I think we came on an off night bc our food just wasn't great and some of the items didn't even look like they do in others pictures. Pros: service was excellent, atmosphere was great, onion straws and the sauce that came with them were delicious! The sangria and cold beer were great! Cons: the bang bang shrimp (see pic, you can tell) were soooo overcooked as was my husband's chicken in his pasta which he said wasn't good at all. One of the best pizzas ever! The crust was thin and crunchy with a savory sauce, delicious meats and fresh veggies. Our waiter was polite, made sure we were satisfied with our order, and refilled our teas. Local canvas art added charm to the restaurant. read more

We were seated immediately upon walking in, so I didn't get a ton of photos of the inside. We sat outside, and there was a ton of seating out there. Obviously, where most people are requesting and the huge hearth fireplace located out there is probably a major reason why as it helps create a homey ambiance. They have large heaters in the ceiling as well for those cold nights. We just had burgers and fish, and both were delicious. The burger was perfectly seasoned, and the fries were crisp. Husband had the cod dinner. Portions were large, and they have a pretty good variety . They do have beer,wine, and cocktails as well. Absolutely loved this place! It was so beautiful and spacious inside! There was also a lovely fire going! We sat at the bar and had fantastic service. I got a white cosmo martini and my hubby got a jalapeño margarita. We shared the French onion soup, which was divine. We also shared the prime rib sandwich. We found it a little odd that it came on a hamburger bun. My half was perfect, my hubby's half had a lot of fat. We still really enjoyed everything and would come back again! read more

Super cute inside with the stone fireplace which was one of the reasons we picked this place. Also a really decent sized menu with lots of options. We started with the onion straws (not the exact name) appetizer and it was perfect! Super thin onion slices with great breading and good sauce. I also had the French onion soup. It was ok but not amazing and wouldn't particularly recommend. We then also got a small (10") cheese pizza. Not sure it was the "best on the plateau" but it was decent. This could have also been hard to get true "New York style" with only a 10" pie. For mains we got the chicken sandwich and the wedge salad. Both were great! Overall with all the variety of food and drinks we ordered at various times, our server was amazing!!! super attentive and patient with us. read more

Quality of food have declined significantly since last year. We went for dinner twice this week. I ordered half a rack of ribs and I am pretty sure it was cooked a few days ago and just heated up before being served. It had a smear of BBQ sauce on one side. The plate was absolutely overflowing with the sides. It was so full it was impossible to cut the ribs without the sides spilling onto the table. Service was good. Ate at Micas yesterday. Party of 6. Mozzarella sticks are always a hit! Home made, not frozen. Tried the onion this time and it was great too! I still highly highly recommend their pizzas. They usually have a special that is a great deal. Kids' meals are huge too, so if you have littles they can prob split. My kids never finish their meals. read more

Food. Ambiance. I had the Salmon BLT which I thought was good and also unique. I try and eat healthy, but the bacon as I'd never paired it before with salmon. I had to find the wait service as no one came to our table. In fairness, if I remember correctly it may have been a little later than lunch time. I am torn on Mica's - the food is good and they have a decent selection. The service was meh...DH ordered the Wedge and French Onion Soup and was brought a side of fries, which were denied and then it took forever for the soup to come. I had a BLT, which isn't on the menu, but they will make for you. The atmosphere has a very cafeteria feel and there was a pre-teen sitting next to us watching videos without headphones, which was super annoying. We love the covered patio for dining at Mica's. Dinner for four was delicious and included the fresh filet of trout with 2 sides, fried cod with 2 sides, chicken parmesan with linguini and the parmesan crusted salmon with a cream sauce and 2 side dishes of fried okra and mashed potatoes. Our wait time was about 10 minutes (we were given an electronic buzzer) and our server was friendly. The service was attentive and well timed. read more

Outdoor screened in porch was awesome environment. Met the owner, grateful guy. Wife had the Asian Salad. Said it was amazing. I had the Big ole Cheeseburger. Great burger cooked to how I like it. Make sure you visit the WWII memorial outside. Class act are these guys. read more

We have been here before and have never been unhappy with the food or the service that we have received. My wife got the fried shrimp platter and there were a lot of shrimp, I got the chicken parmigiana and I couldn't believe how much chicken there was. Both meals were delicious. Was reluctant to try this restaurant after reading the reviews. My husband and I were seated immediately. Our server greeted us and took our orders. Our drinks came out shortly followed by our food. This was our second visit to Sapphire, NC, and our first visit to Mica's. We went there just as we pulled in to town for some drinks and appetizers. Loved the place! We tried the Sapphire Onion, a delicious crispy pile of breaded onion straws that came with a sweet & spicy "Sapphire Sauce." We loved them and actually had 2 orders for 6 people. Added bonus: they were only $11! We also tried the Bubble Bread which we also enjoyed. It was only $12 and came with a spicy marinara which was a little too spicy for me. I did love the cheesy bread though. My sister ordered a cup of the soup of the day because it was just $4 and she wanted to warm up. It was some type of sausage soup and she really liked it. We started out with some beer & wine. I tried the Allagash White, which was really good and similar to a Blue Moon. After we'd already ordered our drinks we noticed the specialty cocktails and had a few of those as well. (They all sounded spectacular!). We tried the Pumpkin Spice Colada, (Captain Morgan and pumpkin-spice and coconut creams,) and the PayDay Hot Chocolate which had Bailey's, Amaretto, whipped cream and actual hot chocolate. Both were delicious and just $8. My husband loves Crown Royal and decided to get the Cashiers Country Apple which had Crown Royal, home-made apple simple syrup, and cranberry juice . He loved it and it was just $10. Lastly, I ordered a Cinnamon Toast Crunch because one person in our party had never had Fireball. It was another great drink & overall awesome experience....good food, tasty drinks, and very reasonable prices. There aren't a lot of restaurants in the area, so we found ourselves back at Mica's on Sunday night. We sat right next to the cozy fireplace and started off our night with an order of fried pickles. Everyone really liked them; and I'm not usually a fried pickle fan. For dinner my daughter and I both just had the French onion soup. It was served piping hot, and we really liked it! My husband ordered it too, and he thought it could have been cheesier. It was just $8 a bowl. My husband also ordered the Mica's Wedge, which he said was delicious. I believe it was $13, and a decent sized salad. Two people in our party ordered the blackened prime rib sandwich. My daughter's boyfriend loved the fact that it was blackened; but my mother would have preferred a traditional piece of prime rib. Our service was spot-on and all the pricing was extremely reasonable. All the food came out of the kitchen quickly! Mica's is just a great all-around family restaurant that is also a bar. There is inside and outside dining, great service by a friendly staff, and ample parking. We look forward to visiting the Sapphire area again in the future and a visit to Mica's will definitely be on the itinerary. read more

Stopped in after a day on the slopes for pizza and it was just what my family needed to finish off the day. We ordered: Mica's pizza, mozzarella sticks and a cheese pizza and everything was delicious. We had no room for dessert. They have a full bar and have their own specialty drinks as well. Men bathroom had a baby changing table which is huge in my book. We will definitely be returning. read more

This was my (and my wife) first time here, and we were thoroughly impressed. First of all there's plenty of parking (on a Saturday night). Secondly, after wait 15 minutes for a seat, the hostess came out and assured us we were not forgotten. She offered to put us outside (in was cool) and told us the heaters would keep us comfortable. We went outside where she seated us directly under a heater! After the family that was dining next to us left, we had the entire outdoor patio (roaring fireplace and all) completely to our selves. This place has an enormous outdoor capacity. I had the Caesar salad and my wife had the shrimp and grits special. One of the best shrimp and grits we've eaten. It had no sausage, spice or tomato sauce. The grits were yellow cornmeal. Definitely different and definitely good. Our server was knowledgeable, super friendly and attentive. We've been coming to Mica's since we bought our home in 2007 & Jack stood watch at the front entrance. Times have certainly changed and the new renovation has made what was for so long a dark and dated interior into a bright and more open concept dining concept. The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is attentive, but not overbearing. My Greek salad with shrimp skewer was perfectly cooked and my husband's fish and chips was very tasty. If you're in the Cashiers area, lunch or dinner at Mica's is a must. read more

We decided to go to Mica's tonight for dinner tonight at about 7:30. We are a party of nine. We were told that they couldn't serve us as they close at 9: 00. This is the most ludicrous statement I have ever heard. We have been in the restaurant business for years and would never say that to a customer even if we needed to stay open until everyone was served. Sometimes you're in the mood for a good Bloody Mary. You just crave that spicy tomato-vodka kick. You don't want a drink that features a whole turkey leg, a skewer of roasted Brussels sprouts, and a ragweed garnish. Can we just please have a proper Bloody? The bartenders at Mica's have you covered. Plus good fresh salads - love the house vinaigrette. The BLT we ordered was stuffed with crisp bacon, fresh lettuce, and beautiful ripe tomatoes. Love the shoestring fries. The pizza is delish - just don't expect a true NY pizza experience. Gotta say it because there's always that one person who gets super salty when their Cashiers, NC slice doesn't remind them of their glory days on Long Island or whatever. We have eaten at Mica's a number of times over the last 2 or 3 years. We went there 2 weeks in a row - 10/29/2023 & 11/5/2023. We went by ourselves on 10/29/2023 & were seated right away. Met a nice couple who live in Sapphire & enjoyed that very much. Food was very good. Once our order was placed, we got it quickly & it was hot. Something has changed since the last time we were there. Management I'm thinking & it is so much for the better. We ride motorcycles & we had a group of 15 on 11/5/2023 & again we were seated very quickly on the porch which is heated. We had a great waitress, Brook, who took care of the orders for all 15 people seated at 2 tables. She had help from management delivering the food. From what I know, everyone got the right food & seemed happy with what they got. The blackened prime rib sandwich was to die for & the have very good fries. We will be back. There aren't many places to choose from to eat & I'm delighted this restaurant has improved so much. read more

Micas is a staple in cashier/sapphire! Mondays are especially busy as they're the only restaurant open, but the service is still good! Our last visit, we came for lunch and had the calzone, as it came highly recommended and certainly had no regrets- so good! This time we came for dinner and I deviated and tried the duck, it was GREAT! Also had the Cesar salad with the black peppercorn Parmesan dressing- ended up ordering extra dressing to dunk the steamed broccoli in! So good! Highly recommend when in town. read more
