Located near the corner, there is angled parking near the door. We were lucky enough to find a spot on the end and were only steps from the entrance. I can assume busier days may require additional walking. The store is small and has a display case right in front with day's bagels. The selection was large without being overwhelming. We were greeted as we entered and received very friendly service. There also is a cooler for the various cream cheese spreads to the right. We made out selections of bagels and cream cheese spreads and had a very nice conversation with the owners/ bakers. Tasting the bagels a little later, we wished we had bought more. They were crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside just like good bagels should be. The flavors were wonderful, with special shout out to the French toast bagels and cinnamon/ brown sugar cream cheese spread. These bagels are exactly what you would get if you were in NY, so make sure you stop whenever you are in the area. read more

They were absolutely slammed on Saturday morning when we came in and they handled it like champs! It's a small walk up style counter service. No seating, but you could probably eat at the window counter. We received several apologies from staff for the wait, but we didn't think it was bad AT ALL for how busy they were and the food was worth it! I got the sausage, egg, and cheese on an Asiago bagel and it was excellent - my only complaint? My friend got the same thing with ALL the meats! This cute coffee/bagel shop is such a gem in Macon County. I've been in Franklin for a few days, the coffee is fresh. They do have a side bar with sweetener options, and deposable cream. Genuine New York Bagels is authentic to the name. A very good selection of fresh baked bagels or croissants made to order. They also have baskets with six bagels in clear bags at discounts prices from the previous day. The owners are accommodating knowing our time is essential. I love this cute eatery. read more

Brooklyn Bagels is one of the best places in town. While visiting, I noticed that the owner knows her regular customers, and even knows their standard order. We have been in as a couple, but we also took family members in when they visited. One daughter said this is her new favorite place to eat. Teens were also well pleased. So, happy, happy people. That's always good. Since I am gluten intolerant (I know. I love gluten; it just doesn't love me), I get their salads. The ingredients are always fresh, and they give you a plentiful serving. In a small town like Franklin, NC it's hard to imagine that such a gem would ever exist. Brooklyn Bagels has become part of my routine whenever I'm in town. Aaron and all who work there are as friendly as could be and I'm sure most would agree that a quality bagel served with a smile and sometimes a fist bump is priceless. I'm partial to the veggie sandwich on a bagel, sometimes with a well-done egg in there too. Don't miss this bagel place with a small-town vibe. If you don't take your sandwich to-go, they have a dining area right next door which is a great way to enjoy dining-in. They open early in the morning and close early afternoon. The best sandwich shop in Franklin hands down. You might not even know it yet but you'll love these NY style bagel sandwiches. You cannot go wrong with the club on garlic (or onion). My girl raves about the italian on jalepeno cheddar though. Even if you typically don't like bagels these bad boys will get your taste buds salivating. Now , let me give a disclaimer before I review. These are NOT authentic NYC bagels. If you've spent anytime there, like I have, you will recognize they aren't baked (boiled) the same way .... But this is no way diminishes how excellent they were. Just setting the stage to adjust expectations. Hands down this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The bagel, which had somewhat of a texture that crossed between freshly baked crusty bread and a croissant texture. Incredibly fresh and egg, cheese and sausage were quality and I'd not taste like they came out of a microwave. The staff were very friendly and as quick as they could be given how busy they were for a Saturday mid morning. I was 4 people deep to order to may want to call ahead. We were just traveling through and will definitely make note for next time as it is worth going this way to stop again and investigate further the cute little town of franklin. A short walk up the block and you can enjoy your bagel or cookies or muffin and coffee or one of their other plentiful choices at a bench in the beautifully manicured flower garden on the corner. Off street parking but it's plentiful so no worries. We have a big truck and fit just fine. Absolutely worth every carb! Enjoy! read more
