We been wanting to try this brewery ever since it opened a few years ago. It is always packed. We were about to bring Freckles with us, because they have a dog friendly patio. The weather was very ominous, so we decided to leave her in the RV with the air on. You order at the counter and they bring it to you. There is a bar and you order your beer there. We're enjoying a leisurely afternoon looking at the beautiful Smokey's. There is even a playground for the kids! read more

We come here every time we're in TN! The playground is perfect for littles and tables near by for parents to enjoy their food and drinks and still be able to see them. Food is always amazing whether you get the pizza or the tacos! And the ice cream is so perfect to end our adventure read more

My dad absolutely raved about this place years ago, and insisted I go try it out. I was so glad I did. Over the years it has become a deliciously, reliable place to pop into whenever I'm in Townsend. It's quite a unique setup- creamery, brewery/restaurant, and an outside taco "truck". For families, it is such a wonderful spot; playground-esque with lots of activities for them to enjoy. My husband and I enjoyed the drinks (a beer for him, mango margarita from the taco truck for me!) and food very much. I enjoyed the tacos, one of each flavor, and my husband had a flatbread. The menu is quite diverse is has a lot of brewery favorites like pizzas and fries...which I also absolutely loved. While it may not be full service, the staff are very friendly and always seem happy to help you get what you need. A nice, casual spot that hits every time. read more

Such a great find in the smoky mountains. Small town, big taste! We were starving when we walked into the restaurant for a late lunch. The place has a very cool vibe. Got a salad and a couple pizzas. The Salad was super refreshing and flavorful. Our favorite pizza was ricotta, fig and peaches. The Margherita didn't impress us much. Beer on tap, sodas and a decent menu. There's a creamery that's attached to the restaurant/brewery. read more

Great place to stop for lunch after a hike. I appreciated their menu. We unfortunately had pizza the night before so opted for two salads, one being the power bowl and a kids grilled cheese. We also order a soft pretzel which was huge. All items were great and service was quick, especially considering how busy they were. This place definitely caters to families with small kids offering a place to play and keeps them in visible range. The outdoor seating gave a nice picnic feel. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place was recommended by our campground manager and it was so good the first night, we went back for night two. Night one we got the taco trio and chips and guacamole - very good. Tonight my husband got the pizza and I got the roasted half chicken with roasted potatoes. Winner, winner chicken dinner!! read more

Stumbled onto this place traveling thru and looking for something dog friendly...the brewery was super busy (Sunday afternoon) so we ordered from the Tacos & Tequila cart...our ONLY complaint is the smell!! OMG...Every time the breeze blew there was an awful waft of sewage. We were not the only ones bothered by it. Hopefully they get it figured out/fixed, because this place is really cool for all ages! read more

The Peaceful Side Social is an excellent craft beer/food gathering spot in Townsend. Whether you've been hiking all day in the sun, tubing in the river, or cruising around Cades Cove, this is the place to refill and recharge. This was my first time here and I was very pleased. The menu is diverse, with chicken, pizza, beef tenderloin bites, soups and stew, salads, fries, great soft drinks and sweet tea. Photos of the menus are posted. The only thing they don't have is hamburgers/cheeseburgers but their food is flavorful and next time I will try the beef stew. They also have a craft brew selection for your perusal. read more

The grain bowl is one of the few vegetarian or vegan options. It's quite good. It's a shame that the description on the menu simply lists "grain " mix. It is actually lots more.. black beans and edamame. It would help to have a more complete description. read more

We had the sourdough pizza. Be careful of the hot peppers on the veggie pizza. I recommend the ice cream and the pizza was a little overpriced. read more

This place is a such a cool vibe. Inside or outside seating is plentiful.. it gets busy because it's good beer, good food and good people. We came here with family visiting in town for the weekend. A variety of food was ordered and shared. The turkey BLT was delicious. The pizza is always good.. I wish they used the little cup and char pepperoni but that's a me thing. The fig and pear pizza was ordered by another family member but I tried it.. it was odd. Very sweet and to me more like a dessert pizza. The ingredients by themselves were amazing.. together is just not for me unless I wanted something on sweet side. read more

This place is yummy! Great experience overall. We ordered the three meat pizza and two glasses of wine. The person taking the orders asked if we had been there before. Thin crust pizza and homemade beer were very good material were very fresh, you could taste the difference.

We showed up about 20 minutes before they were scheduled to close, but they did not seem to be annoyed at all, very friendly and welcoming. The place was clean, well lit, and perfect for conversation over tasty food and beverages. We ordered chicken wings, and a pizza. It was all very tasty, the chicken wings were relatively large as well. Super flavorful and moist, yet fully cooked. Next time I stay in Townsend, this will be a must-visit location. read more

Updated Vegan Review I was disappointed to see the menu change. The dish that used to work for me now comes with three dips: a fish spread, pimento cheese, and hummus. With two out of three being non-vegan, it didn't make sense to pay for items I couldn't eat, so I left. Thankfully, Maryville isn't far and has several vegan-friendly restaurants worth checking out. read more

We were searching for a place to eat before heading to the firefly event at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our first stop had just closed, but the employees there recommended this spot, and I'm so glad they did. What a hidden gem! It was bustling, possibly due to an event happening at the time, but it turned out to be perfect since we had time to spare before the fireflies event. We waited in a long line to order, which actually worked in our favor, everything on the menu looked so good, we needed the extra time to decide! Our boys went with the pepperoni pizza, while my husband and I shared a couple of sandwiches and the fig pizza. Every bite was absolutely phenomenal. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere lively, and the food unforgettable. Next time we're in town visiting the Smokies, this will definitely be our go to spot! read more

We stopped by after spending the day in Oak Ridge, TN. Lines were long and out the door. Guess that was a good sign. We got the Three Meat Pizza which contained pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage, mozzarella, and parmesan red sauce. Peaceful Side Social makes sourdough pizza and I have to say that I have never had sourdough pizza. I'm glad I got to try because it was rather delicious. Lots of good chunks of the three meats in each bite. We also got the garden salad which was just enough for the two of us. There were plenty of people eating outside but we were happy staying inside with the air conditioning! After finishing our meal, we went over to the creamery side of the store. We got in line and asked for strawberry and another flavor which I forgot. The server grabbed a cup and we said we wanted a cone. She was clearly mad at us for saying that but I don't see why because she didn't ask if we wanted a cup or cone! She flipped the cup in her hand back in the pile (which she didn't even use to put any ice cream in yet!) and made a big sigh. She got the cone and looked at the container of strawberry and said they were out. So I changed my order. And just as I told her my new flavor choice, she decided she was going to try to scoop up the last little bits of strawberry ice cream. I barely got a scoop of the leftover bits before she scooped out the second flavor. I thought she was really rude and impatient and to scoop up just bits from an empty container was not serving a customer with the best of what you have. The three stars is really for the pizza. read more

A nice place to hang out. We were in Townsend this week and we visited Peaceful Side Social twice; once for lunch and once for an afternoon beer. The restaurant has nice seating inside and a spacious beer garden outside. There's a pleasant and casual atmosphere here. Food and beer are ordered at the counter. You're given an electronic tracker and they use it to find you when they deliver your food and drinks. The pretzel with beer cheese was enjoyable. It was large, warm, and served with some delicious homemade beer cheese and mustard. I'd recommend ordering it. The beef stew was tasty and seemed like the perfect thing to order on a cool fall afternoon. But, the bowl was barely half full. It definitely wasn't worth the $17.50 charged. A full bowl of stew would have been great, because it had nice flavor with fresh beef and herbs. I'm downgrading my stars due to the portion size of the stew. The beers are wonderful. We especially liked the Peaceful Side IPA (#1 on the menu), the Peaceful Side Oktoberfest (#3 on the menu), and the Tennessee Highlands Stout (#12 on the menu). I recommend the beer here. And the food is tasty. But, I was very disappointed by the portion size of the beef stew. read more

I'm gonna give this place 4 Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge Stars. Meaning anywhere else it would probably get two stars. We ordered takeout and it was very difficult to get them on the phone. When we arrived, the line was out the door, but moving pretty quick. It's your ypical tourist, destination, trendy pizza. The $14 pretzel is a little outrageously priced but par for the course. It seemed like a fun atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and lots of people having fun but super crowded. I don't know. I'm torn if I would go back. read more

Peaceful Side Social has a great vibe that is accommodating for families. Very nice outdoor area for seating. The restaurant is counter service ordering and they bring the food to your table via a tracking device. The pretzel is a solid appetizer, served with beer cheese and really hot mustard. Tomato soup is a good choice, if you are in the mood for soup. The dry rub chicken wings with Alabama white sauce were terrific and my favorite. Pizzas are pretty good as well. read more

We came here for dinner during a trip to the area. It's like food court setup that you order at the counter and grab a table, except for that someone would serve your food to you. The food here was mediocre. We tried two salads, ham panini and BBQ chicken wings. The salad tasted okay but portion was super small. The ham panini was not bad. I didn't like their BBQ wings. It was too flavourless inside. read more
