Let me start by saying the food was delicious, well prepared, appetizingly plated with nice portions. I ordered the pasta with 50/50 sauce and added grilled salmon. It was yummy. My hubby ordered the shrimp and grits - it's a different take on the dish than most "shrimp and grits" and it was outstanding. There is limited outside seating so we were glad to get a table. Inside seating seemed sterile and was quite loud. I am glad our meal and table were great because the service was not. The restaurant appeared normally busy and we saw the other servers regularly checking in on their customers. Our server, Brianna, greeted us with an attitude and it continued for the entirety of the meal. She never checked in to see if we needed anything. Once when we were able to get her attention and asked for more water, she literally looked at our water bottle, saw it was about 1/4 full, rolled her eyes and told us she would get us more when she got a chance. When she did bring a new water bottle, she placed it on our table with the same attitude she arrived with and never spoke a word. Her attitude only improved when she appeared with her electronic device happily announcing our bill. We had to ask to see the ticket - we always check to make sure everything is accounted for. She seemed annoyed but complied. We would definitely eat here again because the food was that good. We would not stay though if our only server option was Brianna. read more

Food was ok. Wife's steak was rare and that's exactly the way it can. I ordered mine medium and was medium well but ate. Both needed a slight amount of extra salt. Potato and leak soup was the highlight of the meal. Really good. Waitress could have been maybe more friendly but wasn't rude just acted like she had other things to do. read more

We had the Asian wraps, rib eye and filet. Everything was delicious! The garlic aioli on the fries were to die for! The service was excellent. Would come back here again! read more

The food was fantastic. We shared 3 small plates and each was wonderful. Scallops, seared tuna, & bree cheese with raspberry jam. We kind of got lost in the shuffle when we were seated. Once she was assigned to our table Emily came over and was very helpful with recommendations and took great care of us on a busy night. What a gem in a small town! read more

What a wonderful place! The outside seating is great for beautiful views but inside seating is also very nice. Everything is clean and feels high end but it's also casual. We stopped here on our way home and our waitress was super sweet. I asked her to surprise me-which I know most waitresses aren't a fan of- but I have never been disappointed yet. I got the meatloaf and it was phenomenal! It was a lot of food though. If I didn't live so far it would be great for leftovers but I don't think it will survive the 7 hour drive to get home. read more

A great place to eat and entertain friends for dinner. This is our go to place when we have friends or family visiting us here in Franklin. The farm to table menu has plenty of variety and my wife and I like to get several of the small plates and share. There are still plenty of standard sized meals to choose from. Our repeat guests are now generally getting the small plates for sharing also. Wait staff is always great and the restaurant is located in the quaint historic district of Franklin. They do take reservations. Their Sunday brunch is very good also! read more

Wonderful place to sit and people watch. Food was amazing but pricey with just coffee. It was worth every penny, but couldn't be an every weekend thing. Coffee was great and served in an amazing way. The food was a...mazing!!! Our waitress was hard to find for refills and our bill. Will return on next trip. read more

I wish I could give 3.5 stars. We were in town for the day, chose Gracious Plates for lunch based on the strong reviews. Everything was just okay: the food, the service, the ambiance. I ordered the wine tasting flight: 2 of the 4 wines had been open too long, needed to be replaced. Wouldn't go out of way to return. read more

Great location, great food, reasonably priced. We had the crab fritters, grits cake, turkey sandwich, and fries. Everything tasted flavorful and delicious. The restaurant was short handed when we visited. It took a while to get seated and quite a while to get our meals. However, the server was very pleasant despite the staffing setback. In addition, despite being short handed, the restaurant was clean. read more

Great service and good. We enjoy Gracious Plates on Main every time we are in Franklin.

We split our time between Franklin, NC and South Florida, and every time we have friends or family visiting, this is one of our go-to lunch spots. Everyone we bring always loves their meal. They have great vegetarian options, and the cocktails are always on point. Gracious Plates on Main is open seven days a week (hours vary, so definitely check online), and they're consistently open for lunch--which is such a plus in Franklin. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it never feels dark or cramped. The décor is adorable and gives off that "craft-cocktail meets farm-to-table" vibe that just feels good the moment you walk in. We'll keep coming back, and we'll definitely keep bringing our out-of-town guests with us read more

I ate there this past weekend with a group of 14 after hiking to see the dam release at the High Falls trail. Caitlyn (I believe that was her name if I recall correctly) was our server, and she was exceptional. Everything was on point- from keeping our water glasses full to taking our orders and have everything come out pretty quickly. It's not easy handling the requests of 14 individuals, but she managed to pull it off seamlessly. As for the food, everyone enjoyed what they had. I had the burger, and it was pretty good! I would definitely go back next time I'm in that area. Thank you, Caitlyn, for leaving us with yet another memorable experience from our trip. read more

Service is really good. And the food I love all the small plates, which gives me the option to have different taste and sharing. Highly recommend this place. read more

I rarely write reviews on here but this one deserves it! We got the tempura fried shrimp and mushroom dumplings. Delicious! I'll also recommend the strawberry mojito. Service was amazing too! read more

This is a great place for dinner in Franklin! The food is fresh, varied, and well prepared. We've always had great service. It's great to sit outside, sip, eat, and watch the traffic on Main Street. The only thing we didn't like was the steak; it was prepared sous vide, which we didn't care for. Everything else has been great! read more

The food, service , ambience is all top drawer. We're always happy to return to enjoy more.

Good food. Mushrooms as an appetizer was great! Pastas and steak are very good!! Great service!

Plenty of tables open when we arrived and was turned away. Food is overpriced anyways! No ambiance at all. Not for me... maybe you might like it tho. read more

As for the food it was outstanding. We had the Sunday brunch. The meal was well worth the price! We went there after church on Sunday ( March 22nd it was our 51st wedding anniversary). This place is a very unexpected when you enter in. It is very unique, quaint, and pretty. I suppose I didn't expect it looking at the outside. I thought it looked more like the typical restaurant from the outside with the black signage but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The food was good for the most part. I liked the appetizer the most which we had the crab fritters and my son boasted how he loved his fried Shrimp. The service was wonderful. Caitlyn was attentive and provided several recommendations. The manager did stop by or I think it was the manager but she seemed like she was in a rush but did ask us, the food is good right? And, I did respond it was delicious which it was. Anyway, cute place to see. read more

Best meal in Franklin, Many visits and not once thought it to be anything but exemplary.

Having been to Gracious Plates from their soft opening to after they've been open for several months, I can say I am not too fond of their food options. From their chilled quirky glass bottle of self serve water, to the shot glass of thick sweetener to sweeten your ice tea to your liking, this restaurant is a favorite for some and attempting to be bit too "ritzy" for others. They do have breakfast and lunch, I can't speak for their dinners because we haven't been there for their dinner service. This little dive prefers that you have a reservation but walk-ins are welcome, though I feel we were seated differently, the four times we have been there, in a less impressive side of the restaurant and even felt a little rushed by the male that met us at the entrance once we answered his question of whether we had a reservation or not. From what I HAVE had, the food also seemed dry, sometimes cold from waiting too long under what I assume is a heat lamp, and the wait staff seems to be in a hurry to the point we have been forgotten on several occasions when requesting a replacement of a side or waiting on a refill of drink. It's a bit pricey for what we get and I can't help but feel as though they are trying to pass themselves off as ritzy or "west coast" via their menu options, meal titles, portions and prices. After at least 4 times of giving this restaurant a whirl, we have given up on going there. Some locals do seem to like going here, but don't let my review stop you from trying them out. They just aren't our cup o tea. read more

Stopped by on our way to Asheville. We were greeted by a sweet lady standing in the front and she even recommended some great dishes. The food was good, but the service not so much. We ordered 9 dishes and only 6 came out. We reminded our server about the missing dishes TWICE and only 2 out of 3 came out. The last missing dish came out after we were done with everything. Rather than acknowledging the error, Brianna blamed that us ordering 2 different salads confused the order. I get that things can happen but we were one of only 3 tables in the whole restaurant. Once again, food was good but patrons should make sure they get the dishes they ordered. read more

Loved it! Food was great and so was the service. I will be returning and bring more friends.

Another great experience at Gracious Plates on Main!!! In the fall we enjoyed appetizers on the patio with great drinks and excellent service, came back over the holidays and were able to enjoy weekend brunch!!! You owe yourself a trip to enjoy the Gouda grit cake!!! I also sometimes judge a brunch place by how often my coffee is refilled, the staff kept me in good supply! Can't wait to go back!! read more
