Amazing food, service and ambiance. Don't miss the specialty cocktails. Great steaks and seafood options as well.

So so yummy! This review is a bit late. My husband and I went in on Valentine's Day for brunch. Food was excellent (LOVED the pretzel roll) and the service was also excellent!! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The only thing that prevented me from giving them 5 stars was the fact that their brunch menu was super small. I had the blueberry stuffed French toast with some kind of amazing bacon!!! My husband had the short rib which was also incredible. I would have liked to see a few more things to choose from on the menu. I'll definitely be back for dinner!!! read more

Came here for my boyfriends birthday dinner just us two and it is a beautiful ambiance. I was surprised by the loud music and bar in front of the restaurant that we must walk through to get to the seating area. However, it was cool to see that this is a trendy spot or good place to just grab drinks and socialize when not looking for the restaurant experience. Our food was really good. We both got steaks, as well as the lobster mashed potatoes and broccoli. My boyfriend can't stop raving about his steak and honestly I've had better but I've also had worse. Definitely better than Del Friscos in my opinion. Lobster mashed potatoes were good too! Definitely recommend! The main cause for the 3/5 stars is the service we received that night. Our waiter came off as sarcastic and not that friendly to be frank. I mentioned to the host while making the reservation AND when confirming it that it was my boyfriends birthday and I would like a birthday dessert brought out. The waiter, after we finished our food, then kind of ruins the little cheesy surprise by saying "i hear you're celebrating a birthday should I bring out a dessert?" Uh, yea...duh. Maybe I'm being ridiculous but I just feel I deserve a better attitude when I'm spending $200+ on one meal for 2. Additionally, he took forever with everything as if we were an after thought. I've honestly received better service at Friday's. Would that stop me from coming back? No. I don't think this reflects poorly on the entire restaurant- YET. If it happens again that's another story. read more

Big, beautiful space with excellent service. They clearly use top quality ingredients, and change accordingly. However, the sides and accompanying dishes were nothing special. Not one was outstanding and that was a shame considering how good the steaks and seafood were. Be forewarned: this seems like two restaurants and you will have a very difference experience depending on where they seat you. The front is packed with a loud, live band. In the back, it is quieter and more of a fine dining experience. There clearly is no dress code as people around us were wearing jeans and sandals. Not a "special dinner" place and the food, while good, was simply "OK". At these prices, we will probably not be back. read more

I have been a couple times, and the food is always excellent. Last night we went to Ocean Prime for my girlfriend's birthday. We had an early reservation because we were catching a show. Might have been the first two in the dining room for a solid half hour. Regardless, our server, Justin, made us feel comfortable right off the rip. He even brought out complimentary champagne for a birthday toast. The drinks were excellent. Justin had recommended we get the calamari, as it was his personal favorite. I think it is a personal favorite of ours now too. He recommended we get the gouda stuffed tots and the corn for sides. He even gave us a half order of both so we didn't end up with too much food. Both were out of this world. As I got up to go to the bathroom our waiter caught up with me and told me that he would bring out a complimentary dessert for my girlfriend's birthday. He even asked what her favorite was. Another server brought over the dessert and he also offered to take a picture of us. Overall, the food was excellent, and the service was even better. Thank you, Justin for making it a great experience at Ocean Prime. read more

My wife and I just celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary with dinner here. Absolutely hands down one of the best meals we have ever eaten! 10 oz filet for me with truffle fries and a grouper special for my wife. Amazing food and service. Had Jason (not sure of his last name) and he was excellent. Not cheap but guarantee one of the best meals you will ever eat read more

In Boston on a brief business trip, I stopped in without a reservation and was seated immediately. Terrific service. Sunday night "surf and turf" special is a good value and the food was well prepared and prompt. read more

Foods were ok, but service was less satisfactory and environment was noisy which made my son sleepy just like under hypnosis. Not able to have a dinner elegantly. The server asked forwardly to calculate the gratuity for me at 20% and print the receipt for my signing. Even I understood her concern especially on some Chinese consumers but no matter what it was rude. She did not know that I gave 35% at Legal Sea Foods last night due to their good service and attitude and my son was so happy and gave an "Awesome !" comment while checking the bill. read more

I came here for the first time on a Thursday with an out-of-town guest and had a nice experience. We had a reservation for 8:45 but showed up at 8 and were told they could happily seat us right then. We both ordered the rib-eye with au poivre sauce and sides, as well as wine. The by-the-glass wine menu was pretty good size which was nice to see. The steaks were very good although I will caution to order one level up when choosing how well you want your steak cooked. I ordered medium-rare and mine was just barely over rare. My guest ordered medium and it came out a perfect medium-rare. The au poivre sauce was a touch sweet, which was a little different; not bad, but not the best au poivre I have ever had. Sides were as expected, but the steak was really the highlight (nice and buttery). Our waiter was the perfect mix of welcoming and professional, exactly what I would have expected at such a restaurant. My only negative is that the sound level inside was quite loud despite us being in a completely different room from the music in the bar area. I would come here again. read more

Fantastic experience & great service. Had the caviar deviled eggs & scallop risotto. The scallop risotto was WOW! We also had bottle of Rose that was delish, don't remember name. read more

Pricey but so so yummy! They have tons of options so it's impossible to find something you don't like. Love the French onion soup (massive crock overflowing with cheese) and the truffled lobster mashed potatoes! read more

Seaport location easily accessible, steak was very good correct temp med rare, sushi lobster roll was minuscule finger size but tasted like it should, wine list absurd in prices must be their profit source. Bourbon was limited in choices but better priced. Excellent service and seating , enjoyable place for this type of establishment, food standard. read more

Love, love, loveeee ocean prime. My family and I go consistently and the food is always wonderful. The staff is awesome as well. Highly recommend! read more

We went here for Father's Day thinking there was a price fixed menu but alas only high priced menu. Started with drink order where a vodka tonic came as vodka soda. Waiter just grabbed away no real apology. Bread did not come until we asked the guy filling our water. Food wise three steaks were cooked correctly but the one for the father was well done. Plate taken away with sides on it yes these are extra. Plate did not return until rest of party got there's and was definitely not an 8 oz. could have just been waiter as other staff was responsive. read more

Outstanding! Everything from the service (props to Dana!) to the food to the ancillary waitstaff. We enjoyed a ribeye and the scallop entree that was just delicious. Topped off with a side of twice baked potato which sealed the deal. Would definitely go there again!! read more

For my anniversary. Had a reservation and we were seated on time. The bar is not a bar, it is a nightclub - very loud with a live band. Conversation was completely impossible. We followed the hostess to our table, and we followed, and we followed....past the nice dining room and all of he people enjoying the ambiance of a nice restaurant. And we were deposited in Siberia. There is a back room that is clearly there for private parties - and on nights when they don't have a private party the send the unlucky people to. Probably 5 tables in that room, no atmosphere, no ambiance, just a room. Restaurant Siberia. Nice. Drinks were late - likely because the walk from the bar to our room required a trip on a shuttle bus. Dinner arrived late too, I assume for the same reason. The tuna steak might have been decent had it been remotely warm - but I suspect it waited in the kitchen until someone realized they should send a food relief mission to the long forgotten folks in the back room. Our waiter was very nice but every other trip to our table was to remind us that something would be "right on it's way". He seemed hurried probably because he knew that every trip to our room was an extra 5 minute walk? I know that I could have said something to the hostess, like please seat us elsewhere BUT ya' know, sometimes when you are on a date you don't want to be that guy that has to be a pain in the ass to be treated decently. A larger group of people would have been fine back there as they have a group dynamic to work with - but to plunk a table of two there is inexcusable. So, maybe that treatment influences the other stuff, but go somewhere else. It's over priced to say the least. They are getting away with it because it is trendy right now but you can do a lot better at places that are right in the Seaport. read more

well first of all food is Amazing!!!! And I kind of expected pretentious service but melissa was amazing! I didn't think I'd be served less but melissa delivers more than expected!!! would 100% come back just for service alone ..food is just a plus ! read more

5 stars. Food is incredible. Mario M was a great host - funny, personable, incredibly attentive, great food recommendations.

This was a last minute decision but it was a great decision . Service was exceptional especially our waiter Michael. He made sure our party of 6 was well taken care of. On top of that, the food and drinks were on point (exceeded expectations). Dessert was over the top! Carrot cake was the best I ever had. Cheesecake and the chocolate peanut butter cake were awesome too. read more

Finally a restaurant in Boston where you can go for both amazing seafood and steaks as good as anywhere I've been. Great bar, approachable and properly priced wine list, terrific service and attention to detail. This place is a winner and I've already made my next reservation! read more

Had a great service experience with Jason. Really enjoyed the pace of dinner as it was New Years Eve. Had one small issue which he brought to GM Nick Foley who handled it deftly and I will definetly return. read more

Tried out Ocean Prime on NYE. We made a late reservation (10P) so we did not eat a ton but we were NOT disappointed. My filet mignon was delicious, my fiance's NY strip was equally delicious! We had jalapeno au gratin and black truffle mac & cheese. Yes, a lot of cheese but SO GOOD. Can't wait to go back and add in some appetizers & maybe a dessert! read more

Great new spot! We had the salmon and chilean sea bass and both were perfect. All the food was amazing, great environment and service. Will certainly be back. read more

I have been a few times to Ocean Prime and I can say that it is my new go to restaurant in the Seaport area. I tried the tuna tartar and dynamite roll which were delicious. For main courses, I have tried the Filet, which they cooked to my liking ever time. I also have tried the Chilean Sea Bass which had all the right spices and flavors. I have never left the restaurant without ordering the carrot cake. I am not usually a fan of carrot cake but this is simply the best carrot cake in the city! read more

Fantastic steak and seafood. Had the filet and lobster tail combo and it was as good as it gets. Carrot cake for dessert was extraordinary. A bit pricey overall even for a steakhouse, but that's Seaport for you. read more

went there on 8/5 to celebrate my boyfriend's bday. Great ambience and the noise level was fine. Food was great as well. that day happened to be national oyster day so they were $1 each (winning) so we had 2 orders. we ordered the crab cakes, 14oz bone in filet, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus ( they were all yummy). I had the bubbles and berries cocktail ( i ordered 2 of them lol) i highly recommend it you won't be disappointed it was amazing and delicious and he had the kentucky rose ( iit was good but i think its a guy's drink and he also ordered two those too). our waitress Christy was very nice and tentative. the 10 layer carrot cake was also good i love the sauce that came with it. the cake wasn't too sweet it was perfect. i would definitely come back. birthday boy was also satisfied. read more

I have been here a couple of times, most recently on Friday evening for a B-day dinner with friends. The food was fantastic but more than anything, the service was outstanding. Our waitress was wonderful as was the Manager who came by to say hello. I honestly can't say enough about the staff at Ocean Prime. And again, we all loved the food so I would highly recommend OP! read more

Great spot for a weeknight or weekend dinner. The location is ideal for anyone working in the Seaport or Financial District. The cocktails are great and the seafood options are plentiful. Although not well-known for their sushi menu, we enjoyed a few rolls alongside our meals. Ocean Prime is definitely worth a visit if traveling to Boston or just wanting to explore a restaurant in the area! read more

We ate at Ocean Prime on a Saturday night. I made a reservation online for 6:00, and when we arrived at 6:10, the host staff had no problem seating us even though we were running late and the number of people in our reservation changed. We sat in a quiet back room. We were promptly given ice water and greeted by our server within minutes. Our water glasses were never less than 3/4 full the remainder of the night! We each ordered a beverage and a Caesar salad to start, which was delicious (a tad lemon-y for my fiancé's taste but I enjoyed the citrus twist!). We also enjoyed the complimentary bread and an order of the tater tots to start-YUM! Those were amazing! All of our food came out very quickly! But we never felt rushed. We then ordered two Filets, one with a blue cheese crust. I am going to have dreams about that filet-it was the BEST steak my fiancé or myself had ever had! The tender seasoned filet I ordered needed no fancying up-it was perfection just on its own! We were a little disappointed to find out the $45 steak was served ala carte. We ordered asparagus and a size of the black truffle macaroni and cheese but we were so full we only ate a couple bites. After our plates were cleared, the server came back to let us know the Chef saw we hadn't eaten the macaroni and wanted to make sure we enjoyed it! We assured her that it was delicious, we were just stuffed! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Ocean Prime and would love to come back to celebrate again! read more

The only reason why I'm giving this review two stars is because the food was decent. A group of us dined here for a birthday. The ambiance was great, the food was decent, but our server could not have been worse. He wasn't busy, and that being said, he bordered on being intrusive. We felt pressure to order quickly because he came to our table three times to see if we needed help with the menu even though we told him "no" every single time. When we did order our food, it was the only time he didn't come by to see if we enjoyed it. When he dropped the bill, he stood at arm's length from our table watching and waiting for us to pay. It was really uncomfortable. Look - if I'm going to dine at what is considered to be a fine dining establishment, please train your servers how to smile and serve appropriately without intruding on your customers and making them feel REALLY uncomfortable. I would not return. Plenty of nice restaurants with great food AND remarkable service. read more

Decided to celebrate my birthday at Ocean Prime, great location, but missing the ocean view. Seated and greeted immediately...great so far. Waitress was very pleasant and professional, knew her stuff for sure. All her dish recommendations were most expansive ones, by the way it's not about money because we knew it was on the pricey side. Had a pre-meal cocktail, very good, then she offered wine with my sea bass dish, so I asked her what she recommended...so I had a taste. It was good, nothing great so she brought a glass of it with my meal. Well, by now you won't be surprised, it was a $27 glass of white wine, that was just OK, wouldn't know the difference if it was $8 or $12. As pleasant as she was, I will not go back because of her antics of pushing the most expensive items on customers without telling them the price. Mind you I didn't have the wine menu any more, thus asked her for her recommendation. Overall, just OK, not worth the $$$. The $27 wine glass was the icy on the cake for us. Not the best strategy for Sales by making customers unhappy. Unhappy customer on her birthday :( read more
