But I was able to get an appointment right away, got validated parking and paid about $40 less than anywhere else. She was so professional and kind. Charged me twice for passport photos, and according to the ladies at the passport office, they should have retaken the photos for free and given me proper instructions on how to prepare for the photo. I came to Image City located in Restaurant Row for the first time about 18-19 years ago to get my fingerprints done. They are great for realtors obtaining out of state licenses, medical field professionals, finance/insurance professionals and anyone else looking to get fingerprinting done. Image City was highly recommended because Nancy is friendly, fast and inexpensive for her services. It is also located very close to downtown so that was a huge plus for me. You can park in Restaurant Row and she validates. Nancy has been in business for 34 years and her service has been quite consistent. I recently had to come back to get fingerprints done for a nonresident license. She quickly responded to my call with a text and I was able to schedule my appointment with her directly. It wasn't a long wait for the appointment date (about a week). Her first available appointment was on Independence Day. I took that appointment and found out lots of people in the medical field books her on holidays to take care of their fingerprinting. Image City also offers Passport photos and the Honolulu Passport Agency is conveniently located across the street. I highly recommend Image City for your fingerprinting needs. This was a last minute appointment, but she made it happen. Went to another highly rated Yelp fingerprinting business just to get stood up by the owner? Anyways, called Image City and they luckily had an opening appointment due to a cancellation the same day. The stars were aligned. Came promptly for my appointment and she got moving quickly. After filling out paper work and carefully verifying information, I was rolling my fingers in ink and having em pressed down on some paper. She was efficient and very knowledgeable. The whole process took maybe 45 min? Not bad considering we did two sets or prints and all that paperwork. Price for fingerprinting was $65 but with 4% credit card fee, came out to $68. Tbh the first place I inquired quoted me about $20 more so I definitely am not complaining about price. Considering it's a one time thing (hopefully), and knowing how important it is to get a professional to do it right, I actually consider that a super good price. This lady was awesome! The wonderful lady there is very knowledgeable and friendly. She answers the phone and tries to accommodate me when I needed quick finger prints. She is appointment only and her shop is small. It's a little hard to find in the little shopping center but don't go upstairs, stay street level and you'll find the shop. Perhaps the only thing is that she does not do is sanitize the pens like other establishments. But she's the only one I saw working the 2 times I went so I did not care. I had to get my passport photo taken and this place was 5 minutes away from Queen's Medical Center where I work. Nancy was very nice and it took less than 10 minutes to get back to my car and head to the State Library to submit my passport application. When the staff at the library turned down my photo (for the background not being white enough), Nancy took another set of photos and I was in and out of there in 10 minutes again. Was able to make an appointment for the same day I called - drove down 1 hour later and got validated parking! To find the parking garage, (esp. if you're coming from windward side over the Pali highway to town) I recommend taking South King St., then Punchbowl, and then Pohukaina street. The lady was fast, efficient, and very sweet. She was also very meticulous with recording the correct information from my 2 sets of IDs (recommend driver license and passport). Overall service was pleasant and impressive. I paid roughly $23 for 1 fingerprinting card. She then provided me with an envelope to put the card in (other places required I bring my own). (A Hawaii 5-0 star also came to visit and talk to the kind lady when I went, so take that as you will as an extra sign of good luck.) read more

Came here to get my fingerprints done to transfer my RN license since many mainland board of nursing(s) require paper prints. Did my research and this was by far the cheapest place on island that I could find, with good reviews. Free parking in the garage with validation. Nancy is very knowledgeable when it comes to doing fingerprints, and transferring nursing licenses. I got an appointment for the next day. Nancy asked what state I was transferring my license to and immediately listed the items to bring. I was careless and forgot to bring in a copy of the email that the BON sent. Nancy caught this (thankfully!!!) and offered to print it for a fee. I'm glad Nancy is so familiar with this part of the process since it could've delayed getting my license. She is very careful with her work. She double checks everything and assured me that my prints would pass, and they did. I accidentally left my credit card there and she called me immediately to let me know (I know, I was a mess that day lol). Overall very satisfied with the service provided. Please note that if you forget anything, there will be an additional charge (for the fingerprint cards, printing, etc.). It's not cheap, but it does save you time and the hassle of another trip, so it's reasonable in my opinion. Also, if you pay with card, there's an additional surcharge. Image City is a small store a couple of doors away from Tamura's Wine at Restaurant Row. The owner, Nancy, is very nice and knows what she is doing. I came here to have my fingerprints taken for my own FBI identity history check -- you never know what's on it until too late so doing my own check. After she took my fingerprints she even used a magnifying glass to check the prints to make sure everything came out right. She also does photos for passports and Visas. The only reason deducting 1 star was there were charges that were not disclosed from what I was quoted. I brought my own fingerprint card printed on regular paper and she showed me the same formatted card but on thick stock paper so used that instead. It is much better....but a charge for it, for sealing it in an envelope and a verification form she encloses with it. Fingerprinting was only supposed to cost $19.95 which is very good. I later found out I was charged $24.95... which included $2.95 for the fingerprint card, taxes and on top of that a 4% charge for using a credit card to pay. Other than the taxes, I wasn't told upfront for any of the other charges. I would have happily paid for the fingerprint card and paid cash if I had known. Anyhow I wanted to put it out there so there are no more surprises, even if she mentioned some of the charges are posted on her counter. I definitely recommend going to her for whatever you need. She replies fast, via email, text or phone and will have an appointment setup easily around your schedule. read more

Overall, bad quality fingerprinting service here. Horrible customer service or refunds once your fingerprints get rejected from wherever you're trying to submit them. I went here back in November 2016 to get my fingerprints done for the Board of Nursing. I was told that my fingerprints weren't good because the lines on my fingers weren't good. However, she still charged me $50 and let me leave with fingerprints that weren't up to par. Months later when my fingerprints gets processed I receive a notice that my fingerprints were rejected because they were "poor quality prints." I go to a different fingerprinting service to get my fingerprints re-done and they said that my fingerprints were good and that they don't understand how Image City couldn't get good prints on me. I return to Image City with the intentions of getting a refund but as soon as I describe my situation, the lady gives me a generic excuse that my fingerprints and lines on my actual fingers aren't of good quality.... without even looking at my fingers or seeing the prints. And I know she couldn't have possibly remembered me specifically from 7 months ago. This sounds like her go to excuse for her poor fingerprinting skills. She refused a refund and admitted that she knew that my first fingerprints wouldn't go through with the Board of Nursing but still let me turn those in and pay her $50. read more

I'm attending school on the mainland and needed to get fingerprinting done in order to start clinical classes within a hospital. I was told by the schools clinical facilitator that I probably could go to a HPD station to get these done but that wasn't the case based on reading other reviews. By having that tagline on yelp it took away any questioning what kind of services this place provided. They do finger printing by appointment only but when I called I was told they could possibly do same day if I needed to. I ended up making an appointment on a Friday and it was an ease. No wait. Make sure you bring two forms of ID. Valid drivers license, passport, birth certificate or SSN are options.
