We came here for our anniversary brunch and had a really great experience. I checked in online while we were on the way, which helped a ton--we barely had to wait. Definitely worth seeing if you can get on the list ahead of time. I got the milk parlor omelette with egg whites and it was so good (and really pretty too). First time visiting Tennessee, and I had heard a lot about this breakfast spot, so my family and I decided to give it a try. I'd heard great things about the cinnamon rolls, but unfortunately, it was a bit tough for my liking and way too sweet for me. It was just okay overall. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and really loved the fried chicken. He felt the waffle was a little soggy, but the potatoes were very good. He also thought the turkey sausage was slightly salty. My mother ordered the omelet with a side of biscuit and eggs, and she really enjoyed her meal with no complaints at all. I ordered the farm tenant favorite. My scrambled eggs with cheese were good at first, but I unfortunately bit into several pieces of eggshell, which made me stop eating them. The bacon was good -- nice and crispy just how I asked. The pancake was phenomenal, and I absolutely loved the biscuit and gravy. I'm still thinking about how good that was! The service was good, especially considering how busy it was. Our server did the best she could, and the inside of the restaurant is very beautiful. I loved the cozy, Christmas-like feel of the decor. So the restaurant and people are very nice, but the food did not impress or even satisfy us. It was a decent amount of food just lacking in flavor. I got the fried chicken which came with 2 side so I got mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. It came with a cup of soup but I also wanted a salad. The fried chicken tasted like gas station or grocery store fried chicken. Just ugh. The Mac n cheese was ok but still not great. The soup and mashed potatoes were extremely missing seasoning. We couldn't do anything to doctor these up. The salad was the best part of the meal. But you can't mess up a house salad. And they make sure you have enough dressing bringing two big cups of it. However we told the host when we arrived that we were on the waitlist and he neglected to "check us in" causing a longer wait time. From the moment we were seated to when we left, it was less than an hour. The service was very fast! We split biscuits for an appetizer. They were delicious but almost too big and thick. Saw this restaurant and it looked interesting. With almost 2k reviews, several were uncomplimentary but we went with an open mind. Driving up the line was VERY LONG outside. Thought oh oh but we got seated in about 5 minutes! Place was very busy but our waitress was quick. Wife had pig in a blanket and they were huge. I had Red-Eyed Benny "Shaved country ham on biscuit w/red-eye gravy". I'm not a big red-eye gravy fan but this dish was okay. You should be aware the ham is pretty salty. Next time we're going to stop by for lunch. They have an open faced pot roast sandwich that sounds great. Warning if you making a special side trip to come here: Distance isn't too far from I40 but with all the activity, traffic can be very slow. read more

The pancakes were truly phenomenal, and everything I wanted! I actually specifically went here for this, especially because I've never seen pancakes like this before anywhere else. They were perfectly soft, moist, yet thick and fluffy. We were able to get toppings for it as well. The fried chicken, however, was a breast piece and was extremely dry. I also wish it came with maybe two pieces of chicken for the price. Besides that we got were all right, especially the mac & cheese I had much higher hopes for. Five Oaks Farm Kitchen is a must visit when in Tennessee. All of the food is homestyle and absolutely delicious. We were a group of five so we all ordered something different and shared so that everyone could try multiple items from the menu. My favorites were the meatloaf, chicken pot pie, cornbread and the smokehouse sampling. The ribs in the sampling literally melted off the bone and were so flavorful it blew my mind. The mashed potatoes were so delicious they didn't even need gravy, and the chicken pot pie was perfect. The service at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen is top tier. All of our drinks, cornbread and entrees came out within minutes of placing our orders. Whenever we needed something like a refill or an extra set of cutlery, it was brought to the table with little to no wait time and always with a smile. You can't ask for better service. The ambiance inside the restaurant is clean and elegant. You can show up here in casual attire or more dressed up and still feel very comfortable. Noise level isn't too loud and if you get to sit by the pond you'll get a pretty nice view of the water wheel, fountain and sky park lift. 10/10 recommend this restaurant to locals and visitors alike. read more

He thought it might have been sitting awhile before they brought it out. Our food...all of it...came out at the same time and within 10 minutes of ordering, so I'm pretty sure it had been sitting out for awhile. The soup was served at room temperature and the bread was hard in places as if it was sitting out and getting stale. Overall a crummy experience. The atmosphere was nice, the server was sweet, but overall, the menu was limited, the food expensive and the bonus of food poisoning was awful.
