We had family in town on Memorial Day weekend and were looking for a place that was open. It was our first visit and we were not disappointed. Beautifully decorated with colorful paintings and sculpture type wall hangings that were very interesting. Bright and airy with tables and booths, kinda causal elegant. Our waitress was Megan and she was really cool. She was funny and took very good care of us. Mondays special is $10 hamburgers so 3 of us ordered the Cowboy Burger which came with homemade wavy fries. The burgers were huge and very good. (I couldn't finish mine!). It was cooked exactly as I ordered and came with cheddar cheese, thick sliced bacon, and house made onion fries. Yum, great burger. Went for Easter Sunday dinner with a friend. The server didn't come, but sent the hostess to bring water. Once the server came, we ordered appetizers, then he wanted to know what we wanted for our entree. We said we wanted to wait, as we all hate when we are eating our appetizers, and the main course comes. 3 times he came and asked us if we were ready to order. Umm. No, there are still appetizers, and yes, we told him we'd order when we were through with our appetizers. Finished the appetizers, had to ask the waiter for water 2x. Ordered main dish, our friend ordered the special which was on a chalk board when you walk in. About 5 minutes later the waiter says we're out of the special. She asked to see the menu. He didn't offer it. Our dinner came out about 2 minutes later, and she had to wait another 8-10 for her dinner. If you knew you were out of the special - wouldn't you hold the rest of the tables order so everyone could be served together? Once we all had our main course, as did our friend had to ask for steak sauce twice. Didn't see the waiter again. The hostess came by once. Once dinner was completed, the waiter brought the check and let the dirty plates on the table. The hostess came by and asked how the food was. And said "I'll get your server to clean up these dishes". Never did. Once we said No thanks for dessert - he was gone. At first we thought It's Easter Sunday - they're busy. Nope, only 3 tables full. And as we left, we noticed the special was STILL on the chalkboard. If you're out - cross it off, or erase it. Not a difficult step. The food itself was "good" but not excellent. We were told ahead of time that dinner here would be "hit or miss". Well, I guess we got the 'miss' tonight. Ordered the prime rib ( house specialty) and my wife got the ribeye. It took over an hour to bring our food. Once it came the steak was very tough and so was the prime rib. Our server did the best she could but she was not familiar with many of the items on the menu. We were pleasantly surprised the our meal at Riverwalk Grill! Our waitress was so kind and helpful. The rolls with homemade cinnamon butter were to die for! We could have eaten six each! The French onion soup was alright, not my favorite thing but the melted cheese on top was delicious. My partner was a not a huge fan of the BBQ pork stuffed potato- he felt like there was not enough BBQ sauce and flavor. The s'mores lava cake was not good; it was not a traditional lava cake and pretty disappointing. The "spice cake" was dry and we were not even sure what the lava center was. It would be SO much better as a traditional chocolate cake with a fudge filling. After talking to our waitress, it sounds like many customers feel the same about it. read more

Went to dine on a Saturday night a few months ago. It was 7:00 pm and hours stated open to 9:00 pm. Was told by the hostess they were closed because they were not busy enough to be open. Have not been back. Not a good way to treat local customers that businesses need during the off season from tourists. Don't let a few low-starred reviews keep you from trying this place! It's still pretty new to Franklin and the fact that it's open seven days a week already makes it a gem (which, if you know Franklin, is rare!). I recently learned it's the sister restaurant to Gracious Plates on Main, and if you love the quality, creativity, and attention to detail that they're known for, you'll definitely appreciate this spot too. The menu has a great variety, and everything we tried was delicious. I ordered the pork chop and it was seriously so good- perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and the sides were just as tasty. My husband and our friends got the loaded Spuds and those were a big hit as well. Our server was really sweet and checked on us often, and the décor was such a pleasant surprise-cute, inviting, and not at all what I expected for a strip mall restaurant. We came during an in-between time (not quite lunch, not quite dinner), so the restaurant was pretty quiet with just a few other tables. Sunday, August 10, 2025 Our escape from Tampa's 94° high temperatures found us enjoying the Smoky Mountains with their wonderful climate, residents and absence of traffic jams. We saw the Riverwalk Cafe was open so we thought we would give it a try for Sunday dinner. The restaurant was clean, the employees friendly, the prices reasonable and the food was delicious. I've been for burgers before which were phenomenal, this time I opted for the wedge salad and the blue cheese dressing made in house. The blue cheese dressing was the best I've ever had and has ruined me for any other salad dressing!!! Also - just look at this steak!!! Great atmosphere, great for a date night or a family meal!! I tried the $10 burger Monday special yesterday and was very disappointed with service and food. After being seated and some water dropped off. It was a long time before anyone came to take our order. The burger, I finally was able to order was undercooked and not what I considered a medium burger. I do not send food back at restaurants. I tried to eat as much of this burger as I could. I even asked for some mustard, but the server never brought any. I've seen some other reviews that were positive for this restaurant so obviously there is some problem with consistency on the food. Great food and great service! Adrienne, our server, was super! She gave us great suggestions from the menu. My husband got the chili and grilled chicken salad. I got the cowboy burger. Best burger I've had in a while. The rolls and sweet butter we got as we sat down were so yummy. After doing a google search for restaurants along our gps map route home, I'm so glad we chose Riverwalk Grille, as we were passing through. The entire staff was very welcoming. Tori-the hostess and server Christa, and the food were absolutely amazing!. Fancy water bottles, great napkins, and the $12-$14 8oz burgers were literally the best I've ever had! Met a good friend at Riverwalk Grille today for lunch. She recommended it and I had never been there before. The service was very good and the food was excellent. I had the fish sandwich, slaw and fries and she had a bacon cheese burger with fries. Our food came out fresh and exactly the way we ordered it. Prices were not bad. The atmosphere is very nice. Lovely artwork on the walls and everything was very clean. It is easy to get in and out of the parking lot and they are open 7 days a week. This was my first time there but it won't be the last. Service was great & the place looks cute with the reno after Sakura. The food, we got the prime rib French dip & it just wasn't good. It came without au jus & when I asked for it was just a pool of grease. Hubby got the potato soup & there was no soup about it. It was served in a bread bowl with a fork. We didn't eat all of our meals, and took the rest to our dogs. :( I know they are new, so I will try again in a few months & hope for a better experience. read more

Had lunch one day and ordered the bacon cheeseburger with a Coke. While eating the burger, I pulled a long black hair out of the meat! It was cooked in the meat! And the burger was not done in the middle. The waiter took my plate away and offered to bring something else. So I had a cup of potato soup. The soup was excellent. The hostess came and said I would not be charged for the meal, but then brought me a bill for the Coke! Unbelievable! The service was spotty at best. Went to Riverwalk one afternoon last week. We were greeted and allowed to pick our seats. We did have some appetizers that were tasty. I had a beer (nothing's on tap which for a place that lists beer as an item on their signage) and my wife had a slight pour of wine. Our main entree were burgers. My wife's choice was a stuffed variety. I'm it sure their definition of stuffed is, but something spread on the burger isn't what I call stuffed. My classic was cooked to exactly how I wanted it. However, it was, as were the fries, overly salty. I asked the waiter if it was maybe the chef on duty or is it always salty. He didn't know, but said he'd ask. I never did get an answer. I left about 3/4 of the fries. The decor is very nice and the transformation from the old Sakura was fantastic. I hope these issues will be worked out. We have had wings in every Franklin NC establishments from food trucks to restaurants. Riverwalk Grill by far blows every one away. They started .99 cent wings on Wednesdays. After eating our first wing; my wife and I looked at each other and be both said WOW! Get here on Wednesdays for the best wings in town. read more

Visited the restaurant last week. I sat at the bar and ordered a few appetizers. I absolutely love french onion soup and their soup was perfect, melty onions, savory broth and super cheesy. Crabcakes were yummy, perfect mix of crab and filler. I'm from the chesapeake bay and was impressed by the crabcakes. Remoulade sauce on the side has a nice kick! Crab dip was good, not great, but they said they are changing recipe and adding old bay which makes all the difference. Beer battered fish sandwich I ordered on a 2nd visit was one of the best I've had. Perfectly fluffy and crispy and cooked perfectly. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We have been here four times now. Food was great two out of the four visits. For me, I ordered the baby back ribs and the first time I had them they were so good, that I ordered them a few days later when we returned with another few friends. That time they were very fatty and too salty. My husband had a burger at one visit that was so salty he could barely eat it. We liked it so much the other times we went but the last few times ruined it for us and those we brought complained of their dishes being too salty as well. read more

What a disappointment!!!!!!!!! Went there a few weeks after they first opened and was treated to a really bad experience, but even though I thought that I would be in a nursing home by the time the food arrived, the appetizer was never served, no apology was offered, I found it still on my bill, food that was cold and had to be sent back, they were new......things happen, right? Now, flash forward a number of months and, LET'S GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE!! Made a 7:00 reservation and arrived right on time and were seated immediately... back in the bar area, but that's ok. We were then told, " we are short staffed tonight, so your order may take a little longer than usual." Really? Saturday night at 7:00 and you are telling me this? Ordered a couple of glasses of wine and, so far, no problem. My wife ordered the pork chop and I decided on the baby rack ribs. About 15 minutes later the server returned with, "I'm sorry, but we are out of the ribs and, oh, we are also also out of the steak, what would you like instead?" Well at that point, I guess that I will just have the shame thing that she is having, the pork chop, which I really, didn't want, but it will do. They brought some rolls, but no bread plate to put them on, so we used our napkins. We would have asked the server for some plates, but we never saw her again until it was time to push another glass of wine on us and by then, the rolls were gone. Sooooo, at 7:55 the pork chops, FINALLY arrive, 55 minutes later, brought not by the server, whom we still hadn't seen again, but a "food deliverer." Sam, the food deliverer, said, " is there anything else?" Well, Sam, we never got the salads that we ordered 50 minutes ago. "Well, what kind of dressing would you like on that?" Well I ordered an 8oz. Sirloin steak with a baked potatoes that I asked shredded cheese to be added so it would melt. I told the waitress I didnt need butter but if she could bring me extra sour cream. I had to keep ask7ng for her stuff the whole time because she would forget. I asked for my steak to be medium well which means only a little pink on the inside. The only part that was brown was the outside. It was very red on the inside. I dont like to send food back but did. This time it was cooked very well done and was so tough I couldn't even eat it. I thought we'll I'll take it to my Blue Heeler but I didnt want him to get choked either! So they brought the tickets out and I got up and went to speak to the manager. I said, "my steak was raw so I sent it back and now its so tough I can't even eat it. I said, "Im not paying for this. Your service is subpar and so is your food and I will not be back. She didnt make me pay and gave me a $20 gift card. I will NOT go back there so I gave m6 gift card to one of my friends! I dont know how they are going to be able to stay open.
