Had the tuna tatar appetizer and blackened snapper. Excellent food and presentation. Not inexpensive but worth the money. Would definitely go back and recommend. read more

This was our first time at Ocean Prime was recommended by a friend so we took our friend there for her birthday it was amazing the service, food, the atmosphere just loved it a little expensive but well worth it. read more

I can't say enough good things. My fiance and I love date night and trying new restaurants. Loved the band. Our bartender jessica was a lot of fun and had good recommendations for the menu. We had a hard time deciding on 1 dessert so she had them to bring us out both. Had a great time! Will be back very soon. read more

While visiting Boston recently, I was invited to Ocean Prime for lunch, a new, beautiful location on the Seaport. What a delicious meal it was, served with impeccable service! I wish I could remember our server's name, for he was very attentive without being intrusive. OP's standard answer to any request is "No matter what you ask for, the answer is alway "Yes!" With that said, he brought the black truffle mac & cheese with LOBSTER! Everything we ordered was delicious. Between us, we had the french onion soup, crab cake melt, shrimp sauté, goat cheese ravioli, jalepeno au gratIn potatoes, and roasted brussel sprouts. That was a lot of wonderful tasting food and hard to not take just one more bite, but we wanted dessert, so we ended taking at least half of everything with us! Dessert was the 10 layer carrot cake and the chocolate peanut butter pie! Yum, pure deliciousness! Normally, I stick with water during my meal, but decided to try the rhubarb soda, which is house made and not sweet or syrupy, but quenching and palate cleansing at the same time. Great ambiance, excellent service and delicious food made for a very satisfying and memorable dining experience! read more

Ocean Prime - Seafood Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

See all

Great new steak and seafood place in the sea port, Del Fresco's meets Ostra. I had the NY strip with blue cheese crust, it was amazing. Not quite as good as Del Fresco's, or Capital grille but definitely on par with them. Staff was great, very friendly (maybe a little Jersey Shore Broish) but I can't wait to go back. read more

Ironically enough, I'm writing this review whilst on the toilet. A perfect and appropriate setting considering this place's management and staff are total pieces of shit. Worst service ever. RUDE!!!! UNDERSTAFFED always. They always use that excuse too. Not my fault that you don't know how to run a restaurant. The only thing "good" about this place is the food and the musical acts they have. Don't waste your money here. They don't deserve your patronage. read more

This was my first time going to Ocean Prime. I took my boyfriend here for my birthday. Our reservation was 8 pm, but we arrived about 45 minutes early so they did not have a table ready for us, but we were able to sit at a bar and have a drink. Since it was raining that night, we had an umbrella and they were able to check our umbrella, which was a plus. After about 20 minutes and getting our drinks from the bar, we were seated to our table. Our table seemed like it was deemed for a party of 4, but since it was only 2 of us, I was glad we had all this space to ourselves. It did take a little long for our waiter to come, assuming this was a very busy night, but it was a Tuesday, go figure. The food and the service was overall good. I ordered the teriyaki salmon with the sticky rice and my boyfriend ordered the NY strip steak. Tip: Valet parking is $18.00 and then you would have to tip the valet person who parks your car and brings you your car at the end. There is parking right across the street for $17.00 and saving you a few dollars in your pocket. read more

Beware - someone at the restaurant forged a tip onto our check when we visited during a business trip. A week after dining here, the member of our party who paid noticed a 50-dollar discrepancy on his credit card statement. After retrieving the receipt, someone had written in a 50-dollar tip and changed the total. Obviously this was done by a staff member. The problem was fixed, but only after a lot of time wasted on the phone. No apology or mention of investigation from management. Come for the average food, stay for the fraud. read more

Quality service from Our waiter Levi! Made our night! The steak and truffle fries were great!

Everything was very good, from the appetizers, to the salads. I had the grouper and it was a great dish. It is the perfect place for a client dinner. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to go here on my next trip to Boston. read more

Of course, excellent service (although the server had NO sense of humor). As for the food, everything was very good but nothing was exceptional. The calamari was unusual and good but far from the best I've ever had. The NY steak was cooked perfectly but the Au Poivre sauce was more like an A1 steak sauce than Au Poivre. The dessert, the peanut butter chocolate pie, was definitely the star of the show. All in all, a quality meal but no one thing that has me thinking, 'wow, I can't wait to have this again soon!'. read more

Lunched at Ocean Prime and got the lobster bisque and filet mignon with green beans and potatoes. The presentation was quite nice and the quality of the food was excellent. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is it is primarily a seafood place and I admit I did not have seafood for my entree. read more

We were there about a month ago and we loved the atmosphere, drinks, food and especially the staff. The smoking Martini was awesome and the recommended food items were delicious. The best part of our evening was our server Lisa (also a kindergarten teacher), when we saw her we commented on her highly professional appearance. Our comment to her was that she looked like "a superhero of a waitress" prepared for anything with her belt equipped with all the tools to be a super waitress. Well she was just that. We will definitely come back when we travel to Boston. read more

We had dinner here this past weekend. Excellent experience. Food and service were outstanding. Pricey but not out of line for this level of dining. Another gem in the Seaport. read more

A definite disappointment. My steak was ordered medium well but came out a solid medium. Vegetable side dishes were all an oily mess. The lobster bisque was great. The large booth seating gives you a bit of privacy which is very nice. read more

My bf and I went to Ocean Prime on a Saturday. We reserved and were seated right away. I got the berry bubbly which was very good but also a very sweet drink. I also got a Gimlit drink which was amazing. For appetizers, we got calamari, lobster bisque, and a crab cake. All appetizers were amazing and on point! For entrees, that's when the flavor of the food went downhill. My bf got the 14 oz. NY strip and a lobster tail, which we highly recommend. I got the Grouper with lobster. It was lacking flavor and it the broth it was in was not so good. I would not order or recommend that. Overall a great experience especially for a romantic date. Staff and service are awesome read more

My friends and I go to Ocean prime for the band . Almost Owen is awesome. The music doesn't hinder socializing which helps . We love the food too. read more

This was a terrific dinning experience. The food was wonderful, taste and presentation. The service was very, very good. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful for a dinner with a gluten allergy. We definitely recommend! read more

We went to Ocean Prime on 11/9/18 for the first time. The manager assisted me with our reservation and a special request for my mother. The food and service were outstanding! Our server Yvonne was energetic, accommodating and incredibly attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. The twin lobster tails were cooked to perfection and the calamari is delightful. Signature cocktails were amazing. Seating extremely comfortable. Will be going back very soon. read more

Great decor and amazing, large place. The surf and turf special was incredible and the cream spinach was delicious. You need to be aware of the steep price, but if that's fine with you, you'll have no regrets. read more

Ocean Prime is officially my #1 restaurant! Our waiter, Levi, is amazing and so was our first experience due to him. Thank you, Levi! My friend had the Kansas steak which is very tasty and flavorful. I had the lobster mashed potatoes...yummmmmmmmmy. Best mashed potatoes I've ever tasted. The mashed potatoes was buttery, had chunks of lobster and cheddar cheese (special request). I ate it slowly to savor the taste it was soo delicious! Now for my entree...I just started eating sushi this year now everywhere I go that has sushi I have to try it. Ocean Prime's dynamite roll out does every sushi restaurant I ever went too. I can't even describe all the mixtures of goodness this roll is filled with. You have to experience it for yourself. Last but not least is the Berries and Bubbles drink :) From the delivery, to the look and then the taste was amazing. Overall, I loved my first experience here. All the staff are friendly and sociable. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone! read more

2nd visit here. Ocean Prime is simply the best. Both times for work parties. Yes it's expensive, but of all the high end places in Boston Ocean Prime is one of the best. From the staff that greats you to the waitstaff everything is exceptional. We had a bunch of appetizers, two seafood towers, calamari, goat cheese raviolis. Everything was excellent. For entrees 1/2 the table got steak 1/2 seafood. One of us got the Wagyu steak. It was the best beef I have EVER tasted. The mixed drinks are great. Desert was fab. All and all a wonderful experience. read more

I highly recommend Ocean Prime! My husband and I live in the Seaport and have eaten at most of the restaurants in the area. On a whim we tried Ocean Prime and had such a wonderful experience! We had drinks and enjoyed a live guitarist and a fun, yet mature bar scene. The dining room has an art deco/old New York feel. The food is always delicious - oysters, deviled eggs, calamari, raviolis to start - ALL amazing! For dinner we've had the filet, scallops, salmon and tots - WOW! The tots are especially a delicious treat with their salty and cheesy taste! For dessert we've had the butter cake and although tasty, if you have had Mastro's butter cake, maybe choose another option for dessert while at Ocean Prime. It's also worth noting the exceptional service we had! Levi & Yvonne are amazing servers. Have you ever spent a few hundred dollars on dinner but everyone treated you like a jerk? Me too - but dont expect that here. The staff truly makes us feel like we are the only guests they are waiting on. We have already started going back regularly! read more

As a regular patron of Ocean Prime I was very insulted that they required my credit card at the bar before serving me and my wife. We were having dinner at the bar and the bartender know us and was required to run our credit card. New policy. Not good. read more

Let me start off by saying it was unbelievable. I took a girl that I have had my eyes on since last summer and this was our 3rd date.. what helped was my server Mike. He immediately made the date less awkward simply by acknowledging it was our first time in the restaurant. Accompanied with his menu knowledge and recommendations on what to get, plus an outstanding attitude. We started with the truffle deviled eggs (amazing) also got the prime sushi (amazing) I emphasize the server because of our entree. He has mentioned they had a ribeye streak from a private exclusive farm in California. Easy choice for me but for my date she was hoping for seafood and I asked if we could to the surf and turf with that piece of meat and Michael made it happen. We had the ribeye with lobster tail from Maine and potato cake. Just wanted to say thanks to the server because we enjoyed everything. Would recommended family and friends. Keep killing it and we'll keep coming there for any event. read more

Came here for my 21st birthday dinner mainly because I wanted to get the berries and bubbles drink and I was blown away! The staff is amazing and our waiter was very friendly and entertaining. He knew all our names by the end of the night (9 of us). The food was delicious and possibly the best meal of my life. Can not express how awesome this place is! Definitely returning soon! read more

I work in the industry so I'm always excited to try new restaurants. I had great expectations for Ocean Prime. The decor was very busy- a lot of mixed patterns. Half of the dining room looked very outdated while the other half rather modern, but let's talk about FOOD! I was excited to try the sushi. The dynamite roll and prime roll were both delicious. A friend of mine who wasn't very hungry ordered the onion soup and enjoyed it, but said there was too much bread in it. My blue cheese encrusted filet was nearly flavorless and I wasn't expecting the Madeira sauce it came with. Unfortunately I would have definitely ordered it without sauce had I known. Another of my friend's steak was undoubtedly overlooked. Within minutes of sending it back, the executive chef came over with a properly cooked steak. This was nice, but I was surprised that a manager didn't come over as well. I was very disappointed in the truffle Mac and cheese side. We couldn't put our finger on it, but the mac and cheese had a very odd, sweet, and frankly gross taste to it. We barely finished half of the side order. All of our drinks were fabulous, however. I recommend the berries and bubbles cocktail. Our server Lauren was lovely, kind, attentive and professional. She quickly remedied the steak refire and I'm sure that had we voiced our so-so review of some of the other menu items she would have responded appropriately. read more

I left the restaurant after an okay meal and was harassed outside by some drunk people that were not patrons. The "security guard" did nothing to stop these drunk people, even when one of them walked right up to me and threatened to hit me when I asked them to stop. The guard said I was being sensitive which is very ironic given the restaurant's clientele. When I called to speak with the manager the following day, he gave me an empty promise that he would "make it right." I tried calling again and have yet to receive a call back from an incident occurring over a month ago. There are plenty of other high end steakhouses in Boston and this restaurant will not be getting anymore of my business. read more

So far I've been here twice and can full heartedly admit you get better service as a "single lady." While I'm not a single lady, my experience coming here with my girlfriends was significantly better than my boyfriend and I the other night. With the girls we had great service, great food and great drinks. The other night with my boyfriend, we confirmed with the cocktail waitress that the bar was first come first serve, so we ordered a drink with her and politely stood behind a couple finishing their drinks. Twenty minutes passed and as they got up to leave I placed my purse down on the chair just in time for the bartender to tell me the two ladies to my right we're going to sit there. Based on their drink levels, and the fact that we had been looking around for the passed twenty minutes, they most certainly were not there before us. Also, if there was a waiting list, I'm pretty sure the cocktail waitress would have told us about it when we asked. It became very obvious the bartender was most interested in hitting on one of the girls. Naturally, we were very turned off and decided to go to Committee instead. read more

I attended a work gathering in the bar area. The service was awful. The staff never cleared empty glasses or food dishes from our tables until we asked. The bartender working (a short younger male) was extremely rude. He was unfriendly and acted as though ordering a drink was inconveniencing him. There are so many options in the seaport area I can't see myself returning. read more

I loved it there ! Just left, my partner and I loved it. The steak was amazing, cooked to our liking. The service was great ! Please if your lady (or a gent) try the berries bubbles drink sooooo good and Chic ! Thank you read more

This has been a restaurant that I have always enjoyed going to. The service is usually stellar and the food incredible. However my last two visits have left me quite disappointed. The last two times I went they took over 15 min to seat us even though we had a reservation. This last time was just an absolute nightmare. We had a graduation dinner and had balloons with us. We specified so in the reservation. Upon arrival we checked in and they said our table had just finished that they were cleaning it. We arrived before the graduate as we were planning to surprise her with the balloons. 10 min after we still haven't been seated so I ask and they say that they do not accept balloons in the main room so they're trying to seat us in a private room. More time passes still nothing I begin to get upset as I had notified in my reservation that I was bringing balloons. Anyhow the graduate came and we STILL hadn't been seated so the surprise was ruined. At this point it had been over 20 min since we first arrived and some supervisor came to try to talk to us with no solution. They told us to wait for the dining room so we waited. They then tell us that the table is ready but we have to put the balloons away. Why?? They said the people in the dining room haven't finished. We could have been sitting down all this time and just put the balloons away. Or at LEAST they could've notified us and told us before we came about the balloons. Clearly nobody takes the time to read the special requests, why have them if you don't take the time to actively look at them. Anyhow we continue to our table only to find that we are tucked away in a table were the balloons could have PERFECTLY fit without bothering anyone. We chose not to say anything and proceeded to eat. The service was a shame, server was never around took forever to get served water and get the bread to the table. We had to pour ourselves the wine as she was never around. What a shame. The only good thing was the food, but asides from that I will not be recommending this for special occasions like I used to. read more

I love seafood but I was not prepared to have the freshest and most delicious halibut I have eaten. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly and served with two lobster ravioli. This dish should be on the regular menu. My party also loved their food. The filet mignon, tuna star and cod were great. The only complaint is that the service was impersonal. I don't think our waiter cracked a smile once. read more

Went on Easter - Love the atmosphere & great wine list but unfortunately our bartender was short and unfriendly the minute we walked in. Was the first time I experienced that and very shocked as I have heard great things about this place! Likely won't come back. read more

My wife and I went to last night's opening. Lots of buzz as we arrived and entered near the bar. Plenty of professionals sipping nice looking drinks and eating from what looked like a very appealing bar menu. The hostess area was stuffed with layers of smiling managers and restaurant staff. They we're clearly well trained. Once into the dining room, we had wonderful service from the wait staff. The menu was equally filled with seafood and meat offerings. All looked like great choices. I got the NY Strip (cooked perfectly) and my wife got the snapper (very tasty). Overall an excellent start for this chain's newest restaurant. You'll enjoy it! read more

My husband and I stayed in Seaport area for the weekend over New Years. We had the concierge at the hotel set our reservations. The moment we walked in to the restaurant we had 2 employees greet us. They walked us to our table in the dining room. They have a bar area we walked passed that played live music ( top 40's). We were immediately greeted by wait staff who gave us water and took our drink orders. I had my usual appletini which was delicious and my husband had a whisky mix he liked. For dinner I had the King Salmon lobster, gnocchi, spring peas & lemon jus and he had the filet mignon with asparagus. This was one of the best meals we had! The salmon was cooked to perfection and the pieces of lobster was amazing! My husband LOVED his steak and was pleased with the asparagus too. We didn't have room for dessert however the waiter said we should pick something because the concierge is paying for the dessert! He was told we were at the hotel to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary so that was there gift to us. So we ordered the chocolate cake. Somehow we had room for it! It was a chocolate delight! The environment and wait staff were great! We will be dinning here again! Granted this is expensive restaurant but it was worth it!! This is a good as it gets! read more
