To be honest, I don't know if OfficeMax really deserves five-stars, but I'm giving it anyway, because so far, they've been an awesome help to me! I'm a junior designer, so I go to them for most of the printing jobs that we don't do in-house! It's really helpful that they set it up, so that they can print files via email! It saves A LOT OF TIME and is really convenient. :) Plus, they'll redo anything FOR FREE if the job didn't come out right! (They might not be happy to do, because, quite frankly, who would be?!) For example, the last time I went there for a print job, we were working on our in-house scrapbooks . . . And a few of the pages didn't come out right, so when I called and asked if we could get them reprinted & relaminated, Janine gladly said that we could! While waiting for that job to get redone, there was a lady there who was getting business cards printed . . . She was kind of . . . Mean. :( She made Janine recut ALL of her business cards! This is the second time that my husband and I visited Office Max for a special service. The first time was for laminating. We were very impressed by the customer service and reasonable price to complete the large visual that needed laminating. Today we needed photos from the hanabata days scanned to disk. The sales woman (think her name was Judy/Jody) was incredibly friendly and really wanted us to get a bang for our buck. She explained prices to us and even gave us options. We left less than 20 minutes later with our project accomplished and wallets still full. If you ever need a specialty print/photo type service, Office Max is a good spot to keep in mind. Honestly, I love supporting small local businesses, but sometimes when the pressure is on (for this procrastinator) you just want quality service with a smile that is budget friendly! (and there was only one person in front of me who was trying to get a raincheck on an office chair) My total bill was only a little over two dollars, since I came in for a 99 cent item to begin with, but my patience was getting a bit worn. It seemed to be a manager that guided me to the right isle, for the product I was looking for, which was a color laser printer. After, I went to look for toner and Taylor made sure if I needed everything in a very quick but respectful manner. She even took the time to look for current sales and bundles for the product I was purchasing. She did an excellent job assisting me with everything. My score is misleading so let me explain. Three of five is only because of the ink re-fill station still out of order, other than that it is a fives across the board. I am a full time professional and graduate student. Both duties as you can imagine are admin intensive to include printing. Although my course work was provided as pdf documents, I still prefer the paper copies so I can I highlight, write notes, and place in binders. This is where the print center hit a home run. They did a great job and fast. This was not the first time that I hired them to print over a 1000 pages either and it was done perfectly each time I hire this service. There are power point slides that I need to print off weekly among other things so during the school year I am chewing through ink pretty rapidly and was hoping for the ink re-fill center to be up and running. I have been in there twice now as early as Nov 12, 2013 and the ink re-fill is still down and I was told that they may be getting rid of it. For the military that is out there, show them your military ID card (includes dependents). You will get issued a Retail Connect Card with a bar code on the back. Printing prices are about 60-75% less. Discounts are authorized on anything in the store, but it is not a set percentage off; it is dependent on the product. Some have higher discounts than others. Regardless, you walk away spending less which is always good. read more

My Toshiba laptop's registry and partitions got corrupted when I reloaded my printer driver. I brought my 5-year-old Toshiba laptop in to OfficeMax. Based on the results of a free diagnostic test, Jeff Forney installed a new hard drive and was able to install the same Windows 7 operating system back into my old workhorse laptop. My laptop now works faster than before. I hope I can get at least another 5 years out of it and will try not to fiddle around with it. For some reason I thought this location closed down but to my advantage it is still open. When entering the store you receive a warm welcome right away, even at 8am! I needed to get some business cards printed and actually found a great discount at this store so I decided to try them out. Even though you actually order the cards on a computer in the printing department, the employees usually help you out. Rodel and Katie are both extremely helpful and friendly. Everything turned out great and they even call to let you know when they are ready for pick up. After finishing up printing, I browsed around the rest of the store where employees greeted me numerous more times. The staff was great and I will definitely go back because of them. read more

Used to shop here often in the mainland, but this location's customer service is terrible. Waiting in line for 20 minutes due to incompetent cashiers is unacceptable. A great Location, A huge parking lot, A HUGE store full of everything an office needs! The employees are so awesome, patient (especially for my 96 year old grandpa) and very friendly! Then as I was walking around to find some things, the person close to the isle I am walking towards, mentioned what was on sale and sure enough I ended up buying a few file folder pocket thingys. (dont know what they are called). I just had to get this cute black high heel tape roll that came with jewel stickers to decorate my high heel. Totally cute things they have here! I love my office chair for my home office too! It has a normal leather seat looking bottom, then the back rest and curved head rest has like a plastic screen type material so its cool and I dont sweat in it. Very breathable and comfy! I never agreed to this and in fact the gal at checkout never asked me if I wanted a subscription. Will never go back. read more

This review is for the entire company, not just this store. Our organization orders office supplies from Office Max because they are convenient and generally deliver VERY quickly. However, I have to wonder how they manage to stay in business! Before Thanksgiving, we decided to order 2 conference tables for our office. As, we have purchased a few pieces of office furniture before from Office/Max/Office Depot I decided to give them a try. This was one of the worst decisions I made. Although their website shows a number of tables and lists them as "Out of Stock for Delivery" a call to the company reveals that they no longer carry these products. They will instead offer you another line that is more expensive. However, the products were still well priced so I went ahead an put in an order with the Furniture Retail Account division. This was BEFORE Thanksgiving....fast forward to December when 2 of the WRONG size tables were delivered without notice to the wrong place. One more week passed and we were able to get the tables (which were too heavy for us to move) moved by the company to the right office.....only to discover they shipped us two different colored tables! To exchange the table that was the wrong color we had to arrange pick up and accept charges for the "replacement" table. We were only refunded when the Warehouse in Illinois received the return! We FINALLY got both tables delivered and installed in JANUARY!!! After that it took another week or so for their sales person to email me a final invoice. According to her, companies NEVER ask for final invoices (the initial invoice does not show all the taxes charged) so she doesn't usually send them. Really?! I SWORE not to order through them again, but recently needed to order another two office chairs. We needed them to match the ones we had ordered previously so I sucked it up and ordered through Office Max. Now it's been two weeks and we still have no chairs! The system shows one chair as delivered and they changed the delivery date for the 2nd chair twice. Upon my arrival at work this morning I found a voice mail from a delivery driver who apparently showed up 2 days late on GOOD FRIDAY. Now, I am still waiting for follow up to find out where our two chairs are. Bottom line: If you plan to order anything other than basic office supplies, do NOT trust Office Depot. Their service has been atrocious. Honestly, it would be better to spend a little more to work with another company than to waste the enormous amounts of time it will take you to deal with Office Depot. Never again... read more

I gave this place a call to see if they had a printer cartridge recycling or rebate program. The lady I was talking to said that they did, and that they offered $3 per cartridge for my HP printer. When I get there, I find my cartridges and take them to the register along with the old ones. When I swipe my credit card the price was a little high. I asked if the rebate worked, and the guy said that I had to be a member of some BS Office Max program. Forget that. Don't think I'll want to come back for printer cartridges. read more

Worst customer service ever!! I don't normally go into a store like this expecting over-the-top customer service. However, the level of NON-service here was just unbelievable! When I first walk in a guy asks if I needed help so I said I just needed to return a gift. He said I can go to any cashier. I go to the registers and there is no one at any of the registers. I wait there for a while and still no one. Then another customer starts walking toward the registers with a cartful of items. A cashier suddenly pops out of nowhere and offers to ring the lady up, although it's clear I was in line first and had been standing there for a few minutes! As I'm waiting, the customer service cashier opens up and calls me to go to her register. As I'm walking towards her, another customer cuts in front of me. Instead of saying she will help me first since she called me over, the cashier starts to ring him up before me! So I wait again and finally it's my turn. The return goes fairly smoothly but at the end of the transaction when the cashier hands me my receipt, I said I don't need it because I already got the gift card from her. She insisted that I HAD to take the receipt because she did not want to throw it away in her trash can. Really?? I HAVE TO take it? Is this some strange policy that OfficeMax has that the customers are forced to take the receipt because their employees will get in trouble if they throw it away in their trash can? So I take the receipt and was very tempted to just ball it up and throw it on the floor in the store. Have been to this store before on ala Moana boulevard. A number of years ago they were pretty good. You would get a little attention from the staff. Have dropped off shredding to be done no problem walk in the door they weigh it you pay them they lock it up and you leave. My most recent visit was approximately 2 weeks ago to send a fax. As I walk toward the fax machine one of the staff asked if I needed help, thank you no they pointed me at the fax machine there was a gentleman there older gentleman trying to make numerous copies of a document he had. He asked me for help. Finally got somebody over to help him. My faxes took three times to four times the amount of time it would have if I had waited for FedEx office to be open and do the faxes there. The job got done, that's all that mattered. I also needed to find a small button type battery I went near the front where the cashier is and looked they didn't have one of those measuring guides for the batteries so I took the one I brought as a sample and one that was on the rack and asked the cashier to help me. No disrespect to her I couldn't find the battery myself and it was hard to see if this was the right one the numbers on the back were hard to read. She didn't ask anyone for help she just stared at it for about a minute and a half and said I don't know. That conversation ended there. Not being a quitter I scan the store for someone to help me. The only person I saw was one other lonely customer staring on the other side of the rack I was at trying to figure out what she needed to get. I am thankful they were open the day I needed them. I was grateful for the fact that they even had a fax machine even though it took a good length of time. The good people there I'm sure are glad to be there or at least I'm going to choose to believe they are. Little more attention to the customer we may be a little older we just need some of your savvy in the tech world sometimes. Thank you for being there. Went to Office Max to purchase a new laptop computer. A Toshiba was listed on the Sunday ad and a credit for trading in an old laptop was indicated as well. I called and gave the trade in model and was told that I could only get $75 if it was in excellent condition. I removed by name that i had written on the old laptop, but when I got to the store, they said it was not satisfactory and I would not get the $75 trade in credit. As good a deal the Toshiba seeme to be, I did not want to do business with a store that does a bait and switch like that. I took my old laptop and left the OM, never again to do business with these clowns. I went to the Office Depot around the cornor and saw a similar Toshiba model which was $20 more than the one on sale at OM. The salesman at Office Depot said that they would match the sales price, even though it was not the same model. At that, I went ahead and purchased the new Toshiba from Office Depot. This was the second laptop computer purchased from OD in the last 4 years and like the no BS attitude of the staff there. read more

I wish I could rate more than 5 stars. I had to return to this store to get a situation with a computer chair I had purchased sorted out. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and they definitely care about their customers. It's rare these days that you go to a store and feel very welcomed and cared for. This place gets it. The staff, all the way up to management, does what it's supposed to within their power. Any reviews bashing their service is probably because they are requesting or hoping for the impossible. Worst customer service ever!!!!! It took them to send image of my order more than 1 week while saying they can send in 3 days. Finally images done, nothing came out correct. I had wait another 3 days to fix them. When plaing order, I had to wait more than 30 mintues to just ring up. I really dont understand how they can work such unprofessionally. They never call me to pick them up. So I end up calling them to ask if they are ready. The lady said, " Your order came out but there are issues, if you want, you can come and see." She never apoligize and keep blaming print center in the mainland, her sub who didn't call me the day before. She even said " We didn't make mistake, they did. " I place the rush order but she never consider that and just said " you can pick up after another 7 days" Are they volunteer workers? They get paid for this kind of service? wow. Unbelievable!!!!!! Meh. It's well lit, got big aisles, and air conditioning, but I'd rather shop up the street at Fisher. It's dusty, dark and sometimes crowded in Fisher, but they have waaaaay more products and a lot more things on sale on any given day. Office Max just seems to have too much air in their store.
