Another visit, more delicious food and great service. We really feel like this location is a hidden gem in Columbus. Weve never had a bad experience here and the food is always enjoyable!

Very quick to be attended to! They were just setting up outside all of their Christmas decorations and inside is very cool having all different people born in Ohio on the walls. Came just for drinks this time, and got 5 different beers brewed by them. The Christmas ale was extremely good with lots of spices, their Czech Pils was great, and their stout/porter they had was pretty good as well - a bit thick/syrupy but had good flavor throughout the sip. Definitely a place worth checking out and looking around at inside!

We loved it here! Great venue off the beaten path. Great beer, very drinkable, kind customer service with yummy food.

A tall, transparent glass filled with beer featuring a foamy head is positioned on a coaster on a wooden table. The background shows the interior of Ohio Brewing, including a bar area with bottles, a bartender, and festive decorations such as garlands and a large ribbon bow. The setting appears to be a casual brewery and restaurant environment.

Certified Seger Bar I frequent this bar multiple times a week. Great in house drafts. Their hazy IPA is great. Good seasonal selection as well. The food is great. Chef does well crafting his menu. If the beer and food didn't sell you, the service will. Everyone that works here is happy to serve you.

My friend chose this place for dinner. It was a Monday night so it wasn't all that busy. Tons of parking spaces open. It's a large place! Tons of seating and TVs to catch the baseball and basketball games. Service was slow. Maybe because they weren't busy? Our server hardly came by to check on us so it took a while to get our drinks and even to get our check. We shared the pretzel sticks with cheese. Delicious! For entrees I got the Reuben while my friends got the carnitas tacos and shrimp po boy. Decent. They forgot to add the sauce to my Reuben so it wasn't great. Lacking flavorful. Kinda disappointing. I did like the drinks, the homemade chips, and the space overall. It's very Ohio-themed. See if you can spot Brutus upside down.

The image shows a detailed mural painted on a brick wall, featuring Ohio Brewing Company branding. The mural includes a stylized Ohio flag, a chicken, a beer mascot holding a beer, and various decorative elements like leaves and branches. The artwork is vibrant and detailed, covering a large portion of the wall, with a sign at the bottom requesting not to toss or throw balls.

Really good brunch today. I loved the yogurt bar with fruit and granola and the breakfast potatoes were really good!

This venue is spacious and features a fantastic patio. It is situated between an industrial area and a gentrifying neighborhood, offering better-than-expected location and views. There's a wonderful patio outside with some shade, but it was hot enough that we opted to stay inside. The venue has a great bar, high-tops, low-tops, and plenty of seating. The service is top-notch, making you feel valued and well taken care of. It's even kid-friendly; we saw several other kids, and the server was attentive to their needs, which was much appreciated. We really enjoy this place. We've tried the Shrimp Po Boy, which is loaded with Grilled Gulf shrimp, spicy remoulade, shaved green cabbage slaw, and roasted tomato on a harvest bun. We also had the MUSHROOM & SWISS BURGER, which consists of two 3-oz Ohio beef patties topped with Swiss cheese and bacon, served on a toasted brioche bun (I requested it without the cheese). Another dish we enjoyed was the BREU-BENOBC, which is Pitchback Session IPA-braised corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese dressed with 1000-Island and served on rye bread. Everything we've tried here has been excellent. They have 12 of their beers on tap, but we tend to favor the Lulet and the President Pilsner. There are plenty of TVs showing sports. It can get loud and probably raucous when crowded (we went right after they opened on a Friday, and it was slow but picking up). It's definitely an excellent place to have a beer, some food, and maybe watch a game. Bring your family or your friends.

My experience: good food (with several tantalizing menu and off-menu options), better beer, even better service, exceptional Ohio-themed interior and convenient parking. Sign me up! (Actually, I signed myself up to their loyalty program after this visit.)

Outside - The image shows a landscaped area within a parking lot, including a pig statue on a small bed of mulch, a metal arch structure with climbing plants, and various shrubs and flowers. In the background, there is a building with a black metal awning, parked cars, and utility poles under a cloudy sky. The scene appears to be part of a commercial or public space with decorative landscaping.

OBC probably has the coolest aesthetics out of any brewery I've been to in town. It starts on the exterior, with a bull statue on the roundabout entrance. Inside, they have decor and artwork floor to ceiling, with industrial yet rustic vibes. Happy hour specials are Monday through Thursday with $1 off pints, $2 off flights (five 5oz pours). The flights are served on a wooden Ohio board which fits the name and feel of the place. They also have a wide menu, centered around pizza and flatbreads, but don't sleep on the burgers and sandwiches.

I like it. I want to come back. It feels a little out of the way from the other places you might hang out. I don't imagine I'll be walking here from anywhere. But drive over or get an uber. There's plenty of places you hang out within a mile of here. It's worth the trip. I tried 5 beers and liked 3 of them, which is pretty good! Flights are generous pours, but costs $14.50. Decent food options, but I didn't try anything. Apps, sandwiches, pizza, and flatbreads. Happy hour specials daily, but I didn't inquire, because I just needed to try a flight to find what I liked. The best thing about the place by far is the decor and the space in general. It's a former train station and post office turned box factory turned brewery. What a great building!! Hidden gem. The company has had a brewery out of the Cleveland area for over 20 years. They made the right choice opening up a space here in Columbus! I look forward to coming back and getting an IPA again.

    Carnitas Tacos

My friend and I checked out Ohio Brewing Columbus for dinner and drinks. This was our first time visiting. The restaurant has plenty of parking spots. They also have a large outdoor dining section. When we arrived there were many open tables. The host greeted us and walked us to our table. The decor in the restaurant was unique, including a prop plane flown by Brutus. Starting off we ordered a couple of beers from their offerings. I got a Nitro Stout. It tasted good with a little bitterness. We also got chips with Beer cheese. The chips were crisp and paired well with the smooth cheese. For my entree I opted for the carnitas tacos. The carnitas tasted great, but the slaw made the tacos a little watery. Overall everything was good at Ohio Brewing Columbus. The price of the items is the only thing from going with a perfect score. I may visit again if they have any good happy hour specials. Their brunch offerings also interested me.

Sad deviled eggs. - Three halved boiled eggs topped with small pieces of bacon are placed on a bed of mixed greens, including lettuce and other leafy greens, on a white rectangular plate. The plate is set on a wooden surface, and the eggs are arranged in a line with the greens surrounding them.

We found ourselves here in a sudden thunderstorm. Great way to wait out the rain! Really great decor - Ohio-natives who made it famous pictured throughout plus lots of other items. Who knew how many famous people hailed from Ohio? Interesting beer - I tried a Belgian wit and it was so good. Sadly, I can't recommend the deviled eggs. They were just sad. Looked mass produced or something. The pizza was meh. Crust was thick and soft, no crisp. Toppings lacked flavor. Burgers that others ordered looked good with generous stack of fries or onion rings.

    Amazing space

This is another instance where I wish I could do half stars. 3 doesn't seem like enough but 4 seems like too much. It's really a 3.5 This was our first time in. The building is super awesome. The decor and the murals and the space. All very cool. They were really busy and got our food and drinks out pretty quickly. Everything was ok. The beers were ok. The drinks were ok. The food was ok. I got the Reuben. It was decent. The beer cheese and chips were delicious. The beer cheese was great. My husband got the Cuban and enjoyed it. It's pretty pricey for what you get. My Reuben was $16.50 and it was a $2 up charge for fries that I didn't realize til I got the bill. Yep friends got the carnitas flatbread and it has also no meat on it. I dunno. Maybe we will try it again another time.

    Grab and go house beers.

A Late Lunch at The Brown Bag Deli - German Village…read more Tucked away on Mohawk Street in historic German Village, The Brown Bag Deli is the kind of place that feels both casual and quirky the moment you step inside. The walls are painted like blackboards, with the menu handwritten in chalk, giving the space a friendly, eclectic charm. It's the kind of spot that invites you to slow down and savor a sandwich that's been carefully thought through. As a former chef, I tend to pay attention to the details--flavor balance, texture, presentation--and our late lunch at Brown Bag had plenty of those little moments worth noticing. My Sandwich - The #1 on Ten Grain I went with the #1: roast turkey, house-made coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing, all stacked on hearty nine-grain bread, grilled and served warm. True to the deli's name, it arrived wrapped in paper and tucked into a simple brown bag, accompanied by a crisp kosher dill pickle. The turkey had a gentle smoky undertone that stood out nicely against the slightly melted Swiss. The coleslaw was rough-cut, lightly dressed, and added a crunchy, fresh contrast to the rich Russian dressing. At $14.25 a la carte, the sandwich was generous in portion and satisfying, but I found myself thinking this would be the perfect sandwich to split--especially if you're also adding sides. I paired mine with Molly's macaroni salad. It had all the right components--peppers, onion, celery, chopped egg--but for my taste it leaned a little dry. A touch more creaminess could have taken it from "good" to "great." My Wife's Choice - The #16 Classic Club Candi went for the #16 Classic Club: roast turkey, thick-cut bacon, lettuce, tomato, and herb mayo on sourdough. At $14.50, it was every bit the traditional stacked deli club, with layers of flavor you expect. She gave it the thumbs-up. Like mine, her sandwich was served with a pickle, and she added a side of broccoli salad. Flavor-wise, it had promise, but it could have used a bit more seasoning to brighten things up. We also shared a bag of rosemary and garlic kettle chips--crunchy, flavorful, and a good complement to the sandwiches. Price vs. Value Our lunch came to $42.50 before tip, which pushed the total to nearly $50 for two sandwiches, two small sides, and one bag of chips. As someone who's worked in kitchens, I understand the rising cost of ingredients and the challenge of keeping margins while delivering quality. That said, I couldn't help but feel that for the price point, a sandwich should come with a side included. It would make the value match the taste. Final Thoughts The sandwiches were definitely the highlight--thoughtful combinations, good quality ingredients, and prepared with care. Would I go back? Absolutely. But next time, I'll likely split a sandwich, skip the sides, and leave room for dessert--the display case looked tempting. The Brown Bag Deli is a German Village staple for a reason: it's straightforward, unpretentious, and delivers on flavor. Just be prepared for prices that lean higher than your average deli stop. Until next time, I'm Brian -- and remember to Take the Trip! (And maybe the dessert next time, too...)

They were as solid as always, but there's some things I have to note: Frenchi himself always made our sandwiches to perfection. Toasted, hot, perfectly made. The two times we had another employee make them, they are just different. Same ingredients, but different ratios maybe? Today my husbands Eiffel came super toasty and meats/cheese heated up in a microwave (or toaster oven maybe?) My Buckeye always used to come warm, but only if Frenchi made it. Twice now, I got barely toasted and my meat wasn't warmed at all. Also, man I loveeee the house made chipotle mayo but today was just way too much sauce. There were about 6 to go bags on the shelf along with mine. When I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised it wasn't busier, she said it'll be busier tomorrow. I said the day after St Pat's? No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other. There is not enough sauerkraut and it is not very sour. I was given the choice of a dill or garlic pickle but I cannot tell you how it was because they didn't put it in the bag. I expected this sandwich to have so much meat in it, I could eat for multiple days for $18. Again, disappointed. Maybe I should've gotten the deli sized version but paying that much for a sandwich...
