Loved the local goat. There was a wait but we found 2 seats at the bar. Great location and bar staff was outstanding. Lots of restaurants in the area but none compare to this one. Excellent food and service!
Everything was excellent. I got the Sauvignon Blanc, the Salmon with broccoli and a baked potato. I asked for the Teriyaki on my Salmon. It was excellent! The potato was so good with the salty skin butter and sour cream. I shared the side salad with my husband and it was so fresh. He got the steak and fries. He really enjoyed it. We were surprised by the price being so good. Our waitress was so nice! Very helpful in letting us know popular dishes. We will definitely be back!
Local Goat is comparable in size and popularity to Old Mill just down the road both are local favorites that stay busy. Unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. We called hours ahead for a party of 10 since our friends were meeting us from Atlanta while we were visiting from Tampa. We were repeatedly told we couldn't sit together, yet when we arrived, all 10 of us fit comfortably in the booth they claimed would only seat 6. The wait was about 45 minutes, and after ordering, it took over an hour for our food to arrive. The entire meal lasted about 2 1/2 hours, causing us to miss our pre-purchased sunset excursion. As for the food, nothing really stood out. My son ordered the filet mignon and couldn't even finish it he said it "sucked" , and we ended up getting Chipotle afterward because he was still hungry. I had the wicked past with shrimp, which I'd give 3 stars if you enjoy spicy food, but it became too spicy for me after a few bites. The fried deviled eggs weren't anything special they still tasted like hard-boiled eggs with bacon and a little Sriracha. The burgers had a nice grilled flavor, but I'm not much of a burger person, so I'll let others judge those. The highlight for me was browsing the gift shop and picking up some goat milk lotion. I'd recommend coming for lunch or with a reservation. Otherwise, the long wait crowded parking lot and average food just weren't worth it.
Phenomenal!!! Definitely 10 stars! I was recommended by several people to visit the local goat when you go to pigeon forge and I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing! I got the shrimp and grits and was not disappointed. The service was very friendly and quick. It was pretty loud in the restaurant but that's to be expected it's a very large restaurant with many guests dinning. Not a big deal though because the food is well worth it. Definitely recommend!
Great food and great service. This was my first trip to Pigeon Forge and a friend suggested this place before I left for my trip. Glad I tried it. Will definitely eat here again next time.
My husband and I went here twice during our vacation. He has a strict dairy allergy, so we appreciated how accommodating they were. Everything is made from scratch and they let us know what could be and couldn't be dairy free. The food taste great too! We tried two burgers and wings, all were delicious and filling. Service and Atmosphere was nice, overall, as well. Our first server was mostly attentive but did seem to forget our waters for awhile. However, that's the only complaint we had. One thing to note is that the parking lot is steep and tight, but we didn't have any issues finding a spot.
Decided to stop here for food. My goodness the food here is amazing. The staff was super friendly & the service was quick. I got the bison meatloaf and it was very flavorful. I got the lunch special portion and it was still enough to have leftovers for later. My husband got the Fettuccine Rocco. He said between the actual meal and the bread that is served with it he wished he had more to eat later since it was so good. Its a bit darker inside the restaurant. We also went on a cloudy ish day though. So that may of been why. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are look for some quality eats.
OMG! My wife and I both ordered the smoke house burger, mine with fries and hers came with mashed sweet potato. We both finished our huge plates, barely! These burgers took us on a trip to flavor town and the sides were also very good! I ordered an IPA with mine that also hit the spot. They have several locally made beers. This place is fantastic! My wife ordered crème brûlée and loved it. They also had a gluten free menu she appreciated.
Local Goat was amazing! It's a busy spot so plan accordingly. Had their burger with port jack cheese and jalapaeños , with fries, ranch and ketchup. Burger was delicious!! Service was prompted even though it was busy. Staff was friendly, definitely a will boost again spot!
Wow--where do I even begin? The Local Goat came up as one of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We were looking for something delicious but also with a fun atmosphere, and this place delivered on both. Our waiter was super friendly and helped us decide on drinks, appetizers, and entrées. We started with the deviled eggs, cheese fondue, and whiskey chicken wings. For our main dishes, we ordered the lamb burger and the BGT burger. I had never tried a tzatziki-style burger before, and wow--it was completely unique and so delicious. Every bite was incredible. My husband and I are huge foodies, and we were visiting from Miami on our honeymoon. We both absolutely loved everything and will definitely be back the next time we're in Pigeon Forge. What really stood out is that so much of the food and sauces are made fresh and locally each day--you can truly taste the difference. Highly recommend!
If you're looking for a nice spot to enjoy a very unique and great meal, please try local goat. I had the lamb burger with tzatziki and a side of sautéed spinach. The burger was amazing. The lamb was a flavor bomb in the tzatziki cream sauce was the perfect fitting for the lamb. The bun was toasted and soft. It was the perfect combination of a burger. This place has some very good variety of burgers from beef to lamb to even bison. The ambience in this place is very nice. It's a good place for a group or just for a date night. The customer service was really nice. We had an amazing server who was able to assist with us making choices on what was recommended to eat. I would definitely try them again if I come back to town.
Local Goat was honestly such a great find while we were in town. It was pretty busy when we got there, but we were seated right away, which was a nice surprise. The place itself was clean and had a really good vibe, and our server was super friendly and attentive. We started with the Bing Bang Boom shrimp, and wow! so good! The flavor was on point. The only thing I could've skipped was the wonton crisps on the side, but that's just personal preference. For my meal, I got the TN whiskey burger and... oh my goodness. That thing was HUGE and packed with flavor. Definitely one of those burgers you keep thinking about after the trip. The fries were great too, crispy and well-seasoned. Overall, easy 10/10. I'd honestly travel back to Tennessee just to eat here again.
Always the best. Believe the hype, you are guaranteed a good meal. Great service, clean tables. You must try.

Went back for the second time after a year and it still is just as good as a year ago! Went early on a Tuesday afternoon and had about 30 minute wait time! Our waiter Caleb was fast to get our drinks and his yummy recommendations! We started with the creamy spinach dip and I really think it was the best I ever had in my entire life! I had the Smokehouse burger with their fries which EVERYTHING is made from scratch even the ketchup! My boyfriend had the Teriyaki filet kabobs with fried rice and steamed broccoli! He also added a side of the pimento cheese grits and they were delicious!!!! My only regret is not getting a ketchup to go with my leftovers!!! Went to Tennessee for a girls trip and this place was on our list of options and honestly was the best place we had all weekend! The inside is huge so don't let the packed parking lot discourage you. We were immediately seated upon walking in. Our server was amazing and swooned one of my friends lol. But the food is what is bringing me back here. Everything we tried was amazing and I went with a group of 5 gals with different taste buds. I had the TN Whiskey Glazed Burger with a side of onion rings and omg. The burger had sooo much flavor and was perfectly cooked to my liking. The onion rings were massive and battered to perfection. Everything came out fairly quickly and was so delicious! After a day on the lake we came with friends for dinner. We all ordered burgers, a TN whiskey burger, a BillyBurger, a Black and Blue burger and a Smokehouse burger. All with fries but two of us had onion ringes, and I had coke slaw. All of us had water. One of us had a funky monkey and I had a four beer sampler. Stopped in one recent Saturday night for dinner with my sister and mother. They were on a 25 minutes wait so we got on the list and fortunately ended up only waiting about 15 minutes before getting the text our table was ready. The place was pretty packed and I'm not sure how many tables our server had but she seemed to be a bit overwhelmed as we would go for long periods of time without seeing her. For starters we went with the Stuffed Piquillo Peppers which came out super quickly after ordering. They were a table favorite - I mean, warm sweet piquillo peppers stuffed with goat cheese and topped with a balsamic glaze a basil you definitely aren't going to go wrong. After this it was almost an hour before our entrees I came out though so I guess we shouldn't have gobbled all the peppers down so quickly. For my entree, I went with the Teriyaki Filet Kabobs. On paper they sounded delicous but instead they were just ok - ordered medium but they came out more medium well and the flavor/marinade was lacking in flavor. After dropping our orders off we didn't see our server again for quite some time and had to chase her down just to get the check. All in all - as a huge goat cheese lover (which many of their menu items feature) I wanted to love The Local Goat but the taste of the entree and lackluster service left much to be desired (even on a Saturday night). read more

Now our favorite. We went twice on our trip. My son didn't stop talking about their chicken tenders. First time we had burgers and they were so good second time my husband had their bison meatloaf which he said was good and I had their steak and their onion rings which were crispy and delicious. If you are looking for good burgers or fresh chicken fingers this is your go to. All fresh made including all their sauces. read more
I tried the filet teriyaki kebab, and it was absolutely delicious! The presentation was deceiving -- it didn't look like much at first, but the flavor was outstanding. The teriyaki filet steak was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor. The rice was seasoned and cooked just right, and while the steamed broccoli wasn't much to write home about. We also had the ribs, which came with a side of cole slaw. The slaw was super fresh and perfectly balanced -- a great palate cleanser alongside the rich bbq ribs. The rack itself was delicious, and honestly, half a rack is plenty for one person unless you're deliberately saving some to take home. When you remember a place after 3 years...it's a must to return. And that's exactly what we did vacationing in the area again. The standout dish this time was their New Orleans BBQ shrimp appetizer (bonus it's gluten free). HOLY AMAZING don't pass this up!!! I could eat the sauce that's on it all day long. So unique, so flavorful, and actually not what you'd expect for a 'bbq' shrimp. I also loved my Farmhouse burger (with a gluten free bun). I skipped the cheese but maybe I'm almost glad I did. The burger itself was SO flavorful...I would have eaten it plain. The toppings were just bonus, including the great bacon. Highly recommend! So glad we stopped here again. Every time we have visited Pigeon Forge, we have driven by the Local Goat. The parking lot is always packed! This trip we decided to brave the line and give it a go. The lobby was full, but with only having 2 in our party, we were able to be seated immediately. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. We really enjoyed the half order of onion rings to get started. We had the Maui Chicken (a big win) and the Shrute Burger (ok, but wouldn't order again). The fries are delicious! Shout out to Shelby who was extremely friendly and took great care of us! read more
Wow! This place rocks. We put our name in for the 35 minute waitlist, but parked our butts at the bar immediately and had dinner there. Bartenders were personable, knowledgeable and made some good recommendations. We had the peanut butter milk stout beer (Jim) and the Magners pear cider beverage (me). Both were excellent recommendations. We ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye dinner (Jim) and the Tavern Steak salad (me). Again both were excellent. We knew we wanted to try the dessert, so we got to go boxes to enjoy leftovers tomorrow. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding (Jim) and the peanut butter pie (me). Another wow for the desserts. One of the best value restaurants in the entirety of the Smokies. Been 7+ times and keep coming back. If you have to get any one thing, get a burger. The tuna burger is the best I've EVER had, but I so desperately wish they hadn't taken the Milton off the menu. The service is good too but the food is so good for the price. read more

Everytime we rode past the Local Goat the parking lot was full so we had to try it out. They opened at 11:00 we arrived a little before 12:00 & they were already busy. We only had to wait 5-10minutes before getting a table. Our server was Kathryn. She's was new & had a great personality & she did an amazing job!!!! The food didn't disappoint!!!! Compliments to the chefs & rest of the staff!!!! We will definitely go back!!!! read more

The reviews and the high rating had us convinced the Goat would be a home run! Instead, this may easily rank as our worst food experience in the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge area. My husband ordered the ribeye, and I ordered the flame-grilled ribeye with onion rings and a baked potato ($38). I ordered the Maui chicken that comes with fried rice and broccoli ($20). We also ordered the cheese fondue as an appetizer ($14). The positives: The cheese fondue was good (although honestly, not as good as Taco Ranch's queso in PF). The negatives: The quality of my husbands ribeye was HORRIBLE. This is the first time in his life that he's returned something he ordered. The waitress gave us the 'everything is locally sourced' speech, but wow, once he cut into that steak, it made his stomach turn. I tried a bit and it was horrendous. I can't stress how bad it was. Not only was it overcooked (he ordered it Medium), but the quality seemed like something you'd pick up at a discount food store. We can honestly say it's the worst steak we've tried. When I finally talked him into saying something, the waitresses response was 'what's wrong with it?' 3 bites were taken and it was removed from our bill. Quality-wise, Applebee's has better steaks. My entree was the Maui Chicken. It was edible, but again, Texas Roadhouse and Outback's chicken breast blows this out of the water. The quality was also worse than Applebee's. My broccoli was undercooked and my rice was crunchy. Skip the Goat. It's overrated and the wait time is too long, even when you call ahead. Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, the Old Mill, Calhoun's, Paula Deen's, and Applebarn are far superior choices. The Local Goat is overpriced and poor quality. Don't be fooled by the photos, once you cut into the steak and chicken, it's a huge disappointment. The ambiance is loud and lackluster. Too many great options in the area to waste your time and money here. read more

There's a reason this place has such great reviews. We had reservations which I highly recommend making because this place is packed pretty much as soon as they open. I am all for keeping local local and what I love about this place is that's exactly what they do. Almost everything is local and made in house every day and it shows. It was all so fresh and so delicious. I am a sauce girly through and through and all of theirs are homemade. The garlic aioli and fire roasted jalapeno ranch were some of my favorites along with the roasted tomato vinaigrette. I don't think there's anything here that won't be good. This spot was really delicious. Went to celebrate a birthday and while they don't do anything special, it was still really nice experience. Service st the bar was spot on. I told the bartender the type of drink I had in mind and she made me a delicious blackberry drop and she got our mule down perfectly, We had to wait 15 minutes for our table and once it was ready I received a text message. The meal was delicious. I can see why this is a popular spot. The bread pudding dessert needs something added, like bananas or pecans. Overall great experience. Parking can get crazy. read more
Wow this was a popular place! Good cold taps and their fried deviled eggs was evil good. My son enjoyed his burger but my poor husband said his blue cheese burger was extremely salty and couldn't eat it. His fries were oily too, I tried them, ick. Meagan our server was amazing and took care of us. 4 stars because I did enjoy what I ordered. I was disappointed though by the oily fries and lack of ambiance. Without the great service from Meagan this would have been 1 star. We came here on Thursday evening to a full parking lot and 1/2 wait. Which is a good sign, after seating in the bar area we ordered some beers. I got a milk stout which was pretty good. I ordered a burger with blue cheese and a side of fries. If you don't know what a salt link imagine the saltiness thing you have ever eaten and there you go. If you know what a salt link is....same thing. In addition the fries were limp and cold. Great local spot. We stopped here for a late dinner and the parking lot was packed, so you know the food has to be good. We were seated right away in like 5 minutes. The server explained to us that everything is made from scratch and majority is locally sourced food not frozen type food off of a truck. Even the ketchup is homemade. We ordered a top shelf margarita and it was delicious. We also ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and the bison burger with fries. Man were they good. The fries are like a shoestring type cut and very crispy. Very clean inside. Server was very helpful when ordering and kept our drinks full. We will be back. read more

Absolutely delicious! Most everything is made in-house from scratch, and you can really taste the quality. The menu has tons of great options, and there are so many beers on draft to choose from. Service was excellent. We had a party of 7 and were seated almost immediately, even though the restaurant was busy. Tons of TVs and a nice bar area. The burgers were especially tasty. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Pigeon Forge! read more

Everything is cooked in the same oil, including SHELLFISH, seafood, fries and even the chips for nachos. I was very disappointed because I couldn't eat anything that I wanted. Kelsey was nice and so was the manager that came to speak with me but when he suggested I put cayenne on my nachos he pissed me off. They both apologized but it came across as demeaning. He said "so I hear you have ALOT of allergies" as if it's something I signed up for. Regardless, cooking ALL fried foods in the same oil is asking for a disaster. I will never return here. read more

The Local Goat's boneless pork chop was an outstanding recommendation by Ronald M. The 10 oz marinated center-cut pork chop was tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, complemented beautifully by the sweet apples and onions. The whipped sweet potatoes added a rich, comforting touch, while the steamed broccoli balanced the meal perfectly. Delightfully delicious from start to finish. The warm, inviting atmosphere and Ronald M's attentive service made the dining experience even more enjoyable. read more

Can I get a salad without pecan if I'm allergic to them?
The owner is a server at the local goat and these people are so willing to give good customer service. Ask them I am sure this should not be a problem they are not willing to assist you with.

We offer happy hour at the bar: $1 off draft beer and $1 off wine by glass daily from 3pm till 6pm.
Do all the buns have sesame seeds? I am allergic and would love to eat here and get a burger. All the pics show sesame seeds.
We do make our kid burger buns without seeds.
Are there capacity restrictions and/or are they trying to keep tables spaced apart?
No, not really. They wore masks and required them when diners were up and about, but table spacing and capacity seemed fairly normal. It's a very open space with high ceilings, though, if that makes any difference to you.
Do they offer takeout/curbside pick up?
NO! I've tried to get carry out multiple times and they always tell me carry out is not available. The restaurant is not very COVID friendly-no carry out, no outdoor seating, indoor seating seems very crowded.
