Yikes! I'm honestly not sure where to start and really hate leaving a two star review for a family run business in a small town, but I really do think they need to take a look at their business model. If anything, I hope that this review helps the owners to reconsider some of their offerings. First off, there are multiple cars parked in the parking lot making the average passer buyer think that the restaurant is extremely busy. It does seem like they are known for their Italian food, but they also offered breakfast. First off, I don't like anything special for breakfast. I am very happy with scrambled eggs, a biscuit, bacon I ordered just that, scrambled eggs, a biscuit, and bacon. It was honestly horrendous. Again, I really hate saying this because I know that it's family run and in a small town, but I think they need to reevaluate the breakfast situation. I know that breakfast food is pretty bland, but this was beyond bland and not worth the money. The girl that was seating people that morning was not friendly at all, and we didn't even know that we were supposed to follow her. I definitely hope that their Italian is better than the breakfast, and maybe they should reevaluate the business model. Not a good start. The interior of the restaurant was okay and appeared adequately clean. Our server was pleasant enough and got us our drinks promptly. My wife ordered a cheeseburger with fries and I ordered the country fried steak sandwich. Our food came out in a timely fashion, however my wife's burger was missing the cheese. Burger went back to the kitchen and came back in less than a minute with a piece of cheese slapped on top of the patty. Both of our meals were tasteless and overpriced for what we got. Looked and tasted like some heated up frozen food. I've had better burgers at Mickey D's. In summary: don't bother. In fact, you can skip most of the restaurants in Townsend. As a frequent traveler, this was one of the most overpriced restaurants I've encountered. I had one mediocre pancake and a cup of coffee in a chipped mug; my husband had one pancake, one egg, two slices of bacon, milk and orange juice. Our bill was $37! read more

For the first time ever, I failed to consult Yelp before picking a breakfast place. Huge mistake. Food ranked as the worst breakfast we'd ever had and rating was only salvaged by the dog friendliness of the place. We were able to sit outside with our pup and were able to secure a water bowl. Do not bother with the hashbrowns. Cold and stale - not even salt and pepper could save it. Croissant was ok and pancakes were fine. Grits were horribly bland and gelatinous. The kicker was the price - since there was no kids menu, the kids had to order from the main menu. Thought we could knock some off the price by paying cash (there's cash/card prices on the menu) but even that didn't help. We left hungry, annoyed and poor. Won't ever return. read more

The cleanliness of the restaurant could use a little more attention from ownership and the pricing was too high for what you get. If it is convenient, then go! As a mistake, we did not consult the reviews prior to going. I will say that our waiter was great and the food came out quickly. The food came out so quickly because it was so undercooked. The sausage omelette with cheese and the hashbrowns have zero taste.. The French toast was decidedly one of the best things on the menu, but it was likely because of the sweet syrup. I came here because it was the only place near by that sounded good. I came in, the place looks interesting, nothing crazy, fairly bland. One of the things I noticed is the music selection. It's amazing. I love the music selection here. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich, and that was the BEST bacon egg and cheese I've EVER had in my ENTIRE life. Outrageously over priced. Food was cooked from frozen ie: crinkle cut fries and roast beef sandwich. Roll was toasted but also a little stale. Meat looked like SteakUms (frozen thin steak from the grocery store). Soda machine out so no real options other than coffee, milk or sweet tea...the tea was good but $4?? And $16 for the sandwich. Not worth half of that!! The lady behind the register kept staring at me while I ate...so uncomfortable I switched sides of the table!! The only real positive was the service. We came at night to the Italian restaurant that opens at 3 pm. We got the baked spaghetti special and meatball sub sandwich. Both were excellent. The sauce was slightly sweet and tangy and the baked spaghetti contained cooked onions and bell peppers plus pepperoni slices... yumm. Waitress was very nice. Not only was there no seasoning, the bacon came it cold. We ordered the steak and eggs and I was extremely worried that everything came out in less than 5 min. On the 12th. of this month my wife and I stopped by the Townsend Pancake House for dinner. We were surprised to see that it was also an Italian restaurant We both ordered the Linguini Alfredo It came with soup or Salad the food was great Tasted homemade as a matter of fact We returned the net night for dinner I had Spaghetti and homemade meat balls my wife had the Lasagna again the food was good. The smoky mountain area is known for pancake and breakfast places. I've been wanting to try this one for quite sometime ever since I saw their sign. It's off the path of the tourist area and has great views of the mountains. I'm a huge fan of these pancake places as anyone can see in my reviews. This place isn't quite the level of the others. There's not much emphases on pancakes which I think should be if you're going to have a brand of a pancake house. There should be an option to include pancakes with some of these meals on the menu. Leaving Cades Cove we stopped here for breakfast, regretfully. A run down, hole in the wall local restaurant we hopped would have good food. However, we should've known by the first taste of what they call coffee. Putrid brown water, that couldn't even be helped by cream. Nasty watered down "coffee" unfortunately was the highlight of our experience. The bathrooms looked like run down gas station bathrooms. The staff is indistinguishable from the customers, unless one happens to have a coffee pot in their hands. We ordered standard breakfasts. Pancakes & bacon. Pecan Waffle with scrambled eggs & cheese. 45 minutes later we receive the nastiest cold food I have ever seen. I took one bite of the waffle to confirm everything was ice cold. The cheese wasn't even melted in the scrambled eggs. The gravy on the biscuit was nearly hard looking. We told the waitress we were leaving, and went to pay for our beverages. When the manager checked us out she couldn't have cared less that the food was inedible, that we had been there and hour waiting, and charged us $8 for our drinks.
