Leo and Billy hands down best bartender duo in Boston. Great humor, great food and even better service!

We spent New Year's Eve having dinner here. The ambiance and service were great despite the busy and hectic holiday. Food was delicious.

Had a wonderful dinner here recently. The restaurant is large and loud, but our table was in the back and somewhat protected. Great service and delicious food - what more could you ask for. Also good people watching. Lobster was done the way I asked, and the potatoes were rich but delicious. The crab cake was also excellent and large. Too full for dessert. Pricey but worth it. read more

Ocean Prime is expensive but worth it. We were able to make a reservation and sit outside, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. I dream of their ahi tuna tartare. It's perfect in every way. They also have top notch sushi - highly recommend. The scallops were absolutely perfect with risotto and I wouldn't change anything about my meal. read more

I honestly have not one bad thing to say about this place. The ambiance is great to have dinner with some friends or have a romantic dinner. I really wanted to love it up. So I ordered a drink which I normally wouldn't but the berries and cocktails was faking my name. It was so yummy and best of all is the presentation. For my appetizer I ordered the spicy tuna but not tempura fried and I loved that I had that option and it was just as good. I wasn't too hungry due to me enjoying the bread basket. So I ordered their house salad with chicken again very good. My husband ordered the steak to medium and it was cooked per his request and a side of scallop potatoes. Good food and great company, it was a great evening. Also, their music they had playing. Wow. I was jamming in my seat listening to some throw backs I listened to when I was in high school. read more

I went here to celebrate my birthday the other week and the service was absolutely flawless. While the menu is pricier (as expected), the restaurant goes above and beyond to attend to every detail. The food was very good and I give my highest compliments to the wait staff who took very good care of us. read more

My husband and I came here to try their Dine Out Boston menu. It was a lot louder than we expected and we felt like it was trying to be a fancy, sit-down restaurant and a sports bar at the same time. We did get a nice seat near the window with a lovely view of golden hour though. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive. The French onion soup was very good, with a rich, slightly sweet flavor and a cheesy crust. The house salad was pretty standard. My steak was a little over-cooked for a medium rare and surprisingly not as well seasoned as I would've expected. The potato patty that came with it was pretty good. My husband got the cod entree. The cod itself was nothing special, but the gnocchi pieces were flavorful and there was a decent portion of lobster meat. For dessert we got carrot cake and vanilla ice cream. Both were tasty, but again nothing special. They were very kind to give us a little happy anniversary chocolate. Overall, it was a nice experience for Dine Out Boston price, but we probably wouldn't come back for a regular meal due to the price and the ambience. read more

Just over 2 weeks ago, my best friend and I took my mother here for her birthday dinner - and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. I'd planned a long weekend trip to Boston for us because my best friend (who she's basically adopted as a bonus kid) is living in the city for a year. Dinner at Ocean Prime was *the* birthday dinner of the weekend celebration extravaganza. I'd made reservations (via OpenTable - no matter how you make them, I *definitely* recommend reservations. The place is CROWDED), and we got a great booth (just as requested). Our server was wonderful, and she really enhanced the celebratory nature of the night... she's was so good that she actually talked my mother into trying the fish for dinner (the Chilean Sea Bass - with Whipped Potatoes and Champagne Truffle Sauce), when my mother never really eats fish. And? My mother LOOOOVED it. My friend and I kinda went all out for this dinner. Besides the fish, our dinner that night consisted of oysters and shrimp cocktail for apps, 3 of the "Berries 'n Bubbles" cocktails, my friend and I both ordered filets with 3 scallops on the side (him with bernaise sauce, me with truffle butter sauce) for our dinners themselves, and then we ordered sides to share at the table, including the parmesan truffle fries and the broccoli & cauliflower. To end the night, we all ordered crème brûlée (which I'm shocked to say my mother had NEVER had before(!)... HOW?!), with my mother's being on the house, of course. We were all so full by the end of the night. All in all, a delightful night made all the more special by the excellent service and wonderful food. Thank you for making my mother's birthday dinner so special, Ocean Prime! read more

Had a business dinner here with 6 colleagues. Two had the berries and bubbles cocktail which is very showy and very tasty. I had the cucumber gimlet which is always my favorite drink here. For apps, we had the calamari which is in a nice tangy sticky batter, deviled eggs which had a spectacular dome and slight hint of truffle under the caviar. For dinner, most of my guests had the filet which they loved. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was perfection. For sides we had the Brussels, whipped potatoes, mushrooms, and cream spinach. All were quite tasty. For dessert, the towering carrot cake got rave reviews, I personally loved the chocolate peanut butter truffle cheesecake. Our server, Jacques, was fabulous! He was so personable, efficient and steered me in the right direction when he recommended the Sea Bass for me! The atmosphere is always trendy and fun-great for people watching. We were in the back which is also quieter than the front which is better for conversing. read more

Food: My boyfriend and I absolutely love Ocean Prime for fancy night's out. One of our favorite menu options is the ocean roll! - Ocean Roll - Ahi Tuna - Teriyaki Salmon - Roasted Brussel Sprouts Ambiance/Service: Upscale interior with various booths and tables to sit at. Bar area looked super cool too. Was able to book a reservation about 1-2 hrs before we came in - made the dining experience much less stressful. Our server was super accommodating and kind. read more

Food was great! The seafood tower did not disappoint. Great presentation with dry ice and etc.. Tried the crowd pleaser Berries and Bubbles cocktail. Good presentation but didnt taste any alcohol. Great seafood and steak. My only complaint was the 10 layer carrot cake which was VERY dry, It didnt live up to the hype. Overall, i had awonderful dining experience here. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

We went for my birthday and made a reservation in advance. We came on a Monday night and there were many business groups there. It wasn't too packed. The service was fast and the ambiance was more on the fancy side. I had high hopes for this place, but it fell short compared to other high-end restaurants. The steak was under-seasoned and nothing special. The rib appetizer was by far the best thing we had there. They provided a complimentary dessert to celebrate my birthday! Not too much street parking but they do offer valet for a certain price. read more

6/17/23 -- I went here with a few friends when I was back in town for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. The place was beautiful and had an elegant touch as soon as you walked in! Our waiter was everything we could have asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and the server answered all of her questions thoughtfully and honestly. He also explained the ticketing process the restaurant provides for people with gluten allergies. At the end of the meal, he brought us out a piece of cake a cake (that had gluten free flour) to also accommodate my friend! We all ordered different assortments. I had the lobster linguine which had a generous amount of lobster and left me leaving full. My other friends had different types of sushi which they also thoroughly enjoyed. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because my friend who has the gluten allergy ended up feeling sick later about a hour later, which is usually the timeline when she has had something with gluten in it. She's didn't eat anything else so she's sure it was something she had at Ocean Prime. Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant to people who ask. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. read more

Work dinner here. Definitely an upscale steak and seafood restaurant with price tags that yell upscale. Service was 5 star. The appetizers were delish. We had the calamari, deviled eggs and a few others. All delish. I had the strip steak special, Kansas City style bone in strip. About 2" thick and pretty amazing. The ambiance felt typical high end steak house feel but it's still a reasonably new restaurant so not outdated (yet). The cocktails were awesome and the array of after dinner drinks were endless. If you're looking for fancy fancy upscale steak and seafood, here's your joint in the Seaport. read more

Service and ambiance is excellent. Not feeling rushed, being able to linger over dessert and finishing off that bottle of wine was lovely. Excellent wine knowledge and pairing suggestions. Food is generally good with some room for improvement. Tuna Tartare and Calamari were excellent. Calamari was very tender and the Asian style prep was a revelation. Clam Chowder was disappointingly mediocre. Needed salt, needed flavor. I had about 4 others in the city that week that were significantly better. Lobster linguine was excellent, not super heavy as you might expect of a white sauce which was nice. Lobster was forward and not overwhelmed. Lobster tails were perfectly prepared and very nicely seasoned. Sushi was good. Black truffle Mac and Cheese was another underwhelming dish. Crème Brûlée was fine Butter Cake was amazing. TLDR: Don't come here for the Chowder or Mac. Everything else is excellent to pretty good. read more

Overall, Ocean Prime was a great experience. The servers were very attentive and I never had to ask for refills or assistance as they were anticipating our needs. *delayed review* I went here over a year ago and loved it so much. The standouts for me were the berries and bubbles cocktail and the steak tartare app. The drink is a beautiful pink with dry ice causing a flashy bubbling experience. The drink tastes amazing! The steak tartare was incredible, better than any other tartare I've had at any other restaurant. Overall great experience! read more

Ocean Prime is one of the few culinary experiences that I'll remember from Boston. It's a rare blend of steakhouse and seafood house, and does both to a very high level. I'm actually going to start with my least favorite experiences first. The seafood tower: pretty pricey, so we had high expectations coming in. That being said, I felt the lobster here was passable - most of us agreed that the lobster at James Hook was better for example. Lobster meat was a little tough and the flavor not as pronounced. The oysters were good, but we did not feel were justified by the price point. Fresh and creamy but lacked in quantity and lasting aftertaste. The shrimp was the best part and may be the only worthwhile aspect - the cocktail sauce paired with the fatty juicy shrimp was worth it. The surf n turf is also passable, decent scallops and braised beef but is quite a strange combo that didn't work very well together. Moving on to solid dishes: the clam chowder was super creamy and filling, really worth the price point for the volume and its strong rich flavors. We shared the sea bass and found it soft, flaky, and aromatic. Absolutely well seasoned and wonderful. The filet mignon is perfectly cooked to order and while it didn't blow my mind, you could taste the quality of meat used. The calamari was the best of this tier, with this being one of my favorite calamari dishes ever due to the abundance and nice quality of squid meat paired with the sweet and citrusy seasoning. Now, the absolute star and one you cannot pass is the steak tartare (looked so good they dug into it without letting me get a photo). Simply one of the best bites i ever put into my mouth. it was meaty, juicy, refreshingly cool, aromatic, light, fragrant, and sublime. It was a new mouthfeel experience for me that might make you lose your mind. We went here for my mom's birthday and they gave her a complimentary Creme Brulee that we all shared, and it was a delicious and rich way to end the evening. Great service and overall great food that justifies the price point. read more

Waited outside for the venue to open at 4p on a Saturday, walked away for 15mins, suddenly it was packed - thats says a lot. Despite being bombarded by a crowd, the staff remained pleasant. Landed two seats at the bar, had 3 bowls of the delectable truffled flavored complimentary popcorn. Thereafter, I ordered a cocktail which had Jessica's imprint, so good - she's the best! That was followed by my amazing seafood salad (loaded w/lobster & very generous portion). My husband had the lobster Mac, it too was tasty. The overall menu was very attractive so it definitely leaves you wanting to come back! Great experience, so glad my husband choose this place! read more

Great upscale dining experience in a great seaport location. On the pricy side but a wonderful experience.

Covid-19 Review: Great service and great social distancing between perimeter tables. Terrible distancing for large center tables where groups of 6 to 8 were WAY too close. If you are concerned about Covid, skip the Seaport on weekends. I witnessed so many women holding the mask 10 inches from their face to avoid smudging their make up. I saw this in Ocean Prime and while waiting for table. PROS: incredible tuna tartare appetizer and a dessert you cannot beat. I highly recommend the desserts. Wow. Hot butter cake with iced cream. Decent steaks. Cooked a bit more than requested. And the shrimp weren't the huge Tiger shrimp you would expect at a nice seafood spot in the Seaport. $22 for Valet. $17 for indoor weekend parking around the corner. OVERALL: Good experience but not nearly what I would expect for the Seaport at a nice Steak and Seafood house. read more

Simply outstanding! What a wonderful dining experience. You're so professionally taken care of from the minute you walk in and the hostess welcomes you and takes you to your table. The wait staff was absolutely incredible so polished so professional. I really should add knowledgeable to that because they walked our table through the menu and the specials and made everything sound wonderful but guided you to what was the best choice for you personally. The wine list is a little bit pricey but it is a good list. At our table 2 people had the blackened snapper one person had the tuna and one person had the halibut over a layer of gnocchi. Sides were asparagus au gratin potatoes and brussels sprouts. All three were outstanding especially the brussels sprouts which were cooked to perfection coming with just a little bit of char on them. The mains were absolutely phenomenal the portions were big and we all four wished we had more room so that we could continue eating. It can be a little difficult to get into to make sure and make a reservation. It is also a bit expensive but it is worth every single penny! I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

I know this is a highly rated restaurant and the food was excellent. The ambiance was perfect for our lunch. We enjoyed the music and could hear our conversation. It wasn't too noisy. It's the service that was highly problematic. Let's start with the good stuff and then we'll move to the areas needing improvement. We started with appetizers. The portions were a little small but the appetizers themselves were really good. The calamari was tender, perfectly crispy and we liked the chili sauce. The deviled eggs didn't have much flavor. They were pretty tasteless but that didn't stop us from eating all six! Two of us had the shellfish salad. It had lobster, shrimp, eggs, blue cheese, bacon, tomatoes and avocado. If we'd known it was so big we'd have ordered one and shared it. The salad was great!! Lots of lobster and shrimp. A dressing that wasn't too heavy. Plenty of everything. I'd return just for that salad. Two friends ordered the Poke Bowl. One really enjoyed it and the other said it was ok. Both loved the seaweed salad. They said it was excellent. Two friends had the scallops on a bed of risotto. The portions were really skimpy! One said her scallops were cooked perfectly. The other said some of her's were rubbery. Both agreed that the risotto was perfect. The last woman in our group ordered the crab cake with a side of creamed spinach. She didn't rave about either. The spinach looked really soupy. Here's the rub...the restaurant wasn't very crowded. It was 12:30 in the afternoon on a Monday. The servers assigned to our table were terribly slow and they made a mistake on one of our orders. They brought her the wrong meal. While they did apologize, it took a long time to bring her the meal. We waited so we could eat together. However two of us had hot meals which were getting cold. I forgot about the sweet endings... All of the desserts were fantastic...freaking fantastic! We loved the warm butter cake with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was so moist and not overly sweet. The plate was garnished with a tart raspberry sauce...perfection. The carrot cake was super moist and dense. There was just enough icing so we really got to enjoy the cake. The pineapple sauce garnish was a nice touch. The slice was huge! The flourless chocolate torte was very, very chocolatey. I mean rich, dark chocolate. It wasn't sweet but it was delicious. Two of my friends said it was a chocolate overload. Back to the annoyances... We had to ask for water refills twice. They never brought bread to the table. They didn't check in to be sure the meal was going well. There were two people assigned to our table but they were pretty much ghosts. When they would show up they were pleasant enough...just not very attentive. Short summary: excellent food, mediocre service. read more

Ocean prime was VERY delicious. I had the clam chowder, lobster tail, French 75, baked potato and the pork. Everything by was well seasoned, no need for extra salt. Clam chowder had a spice kick and the right consistency. Lobster tail was poached perfectly. The pork chop MELTED in your mouth. Andre was our waiter, very knowledgeable about the menu and offer great recommendations. Everything he recommended, hit the spot. Anytime you go, ask for Andre! We went on a Sunday. So yummy! We were visiting Boston from California and wanted to try out a nicer restaurant one night. We ended up coming here twice during our weeklong trip, it was that good! The Caesar salad was crisp and flavorful, the risotto (both with and without lobster) was delicious, the scallops were perfectly seared, the steak was probably the best we've ever had (and we eat out a lot haha), the baked potato was HUGE, and the starter bread was tasty. Good vibes too! It's a bit dark in there which is nice when it's not too bright. I wish we had one closer to us because it was so yummy. read more
