We walked to the brand-new Short North location first, but it was inexplicably closed despite posted hours. That was frustrating. We really wanted Frenchi's, so we drove up to this OG location. No line which is great! A nice woman was working the counter. We got our sammies and brought them home. They were as solid as always, but there's some things I have to note: Frenchi himself always made our sandwiches to perfection. Toasted, hot, perfectly made. The two times we had another employee make them, they are just different. Same ingredients, but different ratios maybe? Today my husbands Eiffel came super toasty and meats/cheese heated up in a microwave (or toaster oven maybe?) My Buckeye always used to come warm, but only if Frenchi made it. Twice now, I got barely toasted and my meat wasn't warmed at all. Also, man I loveeee the house made chipotle mayo but today was just way too much sauce. Yes, I should have spoken up about what I specifically wanted, but part of my reviews need to include things like consistency. Today was fine, but not the 5 star I've come to expect. One star off for the other location being closed and not posted anywhere. One star off for inconsistent sandwiches. read more

First time here the smell of the fresh baked croissant hits your nose and smells delicious. The owner Frenchi who waited on us was very friendly and suggested the sandwich we should order so we allowed him to do so . The sandwich's we received did NOT Disappoint they were amazing ! The sauce the meats the toppings all delicious. We also received a complimentary chocolate croissant... and OMG it was warm and delicious . We will definitely be going back! Really solid sandwich. I saw someone post their Buckeye, and it sounded great, and I was nearby a couple of days later. I stopped in at lunchtime, and they had a steady stream but weren't slammed. The staff were excellent: the owner, I assume his wife, and another prep guy. Everyone was friendly and helpful and worked together. They have crêpes too, but since I didn't have Kid K along, I passed. You can get a hoagie bun, a wrap, or rye bread. I went with a Buckeye hoagie. So basically a sub with roast beef, pastrami, and turkey. Plus whatever sauces and toppings you want. I got chipotle sauce, lettuce, and tomato, very thinly sliced red onions, and the banana peppers. Held together very well. The bread was very fresh, though a bit too much dough maybe for the sandwich. Everything was tasty and blended together well, both tastes and textures. I will be back for a few other menu items. It is convenient to campus, and prices are reasonable for the modern day. Small parking lot, but there were some openings. read more

You guys need to try this! This place serves very good sandwiches! My husband got 'La tour Eiffel' and it's No.1 the most recommend! The bread was toasted to perfection, they source high quality and super tasty meat! I also ordered my sandwich for my next day lunch, so I got cold sandwich. I have to say that I love it soo much. I don't know much about sandwich so I let the owner recommend me one with all kind of toppings and turkey and salami! So so so good! I start so many of reviews with, "I've been wanting to come here forever, and I'm so glad I did!" This is one of those places. I told the guy working this, and he said, "Well, where have you been!" It's that kind of "welcome in folks!" vibe, complete with a bubbly employee and open door, even on a rainy night. (I didn't catch his name and wish I would have asked if he was the owner. I wouldn't be surprised if he was, but either way, he was so friendly and knowledgeable. He was really enthusiastic about the whole menu and made me, a world-hating introvert, smile and laugh talking about sandwiches.) I got a simple smoked turkey sandwich on hoagie bread with chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, oil and vinegar (I think, whatever was recommended), and salt and pepper, hot. I wouldn't have ordered the chipotle mayo, oil and vinegar, or salt and pepper on my own, but all of the employee's recommendations were spot on. Normally, I actively avoid chipotle because I just don't like the taste or how it hurts my stomach, depending on where I get it. But I'm so glad I was convinced to try it. It was subtle but tasty and gave the sandwich the perfect little bit of spice. It was such a simple sandwich but so so good that I was sad that I had promised my partner half of mine lol. It was filled with enough meat that I was full after eating the smaller half. I will definitely be back here and can't wait to try more! I know a lot of people in Cbus are missing Neighbor's Deli. Frenchi's won't match the size of those Neighbor's sandwiches, but they will match - and even exceed - the flavor. I was ordering for two, getting a pastrami hoagie for my wife and what I thought was going to be a smoked turkey wrap for me. True to other Yelp reviews, the owner steered me in a better direction to the Buckeye which featured turkey, roast beef and pastrami. The meats, custom toppings, homemade chipotle sauce and the garlic & herbs tortilla blended beautifully. The pastrami hoagie was no slouch, but I'm looking to return to try more specialty sandwiches in wrap form for sure. read more

Columbus is definitely missing out on deli sandwiches, and Frenchi's begins to scratch that itch. Simple interior, sandwiches to go. I ordered the Le Buckeye (#5), they suggest topping it with lettuce, tomato, onion, and chipotle mayo, and I added jalapeños. All of the vegetables were super fresh and the hoagie roll was solid. Meats were sliced fresh as well. No-nonsense sandwich place, excellent! I was hoping to try the corned beef but they were out the night I was there, which was unfortunate. In any case, the hoagie itself was very good. I will definitely be returning to try a pastrami sandwich and the crepes, which looked fantastic. If the pastrami by itself is as good as the sandwich, this might be a five star ordeal. read more

Ordered Le Eiffel Tower, a gyro and the croque monsier Unfrenchness aside (no French bread, no Dijon or brown mustard), if I evaluate it as a sandwich shop I still felt the food was very average. The roast beef was dry, the yellow mustard threw me, and the gyro was very over sauced-- which is good when it's tzaki sauce but not when it's chipotle ranch! There are other delis in the area that make sandwiches better than this. Columbus really does need more delis, but I was disappointed. We did not try the crepes, so these might be good. read more

The Guys in the shop were really really nice, which is why I never reviewed it before, but seeing this 5 star review is just waaay off base. I would have given it 2 if the guys weren't so nice. Now for the bad: 1. Place was dirty. Dirty like a convenience store or a gas station food place. 2. Pastrami was just meh. It was like they took 5 slices of deli pastrami and put it between overly oily buttered deli rye (think: making a boars head pastrami sandwich at home, now think about using half the amount of meat). 3. Price see above, now consider it costed $18. Go the extra few miles and just go to Katzingers, you'll have no regrets. read more
