Such a cool vibe...Corn dogs were a "tasty" treat Samuel Jackson would scarf... Friendly.Beer of the day was refreshing. Someone referred to this as a Dive Bar. Clearly that person hasn't been to a Dive Bar in North Idaho! Tunes were full-on. Ya'll gonna be satisfied fer sure...

Finally made it to Olaf's for a drink and a burger with tots. The burger and tots were well seasoned. I was so hungry that I failed to take a pic. I'd come back for more tots and to try the Philly Cheesesteak and Chicken sandwich. Both looked really good.

Pup-friendly pub

Pup-friendly neighborhood pub. Bartender brought over a container of treats while we enjoyed our drinks. Thanks!

We came here last night for my friend's 50th birthday celebration. It was held thru the anatomically correct vagina doorway, it gives a new meaning to "hole in the wall". The room itself was a throw back to the '50s '60s rat pack days. Plush red booths lined the room with tables and stools. The room also had a projection system. And there were velvet paintings of very voluptuous, naked ladies on the walls. It was a really cool, intimate room. Olaf's provided some pub grub for the party like sliders, veggies with dip, tater tots, and salad. All were decent enough and we had one server for the party, Cheeto (yup, that's his name), and he did an awesome job with the group!!! Opposite to the room was an area with pinball machines, too. Olaf's is a cool, neighborhood spot to grab a beer (or two), eat some pub grub, and watch the game. If this was in my hood, I'd be a regular... (even just to gaze at the vag doorway)

It was light with a subtle hoppy taste. I am not much of a beer drinker so I found this easy to drink. It had a nice crisp aftertaste. While talking to the bartender, he informed us that they distilled a couple liquors in the back. The whiskey that they had was easy to drink, sweet and went down smooth. The moon shine is only aged for a year from what I remember. They mix it in with fruit and distill it afterwards. I liked how to apple pie moon shine still retained the taste of alcohol but had a subtle taste of cinnamon and vanilla as well. If you get a chance to come during the day, you can visit their showroom as well. If you like the alcohol, they sell it by the bottle too.

Came in for an old fashioned made from Batch 206 Distillery's 3 year aged bourbon and it was delicious. Bonus?? They are connected to Windy City Pie which happens to be some of the cities best pizza still flying under the radar somehow. Came in around 8pm on a Thursday night and there was a decent crowd - still able to get a seat easily. They offer a great variety of their own distilled spirits as well as a fantastic selection of other local distilleries spirits made in Seattle too. Craft cocktails, tasting flights, what else do you need?! Local beers on tap to boot (it's super close to Holy Mountain Brewery so you can always count on something on tap from them!) Looking forward to coming back here soon.

The rather unassuming facade does not do the place justice. As a solo diner they were super nice and accommodating. I moved from the lounge to the dining room - they accommodated. My drink made by the uber accommodating bartender, Cameron, was switched out twice. Once because they forgot the booze, and again because it was too sweet for me. The ceviche was authentic and beautifully presented. I chatted with server Manny all about his home country and traveling. And, Sophia deserves mention for being extra nice, and even sensing that the dessert would be too sweet for me by bringing out a pre-bite, and she was correct. She kindly removed it from my check. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Give it a try!

It's a Peruvian restaurant with a very plain outside and dim lighting on the inside. The service was great, they were attentive. I unfortunately felt like the food and plating were really mediocre. We noted that the plates looked like plates you would find in a college dining hall. - Causa Acevichada: 5/5, really enjoyed the sauce. The rockfish tasted fresh! - Seco Limeno de Pollo: 3.5/5, the salsa was not as flavorful as I had hoped for. - Budin: 2/5, this was dry and small. I was really disappointed with this dessert. I enjoy that they had a menu for SRW; I would give them another try outside of SRW.

You…read morewant a classic cocktail? something fancy? unique? expertly crafted by a bartender/owner who clearly has a passion for his craft? check, check, and check. I stumbled across this hidden gem one day after my dentist appointment had been double-booked (they share a parking lot), and now it's one of my top 3 favorite places in Seattle. As far as bartenders go, Gary (who is also the owner) is a savant when it comes to the art of mixology. Sometimes I just tell him what spirit I'm in the mood for, what flavors I like, and a minute later, I have a masterfully crafted cocktail in front of me I didn't even know I needed in my life. I'll bring my wife when we're in town, who likes the Vodka/soda, Margarita, and occasional Cosmo, and even she says those classics are the best she's had. Me? I like to indulge in the experience of tasting the rotating menu of seasonal and local flavors that are so expertly combined with top-shelf spirits to create a perfectly palate-pleasing fusion. But Barrel and Bacon doesn't end with drinks; we've eaten our way through their afternoon and brunch menu as well. When I think Gastropub, I think Smash burgers, lattice fries, maybe a pub style fish and chips. B&B? Nope! Their food is just as unique and delicious as their beverages. There's a combination of traditional, approachable dishes with a stated presence of Asian influence throughout their culinary offerings. It seems like everything on the food menu was carefully thought out to perfectly complement the liquid offerings. I love this place. Whenever I pick up friends or colleagues up from the airport, this is usually our first stop on the way back to the hotel or home. It's a perfect introduction to NW hospitality, while creating the perfect ambience for both leisure and relaxation. No pretentiousness, no attitude, no pressure; just good drinks, good food, and good people.

We visited the Friday after Thanksgiving and arrived around 5 PM, hoping to beat the crowds--and luckily, we did. The restaurant was still fairly calm before the evening rush arrived. We had hoped to take advantage of Chinook's Happy Hour, but learned that the Happy Hour menu is only available at the bar, not at dining tables. Since we wanted an easy, relaxed conversation, we decided to stay seated at our table instead. Our server, Marilyn A, seemed a bit frazzled, likely because she had several tables to manage at once, but she was clearly trying her best to keep up and serve everyone promptly. We started with fresh Kumamoto and Totten Inlet oysters, which were delicious--clean, briny, and very fresh. For our entrées we ordered the wild salmon burger, salmon and chips, and the classic Caesar salad. All were enjoyable and satisfying choices, especially if you're in the mood for simple, well-prepared seafood. We skipped dessert since we had just returned from Leavenworth and had fresh sugar and gingerbread cookies waiting for us at home--a sweet ending we were already looking forward to. Overall, it was a pleasant early evening seafood dinner and a nice, relaxed way to wrap up the day.

We asked the oysters to arrive first and then the calamari, which were both before our main entrees. The server delivered exactly on the order and we really appreciated it. The ambiance easily is one of the most unique views in the city, I would say. Overlooking the rows of harbored boats, there does not exist many restaurants that can rival the ambiance here. Also, pretty much every seat in the house has the same view, so you really can't go wrong if you wanted to impress someone here. We went for lunch, but anytime of the day really works here. I've been here for a quick drinks at the bars too, which is also fun. All around the most well kept secret gem in all of Seattle!
