Located in the Hilliard Market this is a good place to grab food and it can be ordered online. They have burgers, chicken sandwich and fries mostly. On this visit we ordered a grilled chicken, fries and a pulled pork sandwich. All were cooked well and had good flavor.

Big Mick and classic burger + large fries

Delicious burgers and fries! I love everything about the food and the menu options. All the burgers automatically come as a double patty but you can order a "mini" burger which only has one. We got the Big Mick and Classic burger. The Big Mick is more flavorful than the classic but I loved how perfectly the flavors merged in the classic burger. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever flavor you choose. Additionally, the fries were perfectly crispy. We came at a very busy time of day and got our order within 20 minutes. They have specials too which are not advertised on the website. They had a fried shrimp basket when I went which I almost ordered! So keep an eye out for their new additions.

Large basket of fries and two mushroom jalapeño burgers

Got my first chance to visit the Market inside Crooked Can for dinner the other day (a Friday evening.) Pretty cool spot and a great addition in Hilliard. It was cold so we didn't sit outside but I bet the huge outdoor area is awesome in warmer weather! As you'd expect it to be in a Friday around dinner, it was busy and the acoustics inside the market make it almost impossible to have a conversation and the tables (mostly shared 6-tops) fill up quickly. We tried the jalapeño mushroom burgers and they have double patties. Pretty good value for money at about $11. The flavor was good but I'd love more jalapeños. The cheese is insanely good, too. For sure get something with this cheese! For me, the basket of fries was the star of the show. Nicely crunchy and the large is big enough to share. The flavor though... SO good!! Even if you're just heading out to grab beers with friends, I feel like I would always get these fries. They're that tasty! All in all good experience and tasty food. I'd get it again the next time I find myself in Hilliard!

Bourbon glaze burger. It's not just a looker it taste great too...

Been following on the gram because I knew I would be in CBUS. Center street market is a must stop and Hot Mess is the business.... Got the bourbon burger and little guy got the tenders and fries. The burger was JUST as good as it looks. I devoured it in a min flat... walk don't run.

Spicy Chicken Sandwich

This place is inside the crooked can. We got a burger, spicy chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. The tenders were ENORMOUS and the fries were crisp and yummy too. The sandwich was also pretty good. The only thing I would change is to have less gristle or fat (some pieces should have definitely been cut off). Other than that everything was pretty good.

The food was GREAT--maybe the best burger I've ever had--and the service was good. Will definitely go back!

Fast service, great burgers! When you order with no bun, burger is served on a bed of lettuce, which is nice.

A great burger. It's huge. If you're not a big eater try the single patty. Onion rings were awesome too

I was a bit hesitant going in because it's been years since the last Yelp review -- that lack of recent buzz (good or bad) felt concerning. On a Saturday night, it wasn't overly busy, so we didn't have trouble getting a table (they don't take reservations but do accept call-aheads). I ordered the burger and onion rings, and both were genuinely delicious -- I was very happy with my food. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't as smooth for my friends. One has a severe seafood allergy, and she was shocked to learn that all fried items (fries, onion rings, etc.) are cooked in the same oil as the seafood. It made her nervous to order much else from the menu, and we almost walked out when we found out. A separate fryer or dedicated oil for non-seafood items seems like a basic accommodation these days. Two other friends are recovering alcoholics and were disappointed that the only "non-alcoholic" beer option still contained a slight amount of alcohol. Their only other choice was a sugary mocktail, which isn't great for diabetics either. In 2026, it's surprising that a restaurant/bar still struggles with these common dietary and lifestyle needs. The food we did eat was solid, but the evening felt dampened by the lack of basic accommodations. There are plenty of other places that handle allergies and non-drinkers much better. I would have scored them much higher if they could have accommodated this basics.

This place knows how to make your taste buds do the happy dance. We didn't have to wait long for our food, which was a blessing because I was *hangry*. When the food came out, it was hot, fresh, and basically screamed, "Eat me now!" My son went for the mushroom Swiss burger, which he devoured like he hadn't eaten in weeks. I opted for the classic cheeseburger with fries -- simple, juicy, and absolutely perfect. Oh, and as if one meal wasn't enough, my son also ordered a chicken sandwich. He declared it "the best ever," which is saying something because this kid is a chicken sandwich connoisseur. The television entertainment was the Cartoon Network, which made me know this was a special place. Preston's, you've earned a special place in our hearts (and stomachs). If you're looking for a spot that serves up deliciousness with zero pretension, this is it. Highly recommend -- just don't forget to bring stretchy pants!

The fries were pretty ordinary, but crisp and hot. The standout was the biscuits that I ordered to see what they were like. The were unique and very good. They were just a little sweet. Good texture /mouth feel. I wonder if the biscuits would make a good burger bun... maybe too sweet? The place was very clean and inviting. The qr code ordering was handy, but a bit impersonal. The server was nice and did offer to take my order personally. Not sure if I'll come back on my own initiative (not close to my house). But if a friend said let's have lunch there I'd be happy to return.
