Such a cool vibe...Corn dogs were a "tasty" treat Samuel Jackson would scarf... Friendly.Beer of the day was refreshing. Someone referred to this as a Dive Bar. Clearly that person hasn't been to a Dive Bar in North Idaho! Tunes were full-on. Ya'll gonna be satisfied fer sure...

Finally made it to Olaf's for a drink and a burger with tots. The burger and tots were well seasoned. I was so hungry that I failed to take a pic. I'd come back for more tots and to try the Philly Cheesesteak and Chicken sandwich. Both looked really good.

We came here last night for my friend's 50th birthday celebration. It was held thru the anatomically correct vagina doorway, it gives a new meaning to "hole in the wall". The room itself was a throw back to the '50s '60s rat pack days. Plush red booths lined the room with tables and stools. The room also had a projection system. And there were velvet paintings of very voluptuous, naked ladies on the walls. It was a really cool, intimate room. Olaf's provided some pub grub for the party like sliders, veggies with dip, tater tots, and salad. All were decent enough and we had one server for the party, Cheeto (yup, that's his name), and he did an awesome job with the group!!! Opposite to the room was an area with pinball machines, too. Olaf's is a cool, neighborhood spot to grab a beer (or two), eat some pub grub, and watch the game. If this was in my hood, I'd be a regular... (even just to gaze at the vag doorway)

A 10 top joint, this place is small, however there is a patio outside that also shares with another restaurant so that during the summer addition seating is available. We walked up to the counter and were pleasantly greeted by a young lady who took our order. My father ordered a bacon cheeseburger and I ordered the pastrami burger which was a cheeseburger with pastrami also on it. We also ordered onion rings and the Greek fries to share. We both had chocolate shakes. The food came out quickly, probably 10 mins or so. The shakes are hand done and mixed to order. DELICIOUS! Both of our burgers were juicy and delicious. All burgers have lettuce, onion, pickle and tomato. Several versions of burgers, sandwiches and salads available. The rings were to me perfect, well cooked and great breading. The Greek fries were also delicious, however, HEAVY GARLIC. Just be aware that your Vampire boyfriend will be repelled for hours!! I look forward to trying some of their other options the next time.

The rather unassuming facade does not do the place justice. As a solo diner they were super nice and accommodating. I moved from the lounge to the dining room - they accommodated. The ceviche was authentic and beautifully presented. I chatted with server Manny all about his home country and traveling. And, Sophia deserves mention for being extra nice, and even sensing that the dessert would be too sweet for me by bringing out a pre-bite, and she was correct. She kindly removed it from my check. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Give it a try!

Someone came up to us immediately and politely asked us to wait a few minutes for them to set up the table for us. As we were waiting, someone else showed up to take our drink orders. As soon as she took our order, our table was ready. Very systematic and phenomenal service! This is within the first 5 min of being there! The building seemed a bit old and there was a rustic vibe to it. It's not very big and a bit intimate. I wouldn't say it's really designed for groups bigger than 4. Our food came out at a reasonable time after ordering. We had ordered the Arcade square pie with mushrooms, the Lord General square pie, and a Sunny Smash Burger with cheese. Hot honey on the side. Arcade - wanted to keep it somewhat simple with this one so I can get a general understanding of their pizzas. It was loaded with toppings. A bit too much, but I believe it's because of the added mushrooms. The dough was slightly too chewy. I tried it with and without hot honey. I preferred it without. The pizza had too much going on. The flavors were there, but it was a bit heavy. Lord General - this pizza was much better. The flavors were more balanced. It was lighter on the toppings, making it easier to eat with the dough. The sausage and soppressata were a very good combo. They compliment each other very well. Sunny Smash Burger - this burger was very solid. Although it's a smash burger, it's pretty big. The toppings were simple and delicious. The onions was definitely the star of the show. It was heavy on the pickles. A bit too much for my liking, but would be great for pickle lovers. This is great alternative for people who don't want a pizza. Overall it was a great first experience. My only regret is not getting a round pizza to taste the crust. The groups around us all had round pizza and it looked amazing. I'll have to try it next time.

The salads are solid too, though I'm still mourning the loss of the green salad. Bring it back, please! Now, the staff for the most part, they are the heart and soul of this place. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely a reason I keep walking through that door. So it genuinely pains me to say that there is one staff member who gives off a deeply uncomfortable energy. We're talking lingering stares, a passive-aggressive undertone that's hard to ignore, and an overall ick factor that follows you through your entire meal. It's an unsettling contrast to the warmth of everyone else on the team and honestly, that contrast makes it stand out even more. Look, the location is convenient, the food slaps, and 95% of the staff deserves a raise and so yes, I'll keep coming back. And, keep putting up with the passive-aggressive woman. But Sunny Hill, if you're reading this, a little check-in with your full team could go a long way toward making this place absolutely flawless.

You know it's good when you pull up the establishment and they have not only a long line, but also a paper dictating what is sold out, which they update on a 10-15 minute interval. Waiting in line is the most time consuming part of this experience, as we probably waited 20-30 minutes to get to the front to place our order - which is good sign! You can definitely formulate what meats and sides you want as you get closer to the front. Parking for the restaurant is a bit difficult, I think the only options we found while visiting was streetside, and we were fortunate to find a spot only a block away. I could totally see it being impossible to find parking when it gets really busy in the area. Once you get your food, there is plenty of seating, from high tops, to booths, to tables, to outdoor seating with a fire pit. We got a good variety of items, which I'll review a couple down below: Brisket: A good brisket with a nice visible smoke ring. Similar to the pork belly, you can tell the skill of a barbecue restaurant from how their brisket is, and this brisket is delicious! Really meaty and pleasant smoke flavor. I think we did get a leaner cut of brisket as there wasn't as much fat to help with the leanness. Beef Cheek: A delicious cut of meat that melts in the mouth, and has a pleasant smokey flavor. Out of the three cuts of meat, this one was unfortunately salted the heaviest. The first couple of bites are delicious and really delicious, but it goes really overwhelming the more you eat it. If you order this, definitely get some sides to help. Pomegrante Pork Belly: A solid BBQ pork belly that has a pleasing fatty crust with a meaty interior. This is what I would consider a good baseline for a reputable barbecue restaurant. It is advertised as pomegrante pork belly, but I unfortunately wasn't able to taste any flavor of pomengrate - maybe a tiny bit in the glaze/bark but that could just be attributed to the sugar. Mac and Cheese: A pretty comforting side! bechamel sauce is really creamy and fully coats each noodle. The noodles were at the sweet spot of soft and having enough integrity to hold their shape. Cherry and Rhubarb Cobbler: Wow, this is an amazing dessert! I haven't had a cobbler where they added cardamom to the crust before, and I think it works spectacularly. The cardamom gives a nice floral taste to the crust, which is complemented by the tart and fruity filling. I think this is one of the better if not best desserts I've had a barbecue shop, and the small tweaks made were creative and delicious! In the end, I think we paid about $100 for everything you see here. Having been to a couple of BBQ places, I would say that it is pretty standard pricing. Good BBQ does take a lot of effort and it does come at a premium. Outsider BBQ is absolutely delicious - if you are looking to get some comforting food, they definitely have you covered. I would totally revisit to try their items that got sold out (missed the beef cheeks, need to try those!) the time we visited!
