complimentary cava as we were celebrating our anniversary. Followed by a chocolate martini and margarita. Then we had the bread board with the watermelon salad and the beet salad followed by the scallops and oyster rockafellow. Then we split the Oscar filet. Our server Caleb was great! I forgot to take a pic of the filet but here are the others

Good was amazing!!! The atmosphere is great and the servers/bartenders are on point. I don't know what i would recommend more, the seafoods paella or the elk. We also had the kale salad, scallops, and oysters.

Mushroom Ravioli and Garlic Shrimp

I have no joke been craving mushroom ravioli, and it's surprisingly difficult to find. This newly opened restaurant in Highlands is fantastic. Tastefully decorated. Great variety on the menu. Enjoyed porcini mushroom ravioli with truffle infused olive oil. OMG. Garlic shrimp that were fresh and plump. A toffee chocolate mousse dessert (little too sweet for me). And a freshly opened Malbec. Service was top notch with Cody & Manny to boot!

It's such a beautiful and peaceful space to dine, especially with the amazing Spring and Fall temps they get there. We were with a party of 6 (plus a baby), and walked up without a reservation a bit late in the evening. We figured we'd try it and see if we could get in if it wasn't too late, and luckily enough, the hostess was kind enough to make it happen for us! The menu actually has a lot of variety for a wine garden - drinks and food wise. I started with the French onion soup and it was delicious. The Caesar salad was also quite yummy, but the meatloaf was the showstopper of the night! I am still dreaming of it now, and wish I could replicate it myself because it was that good and memorable! For dessert, I ordered the affogato which is their house made vanilla bean ice cream with an espresso shot and it was the perfect ending to the night! Our server was so attentive and kind, and constantly checked in on us and cleared our plates since the tables are a bit on the smaller side. I had an excellent experience all around!

The restaurant is located on the main street that runs through the town making it easy to find. Be sure to make a reservation as it fills up quickly. The staff we encountered during both visits were friendly and professional. The food was exceptional each visit. The eggplant parmigiana starter was tender and so flavorful. Three of the four of us ordered it on the second visit as it was that good. The beef carpaccio and meatball starter were also enjoyed. For entrees we had the trout Frances, stuffed halibut special, the gnocchi special, the mushroom tortellini and the linguine pescatore. All dishes were delcious while the trout Frances, mushroom tortellini and linguine pescatore were our favorites. It is worth mentioning their gnocchi could not have been better prepared as it was like a fluffy pillow as gnocchi should be. Had it been paired with the truffle sauce from the mushroom tortellini then it would have been perfection. For dessert, we sampled several ice creams, sorbets, the tiramisu and the Blueberry Coconut Layered cake. The raspberry sorbet and cappuccino Oreo gelato were the fan favorites for the dessert course. Ristorante Paoletti receives our highest recommendation as it is on point with offering a positive atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food.

Everything about the restaurant was so special, amazing location for a sunset dinner, perched high above the Blue Ridge Mountains - amazing views. The best thing is if you stay at the Skyline Lodge, it's just steps away from your room and that comes in super handy when it's brunch time! We were fortunate enough to enjoy these two meals; dinner & brunch with our kids (who are foodies too) and they are now huge fans of Oak Steakhouse. They said it was the best steak they ever had, you can't go wrong with the Filet! The menu is not huge but really has all of the dishes you would want for an amazing dinner. Plenty of options, even if you don't eat steak. Amazing sides to accompany each dish and you must start with the bread, which is made in-house. I went with a dish I have not tried before and it did not disappoint, Venison Wellington while my wife tried the trout. I will let the photos do the talking. They also pour an amazing espresso martini by the way and to finish you have to try the chocolate cake, trust me! We also want to give a shot out to all of the staff and servers; their attention to detail and overall service was outstanding! Seems to be the case at all Indigo Road establishments, they really know hospitality. We cannot recommend Oak Steakhouse enough, even if you're not staying there but in the Highlands of NC make sure you give them a visit.

Our server was very friendly and (unprompted) comped our bread service after a lengthy delay. Once received, the bread was amazing and went nicely with my lettuce wedge salad. The entrees were excellent as well, with my wife loving her risotto and my steak frites being top notch with fork-tender beef and amazing truffle fries. The portions are generous so to-go bags are a common sight. Oak is not inexpensive, but clearly the value is there if you are looking for a proper steakhouse experience near Highlands.

I love Spanish food and tapas. Curate delivers like no other place I have been. I love the open kitchen - it's awesome to see them prepare the delicious food! Ask for kitchen seating for an extra treat! One of the advantages of the smaller plates is they allow you to sample from a wide range of delights! We always get the boquerones - I love the way they prepare the fresh anchovies! We also had a cheese plate, with a selection of dry, ripe, and blue Spanish cheeses - all of which were excellent and presented with very complimentary sides - the pear and apricot compote with the blue cheese was a personal favorite! We also had the patatas bravas (fried potatoes), lamb skewers, oysters, grilled shrimp, and stuffed piquillo peppers. EVERYTHING was a delight. The wine list is also exceptional. I had a delicious albarino, and a txacolina rose that was outstanding. We finished with the Tarta de Queso - which was delicious. Tangy, and lightly sweet. A perfect end to a great meal!
