    These were fabulous

I think we came on an off night bc our food just wasn't great and some of the items didn't even look like they do in others pictures. Pros: service was excellent, atmosphere was great, onion straws and the sauce that came with them were delicious! The sangria and cold beer were great! Cons: the bang bang shrimp (see pic, you can tell) were soooo overcooked as was my husband's chicken in his pasta which he said wasn't good at all. The chips and 'fondu' was not good, and the French onion soup was just bad.

We were seated immediately upon walking in, so I didn't get a ton of photos of the inside. We sat outside, and there was a ton of seating out there. Obviously, where most people are requesting and the huge hearth fireplace located out there is probably a major reason why as it helps create a homey ambiance. They have large heaters in the ceiling as well for those cold nights. We just had burgers and fish, and both were delicious. The burger was perfectly seasoned, and the fries were crisp. Husband had the cod dinner. Portions were large, and they have a pretty good variety . They do have beer, wine, and cocktails as well. Overall, I would go back and try something else on the menu.

Absolutely loved this place! It was so beautiful and spacious inside! There was also a lovely fire going! We sat at the bar and had fantastic service. I got a white cosmo martini and my hubby got a jalapeño margarita. We shared the French onion soup, which was divine. We also shared the prime rib sandwich. We found it a little odd that it came on a hamburger bun. My half was perfect, my hubby's half had a lot of fat. We still really enjoyed everything and would come back again!

Super cute inside with the stone fireplace which was one of the reasons we picked this place. Also a really decent sized menu with lots of options. We started with the onion straws (not the exact name) appetizer and it was perfect! Super thin onion slices with great breading and good sauce. I also had the French onion soup. It was ok but not amazing and wouldn't particularly recommend. We then also got a small (10") cheese pizza. Not sure it was the "best on the plateau" but it was decent. This could have also been hard to get true "New York style" with only a 10" pie. For mains we got the chicken sandwich and the wedge salad. Both were great! Overall with all the variety of food and drinks we ordered at various times, our server was amazing!!! super attentive and patient with us.

    Onion Straws

So good! We had the onion straws as an appetizer and I had the chipotle chicken salad (both pictured). My kids had pizza and my husband had ribs. Lots of choices!!

food is ok. Unfortunately, they left out 2/5 of our order. Since no one answers their phone and the managers mailbox is full we had to go back to get the missing items. This meant by the time we got back our other food was cold, greasy, & soggy. I'm sorry I did ordered on their website and then to add insult to injury, I left a decent tip!

Awesome place! Huge portions. Friendly staff! They have a very nice outdoor patio. Well be back!

Great service and large area with lots of fireplaces and warm outdoor area. Bang bang shrimp , all appetizers and seasonal drinks were great. Had a couple pizzas in the area and this was everyone's favorite. Have something for everyone

Ended up using the back of the booth for our water bottle and condiments and still struggled for space. Buffalo wings were good but not exactly Buffalo. No buttery spicy hot sauce. It was more peppery than buffalo. Wings were cooked perfectly though Reuben is excellent as are the jalapeno Mac bites. Cheese dip was also excellent but we (and the table next to us) had to ask for more chips. Not portioned terribly well. Beer options were very slim (2 on tap from what it gathered). I'm sure there were plenty of bottled options but draft was disappointing. We ordered the ale but they tapped out and brought us brown ale. At 5pm...only a brown and stout on tap. Overall, it was a pretty middling experience but the food was good and they offer a military appreciation discount.

We stopped by our first day for lunch and I ordered the classic Reuben and fries. Both were delicious I loved the fries so much. My husband ordered the bacon and pimento smash burger which was just as delicious! Day two I had a chicken sandwich and he ordered the Cuban. Day three we had the soft pretzels and cheese dip. Those were bomb! My favorite cocktail was the Italian Spritz. It was so light and just a nice refreshing drink for the afternoon. Service was average. Nothing terrible or great. You can tell they get pretty busy each day. What I really loved was all of the photos of dogs framed on the walls! It was fun to see all the different pups that had been added over the years

I wandered into Main Street Bar & Eatery for what was supposed to be a "quick bite between quotes." Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. One minute I'm thinking "I'll just have a snack," and the next I'm waist-deep in a basket of fried circles of temptation, crunching my way into oblivion while pretending to "work." My laptop was open, sure, but let's not lie to ourselves -- I got absolutely nothing done. I was too busy yelling advice at professional lumberjacks like I'd trained for this moment my whole life. Got invited to a drum circle in Gatrlinburg by my girlfriend's son…read more We went out that morning to see Cades Cover (big mistake - it was Memorial Day) and swung back around through Townsend (stopped at Mountain Man to have a craft brew on the way). Knowing we were going up to the arts district, I looked for a place to meet them before the circle and saw there was a Celtic Pub. Only that was the spot where the drum circle was. And, to my surprise, it is the same owner as the Fox & Parrot Tavern in Gatlinburg, one of my favorite English pubs (and currently closed do to a feud with the US government - hope that gets fixed). The place is definitely British country feeling. Very nice tap list, including both local brews and standard UK brews. Heavy wood feeling with a very nice deck outside, which includes some spots under cover (which was important as it rained on the circle and people had to duck in). There is nothing elegant about the place or the food. But that is its charm. The fish & chips were on point, esp. with the malt vinegar. Shepherd's Pie a bit salty for my tastes, but not to the salt lick level. Also came with chips. As for the drum circle, if you are reading this in June 2026, that is every Monday at 6-8 PM through the end of the month. I got some great drone footage of the circle, which I added to this review.

I would never come here if I was in a hurry, but if you have 2+ hours to eat and want good food in a storied place with staff who will treat you like friends, you're going to love the Rampant Lion. NOTES: -In rural TN, it should not surprise you, but be aware that they have Trump displays in the restaurant. -The restrooms are single stall and accessed from outdoor. They're indoor restrooms - just the door to access them is on the outside. (No porta potties) They're solidly clean - just make sure to pack clothing that works for the temperature outside because you might be dipping outside a few times. -Parking lot is small and gravel. Relatively easy to get in and out of though. -Amazing gin selection with staff that *clearly* knows their gins. -Adorable photos of the owners on slideshow of their trip to Europe on the wall. It's adorably and clearly a couple who was on a good vacation. We've had a good chunk of their menu at this point. Pretzels: Delicious beer chese AND delicious pretzels. Quite a bit of food with this too. Bread, Oil, & Vinegar: Wasn't super fond of this one. A ton of oil in a bowl made it hard to get the right oil-to-vinegar ratio. Chicken Pie: Deliciously breaded with super-tasty french fries too. Served piping hot, so it took a bit to be able to eat it without burning myself but a wait well-made. Reuben: Partner absolutely loved it and said the bread was the absolute perfect consistency. SO much meat in there too (though he said it could use a bit of extra dressing). Bubbles and Squeak: Delicious. Just delicious. Zero notes, you should eat it. Beanie Weenies: Home-made right in the restaurant! My favorite thing on the menu. Super savory, semi-healthy (beans...at least?), and served super warm. Comfort food at its finest. Menu in-restaurant was different than online one on a few things.
