Here we go again!!! Another review spurred by a lovely Yelper liking my pictures. Thank you Rose D. For jarring my memory and giving me memories to fix not writing a great review for this place. We traveled to Brevard back in 2022 for one of our annual leaf viewing tours. Fun fact about Brevard! There are white squirrels everywhere. There are also regular brown squirrels too. My wife told me about this before we got here but it's strange, there are so many of them. One of the oddest things I find is that there are no mixed squirrels. Like kinda brown, or kinda white, it's either one or the other. They hang together, surely they get it on. What the hell is going on here?!?!? Where did they come from? Why haven't they spread to other areas?? Anyway.... About this bakery. We stopped by here a few times for meals and snacks. Most of it was just pretty good and nothing to really write home (lol) about. I did not know this at the time and did not truly savor the moment well enough. I had the absolute best pastry I have ever had in my life here. I often think back to it and when I see a similar looking pastry only to be let down when I try it. It was the scone to beat all other scones!!! So freaking good!! Orange Pistachio Coriander was the flavor and nothing will ever beat it I am afraid!! If you make it here, check out the white squirrels. There are even gift shops dedicated to them and I swear they have little signs all over town about them. Also.... Mantiques is right down the way. Scone doesn't have a lot of sugar and taste off when it's cold. I asked the staff if they could heat it up and they told me their oven is only used in the morning. So I asked to exchange for a different item since it's pretty much inedible and they told me they couldn't do that or give me a refund. That's fine but I didn't feel that the staff cared at all to make the situation right so 1 star read more

I really wanted to like Blue Ridge Bakery because the atmosphere has potential, but the service has been a consistent issue for us. We've stopped in several times, usually early when it's quiet, and unfortunately the staff (with one exception) have been noticeably unfriendly--especially toward my kids. My boys are always polite and well-mannered, so it's frustrating to see them treated with impatience or attitude. There's just no excuse for adults to be dismissive or rude to children or any customers, especially in a place that serves families. That said, Matthew deserves recognition. He's always been welcoming, kind, and genuinely great with my boys. He sets the standard for what the customer experience should be. I hope management takes a closer look at how guests are being treated, because with better service, this place could easily be somewhere we'd visit regularly. read more

This delightful little bakery in downtown Brevard has everything from soup, salad, and sandwiches to brownies, cookies, cakes, and almost any other goodie you can think of. We popped in and had the peanut butter brownie and apple cake, as well as a coffee that is roasted across the street! Staff is super friendly and patient as you try to decide what to order! Relaxed atmosphere with tables and chairs inside. Definitely a place to check out when in town. read more

New owners...now open on Saturday....thats a good start. Ordered an egg salad sandwich...took 15 mins to prepare, and was ample in size, completely tasteless..a sea salt caramel brownie was outstanding and made up for the weak sandwich. I'll give it another try someday. read more

my friends salad was good but I got a ham and cheese sandwich for &11.25 and it had one measly piece of ham on it. Thete was way more bread than meat. Very disappointing. I would never go back. When I asked the mgr she said it's weighed out. BS. I get more meat on a subway sandwich. read more

Across from the theater on Main Street. Just looking at the display case will add an inch to your waist. They are only open until 2PM. Food selection is generally limited to sandwiches, quiche, soup, and of course baked goods. Counter help is super fast. Chicken salad was excellent. Cannoli was excellent. read more

Ordered the cupcake bouquet for my MIL's birthday, and they were a big hit! Absolute showstopper, so pretty! They came in a nice box with pink ribbon and were ready at time of pickup. Super easy to order online in advance, and pickup was very quick. Most of the people working there were wearing masks, and I love to support local businesses that are doing their best to keep everyone healthy and safe! Did not buy any food, prices a bit high. Did purchase 2 bottles of Dasani water. They charge $2.75 for a 16.9oz bottle of water. Wal Mart sells a case of 32 of these for around $6. I understand making a profit but this is basically price gouging. read more

The food was surprisingly good and well portioned for being called a bakery. In fact I overlooked it as a lunch spot on Yelp initially and only decided to eat here when we wandered in and saw they have a full lunch menu! Prices were average for the area. The bakery items were good too and lots of options. Greek influences for the whole menu but other things too. My friend has to be gf and they had good choices & she was pleased. It's very no nonsense in atmosphere. Bathrooms and tables clean. Lots of locals kept coming in and greeting each other so it seems popular. read more

I love this place. The chicken, tuna, and potato salads are excellent. The quiche is great as well - may favorite is the pepper jack and sausage. The price point is great. Due to others raving about their chocolate pie, We ordered the Coconut Cream pie for my husband's bday bc that is his favorite and it was so bad. The texture was very weird. 7 out of 7 of us could not even eat it. Not sure if it was just an off day or if that was the norm. Still gave 3 stars bc I hear there is many good treats here. I'll give it a try again next time we're in town. Just not the coconut cream pie. read more

We visited again a year later and everything was just as good as the first time we were there. Everyone who works here is very pleasant and friendly. They have added a grab n go case for some of their most popular items. Cookies are as delicious as we remembered We stopped here hoping to buy fresh bread for the road. They don't sell bread by the loaf but we were hungry for lunch so stayed. I tried their new smoked almond and chickpea spread on a sandwich and loved it so much that I got some to go. Limited bread choices and the whole wheat (made in house) was a bit on the dry side (the only thing I did not like about Blue Ridge). My husband ordered my birthday cake through here. The service and ordering of the cake went smoothly. They even moved up the order date and we're flexible with our plans. They recreated our wedding cake from a picture. which came out beautifully! However the cake was incredibly dry and we didn't even finish eating it. It just did not taste good at all. read more

This place is awesome! We stumbled upon the bakery because another local restaurant would not accommodate our vegetarian family. However, Blue Ridge Bakery did not just accommodate, they went overboard! The woman who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly. The bakery has vegetarian menu items that are actually vegetarian (unlike the previous place we tried). My wife had the split pea soup with the lentil wrap - excellent. My kids both had the egg salad which they gobbled right up. I had the chickpea salad on wheat bread, which was recommended by the aforementioned host, and it did not disappoint. All of the food was not only delicious, but extremely satisfying. Oh, and yeah, we had desert - M&M cookies for the kids and brownies for the adults, mmmmmmm, so good! When it comes to goodness...where do I begin!!! ALL of the wonderful personalities that make up the Blue Ridge Bakery are delightful! Each one made me feel at home and welcomed! The Zucchini Cornbread is to die for!!! and each kind of Quiche holds a special place in my heart and stomach. The pastries are crafted with love and are more than delectable! I attempted to sample a different one each day and then switched each day between my favorites-The Cappuccino-Chocolate Muffin- The heavenly Cinnamon Roll and the various Danishes--AND the SWEET POTATO CHILI Oy Vey!!!!- They even had Challah which made my Friday and Saturdays... The 94 days that I have been in Brevard have been made even sweeter because of you-The Blue Ridge Bakery!!!! A person could go there EVERY DAY and find awesomeness.. Love this little bakery. I will always stop in at the end of my visit to the mountains and buy their cinnamon raisin bread. I recommend cutting it thick and putting butter on it then grill in oven till toasted. Soooooooo good. read more

Come early for the best selection, but they have plenty throughout most of the day. One of the greatest coffee shops in the world exists in Brevard!?! Where to begin!? First, the coffee is excellent. I love a basic, self-serve drip coffee and these guys won that round. Second, the dessert options that have a variety of cookies were equally excellent. My group picked up a peanut butter/chocolate chip chunk, the "variety" cookie (a creative grouping - oats, blueberries, etc), and a chocolate chip cookie. Each was awesome. Lastly, why get a coffee without a baguette to share with your partner or group? Delicious bread. Needless to say, this place seemingly begs for you to stick around, which is what we did.
