Stopped in pigeon Forge to see the smoky mountains for two days while trekking to Clarksville. I have never been to the area so I was blown away. It was like a little kid Las Vegas! They literally have every fast food and chain dining experience on one block, but I didn't know that at the time but I'm tired of road trip Food so wanted to sit down for a good meal! Pulling into the parking lot and I was overwhelmed because it was huge and very crowded! We go to the desk and they tell us 25 minutes. This place was huge and very accommodating, they were getting people to their tables fast! We noticed two empty seats at the bar, so we opted to take them and had the pleasure of being served by Robert. He was attentive, made sure our waters were always full. He gave recommendations on his favorite dishes and was all around a great bartender! The guy working the other end of the bar was equally as professional. The ambience is a dark cool vibe, little trendy but people were dressed pretty casually! Answer the most important thing...The food! For an app, we got the beer, cheese fondue that came with apples, bread and pretzels. The beer cheese had a little bit of ooomph to it, which was refreshing because usually I'm not a big mustard person. The pretzel bites were incredible crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The apples were fresh all around the appetizer for 3 to 4 people so we took extra home. I ordered the 10 ounce sirloin cooked, medium with the web sweet potatoes and a side Caesar salad for a three dollar charge which ended up being a full-size salad! It was super fresh and gigantic for a side salad. The steak was cooked perfectly, in the middle with an insane sear. Their house, butter that they put on it truly elevated the flavor profile. I tried the sweet potatoes mashed and they were enjoyable, but I do not enjoy a sweet side with my food so I knew I was going to donate them to my husband and he said they were incredible, the flavor was definitely there just not my cup of tea, but I knew that from the beginning . He got the Caesar salad with grilled chicken! It had so much flavor and tastes incredible but yet melted in your mouth it was the most tender chicken I've ever had in my life, and the flavor was all there! Not even the slightest bit of any kind of dryness. One of the best bites of chicken I've ever had.! He ordered the bison meatloaf to go, and that comes with caramelized mashed potatoes and fried onion straws.... It smells incredible and I will update when we try it . * UPDATE: best meatloaf ever!!! Based on the quality/ experience on a very busy night- everything was phenomenal and I will return. Service 10/5 Food 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Value 5/5
Loved the local goat. There was a wait but we found 2 seats at the bar. Great location and bar staff was outstanding. Lots of restaurants in the area but none compare to this one. Excellent food and service!
Everything was excellent. I got the Sauvignon Blanc, the Salmon with broccoli and a baked potato. I asked for the Teriyaki on my Salmon. It was excellent! The potato was so good with the salty skin butter and sour cream. I shared the side salad with my husband and it was so fresh. He got the steak and fries. He really enjoyed it. We were surprised by the price being so good. Our waitress was so nice! Very helpful in letting us know popular dishes. We will definitely be back!
Local Goat is comparable in size and popularity to Old Mill just down the road both are local favorites that stay busy. Unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. We called hours ahead for a party of 10 since our friends were meeting us from Atlanta while we were visiting from Tampa. We were repeatedly told we couldn't sit together, yet when we arrived, all 10 of us fit comfortably in the booth they claimed would only seat 6. The wait was about 45 minutes, and after ordering, it took over an hour for our food to arrive. The entire meal lasted about 2 1/2 hours, causing us to miss our pre-purchased sunset excursion. As for the food, nothing really stood out. My son ordered the filet mignon and couldn't even finish it he said it "sucked" , and we ended up getting Chipotle afterward because he was still hungry. I had the wicked past with shrimp, which I'd give 3 stars if you enjoy spicy food, but it became too spicy for me after a few bites. The fried deviled eggs weren't anything special they still tasted like hard-boiled eggs with bacon and a little Sriracha. The burgers had a nice grilled flavor, but I'm not much of a burger person, so I'll let others judge those. The highlight for me was browsing the gift shop and picking up some goat milk lotion. I'd recommend coming for lunch or with a reservation. Otherwise, the long wait crowded parking lot and average food just weren't worth it.
Phenomenal!!! Definitely 10 stars! I was recommended by several people to visit the local goat when you go to pigeon forge and I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing! I got the shrimp and grits and was not disappointed. The service was very friendly and quick. It was pretty loud in the restaurant but that's to be expected it's a very large restaurant with many guests dinning. Not a big deal though because the food is well worth it. Definitely recommend!
Great food and great service. This was my first trip to Pigeon Forge and a friend suggested this place before I left for my trip. Glad I tried it. Will definitely eat here again next time.
My husband and I went here twice during our vacation. He has a strict dairy allergy, so we appreciated how accommodating they were. Everything is made from scratch and they let us know what could be and couldn't be dairy free. The food taste great too! We tried two burgers and wings, all were delicious and filling. Service and Atmosphere was nice, overall, as well. Our first server was mostly attentive but did seem to forget our waters for awhile. However, that's the only complaint we had. One thing to note is that the parking lot is steep and tight, but we didn't have any issues finding a spot.
Decided to stop here for food. My goodness the food here is amazing. The staff was super friendly & the service was quick. I got the bison meatloaf and it was very flavorful. I got the lunch special portion and it was still enough to have leftovers for later. My husband got the Fettuccine Rocco. He said between the actual meal and the bread that is served with it he wished he had more to eat later since it was so good. Its a bit darker inside the restaurant. We also went on a cloudy ish day though. So that may of been why. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are look for some quality eats.
OMG! My wife and I both ordered the smoke house burger, mine with fries and hers came with mashed sweet potato. We both finished our huge plates, barely! These burgers took us on a trip to flavor town and the sides were also very good! I ordered an IPA with mine that also hit the spot. They have several locally made beers. This place is fantastic! My wife ordered crème brûlée and loved it. They also had a gluten free menu she appreciated.
Wow--where do I even begin? The Local Goat came up as one of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We were looking for something delicious but also with a fun atmosphere, and this place delivered on both. Our waiter was super friendly and helped us decide on drinks, appetizers, and entrées. We started with the deviled eggs, cheese fondue, and whiskey chicken wings. For our main dishes, we ordered the lamb burger and the BGT burger. I had never tried a tzatziki-style burger before, and wow--it was completely unique and so delicious. Every bite was incredible. My husband and I are huge foodies, and we were visiting from Miami on our honeymoon. We both absolutely loved everything and will definitely be back the next time we're in Pigeon Forge. What really stood out is that so much of the food and sauces are made fresh and locally each day--you can truly taste the difference. Highly recommend!
Local Goat was amazing! It's a busy spot so plan accordingly. Had their burger with port jack cheese and jalapaeños , with fries, ranch and ketchup. Burger was delicious!! Service was prompted even though it was busy. Staff was friendly, definitely a will boost again spot!
If you're looking for a nice spot to enjoy a very unique and great meal, please try local goat. I had the lamb burger with tzatziki and a side of sautéed spinach. The burger was amazing. The lamb was a flavor bomb in the tzatziki cream sauce was the perfect fitting for the lamb. The bun was toasted and soft. It was the perfect combination of a burger. This place has some very good variety of burgers from beef to lamb to even bison. The ambience in this place is very nice. It's a good place for a group or just for a date night. The customer service was really nice. We had an amazing server who was able to assist with us making choices on what was recommended to eat. I would definitely try them again if I come back to town.
Local Goat was honestly such a great find while we were in town. It was pretty busy when we got there, but we were seated right away, which was a nice surprise. The place itself was clean and had a really good vibe, and our server was super friendly and attentive. We started with the Bing Bang Boom shrimp, and wow! so good! The flavor was on point. The only thing I could've skipped was the wonton crisps on the side, but that's just personal preference. For my meal, I got the TN whiskey burger and... oh my goodness. That thing was HUGE and packed with flavor. Definitely one of those burgers you keep thinking about after the trip. The fries were great too, crispy and well-seasoned. Overall, easy 10/10. I'd honestly travel back to Tennessee just to eat here again.

The deep fried deviled eggs have a perfect balance of flavors especially the little dap of siracha on top. I tried the Tennessee whiskey glazed wings grilled; the sauce was really special. read more

The service is amazing - the food is freaking amazing and they will accommodate your alterations. I asked for the autumn salad which typically comes with chicken and goat cheese and I asked for salmon and feta instead and it was wonderful. This salmon was cooked so perfectly it was insane. Everyone loved their meals at my table. How the heck do they have such insanely good quality food and service for a restaurant this big when making everything from scratch?! I'm so impressed and I don't know that I can risk trying any other restaurants in town now. I understand why the parking lot is always packed now. read more
Yum! Ok apparently they make 90% of everything in house. And it shows. Ordered the 10 oz sirloin with a baked potato and sautéed spinach. Oof that steak was cooked to perfection. The spinach was a little too salty and had too much butter for me, but still so flavorful. I got the peanut butter pie to go and ate it later. Super rich and very fudgey on top. The Local Goat has excellent food you can't really get anywhere else. We're from around and hour away and we go here anytime we get a chance. It's ALWAYS packed and there's usually a long wait unless you hit it at odd times, which we always do. The crab cake BLT is amazing. It's a good atmosphere. What a great place to stop!!! Eat local, literally as this place makes everything themselves from local sustainable farms. The deep fried deviled eggs were so good. The added texture of the egg being deep fried and the crunch of the bacon on top was so good. All of our burgers were cooked to perfection with the freshest toppings. Was nice to be seated immediately with fast service not just in getting our drinks but also the food. Calming atmosphere after spending all day in the sun was just what we needed. Check this place out. You can't beat the prices or the flavor anywhere else! read more
Came here for my husbands bday and really enjoyed it. The ribs and grits were phenomenal. Espresso martinis were Crème brûlée was great. Very fast food delivery, Staff was polite and personable. Quiet environment, lots of space. We will definitely be back. read more
This place is AMAZING. Easy 6 stars for food and service. I've had dozens of Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches, including a few in Nashville and NONE even come close to what the Local Goat serves. There fresh handmade pasta dishes are next level too. Our server (Travis?) said he'd only been there a few weeks but was friendly, attentive, and had expert knowledge of the menu. Fantastic experience and will be the first place we eat at next time we are in Pigeon Forge. A MUST vist! read more

Very disappointed. Reviews online were very high, so made a reservation for my wife and I for our anniversary while in town. Even with a reservation, there was a short wait, but not bad. After being seated, we started with the beer cheese fondue plate. The fondue was salty and the apples & bread for dipping did not taste fresh (tasted like factory baked and cut with preservatives). Then we moved onto our salads. My wife's Caesar looked great and she enjoyed it. However my house salad looked like it came from commercially bagged sad mix. I found some rotten bits in it. Server swore they cut it in house but it sure didn't look like it. Next to the entrees. My wife said enjoyed her ribeye, but the fries on both our entrees were horrible - overly cooked but not even crispy - just cold and greasy. I got the smokehouse burger well. The burger itself was good, but the bacon was undercooked. I'm sure it was safe considering the curing agents, but one would expect a well done burger to at least come with bacon that doesn't have white, unrendered fatty parts. Finally, decided to try a chocolate lava cake. Clearly it wasn't freshly baked. The outside wasn't crusty as one would expect out of the oven and the inside was stodgy. It was also barely above room temperature...certainly no flowing lava and wouldn't even melt the ice cream. Dominos lava cake is 10x better. Five guys burger is better and definitely their fries. Also the prices are steep. So that sort of added insult to injury. The service was good and food was served relatively quickly, but I can't help but wonder how much of this was made ahead and just warmed up to serve. For the money I'd recommend going elsewhere. We had a meal at Aubrey's and it was waaay better. read more

This place offers lots of opportunities for seating and can accommodate big groups. They also offer a full bar. The staff was always hustling and super friendly. The menu has lots of options to choose from. Pork chops, fish and chips, burgers and more. The spicy chicken sandwich was excellent. Just the right amount of heat and sweet. This was a good spot to try while they were not super busy. I don't think it will disappoint. read more

Food: Fried deviled eggs, BBQ shrimp for appetizer was delicious. If I'm nitpicking, the deviled could have had a bit of sugar and touch of salt, but I appreciated the plating of both dishes. I had the Fettuccini Rocco. That was really good! I certainly could not eat it all. There are some good onions, tomatoes, and spinach in there. My family enjoyed their dishes as well. Service: Our waiter was wonderful! Attentive, and was knowledgeable about the menu. Ambiance: Great spot for families, Gives a sports bar feel, but maybe a bit more upscale. read more

Visiting Pigeon Forge for spring break with the kiddos. Went here based on literally EVERY locals recommendation. Lyft driver, hotel check in guy, waiters at other establishments, basically every local you ask will point you to local goat so of course we had to go. Happy to say we were not disappointed! When we got there obviously every tourist was told to come here because the place was packed!!! We were told it would be a 30-45 min wait which turned out to be more like 20 mins! Our waitress Kate was amazing! Service is not lacking in Pigeon Forge I guess it being a tourist town and all! Anyway back to local goat...got the steak nachos. 4/5 - steak was nice and tender but I'm used to warm tortilla chips and hot cheese which these were lacking. I got the Billy burger with bacon. Cooked to perfection but no seasoning whatsoever. Fries were ok. Son had the TN glazed burger which he thoroughly enjoyed, daughter the patriot which she loved and other son the fettuccine Rocco which was just ok. Everything was cooked to perfection but no seasoning. The St Kitts rum punch was pretty good. Food came out really fast. Sat in the bar area so not sure how the rest of the restaurant looked like but it seemed spacious. read more

Been here a couple of times before, and I'm never disappointed. My husband and I ordered the TN Whiskey burger, onion rings , and fried green tomatoes to share today. The TN whiskey burger had a TN whiskey glaze, smoked bacon, crispy onions, and garlic aioli. It was huge and so yummy!! The burgers are served with house-made shoestring fries, that are some of the best I've ever tasted. The onion rings were bigger than any I'ld ever seen served at a restaurant. The 1/2 order was plenty for us, and they were cooked to perfection! The fried green tomatoes were also a great choice of appetizers. They were sooooooo good, topped with goat cheese, bacon jam, and caramelized onions. I would recommend getting just what we ordered, because you'll really like those things too. But, in all seriousness, you can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pigeon Forge, and it must be many others favorite, because the parking lot is always full. If it takes a while to be seated, it's totally worth the wait! And, if you have to wait, I suggest getting their "Signature" Bloody Mary, especially if it's late morning early afternoon when you dine. It's really good too! read more

We have been waiting to come for years and finally made it! Tried the chicken nachos, I would give them a 5 out of 10. They were ok, but definitely nothing special. We both got burgers, she ordered Tn Whisky Burger and I ordered black & blue. Great burgers ! 10 out of 10! The little shoestring fries are piled high and great! It's not a joke when I say this is one of the BEST restaurants I have EVER been to in my 47 years on this earth. Recommended by my beautiful wife who's actually been there before. The service, amazing!!! My server Jennifer T was absolutely awesome! She had recommendations and all of them were great!! The food, man look here!!! EVERYTHING that I ordered was absolutely delicious!!!! The vibe, even though it was very busy, was great. I'm an Army Veteran who's been to a lot of restaurants: I don't have a problem saying this was one of the top 5 restaurants I've EVER been to. This is a permanent spot EVERY TIME we come to Pigeon Forge. The only thing bad is that I couldn't tell the manager. But I know they were busy!!! Great job, Local Goat! GREAT JOB! read more

Can I get a salad without pecan if I'm allergic to them?
The owner is a server at the local goat and these people are so willing to give good customer service. Ask them I am sure this should not be a problem they are not willing to assist you with.

We offer happy hour at the bar: $1 off draft beer and $1 off wine by glass daily from 3pm till 6pm.
Do all the buns have sesame seeds? I am allergic and would love to eat here and get a burger. All the pics show sesame seeds.
We do make our kid burger buns without seeds.
Are there capacity restrictions and/or are they trying to keep tables spaced apart?
No, not really. They wore masks and required them when diners were up and about, but table spacing and capacity seemed fairly normal. It's a very open space with high ceilings, though, if that makes any difference to you.
Do they offer takeout/curbside pick up?
NO! I've tried to get carry out multiple times and they always tell me carry out is not available. The restaurant is not very COVID friendly-no carry out, no outdoor seating, indoor seating seems very crowded.
