Expect tawdry kitsch everywhere you go. This is a great restaurant for families. You get a meal and a show! If you're of a certain age and remember Showbiz Pizza or the early years of Chuck E. Cheese, you'll feel that nostalgic pull when you step inside. There are dozens of animatronic chickens lined above the booths, sitting in their roosts and waiting to sing to you while you nosh on home fries and eggs. Every several minutes, the chickens will bawk-bawk-bawk along to a familiar song, like YMCA by The Village People or Let's Go to the Hop by Danny & the Juniors. It's very fun and entertaining. And kind of loud! When the chickens are performing, it can be difficult to talk to the people at your table. The food at Frizzle Chicken Cafe is fine, but honestly, the food is secondary to the spectacle of the chickens. I visited with a small group, and we all got something different. I got the avocado toast with over-medium eggs, and it was just OK. The bread was not toasted almost at all, it came with feta cheese (not my favorite) and diced tomatoes and a balsamic drizzle. One person at the table got the cinnamon roll pancakes, and they looked good but very sweet. Apparently, the chicken and waffles is the thing to get, but no one at the table felt in the mood to eat chicken, so I didn't get the opportunity to taste them. Mostly, Frizzle is a breakfast joint, but they do have a small selection of lunch items, like chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich. They have animatronic chickens that sing dance every 5 to 10 minutes that lasts about two. They have a small menu, but the food is very good. This is a go to spot if you have kids with you. They have animatronic chickens all around the restaurant that sing karaoke every 30 minutes or so. It was a busy day so it kind of drowned out a lot of the sound, but I was glad as I heard they might be loud. The chicken for their chicken and waffles are just chicken strips. Their breakfast ham sandwich is a piece of ham on a hamburger bun. The potatoes tasted old. I was hoping the robotic chickens interacted with each-other the whole time, or something, but they just do a themed song every 22 minutes. They would kinda shake the entire time but I was hoping for something more entertaining. Service was fine but don't expect more than 1 refill on coffee or soda, food came quick. Wait to sit was atrocious on the weekend at 9am. We were a large group but seated us at 2 separate tables instead of a large table, so specify if you want to get seated together. Stopped in on a Sunday, sometime around brunch. The hostess quoted us, a family of 6, a 25 minute wait, but it was defintiely less than that. We were seated and promptly given menus and utensils, and our drink order was taken. Coffee was hot and pretty good! We all ordered something a little different. My husband especially liked his waffle and I thought my eggs and potatoes were seasoned and cooked well! Everything was hot and came out quickly. The atmosphere was great! The kids enjoyed the chicken shows and picked out a chicken stuffed animal for our baby. We walked around the restaurant checking out all the chicken names, which were fairly comical. Bathrooms were okay-- there was some toilet paper all over the floor and no paper towels in the holder, but I'm sure those are things they were probably taken care of since it was closer to closing time. The dining room seemed fairly clean though. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating, even with the sling for the carseat in the middle of the walkway. Make sure to ask abut the toppings for waffles and pancakes as they aren't listed on the menu. I got chicken and waffles with crushed oreos and husband got chicken and cinnamon bun pancakes. The good: Frizzle Chicken Cafe looks like a red barn on the outside and their theme is a farm/barn setting. The inside has a wooden decor and several animatronic chickens with super funny names. Every so often, the chickens cluck the Star Wars Emperor Theme song. The show was pretty funny to watch. The bad: The food. My wife ordered the Chicken and Waffle, and I ordered The Whole Breakfast with pancakes. Our server brought out our food and everything was cold. Worse, our food tasted just like a Banquet frozen meal from the grocery store. We were hoping the restaurant wasn't just purely themed. We were hoping there would be good tasting food available. Unfortunately, we were wrong. The Final: I cannot recommend this restaurant unless you come here for the Chicken theme itself.
